Respectful, informed, process driven, excellent problem solvers and good company!
Respectful, informed, process driven, excellent problem solvers and good company! I had a great experience with American Stream Solar, Inc. They were really respectful and knowledgeable. They followed a good process and were able to solve any problems that came up. They are a good company overall!
excellent experience from initial dealins with Henry in sales to the installation managed by Pedro
excellent experience from initial dealins with Henry in sales to the installation managed by Pedro. highly recommend American Stream Solar. i had solar at a different residence and the company i used was a disaster; with American Stream Solar it was seamless.
I wouldn't give them one star, even though that's the lowest rating allowed
I wouldn't give them one star, even though that's the lowest rating allowed. I signed a contract in early September, but it wasn't until the end of November that the installation was completed. It's been three months now, and I still don't have any power. Whenever I call, they always say it will be another week before it's fixed. It's really frustrating because it's hard to get someone to answer the phone, and if I leave a voicemail, I don't expect a call back.
We wanted to cancel our contract with American Stream Solar, Inc
We wanted to cancel our contract with American Stream Solar, Inc., but they informed us that the cancellation fee was a whopping $10k, which had to be paid immediately. If we didn't comply, they threatened to place a lien on our house. These folks are really persistent and forceful, and they won't accept "no" as an answer. It's best to steer clear of this company and seek alternatives elsewhere.
I recommend American Stream Solar because they put customer satisfaction first
I recommend American Stream Solar because they put customer satisfaction first. My project had many challenges like permit delays due to Covid-19 and homeowner association restrictions, but their staff didn't make excuses, they found solutions. They made going green easy and I couldn't be happier with the money I'm saving every month on my energy bills. Chuck Hurlbrink Homeowner North Carolina.

American Stream Solar is an amazing team and just overall good people, very professional
American Stream Solar is an amazing team and just overall good people, very professional. We couldn't be any happier with the service we received from this company. Awesome benefits as well, like up to $500 electric bill paid while equipment being installed, to the $1000 rebate you get after it's set up and a $500 referral for anyone who goes solar with this company. Highly recommend American Stream Solar.
Very happy with the service I received with this company
Very happy with the service I received with this company. With all the benefits that are included, like up to $500 electric bill paid for while equipment is being installed, to the $1000 rebate you get after it's set up, to a $500 referral for anyone who goes solar, helps a lot and really it's a really good deal. Of course, you're not gonna get maximum performance on a cloudy day, that is just evident, but on the days you do have a nice sunny day, best believe it's performing. I would recommend anybody to this company as they worked with me all the way in NM, so they're willing to go coast to coast to make this world a better place as they say. 100% satisfied.

American Stream Solar was paid to install a solar system, but the system never worked
American Stream Solar was paid to install a solar system, but the system never worked. They have refused to fix the issue.
On a certain date, I complained about my faulty Solar System Inverter
On a specific day, I complained about my malfunctioning Solar System Inverter. I had already contacted the contractor and the manufacturer, and they both told me to reach out to this company for troubleshooting. I have talked to a representative several times at this company, but I found out yesterday that she no longer works there. The last time I spoke to her was on 6/30/22. My electric bill has tripled because of this issue, and I'm still making payments for this system on top of that!
Me and my hubby got this solar thingy from American Stream Solar in 2017
Me and my hubby got this solar thingy from American Stream Solar in 2017. It's still hooked up to the grid and I noticed our electric bills went up lately (August ). I messaged the only phone number I had and they told me to talk to American Stream directly, so I did. It's already the first week of November and they still haven't sent someone to fix our system. I've sent a bunch of emails and texts. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, no way!

Our solar thingy got put in last May for $***
Our solar thingy got put in last May for $***. It's been kinda working since June. They still haven't fixed it. The sales and design peeps promised us it would make extra power right from the start. It's this big ol' system on the ground that cost about $***. They finished it in May , but it's been running at less than half capacity since late June. They know there's a problem, but they ain't fixed it yet. They keep canceling the work dates, and they haven't offered any money or anything to make up for it. They told us if we try to fix it ourselves, we'll lose all the warranties.
This company is really expensive for solar panels
This company is really expensive for solar panels. I was sick in June when I signed the contract. I asked for a few months before installation because of my illness. They checked my credit twice in the past 7 months, and now they want to check it again this month. My credit is locked. They still haven't installed my solar panels. I went to a local company here in *** and they were $12,000 to $13,000 cheaper. I don't recommend *** because he's been threatening me. I told him I wanted to renegotiate the contract, but he refuses. Now they want to charge me $10,000 to cancel the contract. Avoid them.
I bought a solar system from American Stream Solar, Inc
I bought a solar system from American Stream Solar, Inc. in July for $22,000, which included installation and warranty. Everything was working fine until March 2022, when it suddenly stopped working. They sent a technician to figure out the problem, and he identified the issue and ordered the necessary part. However, when the part arrived, it turned out to be the wrong one. They tried again in September 2022, but unfortunately, they sent the same incorrect part once more.
Since April, I've been calling them once or twice a week, hoping to get some answers. However, every time I call, it goes straight to voicemail, and no one ever returns my calls. I've only managed to speak to a person twice, and they promised to get back to me, but they never did. Today, on September 19, 2022, I still haven't received a call back.
In January , I looked for solar companies and stumbled upon American Stream Solar - ***
In January , I looked for solar companies and stumbled upon American Stream Solar - ***. I did some research and didn't find anything concerning, so I set up a meeting with ***. I can't go into too much detail here due to limited space. They mentioned that it would take around a month to install the solar system in *** home. However, even in August, after 7 months, there was still no installation. Later, I discovered that the solar system's size was too small for *** house, so I decided to upgrade it to a 10KW system. Finally, in September , the solar system was installed, but it wasn't fully completed until the end of October or mid-November. Unfortunately, since its final completion over 10 months ago, the Solar System display has shown no solar production since 11/6. This has occurred multiple times since its completion. I've tried calling and emailing ***, but I haven't received any response or assistance, despite the fact that there is a 25-year warranty. Currently, my $70K solar system, which is only *** years old, isn't functioning or generating any solar power. *** hasn't reached out to me, emailed me, or taken any steps to fix the solar system and honor the 25-year warranty. I want my solar system to be repaired and functioning properly as soon as possible.
The salesman promised my electric bill would only be a minimal amount plus taxes monthly.
When the salesmen sold me the solar system, he said I would be getting a minimal bill from my electric company plus taxes per month. He lied. The solar system they installed hasn't reduced my electric bill to the promised minimal amount. My last electric bills were far higher than promised by Tucson Electric Power. My salesman's name is omitted. The unit was purchased on 1/31, installed on 6/09, and activated shortly after. I paid a significant amount for this system. It was financed by All In Credit Union with a specific loan number. I made payments on set dates to maintain a low interest rate. I now demand they double the panels and add a battery backup to ensure my bill is the ten dollars they promised. Sincerely
The panels were installed back in February
The panels were installed back in February. I contacted the company because my electric bill didn't show any credit. They finally came and checked it and said it was working now. The next month only showed a small credit. I called and they said it was because of when it was fixed and the billing date. Every month, I kept getting just a little over $20 credit. I called back and they said I probably needed more panels. I kept calling and they finally sent someone to look at the system. It needed a part. It's been 6 or 7 months now. They said the part would be delivered and to call them when I received it. I've called every 2 weeks and can't get an ETA for when they'll come install the part. I'm paying the loan for the system and the electric company. It's been 15 to 16 months now paying both, which has been tough with the pandemic and reduced wages. In the summer, my electric bill is over $250, plus the solar loan. I called them about a week ago and they said they would call me back with an ETA, but I haven't heard anything yet. They say they're short-staffed and busy installing new panels. It's summer now and temperatures are in the 90s. Please, if you can help get it repaired. A credit for the last 13 months would be helpful. To me, it's not even a repair since a $20+ credit each month is not something I would consider as ever working. I understand everyone has problems with the pandemic, but I think 15 months is about all the patience I have right now.
I been with this company for 2 yrs
I been with this company for 2 yrs. There was a rough start, but that was resolved. I didn't have any more problems until I needed to have the panels removed and put back after we put a new roof on. That was April last year. Later I noticed that something was wrong with the panels because when I viewed the panels on the app American Stream Solar told me to use, their color was different, indicating problems. It took about 2 months of begging them to fix them. They kept saying they were in the shade, but nothing new grew or was put on my property since April. I eventually paid to cut trees limbs down just to fix the problem. It didn't. They finally came out again & said there was some damage to electrical connections. They "fixed" them twice, but the panels still showed a problem. I've since begged, pleaded and cried trying to get them to fix the panels. They just removed my ability to view my panels on mysolaredge app for myself only allowing me to view activity (not how they were working) and won't let me have access back. Now I have an electric bill over 4 times it has EVER been since I got the panels & all they do is tell me it's working. I asked again to get my access to watch my panels and they won't respond now. My property now looks bad because of the tree limbs being cut. I would like full access back for the panels and have them worked on until the panels show they're working properly. And I would like this month's electric bill to be paid or reimbursed and reimbursement for the tree limbs I had to pay to have cut that were obviously not the problem.
I had a really bad experience with American Stream Solar, Inc
I had a really bad experience with American Stream Solar, Inc. They completely ignored my safety concerns and their customer service was terrible. At first, they were nice and helpful, but as soon as I signed the contract, their customer service disappeared. Let me start by talking about the installer they sent. There was absolutely no communication, and when they finally showed up to estimate the installation, the person tried to undercut American Stream Solar by offering a cheaper price. That's really shady. I complained about this to a customer service representative named ***.
Now let me tell you about my experience with *** and *** from American Stream Solar. After the contract was signed, I never heard from them unless I called them first. It was really frustrating. Now let's talk about the safety concerns I had with the installation. When the installer finished, I had to force him to give me information about the system because he wouldn't say anything otherwise. I expressed my concerns about the breaker switches that were moved without being properly labeled. This is a violation of the National Electrical Code and it's very unsafe. The installer didn't want to fix it, so I immediately contacted *** at American Stream Solar. But she always claimed to be in a meeting and never returned my calls. It seems like they're ignoring me because I've been calling for weeks and still haven't gotten a response.
All I want is for them to address my safety concerns and the fact that their installation violates the National Electrical Code. No one other than the American Stream Solar contractor inspected the installation, and they're the ones who did it unsafely in the first place. I have emails and text messages that prove how long this whole process took, even with the COVID situation. They also show that if I didn't reach out to them, they wouldn't contact me at all. They've made it clear that they don't care about my safety concerns by refusing to respond to my messages. If you can provide me with an email address or a text line, I can send you the messages as proof because I don't know what else to do.
Solar rooftop system does not produce energy as contracted for, and support department does not respond to calls/emails at all
Solar rooftop system does not produce energy as contracted for, and support department does not respond to calls/emails at all. I am writing to let you know that your customer support after the sale couldn't be worse. I purchased a roof-mount solar system in December . I discussed multiple times with my sales representative that my goal was to pay MID only their connection fee. He agreed. The system I specifically requested, and the one that was sold to me for ***, was one that I was told would provide most or all of my historic daily kWh requirements. After the system was installed and running in mid-June , I was concerned that my electric bills were still very high. I contacted ***, my project manager, right away with the July electric bill, and he said he would study it and get back to me. Nothing happened. In August I got another very high electric bill from MID and notified *** again. Again, he said to send him the bill. Then nothing. I was not able to get my Solar Edge monitoring site link for 3 months, despite requesting it through weekly calls and emails to your company. Finally, I got it by contacting the installer directly and finding a helpful worker there. Now that I finally can monitor my solar production, I can see that the system is producing, at peak on a clear August day, about 2 kWh, though it is rated for 3.54 kWh. I understand the factors of atmospheric smoke & ash, and inverter losses, but it still seems too low. I let *** know I have concerns, and he just totally stopped responding to my calls and emails. I have called DAILY and sent emails to your company's support department that my system is not performing as I contracted for, with the standard response (from "***") that a support department manager will call me back right away. Nothing. Crickets. This would be getting hilarious if it weren't costing me so much money every day that goes by. I have emailed "***", my supposed support person at American Stream Solar, specifically detailing my concerns and requesting an on-site inspection. At first, I received meaningless assurances via email that the "system was functioning normally". One week ago, I requested an on-site inspection to determine whether the system I paid for can be made to produce the energy I contracted for. I have had NO response from "***". Nothing. I have included a table showing my historical usual energy usage and the solar production for July through October. Please notice that the solar panels are producing 30 to 60% of my monthly historical energy needs, rather than near 100%. Clearly, I am not getting what I paid for. I want satisfaction. Please advise what my options are if your support department will just not answer me.
I started thinking about getting solar in Jan 2020 and now it's Aug 2020, but the project still isn't finished
I started thinking about getting solar in Jan 2020 and now it's Aug 2020, but the project still isn't finished. We're stuck paying the loan and electric bill. We picked where the panels would go on the roof, but the first plan was completely wrong. They fixed it, but it made me question their organization. Then, because I had some electrical work done and talked to the city inspector, he told me to involve him in the process. They sent me permits to fill out, but I couldn't because I don't have Adobe PDF and didn't want to pay to change documents. The permits had someone else's info on them, which was weird. After I told them I couldn't do it, they filled out the permits, which I think is their job. Then, there was a long period of silence. I didn't hear anything from them in Feb, March, or April. I thought maybe it was because of COVID, but construction was still going on. Finally, I reached out to them and weeks later, they installed the panels. They did a sloppy job, though. There's a screw or nail poking through my overhang, and I'm worried about it when it rains. They also gave me some interior thing with unclear instructions on how to use it. They left packaging and tools all over my yard, and it took them days to come pick them up. Now, the loan people keep calling me to remind me to pay, even though it's not due yet. They've called, emailed, and texted me a total of 7 times. Every time they call, they try to sell me something else. It's annoying. Thanks to *** for choosing them as their loan people. Then, my boyfriend traded a dual sport motorcycle for a Jeep, and the guy he traded with happened to be a city inspector. He told us that the solar stuff isn't up to code. I contacted *** about it, and they seemed confused. More lack of communication. Then, ***, who is a local and did part of the install, contacted me saying they need to come by. The city inspector came too, but no one told me anything. I had to check my cameras to find out what was going on. Apparently, they needed to install a meter spot. So, more people came another day. I asked if it was done, and *** said yes, except for one more thing that would be done that day. But it's still not done. Our electric bill was high last month and even higher this month. Plus, we have a loan payment of around ***, which I'm paying extra on to avoid it going up in 18 months. Adeel from *** solar said they would pay the loan payment, but it's been a month and we still haven't received a check. He said the check would go out a week ago, but still no check. I make *** per hour, so if I calculate the time I've spent chasing them and waiting for the service they promised, I could send them a bill for all that time. This whole experience has been so frustrating and has ruined the excitement of going solar. The lack of communication and disorganization is just awful.
Your drop down for concerns only allowed one, but it involves all listed, from advertising fraud, product & guarantee to non-responsive to calls
Your drop down for concerns only allowed one, but it involves all listed, from advertising fraud, product & guarantee to non-responsive to calls, text. As a Sr. Consumer, I was contacted by the company stating it was a program being offered to us to help cut the cost of energy bills in half at first but would eventually with saved credits eliminate the electric bill totally with even the possibility of money coming back to me because of saved energy. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. After I was qualified for the program, a contract was e-mailed to me. Had problems reading on the computer so asked direction to print off to read first; and was told the only way it would print I had to scroll down to the bottom and select submit, only later to be told, sorry you actually signed our contract for the deal. That was 8/23. Constant lack of communication with me was addressed by e-mails sent. Delays in sending out the product and having it installed was so much so that the finance company started invoicing me and the system was not connected yet! With the assistance of the finance company, who I told I refused to pay for something not working, they finally responded. The unit was installed with no directions, no Warranty in writing, no apps to follow the output of the unit, no contact for service. NOTHING. The utility company got involved because of the unit causing problems in their system, came out and disconnected the unit because it continued to give a faulty signal. This was in January . The utility company tried to work with the office via *** and *** who promised to cover Rusk Co. Electric charges and 3-way with the installer, *** who made promises to fix the matter. They all lied to me about returning calls to the electric company. Upon a scheduled return of the electric supervisor, on the phone he was instructed on what to do to clear the default and the unit was reinstated. My electric bill showed from *** tops in credit! I was told to give the unit time to perform at its max. I continued to reach out to this company to express concern about promises made, no warranty nor directions ever being sent and to this day, NO RESPONSE from them! My only option was to reach out to Dividend Finance to inform that I was not receiving what I was promised; but continued in good faith to make not only the required payment but large payments to show my good faith as a Consumer to do my part and pay for the unit. In September, I personally contacted the installer, who informed me that he was only a subcontractor for the company, but because they would not respond to my request for a return visit to my home to relocate/and re-install the panels, he came at my request, and I paid him out of pocket *** He informed me that because of the poor quality of the product, and it not performing as it should, he was no longer working for or with American Stream Solar. I made an official complaint with Dividend Finance, only to now find that they too are not working with the company. Why, they would not divulge, except to say that on another case similar to mine, they would not respond back. I am now working with the finance company who requested me to send copies of my utility bills to them for their in-house preview of the matter. They informed me that I was not receiving what I should have until the change in September, but still it is not a large credit being generated from the panels. It is no doubt that we are both at a lost, because they paid American Stream Solar in full for this faulty product, and now want me to pay them back in full for something that was never delivered. As of this day, the *** dollars (not including the *** for the resetting of the panels) is more than enough for the junk that is now an eye-soar on my house. They have faded and discolored quickly. Instead of being a 2-year-old system, they look more like 10 years old. I feel that I have not only been scammed by American Stream Solar from the beginning but have been disrespected and taken advantage of to the point of complete dismissal. They got their money and ran! I highly recommend that others not deal with them!
