They give you the run around like you just have money to throw away
They give you the run around like you just have money to throw away. I don't recommend them at all, they won't return phone calls, you have to call them.
Island Aire is the worst company I have ever dealt with!
Island Aire is the worst company I have ever dealt with! One year later, my blower motor went and they want to charge $700.00 dollars for labor to replace it! It takes about 1 hour for the job to be finished. They must get $700,00 an hour for their work. 10 thumbs down!

We had our AC compressor and air-handler replaced at our Sanibel condo several months ago. Then we had a drainage issue that had nothing to do with the work that was done. Island Aire took care of it and followed up on the problem. David came over today, on 10/15, checked out the situation, and did the necessary service. He also gave me some advice on how to keep the system in good shape. I was really impressed, so I decided to sign up for a maintenance contract for a whole year.

I'm really happy we stumbled upon Island Aire. It's like finding a needle in a haystack to come across a company nowadays that offers top-notch customer service, but these guys are the real deal. Their service guys are absolutely amazing. They break things down for you so it's crystal clear, and they're super professional and polite. They really back up their work too. Right from the get-go, when you first reach out to their office staff, you can tell they've got your back.

In May , we got a new AC unit from Island Aire
In May , we got a new AC unit from Island Aire. Right from the start, we've had nothing but problems with this thing. They told us it was energy efficient, but our electric bill actually went up. Then in October , I came home from work and the house was hotter than an oven, over 80 degrees inside! I called Island Aire and they said there was a huge leak. They had to chip away at the wall next to the unit to fix it.
A month later, same thing happened. I came home to a sauna instead of a house. Island Aire said the leak was actually in the air handler and they replaced it.
In September , we had our annual AC maintenance done. I told the technician that the unit was always running and never cooling the house down. The tech said there was a small leak and filled it with freon, charging us for it. They also said we had bad lines going to the house. I decided to get a second opinion from another AC company. They confirmed the small leak. It's pretty obvious that Island Aire sold us a defective unit or did a lousy installation job. We think we deserve a refund for all the costs we've incurred.

I went to Lowe's and bought a new Trane air conditioner from Island Aire. The one I had before was working, but I wanted something that would save me more money on my monthly bill. Island Aire installed it for me. However, within a year, I started experiencing some issues. They told me it was due to faulty coils from the factory. Additionally, the thermostat was set for gas, even though we use electricity. I had to finance the purchase, and while the coils were replaced, the labor cost was not covered. I had to pay for that separately.
Unfortunately, the unit froze up a couple more times after that. I asked for the Trane number, but they didn't give it to me. They assured me that the new unit wasn't a lemon. As a 69-year-old with health issues, coming home to a house that was 80 degrees was not good for me. I had the unit serviced regularly and changed the filters every couple of months. I spent a lot of time on the phone with the company and even received a letter from the owner.
During one of their last visits, they told me I had mold and needed special lights. This put me in debt again, costing me an additional $2000. They then said I needed another service trip, but I was already facing financial problems, so I had to hire someone else to check it. I informed the office that I would no longer be using their services. Dealing with them caused me too many headaches and negatively impacted my health. It's hard to believe that a new unit could cause so many problems. Each time they came to me with more issues and demanded more money, my heart sank. To make matters worse, my husband blames me for our financial problems. People had warned me that they were no good, but it's too late now, and I can't get any help. The unit is only 5 years old, and I've been experiencing these problems since I bought it. I'm currently looking for some receipts they sent me after I requested them, but I can't find all of them.
