I bought the chair on February 3rd, 2019. Within the first 2 days of owning chair I couldn't put the leg rest down by myself. The wood for the lumbar support digs in my back. I paid $399.00 for the chair and it's a piece of crap. I bought it in the process of moving and lost the receipt. I had just buried my daughter in December, lost my house that we shared together. So there was alot going on. I'm on disability and buying this chair put me way back. I'm just now getting caught up on everything. But because this chair is very poorly made and no one seems to care all the money I'm out. The leg rest will come up some but it won't go all the way up and it won't close. The wood underneath is bent. We have to flip the chair over to get leg rest to go down. So now I'm not only out the $399.00 for this piece of crap I have to go buy another chair. I wish there was somes way I could let everyone in the world know you're all a rip off. I've read reviews about this chair and they're all bad especially about the leg rest.
reclining sofa set
On 08/31/2018 I bought sofa and love seats included full warranty for everything from American furniture. The seats arrived with a big scratch on the arm of the sofa and broken arm on the same side which was due to the way the delivery people dragged the sofa set to my house. Once I have realized the scratch I called American Furniture on the second day...

Hi. I bought a couch, love seat, chair, and three different ottomans from Nebraska furniture in 2015. The couch was from clearance and the only thing wrong with it from the paperwork and what I was told was a small defect in the fabric. I searched for 8-9 months looking for the perfect couch set. This one was the winner right away and I had see it at other stores. When Nebraska opened in Texas I just happened to see it in their store too, and on sale. Backing up a little bit... I bought a house a month before I bought the couch set. I decided I was going to start buying pieces when I found a great deal and what I loved and I LOVE THIS COUCH SET! I have recommended it to tons of people. When I bought it, I had the delivery men put it in the "formal living room". For two years it was NEVER sat in at all. I just had it ready for when I put hardwood floors in and painted my house and all that. I stored all the furniture I wanted in there. Well, a few weeks ago I finally finished buying everything I wanted for the living room and decided to set the couch and all the pieces up for make a living room area. I had two men and myself lifting everything and it was only from one room to another. When we got it all complete, I sat down in the couch and the entire back part snapped in half. I was bruised slightly on the neck and had a little back pain but I am fine now, no worries on that end from me. However, where the couch snapped is right where the defect in the fabric was... the exact spot. So I called Nebraska to ask about it and of course it being two years said they couldn't do anything. I called your company and I got a super rude lady (maybe she was just having a bad day) and she told me that your company does nothing once it's given to another company. So now I have a broken couch that I have only been able to use one time. I love it so much that I am probably going to break down and buy another one once my budget allows. I have had SEVERAL friends buy the same couch and change out the pillow since they love the color, look, and mainly the feel just from being at my house. I am just wondering if their is anything that can be done on your end. If I had broken it or felt like this was my fault I wouldn't be taking time to write. I really feel that a piece of bad wood was used and that is the reason the fabric had a default in that spot too. I assume your company and Nebraska didn't know. It would had broken years ago if I had only used it... I just never sat in it once it got delivered. Like I said... I had been shopping a ton for several months before buying and new I was in love with it. Any help would be great! I contacted a furniture repair company but they want more money to fix it than what it's even worth. Thanks for your time.

Absolutely terrible website!! Dirty sofa
We purchased a sofa from American Furniture Manufacturing for our living room and when we received it we were extremely disappointed and immediately contacted the company. We ordered a bone color sofa and the back of it was covered with small dark stains. Customer service rep was not interested in helping us. When we explained what was the problem he said that we could try and clean those stains off and that in his opinion that was not a big deal since it was the back side which no one sees. They have the most unprofessional support ever! We wasted a lot of time and nerves but in the end they finally agreed to replace the sofa and promised that someone will arrive to pick the dirty one. Well, they did promise a replacement but I have a bad feeling about this.
Do not bother ordering from this store, they are absolutely terrible!
Quality issue
I bought a couch from American Furniture Manufacturing six months ago and must say that my couch looks terrible. Quality of material is absolutely rubbish and cheap. When I just bought the couch I did not notice that, from the first sight it looked fine.
I did not bother to contact them because I know they will do nothing to help. I saw all the terrible reviews online and I regret I purchased from this seller. I want to warn others, better find another place to buy furniture.
I purchased a reclining couch AF8507-1915 Aug 3 2015 my husband and I are in late 50's couch was hardly sat on, but $600+ dollars later it was placed out at the curb for trash to pick up. I would suggest to NEVER buy anything from this company, quality cheap and they provide you nothing but excuses, they should be shut down for people don't want to flush their money down the toilet.
We bought a couch and brought home. It looked fine till my grandson sat down on it and the back board cracked. He hardly sat down. we are afraid to sit on it and of course there was no warranty because it was discontinued style. Very bad manufacturing would not recommend this furniture. Made from the cheapest wood that I think they can find. I can not believe sitting on a brand new couch would happen. Very upset
Do not buy their brand.
We have purchased a leather sofa from American Furniture Manufacturing company and the one we received had several damages and leather looked worn. Contacted the company and they offered us a replacement. They were very professional and it did not take a long time to receive a new sofa. But the second one looked the same as the first one! When I called them again they claimed that leather was supposed to look worn! I told them that it did not look like that on their website and they said that there was something wrong with my screen. What a joke.
Purchased a sofa brought it home and had it one day. Someone sat down on it and the back cracked all across the top. I can't believe this was made in the USA and is made so shoddy. We are afraid to sit on it now. I wish we had kept the one we threw away. Don't buy from this Company pure junk!
Did not deliver what was promised
1st one 8 years ago (full livingroom set), they had called and said our order was in and would be delivered the next day. So in the mean time, we got rid of all our furniture and prepared for the next day delivery. The next morning, AFW called and said they made a mistake with the order and would be 2 more weeks until they could fullfill the order. We went without furniture for 2 weeks, amongst family who came in 2 days after the original delivery was scheduled.
2nd one 2/12/2013, just happened today. Last week, the day before we ordered the bedroom set we wanted, I had called to make sure if we ordered that we would not have to wait weeks to receive the items we wanted. AFW said it is in stock and would be delivered as early as 48 hours of purchase, so we went in the next day to order and schedule delivery. Upon placing and paying for the order, they told us that the end pieces (that attach to the bed) and head board was on back order, but it did not hender the delivery and putting the main bed together and that we would have to wait for 1.5 weeks to get the rest. Delivery happened today and when they got here, they told us that they could not put the main frame together, until the rest of the pieces come. They could see that we had no bed to sleep in, since we got rid of old bedroom set the day before, so we could be ready for todays delivery. Outcome, we now have 4 huge boxes laying in the bedroom and plastic over the new mattress, telling us we can not remove the protective covering over the new mattress until the rest of the bed is delivered. Again, we are stuck and at AFW mercy of fullfilling their obligation. When I called AFW customer service they told us that they should not of delivered an incomplete order like this, that we can have them p/u the things we purchased and pick out a differant set or we can leave everything and wait the 1-1.5 weeks to receive the rest of the order. SO we are now SOL and inconvenienced yet again, sleeping on the floor until!?! The best they could say was sorry, just like the last time (8years ago) this happened! 8 years and you would think they would of changed this sort of thing. Now we unhappily wait again!
On average I would say they do deliver as promise. Both of my cases were probably unique, but it happened, is happening and it shouldn't of happen. Most items are in stock at the warehouse, but if they are out, then the hold up can take place. I never said I will not buy from them ever again, I will just be more cautious next time.
For affordable/descent furniture, there is no competition for AMF.
Poor Quality
Purchased a 2 piece couch & love seat set 2 years ago and paid around $1, 200 for the set. Within a month of owing the set the love seat broke. We returned to the store where we purchased it and they returned it to the manufacturer (american furniture) to be repaired. It was supposed to take a couple of weeks and it took almost 2 months. Now, the furniture is completely broke down with the main supports along the back being completely broken. One of the springs also broke. The frame is made of cheap pine wood and it's about 1"x2". That's the main support to the couch. I contacted the manufacturer and they said they have a one year warrenty. That's about right. $1, 200 for one year of use. That's a bit steep if you ask me! I will NEVER purchase a piece of furniture made by them. They've been in business 14 years and that's 13 years too long. Their business should have only lasted as long as they furniture they manufacturer. Do your research before you purchase. We went with this oversized set because it looked nice and durable. It's not. We are normal sized people who don't abuse the furniture. Their furniture is just made cheaply.

I bought a reclining loveseat as well. The release to recline one side of the loveseat broke within 2 months. It was purchased at American Freight. American Freight and American Furniture Manufacturing will not stand buy the products they sell or the manufacture.
NO WARRANTY GIVEN
I PURCHASED A NEW COUCH - 10/15/2010 AT AMERICAN FURNITURE WAREHOUSE IN LAKEWOOD, CO I ASKED TO RECEIVE A WRITTEN WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE FOR ANY MALFUNCTION, WITH THE NEW COUCH THAT MAY OCCUR, WITHIN A TIME LIMIT PROVIDED BY WHOMEVER. I checked with the salesman prior to purchasing furniture on Novemeber 4, 2008 that the pieces were in stocked. He assured me they were there and set up a delivery date. I took the day off from work for the delivery. I received no telephone call as requested earlier. At 5 PM I called the store to ask about the delivery. It was sold to another and they had to order more, which would take "no more than 10 days". First of all, the furniture was tagged as sold to be delivered and another salesman took the tag off. Second, they made no attempt to notify me that they had to order another one. I received a telephone call a week later stating it would be another 2 weeks before a delivery. In the meantime they cashed the check. Today is nov 20, 2008 and still no furniture. The assistant manager said they were having problems with their employees selling items already sold but offered no compensation or cash return. I really do not care about who they hire. That's the company's problem. I want my money back to go elsewhere. I have to buy more furniture but NEVER NEVER NEVER from this company again.
BAD QUALITY FURNITURE!
DO NOT BUY FROM AMERICAN FURNITURE!
I purchased a reclining love seat almost 2 years ago. It has been repaired 2 times by the store I bought it rom. The store has gone out of business. The company (American Furniture) now says it is only a 1 year warranty - when I was told different by the store.
Their furniture is JUNK and will not hold up! They will not stand by their product at all!
Purchased a recliner from this manufacturer 18 months ago. within a week, the foot rest seam opened and most of the padding fell out. The frame has fallen apart several times. Arms fell off, remote control pendant case fell apart, fasteners came loose, the recliner mechanism locked up routinely, and the if reclined, the chair fell over backward multiple times. These recliners are a health hazard to any older person who buys one. They are poorly assembled (example - 38 staples in one arm joint just to retain the arm supporting nothing more than its own weight. Staples were too short, and only penetrated adjoining frame member by about 1/4". So many staples that the wood split into a useless pulp.) Recliner is complete junk at this point and is being sent to the dump where it should have been sent the day they made it.
I purchased a living room set made by American Furniture Manufacturing from Rooms to Go. The furniture did not hold up a year. And, I'm a single mom with one child - not like a lot of people using the furniture or a house full of kids and animals. The frame is falling a part and fabric is in shreds. It's one of the biggest regrets I have for an expensive purchase. I'm still paying off the Rooms to Go credit card but already want to throw the furniture in the dumpster, because I doubt I could get anyone to take this furniture for free. Very, very poor quality.
I do agree with this person as well. I bought the Waverly Godiva Collection, and it didn't even hold up in a year of having it. The seat cushion started being flat, and little white fibers were sticking out of the seat fabric. Its cheap furniture being sold at high prices. When I buy furniture, I would like it last more then one year!
Poor service!
American Furniture repair man, said our leather furniture is painted and the paint is peeling. I told American furniture I had never heard of painting leather. Customer service said The repair man should have never told me it was painted. American furniture refuses to replace my love seat. It has been used for less then a year.
Poor service!

I bought the stratolounger stallion snuggle up recliner and I love it! My only problem is finding a cover that will fit! My dog always lays on it with me and I don’t want the material getting damaged, other than that it’s a great chair!
