Mauzy Heating Air & Solar Wasn't happy with the technician

Wasn't happy with the technician. He said everything was working like when it got installed. The AC's been running all day, trying to keep it at 75 degrees. Didn't have this problem last summer.

I had an A/C tune-up done by Ryan from Mauzy Heating Air & Solar. He wore all the necessary protective gear for Covid safety, which was great. He was really nice and polite. He also gave me some tips on how to maintain my system between tune-ups. Mauzy installed my A/C unit four years ago, and I'm happy with it. I'm glad I chose them.

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar The Mauzy experience from start to finish was amazing

The Mauzy experience from start to finish was amazing. Installing a 5 ton, 10 ton, and 17.5 ton on the roof of the Community Church of Poway went smoothly in just 2 and a half days, and it was unbelievable. The Mauzy Install team worked like a well-coordinated dance, completing the job promptly. The pricing was much better than the competition.

The technician from Mauzy Heating Air & Solar charged me for a service that was unsuccessful and dishonest. I found out later that another company fixed the same problem for a much lower price. I wouldn't recommend trusting Maury. The technician even put me on the phone with the owner, who threatened me if I didn't pay for their incompetent service, which didn't provide any value. Look for better service elsewhere, but definitely not at Maury.

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar Mauzy came to install a new air conditioning unit for us today

Mauzy came to install a new air conditioning unit for us today. The three men who came did a fantastic job. They wore face masks, shoe coverings, as well as covering all our floors. They were efficient, courteous, and definitely hard working! We are thrilled with our new system and look forward to keeping cool this summer. We cannot speak to the unit we had installed yet, but we were very pleased with the customer service we received today!

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar I trusted Mauzy, but they took advantage of us

I trusted Mauzy, but they took advantage of us. My husband and I are seniors and trusting folks. They charged us hundreds of dollars for a part that should only cost around twenty bucks. They also said that the part wouldn't have a five-year warranty unless we added a hard start, which brought the total repair cost to a whopping $1154.20. The part they called a "secondary motor control" is actually just a run capacitor. My friend, who manages properties, told me the real cost of the parts and even called Mauzy to complain about them overcharging elderly people like us. We haven't heard anything back from them. Just so you know, I don't blame the technician. They were just doing their job. It's the company that's at fault here. They know that when it's hot and the AC is out, their customers are in a tough spot.

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar Mauzy did a very poor job on installing new A/C and heating units

Mauzy did a very poor job on installing new A/C and heating units. The tech's used old parts that resulted in a flood of my downstairs from a leaking pipe joint. Also, they cut corners elsewhere by installing wrong size drip pans and did not properly check refrigerant levels until made to do so by Lennox. One A/C unit made loud vibrating noise when running and Mauzy tech's could not detect the problem. So Mauzy management could not send qualified/trained tech's to fix the problem. I had to go through *** complaint department who in turn contacted Lennox (our new units brand). Lennox had to send their tech's to train Mauzy tech's on what to look for etc. After waiting weeks the problem was diagnosed as bad "contactor" part...which Lennox stood behind their warranty and had Mauzy replace it. But the damage to the unit was done. Mauzy management was not responsive and not customer oriented and would not respond to phone calls and/or emails unless Lennox got involved and actually paid them to do it. I would avoid using Mauzy as they are only interested in making money, not satisfied customers.

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar, in 75 years this is by far the worst rip off I have been unfortunate to have. I was initially surprised/shocked when Ehly presented the suggestion for repair of my air conditioner. Ehly was so personable and helpful, I thought he was okay even though the cost was high. Now that I've talked to a few people and realize this is predatory pricing aimed at the elderly. I hope this is not your usual practice. Did Ehly have training on how to cheat the elderly? At the time, I had no idea what the parts were worth. I have checked the real cost of the parts. Ehly was here from 0804 to 1012 at $200.00 dollars an hour, it would be $400.00. The total parts should have been less than $100.00. The total bill would have been generous at $500.00. I am very unhappy. A bill of $1,143.00 is very excessive! I have not yet decided what I will do about this tearable ripoff. I will talk to my lawyer and see what he would suggest. I hope you will reduce this bill to a reasonable amount. Air conditioner hard start kit 5 tons - $340.00. Should have been $25.00 to $40.00. Air conditioner capacitor dual - $367.00. Should have been $10.00 to $25.00. Air conditioner contactor 40 amp - $347.00. Should have been $12.00 to $15.00. After I sent this letter, I talked to Jim, general manager, in a Simi heated conversation. I effect he said tough [censored] you paid the bill and you can do nothing anything about it about it!

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar Avoid this place

Avoid this place. They are crooks that only want to empty your pocket. We had an issue with our AC condensation units. First of all, the technician came in late, even after the 4-hour window that they had originally made the appointment for. The technician who came in to fix the issue initially quoted about $300. It jumped to $600 after a few minutes. Both of these quotes I approved. He started working on the unit in our garage and after cutting the *** pipes and cutting into our drywall. After about an hour of his attempt to fix the issue (and being unsuccessful), which was the water dripping into our garage, he said he will come back to get this problem fixed the following week. He said he will charge us $250 as a deposit so when he comes next week, he will put it towards the rest of the balance. The unit was dripping when he started working on it and it was still dripping afterwards, the only difference being he cut a lot of the *** and also the wall of our garage. I asked him to email me a quote to complete this job. He then proceeded to go to the attic and spend time in there. By the time he got done about one hour later, he asked for about $1300. He never told us it will be that much when he went into our attic. I thought it is too much for two hours of work. However, I paid him and told him to email me a quote before returning to our house. I called Mauzy company during the following week before the next appointment and decided to cancel our next appointment. This was after receiving his quote for an additional $1000 via email. I called Mauzy to let them know I did not want the technician to come back and let them know $2300 is the monthly salary for some people and it does not seem fair to charge that much for two *** pipes that they would need to put together to fix the issues. I told the representative from Mauzy that I am actually the one suggesting the solution to their technician on how to correct the condensation issue after he tore.

I didn't have enough characters to explain my problem here. Please check the attached file for a detailed description. I'm also including the invoice. They charged me outrageous prices for labor and then took my money without fulfilling the time I paid for. They said the labor fee covers a minimum of two hours, but the technician only stayed for 15 minutes. And he refused to use the remaining 105 minutes I paid for to inspect the rest of the HVAC system. Please refer to the attached file for more information.

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar In May we got an ** system from Mauzy

In May we got an *** system from Mauzy. We did the yearly maintenance to make the warranty last longer. Last week, when we switched on the , it wasn't working. The repair guy said there was a leak 'cause of a valve problem in the equipment they installed. They didn't charge us for fixing it, but they did charge us *** bucks to refill the leaked refrigerant. The warranty doesn't mention anything about replacing refrigerant, only refrigerant lines and stuff like code violations, etc.

I contacted Mauzy Heating Air & Solar to get a new a/c unit, condenser, and heater installed. I was under the impression that they would obtain the necessary permit for the installation. They successfully installed the system and it was working fine. However, several months later, I received a call from Mauzy informing me that the installation was not permitted according to the city's code, which requires a clearance of 4 ft from any wall. I had already mentioned this requirement to them before they started the job, as I had learned about it from other bids. They assured me that there would be no issues. Now, they are asking me to fix the problem. They are claiming that it is my fault because the space was already there. They argue that since the old unit was also not permitted, it was acceptable to install the new one in the same spot, regardless of my concerns. In my experience, this is usually not a problem.

I got a card for window cleaning worth around $50 when I bought a new HVAC system. The card didn't have an expiration date. When I called to use the service, the window cleaning company said they wouldn't honor the card. I contacted Mousy and they said they would send me a $50 check. It took them 2 weeks to finally mail the check, but they sent it to the wrong address. They said they would send another one, but today they called and said they wouldn't send a check after all. This whole thing lasted about three weeks.

Mauzy Heating and Air says they don't go door to door or call people, but somehow they managed to call my elderly mom, who has trouble thinking clearly. They sold her new heating and air systems and new ducting for almost $30k, even though she didn't ask for it. She can't make decisions on her own because of her disability, and any technician would have seen that. It seems like they purposely targeted her, even though Mauzy claims they don't do that. It feels like they wanted to take advantage of her because she's older and dependent. They didn't give us a sales agreement, and the invoice didn't have the date or the representative's name. They won't return my calls or help us fix this. Clearly, Mauzy didn't teach their employees about elder abuse or how to recognize when someone can't make decisions on their own.

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar I just got Mauzy Heating Air & Solar to put in a new A/C system at my place

I just got Mauzy Heating Air & Solar to put in a new A/C system at my place. They finished up on August 4, 2022. Right after they were done, I gave the installation and sales team a list of things that needed fixing. The list had stuff like shoddy work during the installation, missing air vents, an unbalanced condensation unit outside, unconnected air ducts in the attic, no insulation on the air ducts, no switch for the attic light to meet code, cold air leaking into the attic from the cooling unit, a badly installed thermostat, and messed up wall paint. And that's just some of the things they haven't bothered to fix from my complaint. They promised a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee, but it's been nothing but disappointment. I paid over $25,000.00 for a professional installation, but what I got was a lousy, non-code compliant job.

Mauzy put in our air conditioning 'bout a year ago and just recently swapped out our old furnaces, which were a whopping 22 years old. The AC started leaking water 'cause those installers didn't properly support the drainage system for the condenser. Water dripped onto the plywood floor and made its way through the attic hatch, soaking the rug on the closet floor. The framing around the attic hatch got all warped. But here's the real kicker: the last "technician" who came to fix the leak totally ignored a power junction box that was just chillin' unattached on the furnace. That thing should've been fastened to an upright beam, but nope, they didn't bother. The city inspector told us it was a code violation and suggested we ask Mauzy to fix their mistake. So I called up to talk to a supervisor and get the repair sorted, but guess what? The answering service had the nerve to tell me I ain't allowed to speak with Mauzy! Can you believe it? We started off just annoyed with their shoddy work, but now we're downright outraged that Mauzy won't even respond after we've given 'em a whopping $40,000. And don't even get me started on trying to reach 'em on the phone. You gotta sit through a whole two minutes of their propaganda about how amazing and competent they are before you can even talk to someone! Can you believe the nerve?

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar I contacted Mauzy on 4/7/2022 cuz my air conditioner wasn't working

I contacted Mauzy on 4/7/2022 cuz my air conditioner wasn't working. They scheduled a visit to my home on 4/8/2022. I paid $99 for the diagnostic of my unit. The technician told me that my unit had a faulty motor and needed to be completely replaced. He also recommended more maintenance on the unit. The estimated cost for these services would be close to $3,000. We got a second opinion from another company. That technician told us that there was nothing wrong with our motor. That if it would have been replaced and submitted to the manufacturer (as Mauzy said they would) it wouldn't have been accepted cuz it was working fine. The issue we had may have been cuz we didn't use the unit for a long time >6 months. I'm really happy that I didn't buy the recommended services from Mauzy and got a second opinion. But I'm really concerned with the experience I had with them. Their wrong info and non-refundable service fee (that wouldn't be taken off the total service charge if I bought it) is upsetting. I'll never call them again. I want a refund for the diagnostic visit cuz of the dishonesty and not caring about my time and potential business.

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar I hired this company to change my Heating and Air Conditioning system

I hired this company to change my Heating and Air Conditioning system. They said they would make the ceiling access bigger to 30"x30" and that it would only take two (2) weeks to get a new 30"x30" grill. They finished the job on 06/20/2022. Two weeks later, I called Mauzy to check on the grill and they said it was on back order with no specific release date. I called multiple times and always got the same answer. In the middle of July, I contacted ***, the person who estimated the work. He told me what happened, that the paperwork for the part order got lost on the office desk. So, the claims of it being on back order were lies. Earlier this month, I contacted *** again and asked if a technician could come and cover the intake hole with the right size filter to make it look better. On 08/11, he messaged me saying a technician would come on 08/12 to do the job and that the grill would arrive that weekend. Nobody came or called me. Yesterday, 08/15, I called to follow up but didn't get a call back. Today, 08/16, I called again and they said the manager would call me back. I waited for hours and it never happened. I paid almost $27K for this system and I don't think I should be treated like this.

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar Mauzy System was installed in September

Mauzy System was installed in September. After regular use, the unit is leaking air when it's running. The install manager came out and said he fixed the issue, but it wasn't fixed. Next, he sent his technician out to spray the sealant in the pictures, but this still didn't fix the problem. His argument was that it had passed inspection, so he didn't know what to tell me and that air leakage was normal. If this is normal, Mauzy could have another HERS test done to justify this. I left a message for the general manager, who never responded. I had to pay another company to give me a second opinion. The technician of *** also said the amount of air coming from the unit is excessive. Their conclusion was to have the unit completely redone. Mr. owner of *** spoke with the owner of Mauzy and ***. *** agreed to have his technicians return to fix the issue. They resealed and customized the top part of the unit, but this did not fix the problem. There are holes in the tape of hard to reach areas and the source of the air seems to be coming from the back of the unit. The Mauzy technicians (Brenden and ***) also stated that the person that did the install was no longer with the company. Leading me to believe he either didn't know what he was doing or was a disgruntled employee purposefully sabotaging installs. I just want my unit working properly and get what my $20,000.00 paid for. I'm afraid this leakage could cause other damages like moisture build-up and mold.

Mauzy Heating Air & Solar On Friday, November 19, Mauzy was supposed to come and do a regular checkup on our air conditioning and furnace

On Friday, November 19, Mauzy was supposed to come and do a regular checkup on our air conditioning and furnace. The technician arrived and, within 5 minutes without supervision, he found what seemed to be a new leak under the inside coil of the air conditioning. He said it was cracked and if I hadn't had a checkup or routine maintenance, it could have caused a big mold problem. The water looked fresh, and I wondered if it was just a coincidence. I told him that we were expecting guests for Thanksgiving and needed it fixed quickly. He gave me a quote of $5500, which shocked me. I asked him why it was so expensive and suggested getting a new system instead. He didn't answer. I signed his phone to acknowledge the price (only the amount, no other details), but I told him I would do some research. The next day, I looked into it and found that the pricing was almost double the highest price for a new coil, labor, and other expenses. I left a message with the Mauzy office, expressing my concern. Meanwhile, the technician assured me that there was an appointment scheduled for 8 am on Monday, November 22. Monday morning came, but no one showed up. I called the Mauzy office at 10:30 AM, and they had no record of the appointment. They then said they would send someone around 12 noon and offered me a 10 percent discount on the exorbitant price. In a tight spot, I agreed. While I was on the phone with the Mauzy office, the technician from Friday called me and asked me to call him back. I didn't, as I couldn't understand why the office had no record of our appointment. Thinking that they were sending someone else, the technician from Friday showed up again. I was nervous and pressed for time, so I let him start the service. When he removed the old coil, I took pictures of it. He showed me the new coil he was installing, conveniently failing to mention that it wasn't a match for the rest of the system. After the part was installed, the office called to finalize the payment. They asked if I had received all the paperwork, but I said I hadn't received any. At first, they couldn't produce it, then they showed me an old pamphlet that wasn't helpful. There was no warranty provided.
