11/27/15 12/03/15 12/19/15 I have the movie ticket receipts Closed Caption Device Each time we went to the movies and the closed caption device never work. We had to leave each time and we're so disappointed. Wasting our gas and the cost of the food we bought. We love the AMC Theater and the staffs are very helpful. They gave us the guest pass but it's still not enough. We want to enjoy our time. We would like to see an close caption eyewear device. We hope it doesn't happen to us again. Thanks for your time to read our letter. Have a wonderful day! sincerely, Tracy Albright Gustavo Aro
not being served a drink
I went in with my kids to see a movie — the day before I hiked pikes peak in colorado for spinal cord injuries to raise funds. My id was left in my backpack - when I went to the bar to order a drink they asked for my id and I said "darn it - must have left in my backpack from hike yesterday" sorry, can't serve you without an id. I said call the manager — he came over about 26 years old and said I am sorry that is our policy. If the state were to come in we could lose our license.
I am 58 years old — are you frickin kidding me — no it is not a compliment - it is ignorance — really 58 and I can't get a beer with a picture id. I understand if you can't tell now-a - days but jesus teach your people some common sense — they should have said "no insult intended but you do look over 21" and laugh it off.
Unbelievable — gee, a cop comes in and see a 58 year old women drinking a beer — how stupid to think "lose a license".
Next time you hire managers/bartenders — teach them not how to be so stupid!

COMMON SENSE is all I ask not a brain surgeon
You do realize this was back in September when I wrote this complaint -- you know like water under the bridge -- you should find a newer post like maybe someone complaining about popcorn -- or not getting light ice - I am sure you will find something to amuse yourself -- like I said "old news"
I hope your the manager and you got fired - smarten up
I understand where you are coming from but if pulled over by a cop you just have to show them at a later time! This is not about bringing an ID it's about common sense - so you think it was ok for this manager not to serve a war vet because he had Alzheimer's and just forgets - you are so off in another world and need a reality check. Yes people do not look there age -sometimes good sometimes not - your just to stupid to get it -like we need another one like you in this world
This is a policy, you should always have your ID on you anyways. Is it legal to operate a vehicle without a Driver's License? NO. Therefore if you do not have your ID, that's your own issue. There are a lot of circumstances with age discrimination based on how people look, especially nowadays...Some teens look like they're middle aged, some adults look like teens...you can't do anything about that. I for one do not look my age whatsoever, so when someone cards me, I respect that because they are just doing their job. Bring your ID next time, respect the person for doing their job and move on.
don't renew, because I can't log into my account
I subscribed for the website www.amctheaters.com one year ago. It worked great, but each year I needed to renew the subscription. I went to the website and pressed “renew”, but after this the access to my account was cancelled. The website showed that the user name or password was wrong, but it stayed the same. The customer services didn’t react to my complaints.
useless ushers. bad customer service
Was checking my cell phone that was on silent as I have my daughters friend with us on a play date. Her mom sent a text. A aggressive woman behind smacks me on my shoulder hard 2 times!
Tells me to shut my phone off.
Mind u
Spongebob is what we r watching. I was checking a text from my daughters friend.
She complains! I tell usher and manager she hit me on my arm... No tapping
Hit me
Amc did nothing. Even in kindergarten we learned "keep your hands to yourself"
That was no woman, that was a beast. Disappointed in lack of anything from amc.
no preparedness in an emergency
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of some serious and concerning gaps in your theaters’ emergency management procedures. On Monday, March 10, 2014, I took my family to your Framingham, Massachusetts theater to see the movie “Peabody and Mr. Sherman”. About 40 minutes into the film, my son had a grand mal seizure. He has epilepsy, so my husband...

This theater shows discrimination to those people that have smaller children. I went to the concessions to get a drink and upon my return there were employees standing around. Once one of the employees realized I had a small child I was followed I to the theater. I didn't really pay it any attention at the time but within 5 to 10 minutes of my sitting down I was approached and asked to leave. The employee told me that there had been complaints of my child making to much noise and I couldn't stay in the theater with my child. If my child would have been crying or disturbing the movie I would not have a single complaint but the fact of the matter is that my child actually wasn't crying or making an extra noise. The movie was a comedy and there was a lot of laughter going on and yes my child was a part of that laughter. But how is that a issue when everyone is laughing and enjoying the movie? I let the employee know that my child was not crying and that maybe that might have gotten it wrong. But did that matter? Nope the employee laughed at me and told me that he did not care. As I'm being escorted out the theater I notice there are other people being escorted out with small children as well. And one guy says to me I guess they don't like kids in their theater. I have never been more humiliated and hurt in my life. Even though it was only a movie it's the principal behind it because I have a small child my family can't go out and enjoy a movie?

attitude
My sister and I were waiting on a long line to see the "Conjuring" and I as we approached the window we were provided with the assistants of "Keyshawna" and I haven't even stepped to the window and already was given a dirty look, my sister and I approached with a smile ! Then, we told "Keyshawna" that we would like 2 tickets to see "The Conjuring" and she ask if we had I.D which my sister did because she is 18 but I was under the impression that if you come with a 18 year old you can get in because they will shaparon, but "Keyshawna" said you can't have the tickets which we understood and then my sister and I were talking amugnts ourselves about which movie to see and she said "WHAT ! Is there a problem" with a big attitude which made my sister and I feel very uncomfortable . Next, she says "I can't give you the tickets" and she THROWS our money out the window and says move from my window ! This was a lesson well learned now I will know not to come back to the AMC in co-op city and I will make sure all the people I know, know as well not to come here ! If there's any questions feel free to call me at [protected]

I did an interview with this company extremely sarcastic unprofessional ghetto a worker who know me previously told them to not hire me so i didn't have equal opportunity I discriminated against every time i called they ridiculed me rudest place ever NEVER go here
movie interrupted/ poor customer service
My husband and I brought our 2 kids to see Ironman 3 and the movie was interrupted twice. After the first interruption we decided to stay and give the theatre another shot but once the movie was interrupted again we decided to take the refund that was offered by the theaters employee. While in line awaiting our refund the employer decided to not give any more refunds. Therefore I requested a manger. After waiting 30 minutes for a manager the employer became very disgruntled with everyone awaiting their refund. She alleged the managers were busy and would come down to address refunding our money when they got the time. After another 20 minutes of giving consumers attitude the employer decided to refund our money because she was "tired of dealing with us".

not allowing my child into a movie after 6pm
I took my son who is only a year old to AMC 24 in Hampton, VA on Monday at 7:30pm when there is less likely to be a large crowd. We were trying to go see Identity Thief since it was supposed to be a comedy and was the only movie I thought was appropiate for my child that was showing at that time. I was told at the ticket window that AMC has a policy that children under the age of 6 are not allowed into any R rated movie after 6pm even with a parent. I went home and looked on the AMC website to find this policy and couldn't find it posted anywhere! I called the theater manager and told him of my complaint. It took him more than 20 minutes to find this policy in writing and it turns out that the policy is only visible if you want to purchase tickets online on another website! I don't purchase my tickets online since I live next to the theater. I have been to this theater many times and its always in an adult movie that there are disruptions not from kids my sons age but from teenagers and other adults! I would rather see a kids movie than an adult movie for that very reason. I don't know how many times I have told someone else to put away a cellphone or to be quiet cause they were being disruptive but because my child MIGHT be a disruption I cannot bring him to the movies with me to see this comedy. There times also do not match up to peoples schedules there was no other time for that movie before 7:45 except at 4pm and I can't take my child at that time! This is absolutely unacceptable and until they actually do something about the people that are actually being disruptive I should be able to bring my child to any movie I deem fit!
nothing to do with that if that is their rules and regulation...
rude manager and no apology
My wife and I went to a movie (The Life Of Pi) for an 11:15 am showing on Feb. 1, 2013. Approximately 10 other people there. The movie was delayed and someone came in and said they didn't have the key to start the movie but it should be starting soon. They came back in several more times and finally after 45 minutes they told us there will be no showing...

Hello my name is Katie Kovac I have been working for amc for a short period of time but have already experienced a bunch of shady things that go on there. I am a server at a d.i.t. ( dine in theatre) and this first thing that happened was my paycheck I did not get my first check until a month of working there because in their system I was "accidentally fired" when I got hired. The manager had to take money out of his wallet so I wouldn't get evicted. Finally I receive my paycheck but am still not in the system so I cannot clock on. I was told when I started there, 3% of my tips go to tip share when in reality in 3% of my net sales and if I don't get tipped that night I have to reach in my personal money and pay them tip share. I am constantly doing busters and runners jobs while the smoke pot in the parking lot., My last few paychecks they have taken 60% of my check and held that money without explanation. When I do get hours I get out into ### movies because they say they need a strong person with their bad eggs to show them the ropes but that's putting a damper on tips. I was told we get paid time and a half for working holidays which is false. On several of my days that I work the schedule says I UN-allocated time and I did not receive pay. In Missouri if your a server it is completely illegal not to pay you minimum wage when you don't make at least minimum wage in tips that week and i have never seen an extra dime. The management expects 110% but when it comes to employee issues they don't care. I have not eaten in 3 days due to having no extra money after bills because they have screwed me over so much .they expect us to do other people jobs and then tip them out at the end of the night even though their all mostly hiding in theaters or smoking in the parking lot. People hide in theaters until they get a chance to leave. Management does not know how to control busters but have no problems telling the servers what to do. They make us run trays and buss theaters because they send all the people home early and even though those people were sent home I still have to tip them out. All in all amc is the worst possible company to work for, they treat their employees like garbage, pay us terribly, and expect us to give 110%

I currently work for AMC and everything you said is still going on, down to the smoking pot in the parking lot issue. It's crazy to see so many people saying the same thing.
bad ticket sale policy
Last night I attempted to get tickets for the Oscar Showcase event at the Loews AMC Theater in Homestead, PA. Like many repeat attendees, I had called customer relations repeatedly until I was told that they would go on sale at “6:00pm on January 16.” When I got to the theater at 5:00pm, I was pleased to see that there were only 10 or so people in line. Unfortunately, once I got in line, I was told that EACH AND EVERY VIP seating ticket was already spoken for – that in fact, a number of people in front of me would only be able to purchase regular admission tickets.
Just a few patrons were being allowed to buy up each and every ticket for a unique, one time only performance.
I began pursuing these tickets on January the 10th, the day after the nominations were announced. I was told by the staff that many people were calling about them, but that no plans had been made yet. I also kept checking on line, and became concerned when I noticed that many other theaters (outside of our area) had already begun selling tickets. Finally, on the 14th, I was told the sale date. I thought that the delay was because they were attempting to ensure that last year’s problems, where attendees were moved between different screening rooms and early arrivers lost their good seats, were being worked out.
Just before the tickets went on sale, a number of people showed up and “jumped” the line – walking up while tickets were being purchased and using their credit cards to break up the purchases into different payments. Also, many of the individuals that were buying tickets produced multiple AMC stubs cards in order to get “bonus bucks”. I watched as the first two people purchased at least 30 tickets each and used different cash and credit cards to break up the purchases.
The Lowes AMC Homestead PA Theater is hands down the best in the area. I have been singing the praises of VIP seating and eating in the restaurant for years. I used the VIP deal for my daughter’s 10th birthday party where a dozen kids got to experience the theater setting. I have recommended this type of movie experience to coworkers from as far away as Washington Pa and Cranberry Pa. Everyone that has tried it has thanked me for telling them about it.
I was told by Kevin, the manager that it is corporate policy not to limit ticket sales. But I was also told that because this was the only theater making VIP seating available for the Oscar Showcase, online sales were unavailable, and that the four day delay in making the ticketing arrangements available was because of this. I feel as though your staff handled this event in a bungled, unfair manner. I will be attending the Oscar Showcase viewing, but will never, ever promote your theater again.
giving out the wrong ticket - repeatedly
Over the last several days AMC theaters have been handing out the wrong ticket stubs. You walk up to the window, tell them the movie and time. They give you your total, you pay, get your tickets and walk away. Only to discover that you received tickets for "The Hobbit". This has been happening over and over despite complaints from customers. The theater...

AMC does not honor rewards! I earned rewards and went to use them the ticket cashier said there were no rewards available. I called the 800 number and was sent to the website to file a complaint. I received an email stating the rewards had expired. I tried to reply to the email stating when signing up for the program I was NOT informed in the paperwork or by the theater concierge there was an expiration date. I was unable to reply and was prompted to start over and submit a new complaint! Extremely disappointed and AMC is not upfront and honest about the program. They have lost my loyalty due to them not honoring the rewards and very very poor customer service!

quality of movie
I went to the 190-02 Horace Harding expressway AMC theater. The quality of the film was blurry. First I complained to a worker (twice) and finally got the manager. It was finally fixed 15 minutes before the movie ended.

I had a similar experience watching The Dark Knight at Woodinville 16 only this issue was with their sound quality. You could barely hear the dialogue since the background music was blaring. You would think that they do a check run before they roll the reel. Thank goodness they're not operating planes or we would all crash and burn. It has brought me to believe that quality of service within that company is reflective of the QUALITY of people they hire. Poor quality = poor character. Sorry for your experience.

May 1, 2012 - amc greed loses over $77 to save $14
We have a paraplegic and profoundly mentally disabled daughter in a wheelchair that we take everywhere we go. if she can’t go we don’t go. she cannot watch the movie but my husband, son and i wanted to see the hunger games so i called amc theaters in downtown disney to be sure we would not have to pay for a ticket for her. (when we go to regal cinemas at pointe orlando if the disabled person cannot watch the movie they have a companion pass which chargers for the disabled person but do not charge for the disabled person’s companion)
At the amc downtown disney 24, 1500 east buena vista dr., lake buena vista, fl 32830, [protected] i explained our situation to jarrod who referred me to his supervisor ryan who said he had to check with his boss who was valerie the manager. i was told by ryan that valerie said “it is amc’s policy to charge full price for her ticket whether she watches the movie or not.”
I called amc loews universal cineplex 20, 6000 universal blvd #740, orlando fl 32819, [protected] where i spoke to supervisor ann and was told “they charge for the handicapped whether they watch the show or not.”
I then called the amc customer care center at [protected] where i waited on hold for 10 minutes 21 seconds for rich to answer. i told him everything i had done, who i spoke to and what they said and was told he would “pass the information on but that was all he could do and someone would get back to me.” i asked to speak to a supervisor but rich said the supervisor could not do any more than he had done. it has been over 8 days and we have not heard back from anyone. this was more like the amc customer i don’t care center.
Amc lost the $45 for 3 adult tickets and approximately $32.50 for concession items because they wouldn’t waive the $14 for one ticket that couldn’t be used for the purpose it was sold. we enjoyed the movie at the regal cinemas at pointe orlando which was more accommodating to our circumstances. (our daughter slept through most of the movie)
We believe in the old adage, i tell 2 people, then they will tell 2 people, then they tell 2 people and so on and so on and so on. word of mouth is the best or worst advertisement for any business.
There are way too many people on this site who just don't understand people have the right to complain, aren't there? And competition is good, that's why businesses here don't always get away with being jerks. AMC is owned by China now though so things probably aren't going to get any better.
@SKOR I'm pretty sure there is no lesson involved in this. She didn't even watch the movie remember? They probably just can't leave her alone, but don't want to pay for an extra movie ticket if they have to be charged for someone who isn't watching. People here in the US like to go for the best deal we can get anyway, and if a company is willing to be kind to families in situations like this they'll get their business. Ones that care too much about the money? They generally won't and lose business in the long run. It's not really a good model if you're willing to lose money just because you won't try to be reasonably accommodating to people anyway. Now, if they were pretending she was mentally disabled just to get her in for free that's another story.
Last Thursday at 11:34 Brenda standard lexo time.
Your daughter's circumstances are very unfortunate, but I don't see why she is entitled to attend the movie without paying for a ticket.
This was communicated to you several times - it's nice that REGAL offers a companion pass, but that does not mean you are entitled to one from every theatre. You could have left her with a relative or a caregiver while the rest of your family attended the movie.
You are actually teaching her a very negative lesson - that she is "different", and should be treated as such by other people.
cost and stubs rewards charge
We (My wife and myself) frequent your theater's almost on a weekly basis, and for many years. I must tell you that we enjoy most of your theater's, some more than others. And we both feel that with the rise in ticket prices. We need to find deals when ever possible. So we joined stubs for the first year, only cause it was free. Now we are being asked to pay. We feel you make enough money from tickets (3d / imax) and your extremely expensive concession stands. We will not pay for a sevice that should be free. A true rewards program is just that, a reward or thank you for spending your money with us. I guess in your corporate arrogance you don't think we can spend are money's elsewhere. I wonder what other customers think?
worst first experience!
So today I decided that my cousin and I would go to the theaters to watch Paranormal Activity three. In the area where we live, you need an ID to watch a movie that's rated R. Which is understandable. So with that in mind, since I am old enough to go to the theaters, we went to the theaters and was greeted with a bunch of crowd. Reasonable though! Paranormal Activity 3 came out the night before. So in mind, we want to see Paranormal Activity 3 due to the fact that Halloween is coming! After about 20 minutes of being in line, we finally got to the ticket counter. I requested 2 tickets to see Paranormal Activity 3 and I gave my school ID. The lady turned and looked at me and said "We need your state ID to buy 2 ticket to see that movie."
WTF? ID is ID. Why do you need state ID to watch a movie? I do not get it. That's a bit crappy! ID is ID, why does STATE ID matter? A lot of us on the streets do not have state ID's. Plus, I am 18 years old ! I don't get it.
So if you live in NY, AMC Bay Plaza are one of those theaters you need to avoid. They go the extra mile over a one hour movie. What's the point? Wake up AMC Bay Plaza! Mostly teens and kids watch movies in the theaters now. We are paying to watch the movie. When you refuse to let us watch the movie because of us not having ID's such as STATE ID's. You loose business!
So I guess today ... instead of AMC Bay Plaza making about $6, 000 in a day ( just random numbers to help prove my point.) With the number of kids you all turned away today ... your figures tonight look more like $3, 000. That's a big LOST !
So people, avoid this place !
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Ryanbxd,
As it is stated above your school idea does not have a Date of Birth. The reason you need an ID is to show that you are at least 17 years old . AMC follows the MPAA rating system, which states that following:
"An R-rated motion picture, in the view of the Rating Board, contains some adult material. An R-rated motion picture may include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements, so that parents are counseled to take this rating very seriously. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated motion pictures unaccompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about R-rated motion pictures in determining their suitability for their children. Generally, it is not appropriate for parents to bring their young children with them to R-rated motion pictures."
We can not assume that you are a certain age because of the grade you are in. I understand your frustration, but in the future you will need documentation (it actually doesn't have to be a state ID) that shows your date of birth.
For more information on ratings please visit: http://www.mpaa.org/

Your student ID does not have a DOB on it.
You didn't miss anything. Horrible excuse for a film.
