Its that easy to write things on here. LOL. People are just afraid of this because they have been apart and approched by pyramid schemes. This company sat back and watched as all the other new energy companies tried to come in and take over. Then when the time was right they attacked! I really can't believe people they just assume that it's a scam. They want you to talk to your friends, your family. they dont want you banging on doors like all these other idiot companies. This company has trainings every week to show people how to approach others and what to say. if people attack you and say no, just move on. Don't get discouraged and quit and then write a blog on the internet about it. It's people like you that make it hard for others . Because your sadistic crap is printed out and explained how you are wrong. No matter what you say about this company you will loose i promise you that. This company will move its way all the way to the top weather you want to be a part of it or not. I deal with police officers that are a part of this, emt's, lawyers. I have made a lot of new friends outta this. So why don't you people make some more phone calls and do a little bit more research on this company, to find that it is phenominol. you took that much time to bash it why don't you take a little bit more time and find some positves in it.

P.S. its very easy to make your money back . I made my money back and then some in a week, they only charge you and initial fee is because if they dont charge you anything you wont do anything. They charge you a whopping 26 bucks a month because they have a company pretty much running your business for you.

i am an ambit consultant in ny and i can say you do have to put work in to get pay out. there is no scam. like one of the earlier readers posted you dont get rich quick but it is an opprotunity to make extra income. for my customers there is a 7% discount for the first two months and after that ambit has been averging a cheaper rate. on top of that ambit guaranties to be cheaper than the incumbant after 12 months. i had some of my customers call me to ask why did they get a check from ambit. i explained to them about the guaranteed savings ambit promotes. there are potential customers i deal with who tell me their horror stories of dealing with esco's and their angents but its up to me to educate and inform them as best as possible on what the services and even the opprotunities are. feel free to contact.

Wow. So much ignorance out there. I just joined Ambit about 40 days ago and already promoted myself to the first level. We also received the welcome letter from the incumbent stating that Ambit was now our provider. The hotel voucher is awesome. My fiancee and I are going to Hilton Head, SC on Ambit's dime. We won't be rich tomorrow, but my hard work is already paying off. You people that poo poo Ambit have no idea how great an opportunity this is. It is the fastest growing, privately held company in America in what is now close to a double dip recession and we're only in 2% of the deregulated markets. I have been an Ambit consultant for almost 8 months now. Here in New York we do have a guarantee of atleast 1% savings for the year. Just this month if I had the incumbant or another ESCO I could have paid almost double. That is not to say that every month I have seen this. What I do know that Ambit is NetWORKmarketing and it is work, but if you do the work and help someone get their customers you will get them on their way to making a small amount of money to start and more down the road. I am not one to tell people that you can make tons of money right off the bat with Ambit, but it does work and will continue to grow. I have had a landscape contracting business for over 20 years, things happen, misunderstandings and so on any business be it Ambit or any job that you may have will have challenges there is no doubt. In closing this is not a pyramid scheme as some would call it because there is no reason for me to sign someone up and not help them because I don't get anything until they get customers. Ambit is a great opportunity and it has helped me and my family very much.

I do not know much about Ambit energy but I do feel that the internet is also a very sad gossip cafe at times. Anyone can say anything they like with no accountability to prove any of their findings. I would think that many of these accusations against Ambit could be easily proved with the ability of the internet in our time. Otherwise perhaps the ones that should be tried as scams and criminals are those who post such things with an unwillingness to prove what they are saying and be accountable.

I am a Consultant (and Customer) for Ambit Energy and am offended by attacks aimed at our company. Let's see:

1) Inc. Magazine recently (September 2010) named us the Fastest-Growing Privately Held Company in the country.

2) We have an 'A' rating with the Better Business Bureau.

3) In 2009, SMU's Cox School of Business named Ambit Energy the fastest-growing privately held company in North Texas.

I could go on and on about all the positive things Ambit Energy stands for. All of this 'Scam' talk is absolutely ridiculous and should not be given any attention.

I have been a consultant for 4 months, I got my money back and am already getting free electricity. I was skeptical at first, but I have only positive things to say, I have over 40 customers, and I took off 1 month. I am a regional consultant. Its a 3-5 year plan of working very very very hard. If you can not handle being told NO, and you hate talking to people, then by all means, do not do it, but if you want free power, and the chance to make huge money, then go for it, ITS NOT FOR EVERYONE! If you form a good team, find good people, you will be successful, if you find lazy people and people thinking its a scam, then you will fail. But its a LEGIT Company.

As an entrepreneur I have been able to research over 500 direct selling companies. Many of which use aggressive attraction methods to recruit incompetent people looking to escape the harsh reality of our economic situation. The recognition and accomplishments Ambit has achieved in such a short time are irrefutable. Of course, to many a “SCAM” may be something that requires an investment and doesn’t have the money work for them. I just recently got off the phone with a top earner in the company. Given my experience I had over 100 questions to ask that person. The integrity was there as the questions were answered immediately. In a traditional M.L.M there is a term known as auto-ship, which means every month you will pay your investment for your product to be active. “You have to pay to play”. Here, there is NOT. With roughly a 5 to 1 customer to consultant ratio Ambit has a solid retention ratio and keeps growing everyday. Another important factor that determines your success is your up line or your team. If you are approached for this opportunity don’t feel out of line to ask them anything, even to the extent of how much they are making and if they would be willing to show you there last check. There are 5 p’s that really make a home based business work. Product, Place, Price, Promotion, and PEOPLE. The product is used by everyone…check, the place is in 5 states right now and expanding…check, the price guarantees savings..check, Ask any movie director the best form of advertisement is word of mouth; with Ambit being number one on The Inc. 500 with little direct advertisement word of mouth/relationship seems to be expanding…check. Now for the last P, that’s you. You need to decide if you have it in you to make a difference, not only in your life but the lives of people around you. Develop that leadership quality and you will be successful in Ambit, or any solid direct sales company.

I'm thinking about joining Ambit. I've spent a couple hours researching them online and from what I have found it is NOT a scam. It is NOT a pyramid scheme, but is actually a very legitimate "Multi-Level Marketing" energy company. Of all MLM businesses out there, this one seems to make the most sense because you are promoting a product everyone needs, and you are helping people save money. The bottom line is that becoming a consultant is not for everyone. For some it will bring success and for some it will not. I'm not too sure its for me because I think in order to be truly successful in any MLM business it requires a substantial amount of time and effort. My time is currently spent growing my current business, which is doing well, and I enjoy. If I were struggling financially, had a lot of time on my hands, or had a job I did not enjoy, then I would probably pursue Ambit.

Anyone who relies on a BBB rating is a fool. The BBB is not a consumer watchdog. Who do you think pays them? Their business "members"! They are independently owned businesses. If you pay your "dues", the complaints against your company will get "resolved". If you don't join you get a crappy rating. Wake up. Listen to real customers not a business advocate who gets paid for jumping in to rein in their business customers after they have screwed their customer and then gives them a good rating because they finally fixed that one complaint. What about all the other customers who didn't call the BBB and never got their problem addressed satisfactorily?

Unfortunately this entire complaint is nothing more than an illusion created by either a competitor of Ambit or a sad, lonely person who has way to much free time. Ambit only charges 1.5% of the overdue amount for late payments. So, in order for this person to have had 200 a month late fees he would have to have $13333.33 of overdue payments. That’s a lot of missed payments or he lives in a warehouse. None the less Ambit energy is both a great way to save money on your utility bills and become a self-employed individual on the side. Wow, you'll make a great "consultant". It is fairly obvious this person was probably referring to an ETF (early termination fee) which for Ambit is $199 for a one year agreement for a residential customer. I have had several customers who have been approached by so called consultants like you. A couple were convinced to switch and were hit with ETFs of upwards of $3000 (small business accounts where the ETF is based upon a formula including their historical usage). Unless you understand the industry, and I don't mean just as preached by Ambit, do everyone a favor and stay out of this business. Too many people with good intentions screw people over because they don't understand what they are talking about much less are able to intelligently read a bill, energy agreement or electricity facts label.

Ambit is a scam and all we care about is gettin you all to become customers so we can make money off you.If your dumb enough to fall for it them it's your own fault.Thanks :)

You can always tell when it's a scam because the ones involved with it will always resort to hegelian dialectic tactics:demonize and marginalize, in other words attack those who oppose. My sister did the same thing when she belonged to a religious cult known as The Way.

Ambit Energy makes their money from fooling people. I used to work for Ambit, it cost me quite a bit of money to work for them and I left broke. I used them as a provider for electricity and found out that the complaints the customers I signed up were giving me were absolutely true. The moment I realized the customers were purposely not told about the price increase on the second month, I could no longer sell it and I soon realized it when it happened to me. As a Consultant we were only told to tell customers the low price to change to Ambit not telling them they were not in a set price and without a secondary confirmation from them the price would increase without them knowing it... We as consultants were not disclosed this information. They are very smart and the only people telling you how good a company they are to work for, are more thieves trying to convince you to buy their books or dvd's or program on how to sell through the internet or some method only they can teach you. I don't understand, how can people make a living lying to people, it's the same as stealing. God Help Us. Just so you know, I called the Main office after too many complaints from people I signed on as customers and all the people above me called me directly to let me know I do not have the right to call the Mangers or the owners of the company and complain on behalf of the customers. The Holy Spirit has convicted me and I could not keep lying to people once I knew the truth, customers or consultants looking to become financially independent. Remember: Any company that ask you to start with your Friends and Family is using your closeness to them in order to take advantage of the whole lot of you. Wow! Obviously the poor person that started this complaint was not very well informed about what she was getting into and probably not very good at paying her bills on time. It's sad to hear but, there are lots of people that are not responsible enough to pay their bills every month. As far as Ambit Energy goes, they are basically scamming people out of money for making them pay a sign up fee and a monthly membership fee and using those funds to cover the cost of paying their affiliates their commissions. (Basically their product has nothing to do with the money their affiliates make) It would be great business idea and an amazing product if they were paying their affiliates out of their profits for using them to advertise and recruit new customers. Instead of making their customers pay their affiliates. It would be like my power company hooking up my service and charging me a monthly fee on top of my monthly bill to cover their advertising. The concept of network marketing is some will be customers and never signing up anyone, some will be customers and sign up a few, the others will make it a full time business. So why would you want to charge a loyal customer a signup fee and an extra monthly fee?

I understand and so should the readers of this website, that there are many people from all over the country who just don't have the qualifications to know how to look at the facts. Their minds are unclear and painted with fears, unable to clearly discern fact from illusion- minds that all too often jump to conclusions- particularly judgemental know-it-alls.

As a Business Analyst previously working for a major Int'l Firm and Systems Consultant for major Retail operations, I TRULY TOOK the time to analyze, research and asked many questions to the people at the Corporate Office for EIGHT MONTHS! After I did my due diligence, I would have been stupid not to join.

Naturally I chose wisely because I had been also studying another 9-10 ESCOs. Not one came close. I taught myself how to read bill statements and details in the billing that many don't know. I haven't come across any bill YET in the past 13 months that shows that ambit is a scam or overbilling at all, after all- the regulatory goverment people from the state TEXAS, NY, IL, PA, AND MD must have been idiots for granting a "scam" an license to operate legally in those markets. I don't think so...

Lastly, it's unfortunate that this website ALLOWS for the words FEDERAL as if it were a government page, when IT IS NOT. I should start a seperate post on how WEBSITES LIKE THIS ONE MISLEADS the public this way. What do you think about that? Luckily when I made my choice to join Ambit I realized that most of the stuff here was just end-user garbage regurgitated and highly subjective, so it didn't qualify a source of facts for me. Instead I read all these postings and went direct to customers. I saw actual bills, spoke to people in Ambit who were making money and others who weren't. Ambit energy is a scam, I made a payment of $85 saturday on the automatic system and I have been charged $8500. The system asked me to enter in dollars and cents. I entered 85.00 the system did not ask me to confirm the amount entered and did not repeat the amount I entered. As soon as I entered the amount the system said thank you your payment of $8500 have been approve. I call them immediately they said it was a mistake and the money will be back in my bank account monday. Today is wednesday the money is not there and the bank charged me overdraft fees. I called them they said it will take 5 more business day to have the money back in my account. And they also ask me to make another payment or my electricity will be disconnected. How I'm gonna make a payment if all the money in my account is gone? I don't event have money to eat. They also said they won't pay for the over draft fees and said that I entered the amount in the system. I have been a customer for 4 years and alway paid with the automated system, and I know when something is wrong with the system. What can I do

When I started writing this I never intended for it to be this long. So bear with me and please read to the end. I hope it helps some potential customers and consultants make the choice to take control of their future.

The internet is an interesting place. It is such a wonderful resource for information. But as the old adage says, don't believe everything you read. Do your research.

You've come to this site because someone complained about Ambit Energy. Can you think of a single company that hasn't had a complaint lodged against it?

I used to run a wholesale sandwich and baked goods business. My top priority was customer satisfaction. I wasn't making thousands off a sale. I might make a dollar from each sale if I was lucky. I needed return customers. In the five years I owned it I sold over a half million sandwiches and baked goods. In that time I had about a dozen people call and complain about their experience or return a sandwich at a store. Every single time I offered a full refund with no questions asked. In that time I had a much greater number of people call or see me in a store and tell me how much they liked a particular product.

If these complaints and compliments happened on the internet the only thing people would take away with them would be the negative, the complaints. It’s human nature for people to want to tell the world about a bad experience and warn everyone. Positive experiences are appreciated but we usually only tell a couple of people if anyone. We assume everyone is getting the same experience.

I've been an Ambit Energy consultant for the past 5 months. My experience has been very positive. I have every reason to believe that has a lot to do with what I was not promised by my sponsor. It’s not get rich quick by any means. It’s get rich only if you're willing to work your ### off and do it for a number of years.

Ambit Energy is a personal business. People who run Ambit businesses are no different than the people who run every other business. How many times have you had a bad experience with any business because you thought the owner or manager was a [censored]?

Each Ambit consultant is his or her own business owner and unfortunately they can run it almost any way they like. I say almost because Ambit consultants have been fired for policy violations. It is not the policy of Ambit Energy for consultants to badger people to become consultants or customers and make them feel bad if they do not. Nor are these tactics recommended by Ambit Energy corporate offices or the top leaders and trainers.

The bottom line is with hundreds of thousands of customers and consultants, someone is going to have a bad experience. It will end up on the internet and we will all now comment with our two cents. It’s today’s culture.

Do your own research. Don’t take only one person’s opinion as gospel on politics, religion or how to raise your kids. And don’t take it on Ambit Energy either. Don’t miss out on an extraordinary opportunity because of our nature to focus on the negative.

Break away from the masses and find out for yourself. If you’ve had a bad experience with a consultant, talk to another consultant. The deregulation of the energy industry is too big to let pass because of some [censored] who doesn’t know how to treat people.

Do your research, talk to lots of people before you make a decision. When I first started I got discouraged at the negative posts about Ambit Energy on the internet. It is sad to hear from people, that have never tried anything for themselve in life, that Ambit Energy is a scam. 99% of these people are complete loosers. They understand that the only way to make money is being hired by a company or someone whose goals are to get richer through job that is been paid by hours.
In coporate american companies, they don't care about you. They just care about their shareholders who invested in these companies and need to get paid. You are used to pay them and at the end you are fired because they got someone who works faster or bring more revenues than you.
If this is the type of way you want to make money, good for you. But I wasn't born to work for nobody. I set my income through goals and learned to work as team. That's why I adopted and recomend network marketing to anyone.

I am currently looking at joining Ambit, and have been involved with MLM before. I was introduced to it by my sister. I had reached a high level of success in that previous business by way of the number of people that had joined beneath me. (yes, that forms a pyramid). Although succesful in customer base I made NO money. I was ashamed of it and I would be ashamed of myself if joining Ambit caused anyone pain. If the money makers are on top, (and in Ambit they are. As this is proven through all of the supporters of Ambit post here) people will have invested their time, money and talent for nothing. People should not be lied to, and all of the "facts" should be disclosed. For all of you Ambit consultants and supporters I have yet to see a post where one of you have disclosed what the amount of your last check was and what exactly you were paid for. We do not want to here about the succes of others (owners and partners of the corporation whom are on top or how much the "company" makes) I am not suggesting that you quit. However please back up what you are saying with your own experience and not what the people on top have done and how much money the company has made. We all know in every MLM company the owners and people on top are the ones who really make any money. Please tell us how long you have been in Ambit and how many people are under you, and exactly what is your monthly check for? Can you really afford to quit your day job? Are any of your customers that switched to Ambit complaining? The bottom line is if you did not make your initial investment back within the first month and people are not happy YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING WRONG! AND THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH AMBIT! I would like to hear your feed back and how much in revenues you are actually making.

Very interesting to see that the dream builders are still out there working those people into a dream washed state of believing that they are doing the right thing and everyone else is doing it wrong. Funny, the product might chage, but the program doesn't. Good luck you Ambit "Consultants". Oh, the rest of you that have experienced the real "ambit experience", don't try to convience them any difference, they won't listen, and really don't care. I too fell for the scheme. I recently had a relative draw me into this companies PONZI scheme. They promised in the beginning that they would help me with my first 4 clients. Never happened. Then they promised me a free travel voucher. Never got it! After I began to read articles envolving ponzi schemes and pyramid schemes. I came to the conclusion that this company is not a pyramid scheme but a PONZI. Per Definition: What is a Ponzi scheme?

So in conclusion if you have someone trying to sell you this run, run, and run! The only people making money are the one's that started the business in the first two years. Everyone else is out of luck.

Whoever wrote this ### scam post is an idiot, and must be a competitor.. Yes, you hurt the ability of us gaining customers, and consultants. But, we, the Ambit Independent Consultants will succeed, while all of you ### talkers from Ignite, Spark, Levco and all of the other competitors should shut your mouth, because you can't even say free electricity, could you? And because this system is patented, you are really jealous. Maybe Ambit's top earners, (consultants) aren't making as much as Ignite's CEO, but I'll bet you this, They will eventually earn more... No, I do not work for Ambit. I paid into this program as an independent consultant, and, I am also a customer of Ambit Energy.. Guess what, I am very happy. I didn't even get 15 customers or free electricity yet. My electric bill is lower, and they are very helpful. Don't listen to all of the ### online, and don't let it seem too good to be true, because it isn'ty. It is very real, and so are the checks. Very, Very real ! Oh, and as to the vacations, they are very real too. Yes, minor charges apply, but, don't be fooled by Ambit's competitors posting here. They are completely losing their shirts by Ambit.. Just 2 weeks before Ambit launched in CT, every company sent us letters to try and get us to change suppliers, as well as multiple phone calls. I was so disgusted, I added myself to the nationwide do not call registry, and they still kept calling. They are trying to secure customers before Ambit Consultants go to work, and start offering customers the ability to earn free electricity. Guess what guy, Ambit didnt call me, I joined them. And it works, I've been paid, and all of my upline has been paid as well. It works, and the check did not bounce!

Ambit has great rates and there is an obscene amount of money to be made with deregulation. Anyone who has had a problem just doesn't understand the entire concept of deregulation. Your transportation provider is still the SAME. Nothing changes. It is simply a paperwork shuffle. So, if you had a bad experience, it is because you didn't pay your bill or there was an outage in your area. Ambit only supplies the energy; they don't transport it or bill it. Save money and go with the best!

They cut off my light even though I made a payment for $175. My kids r in the heat and it gets super hot in Houston and they didn't care they said make the payment or your lights stay off.

Funny how most of you have positive things to say about Ambit. I was coerced into becoming a consultant, went to the training meetings and sought out help. To date; I have not one cent earned. Everyone I know, work with and am related to does not want to be involved in the MLM scheme. Without those contacts, how does one gain consultants or even customers? Even the person that talked me into it has not been able to gain support from those above him. If any of you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them, otherwise, it's a complete waste of time and money.

I was approached by an Ambit consultant trying to recruit me. I was shown a DVD about the company. This DVD stressed that you can make the most money by recruiting other consultants to get a share of what ever money they make. $28, 000 if you get 7 new consultants and 20 customers, and all 7 get 7 and 20 and so on for 6 levels, for this to work, 117, 649 people must become consultantsna 64, 000, 000 new customers. Where will you find this many consultants consultants. The above scenario smells suspisously like a pyramid scheme. Only those at the top 2 levels will ever make any BIG money from this company.
