I've been usin' All Volusia for 'bout 4 years now
I've been usin' All Volusia for 'bout 4 years now. I got a problem with my unit that WAS NOT installed by All Volusia. But lemme tell ya, they've been real great. They always show up on time, keep things clean, and are real polite. And the best part is, they know what they're doin'. They've gone above and beyond to make sure my system keeps runnin' smoothly. And their rates are fair and upfront, none of that sneaky business. They really stand behind their work, so much so that the owner himself came by on a follow-up service call to make sure everything was done right. That kinda care for a regular ol' residential customer like me is hard to come by. When it's time to replace my unit and fix my duct work, you can bet I'll be callin' them and only them.
This AC company is the worst ever
This AC company is the worst ever. I called them to look at my thermostat and check my unit for Freon, maintenance, and stuff like that. They told me it would be $59 to come and check all that. I told them that maintenance hadn't been done, so please do that and let me know if there's an extra charge for Freon. The lady said yes, that would be considered parts and labor. So, before I made the appointment, I asked again what the $59 included. They told me they would check my thermostat and unit for that price. So, I scheduled it.
The technician came out - a really nice guy. He checked the thermostat and changed out two batteries (using my batteries). He said the charge was $59. So, I asked him about checking the unit, Freon, and maintenance. He said I had to reschedule for that and it would cost an extra $89.00 plus parts, labor, and Freon. I told him that's not what I was told on the phone before the appointment. Who in their right mind would call an AC company to check a thermostat and unit for $150 and then have to pay even more for parts, labor, and Freon? What a scam. Watch out for their sneaky tactics, taking advantage of customers, especially seniors. Shame on them.

We got a unit installed and new duck work on 11/16
We got a unit installed and new duck work on 11/16. They came 7 times from March to July because the unit wasn't cooling the house. We had a 3.5 unit installed on 11/16 with new duck work. In Feb 2019, they were called back because it still wasn't cooling and our electric bill was high since the unit ran all the time. They came 6 more times and found out they only replaced a small portion of the duck work. When we called the owner, he cursed my husband and said they did their job. So we called the warranty company and gave them the serial number. They told us we only had a 3-ton unit installed, but our paperwork said we paid for a 3.5-ton unit. They were unhappy that they installed the wrong unit and didn't replace the duck work, which cost around $7000. They had to replace the unit with the correct one on Sept 11, 2019. Everything was fine until April 21, when our air stopped working. We called and paid $60 for after-hours service because we work all day and didn't know it was broken until we got home. We have a big Siberian husky, and even though we keep the hair up and change the filter monthly, some still slips through the floor intake vent. When the service man checked the unit, he and my husband found a handful of hair on the coils. He said the dog hair broke the TXV valve, but it's not under warranty because it goes by the original purchase date, even though they installed the wrong unit and took 6 months to fix the leaks and duck work. We called the warranty company again today, and they said our new warranty started with the new unit on 9/11, but they won't honor the 1-year labor warranty. They want to charge us for 11 pounds of R410A, labor for the part, and a disposal fee. So we'll probably have to pay $1000 to get the air fixed after spending all that money on a new unit. It's been a big hassle.
All Volusia and Flagler Heating and Air's service was bad and not right for a pro company
All Volusia and Flagler Heating and Air's service was bad and not right for a pro company. I called Volusia and Flagler Heating and Air LLC to fix my AC after it stopped blowing cold air and the temp in the house started going up from 78 degrees to the high 80's. After the tech checked the AC unit inside and outside, he said he cleaned the coils and said it might help a bit with the hot air, but he said the problem was that the AC was old and I needed a whole new system. He spent the rest of the time trying to sell me a new AC unit that cost around $8,000. The tech left after I paid them $103.95 fee by check and there was no change in the air coming out of the vents. This was on September 4th and it was in the 90's outside. It was so hot in our house we had to sit outside. We had a neighbor get someone they know to check the AC. We paid them a fee. He looked at the contactor on the unit and saw corrosion and melted wires on it and it was falling apart just by touching it. He put in a new contactor, which is a $20 part, and replaced it. He couldn't believe that an AC tech would miss one of the most common reasons for no cold air blowing. I did some searching on the internet and found info that said the contactor should have been visually checked and tested with a voltmeter. Here's an example of what I found searching AC contactors on the internet. "AC techs use a voltage multimeter to test for a bad capacitor and contactor. But sometimes all it takes is a visual check. Obvious signs of failure include a gooey, leaky, or bulging capacitor or a burned contactor. So again, while replacing a capacitor and contactor is an easy enough fix, we still recommend hiring a pro (us) to do it." https://superheatandair.com/capacitor-and-contactor/. Our contactor was in such bad shape it would have never passed a visual check, let alone more in-depth testing. I felt like I paid Volusia Flagler Air to give me a sales pitch for a new AC unit. I can only think that this was really bad incompetence or a shady business. I called Volusia and Flagler Air and talked to Tony, the service manager, to ask for our $103.95 back and complained that their tech missed an obvious cheap fix that shouldn't have been missed. Every time I tried to tell Tony there was no change in our AC system before and after the service, he kept saying "15-degree temp split" to try and confuse me. I told him a $20 part was able to bring the house temp from 91 degrees to the normal 78 degrees and their tech missed the obvious solution that every AC company should have found. When I asked for the refund, Tony said they stand by their work and we could have called them back to come out. That doesn't make sense; they already told me the solution to the hot air coming out the vents was I needed a whole new AC system. Was I supposed to call them back and tell them to check it again because I don't believe them? It was the second tech that told us the obvious problem was the bad contactor. I think anyone who fixes ACs should have found this problem. The mistake is so bad and should have been found by anyone fixing ACs that I think the community might be taken advantage of by Volusia and Flagler Heating and Air. I included a pic of the old contactor and Volusia and Flagler Air's diagnosis. Thank you.
