Went in to have a drug screening done for a new position. Waited over 1 hour before I could be see having to use the restroom but holding it so I could provide what was needed for the drug screen. The ladies at the front desk are rude. I will NEVER be back to this location no matter how sick I am if they can’t even seem to properly do a drug screening.
Urgent care customer service experience
I came to urgent care on 10/16 because my sister and I were visiting my father and he tested positive. Thought it would be a quick easy, friendly, process like it has been at other locations. This Stoneham location was the worst location I've ever been to. The front desk staff is awful, not friendly, and seem inexperienced. They messed up my name which should be basic info so I couldn't get into my portal. Never got called with results so I had to physically come in again, when I realized they messed up. Would not recommend or ever come here again.
Desired outcome: I want my copay back and for the staff to get actual training on how to have bedside manner especially at an urgent care, and at least be able to enter basic information correctly.

Complaint-Assistance at yesterday's sick visit
Upon entering American Family Care in Ooltewah, TN, I was not told I could sign in. I asked if I should, and the assistant was of anger. Then I was called up and again with anger being told going to wrong window. After waiting forever in a room, the tech stood there for 10 mins just staring at us. Reluctantly, the tech call in amoxicillin. After leaving and calling 8 pharmacists, we found out this medicine is no longer available ANYWHERE. We called back and left a message for tech to call in another prescription. Upon returning my call, I was on another call and missed "Sara" return call. Now I call back and a VERY rude rep screamed at me then hung up the phone. I have patience. I think this company needs to teach them a course on patience especially when dealing with the public. Still trying to get issue resolve to care for our sick son.

Charged for no service
I cut my finger and they charged me a $40 copay but sent me somewhere else for treatment as a matter of fact they stopped me from leaving to check my vitals cause they didnt do it when I was called to the back. On 24th May I waited a total of 4 hrs (2) at each facility. This place does not value people lives and are Hippocrates. No one answers the phone in the corporate office and the recording states they close at 5:00pm. Multiple people have been calling since 12:00pm central standard times no answer.
Make sure you do a better job when people are sick. No matter what color they are. Don’t have patients waiting hours before coming in and lastly check on your patients if the doctor hasn’t been in. No one should have to walk out and try to find another doctor and hear people in the next room are being seen by the doctor, that has come after me. This is complete [censored] and a valuation of your Hippocratic oath.
Desired outcome: Make sure you do a better job when people are sick. No matter what color they are. Don’t have patients waiting. Insurance should not be charged for either visit.
was asked for a credit/debit card to put on file even though with my insurance I have no co-pay.
I visited the American Family Care in Gardendale, Alabama on Thursday March 23, 2023. I have visited this location on many occasions. I was informed that I would need to give them a debit/credit card to put on file, even though with my insurance I do not have a co-pay. I gave them the debit card I had with me. They then informed me that the card declined. I don't know why then ran my card because I had no co-pay. I asked to speak with the manager who was very rude and told me I would have to put a card on file, I was feeling ill and told her I would go next door to the bank and get a new card after I see the doctor. she told me to wait in the lobby. It took a while but I was seen and diagnosed with Bronchitis. I was given prescriptions and a injection. I went next door to my bank and got a card back to them to put on file. I was very displeased with the service I received concerning the credit card. I would like my card removed from the system.
Desired outcome: I would like my card removed from the system, I have been a victim of Identity theft and don't want that to happen again, I don't have a co-pay so why do they need a card on file.
The wait and what I'm here for
I've been waiting for two hours to have a TB test done. This don't make no sense also people that have come in after me have went to the back. Something needs to be done and they need people to help because the wait is ridiculous. I went to the huntsville location on wvitesburg drive for severe coughing and feeling ill. They diagnosed bronchitis, and told me they'd prescribe "z pack, inhaler and a cough medicine." they did not tell me what cough medicine at the clinic. Registration/ entire clinic
I visited your clinic in Pell city Alabama 12.15/22. I have recently started a new job and do not have my card at this time but I have all the information from blue cross. When checking in, your registration software would not allow me continue without taking a photo of the card. When asking your representative at the desk about skipping that part, she told me that I would have to be seen as self pay and pay 173.00. I pay over 500 a month I. Premiums so I do not have to pay that much and I suspect these are not your normal methods for dealing with this situation. If it is, please inform me so I can take my business elsewhere. Otherwise, please educate miss Brittany so this happens to no one else. Also, she stated she didn’t know I had my information. Why not question me or try to understand the situation better. She also hung up on me and my wife when I attempted to ask the same question. Great staff!

I checked in at the Midlothian AFC for a sick visit. I have a common name, Michael. The nurse nurse called Michael to go in the back and apparently another Michael jumped up and took my spot. Rather than the nurse verifying the patients information, they proceeded to document that patient under my name. I asked the receptionist if our appointments got mixed up, she said , no. I asked later when I would be called as I waited for 2 hours. The receptionist said I was in the back. I said, No, I was not, I was right here talking to her. The nurse never verified the patients personal identifiable information prior to providing medical care. This is pure negligence and a HIPAA violation that will be reported.

no copay no service
I went into Wetumpka Alabama AFC 12/07/22 for right shoulder pain. I filled out paperwork on phone then was called up to desk by receptionist for 20.00 copay I didn't have the copay til next day so I asked if I could write a check for next day to be deposited Receptionist went to back and asked a guy at copier she came back and said no. So i asked So I can't be seen? She said," No, come back when you have the copay." I had her shred everything paper I filled out and went across the street to an urgent care was seen no problem without paying copay. Ya'll missed out on insurance money and you don't ever have to worry about me coming back there.

I am being charged way too much for several visits to the walk-in clinic. American Family Care was on my preferred list at my APWU (Cigna) insurance website. But the doctor was not apparently and my insurance claims that charges for off hours and weekend days are not appropriate for a walk-in clinic. The bill is almost $1000 and it will be a tremendous burden to pay it.
There was no mention from the clinic about the doctor being out of network. The charges for each visit was $917 and I went four times. I have called and each time, they have said they are waiting on a response from the doctor, but I would like this settled.
Desired outcome: I should have been charged $25 a visit for each visit and did pay twice for a total of $50. I should owe you $50 for the other two visits instead of $986.78!
Gadsden, AL - front office
The Gadsden afc office was my primary. I have been seen there twice in recent months for a UTI. (Beginning 7/8/22 I believe.)
My last appt, they referred me to a urologist, (appt 11/28/22) due to a bladder prolapse. (my 4th, 3 prev bladder surgeries)
I needed continuing care until 11/28 for the UTI & had also developed a lack of ability to urinate,
In early November, I signed in at the Gadsden AFC Office. The receptionist asked very personal, private medical questions in front of everyone in the lobby, and then told me there was NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO FOR ME, SINCE I HAD BEEN REFERRED TO A SPECIALIST. Everyone was looking & listening because when I turned around, everyone was staring straight at me.
ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE that office staff is making medical decisions for me. I will never return.
I drove to the urologist office for advice, I was at a loss. They immediately said your primary is the place to go. I explained what had just happened at AFC, they said the ER is my only option.

visit for flu like symptoms
When I arrived to the urgent care in Ballantyne last night, I was understanding to the over hour wait. When I had already paid 125.00 for just the visit. I was then swabbed for flu as requested by the CMA who only took vitals of BP, and o2 stat and pulse with the automatic machine. When the provider entered the room, the literal actions were: Introduction, put exam gloves on, asked some questions, and then said would send in Tamiflu. Then that was it. Those gloves did not check my swollen lymph nodes, my TEMPRATURE was not checked. My throat was not looked at. My 8 year old son could have given a better check on me. I am disappointed. I could have paid less and got better care else where but due to the reviews I put trust in this visit, only to be deceived.
Desired outcome: Refund for my self pay, I literally waited over hour with my 2 year old after work at 8 pm trying to just make sure I can keep working and was not fully given care.

Location1562 Montclair Birmingham AL. Had an extremely long wait. Receptionist did not inform before checking in about there only being one doctor on today 10/30/2022. Waited an hour and a half before getting back to the room(normal wait time). Over another twos hour before a doctor came in the room that was the part that got me. It wasn’t even that busy. I will do my best to never visit again!
Went in for xray and check after mountain bike acccident
Our docs on call was busy so they recommended AFC as it was brand new. Super long wait, which we knew about, but the care was less than adequate.
Called 10 times before we were able to get a referral of the care to our Dr.
The xrays were never sent to our Dr.
They did not provide any information on after care.
As for the care at the center, waited in a cold room for over an hour and only got assistance when left the room and went back to the front desk.
Xrays were repeated by our own Dr. since we never got them.
Received a bill for over $900 and called immediately to discuss and ask for a detailed statement and conversation.
Never got a call back.
Got an urgent request for payment, called again and was told they were actually a medical billing service and had not patient advocacy resources.
Still refuting this, will not accept this level of care.
We are lucky to have time to dispute this and pursue, many people don't.
Desired outcome: Complete review of the time spent there. Discount for Xrays that were never sent and for cast on arm that was not broken.
Urgent Care Visit SEMINOLE FL
Upon visiting the SEMINOLE FL location for something that got into my eye, I was shocked by the treatment of both the medical assistant, DARRELL HOPPS, ARPN and Physician’s Assistant ERICA MARTIN,PA.
When I was being checked in by DARRELL, he asked me if I was allergic to any medications. I told t him yes and write it down on my intake form. When the PA, ERICA saw me, again she asked if I was allergic to any medications. I said yes. Then she proceeds to prescribe me drops for my eyes that was the very same medication I was allergic to! I can’t imagine what that would have done to my eyes if I filled that prescription but I caught it. So I told them when I walked out it the exam room. Then DARRELL told me to go back into the exam room to wait for ERICA to come back out. I sat on a stool near the door where DARRELL proceeded to slam the exam door on my foot causing it to BLEED! He told me I want wearing a mask and forced the door close on my foot. (Nobody was wearing any masks in that entire office that day). When ERICA came out, DARRELL kept coming for me talking trash so much that ERICA told DARRELL to back off. I was so mortified and embarrassed. All I needed was a different script that wouldn’t permanently injure my eyes. I am in the process of filing a suit against the clinic. This is inexcusable. I walked out with a bleeding toe. DO NOT EVER GO TO THE SEMINOLE CLINIC. They do not care about your best interest. My attorney has everything now and will handle from here
Desired outcome: DISCIPLINARY ACTION TAKEN FOR ERICA MARTIN AND DARRELL HOPPS. And whatever the court decides to do on my behalf after this nightmare
