The worst insurance company I have ever dealt with
The worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I have also filed a complaint with the State Attorney General's Office. this company needs to be investigated for fraud and for unethical business practices towards the consumer. I implore everyone who has ever had an issue with this company, to also file a formal complaint with the State Attorney General. I gave a one star rating, because a star rating was required to leave a review. I actually give them a ZERO rating.

American Traditions Ins
American Traditions Ins. Co. is the worst of the worst. I request for a Loss History report from them and have been given the run around; the CS said it couldn't be sent by email so they have to mail it; guess what? 10 days later and I still haven't received it. I call numerous of time looking for this report and each time they said it already went out & they don't have a record of the report.
What kind of business does not keep a copy of inquiries. So much time have wasted, I have no choice but to request for another. It's like they don't want to give you the report because they afraid you might shop for some where else. Customer service is horrible, they should be out of business.

We have been insured with ATIC for the past 3 years now and no complaint there :) Recently we had to experience their claims department due to Lightning/Surge taking out our HVAC and frying the entire system... Claims was very responsive and went as fast as they could to get the claim funded and sent out to us. Very impressed! ATIC is definitely on your side! Just be sure to find a GREAT agent that represents them and the customer service will continue to stay fantastic. ***My agent (now owner of S & J Insurance Group) that wrote me with them actually opened up her own office and has been trying to get an appointment with your company to transfer my policy back to her. Trust me when I say you want them on your side selling your products! They are a terrific example and advocate of what your company resembles. If it was not for her Amazing Customer Service and guidance I probably would not have you and would have been stuck with a $5000 bill that currently I would not have been able to afford at all... Thank you ATIC for a great experience & for covering my home!
American Traditions Insurance Company Complaints 16
January 10, 2022
January 10, 2022. I called regarding a water leak. The plumber fixed the leak. I paid the plumber and contacted the Insurance Company. The demolition crew removed my flooring in the kitchen and dining room, dried the moisture so that the flooring and ruined cabinets can be replaced. The restoration has not yet even begun. I want them to contact the restoration company. Last year they used Master Restoration. That would be fine with me. I am a disabled 87 year old widow who has a problem hearing and talking on the phone. Since the company has done this before, it is up to them to contact someone to install my flooring and reset my appliances that were affected. I still sit with an unfinished floor which makes it difficult to walk on or keep clean. I need them to finish restoring my flooring and setting my appliances. They sent me the check which is deposited in the bank. IT IS UP TO THEM TO CONTACT AND HAVE MY HOME RESTORED.

My home insurance company has not given me any determination the damage to my home from Hurricane ***. I call, leave messages and ask what should I be doing. My home is not stable at this point and still have water getting in. I was told they are expediting my claim due to my living conditions. Still no answers but to wait
We have damage from a hurricane that occurred on September 28, 2022. We filed a claim in the first week of October with American Traditions Insurance Company. The damage was assessed on October 12th. We received a message that same week indicating the matter had been assigned to an agent. However, we have not been able to establish any communication with the agent, who does not respond to our calls. Our roof was completely torn off by the storm, and we also sustained damage to our carport and other external parts of our home. Additionally, there has been water damage inside the house. Despite these issues, the insurance company has been uncooperative. We were compelled to replace the roof at our own cost to prevent further interior damage. The insurance company has also denied us access to the adjuster's report. Our attempts to reach them by phone only lead to a non-functional number. We have a policy that includes full replacement coverage. We are in need of assistance. Thank you.
Damage occurred on my manufactured home from a recent hurricane. I have a homeowners policy with American Traditions Insurance Company. I filed a claim with them, and an adjuster visited my home on October 6, 2022, to assess the damage. He mentioned that a desk adjuster would contact me soon to inform me of the compensation amount I would receive for the repairs. However, it is now December 27th, and I have yet to receive this crucial information, which is necessary for me to proceed with hiring a contractor and commencing the repair work. Although I have received calls from ATIC, the communication has been far from satisfactory. The first adjuster assigned to my case did not reach out as expected and subsequently left the company. My case was then transferred to another adjuster, but despite my numerous attempts to contact her, she never returned my calls. Recently, I was informed by ATIC that this second adjuster has also left, and my case has been handed over to a new adjuster. I was assured that this new adjuster would be in touch, but I have yet to hear from him. All I desire is to be informed about the compensation amount so that I can plan my repairs accordingly. The service from ATIC has been disappointingly poor.
Understand completely. My upgraded manufactured home was destroyed June 6th 2021 my fire. Investigation by Orange County fire department, American Tradition sent their investigator to determine fire and also undetermined. American sent me checks of money I paid for insurance and cancelled my policy. It is now November 14, 2023 and the great deal of money spent waiting for American Tradition to pay my claim and have yet received answered. I have not cashed the checks received knowing it is American Tradition' ploy not to pay claim. Reading many complaints it is American Tradition policy to cancel your insurance and return money paid into the policy. American Traditions has destroyed my life not paying my valid claim. Spending thousand of dollars for my family to have clothes. food and a place to live. Instead of continuing to pay motels it was an option to rent a apartment September 2023 having to sign a lease which I did not want to be responsible having to pay. American Traditions have little concern for their clients. Reading their complaints it is their policy to take your money for insurance. If you file a claim they then cancel your policy and return your money. A scam insurance company.

We as many suffered hurricane *** at our home our complaint number am140104. The adjuster was very prompt and able to communicate to us via phone upon calling him, he advised he uploaded all of our damage to American traditions company on October 16 2022. Since then it has been impossible to get to talk with anybody other than the call center who just keep throwing us into voice mails or ask us to tell them what we need and then they say a supervisor will call you back, never hearing from anybody. We have been told we are now on our fifth desk examiner? Unknown by us again cant get anybody to call us back. Very sad as its been over 49 days since our claim has been uploaded with no help in getting our claim paid only broken promises. I know we had to pay our premium on time or would have been dropped by American traditions but now we need to them to pay our loss and its crickets from them. Feeling defeated by both *** and American Traditions.

Our home was damaged during Hurricane *** We filed an insurance claim on Sept 29. Field adjuster came on 10/12. He notified us he filed report on approx Oct. 26. Since that time, we have had no response from insurance company. Despite phone messages left, emails sent, etc. NO REPLY. We had to pay $1000 out of pocket to have our roof tarped. Home needs new roof, skirting and siding repair, gutters, etc. They did call 6 weeks after loss to ask if we needed emergency repair. It has now been 80 days with no report, no money and no answer to repeated calls.
this is my second complaint with American Trading Insurance
this is my second complaint with American Trading Insurance. They know that my home is uninhabitable, and that it was considered a total loss. *** county maps show the devastation, and that the whole park was a total loss, BY HURRICANE. The flood came after the wind, yes it did flood, but most everyone I know that had hurricane insurance, received a total loss from hurricane ***. Currently there is no utilities in the park, and don"t foresee utilities being turned on again for a minimum of six months, possibly up to a year. American Traditions is making me jump through hoops, at my expense, just to get a real settlement. I've contracted a structural engineer to give me a report, now they want me to pay for a general contractor to give me a quote on repairs. I'm exhausted with not hearing anything for 8 weeks, then try to push a very minimal settlement. I've had to buy a motorhome just to have a place to live, time is running out, this has taken far too long.

This is regarding a Claim #AM144027 for Hurricane damage to the aforementioned home. I am representing the homeowner. We filed a claim a week after the hurricane. We had an adjuster come out about 4 weeks after to take pictures of the damage and it was supposed to be handed off to the desk adjuster. We have exchanged a couple of emails. Since that time, I understand that the initial adjuster was relieved of their duties and another adjuster was assigned. That adjuster assessed the damage about 3 weeks ago. I have left multiple phone calls and emails asking for an update. I have heard absolutely nothing. The homeowner is in a nursing home and this house needs to be fixed or sold but nothing can be done until we receive the damages from the claim. Should this be escalated to an attorney just to be able to speak to someone from the company?

I purchased a home owners insurance policy on my current address at ***, Fl. XXXXX. Since the company decided not to listen to my numerous attempts that we do not have a mailbox do to the area we live and have to use a PO Box. I paid them $899 for a year policy for my home. I was just emailed yesterday on 6/2 that my insurance was cancelled as of May 23rd do to a deplorable home. They went to the wrong home, cancelled my insurance and I never received the information to have a 4 point inspection done, pictures of the inside and outside of my home, and why because they screwed up my address and sent an adjuster to the wrong home. So now my family is left with no homeowners insurance because of the numerous mistakes this company (American Tradition Homeowners Insurance)has made. On the cancellation letter that should never have happened even has my address spelt wrong. So now I'm stuck with being in fault of my mortgage payment and any other stresses.

I have been trying to get answers and return calls from desk adjustor and management regarding my hurricane claim for several weeks and cant get them to return calls or return necessary documents for me to even try to get a SBA loan. Absolute worst customer service. They are going to my husband and I to have a nervous breakdown. This is si disturbing
The deductible for the damages done was more than the damages themselves. This information was relayed to me a week before. After persistent calling, a customer service representative finally addressed the damages which included: an HVAC system, gutters hanging off the roof, a torn screen, and a damaged riding lawn mower, among others. When I called to inquire about our damages and the expected timeline for repairs, I was met with consistent misinformation and tactics that seemed designed to deter consumers. The approach appeared to be to take their money, string them along, and avoid fixing anything.
After consulting with a few roofing and HVAC professionals, they recommended fixing the problems and then billing the insurance. As we're now heading into winter, this situation is becoming more urgent.
My experience with American Traditional Home Insurance can be summarized as follows:
Customer Service: 2 (evasive)
Insurance Adjusters: 1 (unhelpful and elusive)
Overall Rating: 2
Their apparent motto: Take the customers' money, string them along with delays or deterrence, and avoid any meaningful communication or repairs. Yet, we continue to pay for insurance.
On 6/23/22 I paid American Traditions Ins
On 6/23/22 I paid American Traditions Ins. $1077.00 from my checking account to cover my mother's home owners ins. for 1 year. The coverage started 7/7, but on 7/11 the title was changed to my name due to her death. I had to buy a new policy in my name for over $1200.00, but they refuse to issue a refund of the $1077.00 in my name. I have furnished the death certificate, then the front page copy of her will showing I'm a beneficiary. They then said they needed the whole will, but the next day reneged on that, and would only issue a check 'to the estate of'. The bank has told me they will not cash that for me, it has to say 'estate of OR ***'. They refuse *** issue it that way. I was told *** contact my lawyer (which I do not have, or care to waste more money on to retrieve my own money). I am at a loss of where to go from here to receive my refund. Many children handle parents finances, isn't there a recourse? I just want the extra years worth of insurance money they are sitting on refunded so it can be cashed.

My house was totaled in Hurricane **** A claim was filed immediately
My house was totaled in Hurricane *** A claim was filed immediately. I was assigned a desk examiner with little communication. After not being able to reach him, I called several times leaving messages. I was told by someone who called back several days later I had a new desk examiner. She started to update me and then communication abruptly stopped. After leaving six messages I finally got another person who finally answered after holding for 40 mins just to be told I was assigned a third desk examiner. A brand new person with no experience will now handle my claim. The field adjust had seen my house and failed to provide ATIC the report. They claim hes an independent contracted adjuster. There has been no communication from anyone regarding my claim. Meanwhile I rented a place to stay and was told to submit receipts for reimbursement. Ive yet to receive my rent reimbursement and they cannot locate the receipt I sent three times. I plan on filing a formal complaint with *** today. I am tired to getting the run around.

Ian's claim filed on September 29, 2022
Ian's claim was filed on 9/29/2022. An independent adjustor visited on 10/7/22, requesting emergency leveling of the home. Despite this, the company has been unresponsive. Further rain damage led to a second claim for leaks, which the company closed without sending another adjustor. Despite over 25 emails and 35 calls, there's been no response from an examiner. We had multiple issues, and one representative indicated on 10/27 that the claim was nearing completion, but follow-ups are ignored. We've paid out of pocket to mitigate issues per policy, including mold and a broken window, without company assistance. Customer service and examiner responsiveness are lacking. Claims specialists attempt to assist but are met with silence from examiners. After 68 days, the resolution is still pending. Our 12-year history of timely, substantial payments with the company underscores our frustration.

I had a claim for my roof and the insurance approved it
I had a claim for my roof and the insurance approved it. I had a professional roofer that was going to do the roof for me but American Traditions Insurance said that they have their own roofer that I HAD to use. The roofing company has been the most unprofessional that I have come across. They took months to actual do the work and that was only after I kept sending them paperwork that they claimed they never received and now they just sent me a bill for $2,000 to do wood work on the roof. They said the insurance doesn't cover it. However they never told me that they were or even had to replace any wood in my roof and even an amount. Instead I just received an invoice for $2,000. This is a scam and I can't believe the insurance company endorsed this company to do my roof. American Insurance phone number is not working and they need to call me and make this right. I shouldn't have received a bill for any amount that I didn't agree too. And why would you force me to use a company that rips people off. Especially since I already had a professional roofer and he would not have done this to me. This is completely unacceptable and I want someone to get back to me ASAP.

Our home was damaged by hurricane **** We lost our over roof, have water damage in the ceilings of the house due to the roof damage
Our home was damaged by hurricane *** We lost our over roof, have water damage in the ceilings of the house due to the roof damage. Also the carport was destroyed. We do have the roof temporarily tarped, but we are unable to remain in the home due to the damage. We are currently living in a borrowed RV in our driveway. We filed a claim with American Traditions on September 28, 2022, right after the hurricane. Our claim number is AM144734. An adjuster came out and carefully recorded all the damage on October 21. the adjuster told us he would be submitting his findings to ATIC by 10 PM that night. Yet we still have not heard a thing from American Traditions since then. We have called numerous times and sat on the phone for hours waiting supposedly for someone to respond "as soon as a customer service representative is available." Then a recording tells us to leave our name and phone number and they will get back to us as soon as possible. Yet no one has ever called us back. It is extremely stressful for my wife and I at our age, plus the fact that we are both disabled and cannot do any of the work ourselves. Not hearing from ATIC, and not knowing what is happening to our claim just continues to exasperate the problems.

Who would put a new roof on a home set to be demolished?
Who would put a new roof on a home set to be demolished? The answer is American Traditions Insurance Company(ATIC). They are insisting on re-roofing my hurricane *** damaged manufactured home rather than paying the roof damage claim, AM142929 even though our home is scheduled to be demolished (due to additional uninsured flood damage from the storm surge). It is not logical to put a new put a new roof on a home scheduled to be demolished. I have explained to them from the start that a cash settlement is the only option that makes sense. All of my calls now go to voicemail. I have left multiple messages for the claim adjuster with no response. I have left messages on the general claims line. I have left messages with the claim adjusters supervisor and even the supervisors manager (who as I understand it is the Director of Claims) with no response from anyone. In the last communication (email) from them (the claim adjuster on Nov 16), they stated: With the dwelling roof replacement the option to replace is ATICs and we have invoked the right to obtain the contractor. I have requested a cash settlement from the beginning and they ignore that request. Rather they insist on not communicating and putting a new roof on a building set to be demolished. Is this a company you would want to insure your property? A cash settlement is the only reasonable response.

My grandmother has a claim following hurricane ***
My grandmother has a claim following hurricane ***. Since 15 October, her claim has been with a desk examiner pending review. An adjustor did come out (prior to 15 Oct) and informed her that her *** room would not be covered, due to her windows not being properly sealed, when water had come through the roof from the storm, note, water came from roof, not window. My grandmother and myself have reached out numerous times, left countless messages and have been unable to talk to a single person or receive a call back. She did have a company come out today to place sand bags on her roof from the recent ***, but as it goes for any repairs, zero mention from anyone at the insurance company. Most if not all people in her neighborhood have had repairs replacements complete already, yet my late 80's grandmother is in the dark regarding any feedback from her insurance company. I have asked them via email why her *** room isn't covered when the mold and damages were a result of water coming in through the roof. I have asked them when they planned on sending someone out to do repairs, and nothing, no response or anything for 2 weeks! I feel this is unprofessionalism at it's finest, people pay money for coverage, yet when needed, it's an act of congress to even correspond with anyone from the agency. All we would like to know is what is going on, and when can repairs be done? Grandmother has already shelled out almost $1K in own money to keep rain water out the roof, by no assistance of American Tradition Insurance. I recommended she contact her local news and attorney, perhaps that would provide some results.

I have filed a claim with American Traditions Insurance Company
I have filed a claim with American Traditions Insurance Company. Date of the claim was October 3 2022, 5 days after Hurricane ***. The first adjuster was here in late October. Told me his job was not to get a lot of details but to get the big stuff so we could get some cash to begin repairs. He also noted at the time that a new roof was in order. I was finally able to get someone to answer the phone in November and talked to my 2nd examiner regarding the claim and my leaking roof. He told me that I had to use their contractor or they would not pay for the replacement of the roof. He was going to escalate to his supervisor and get back to me. After a week or so, I had to call again and was assigned to a *** as the examiner but *** was assigned to be an expeditor. She requested a new adjuster come out and he did. We were able to show him the issues the first adjuster missed. After calling numerous times to *** and ***, asking just for the courtesy of a return call and an update. Finally, *** left me a VM and told me to call ***. Finally, *** returned my call and told me that I needed to send e.mails because she would not listening to VMs. I have sent numerous e mails with questions and the only answer I get is that I have to have estimates before they can take any action on the claim. I dont know if you know but is extremely difficult to get any estimates in this climate. I am totally frustrated with the customer service and lack of response that I have received from this company and would never recommend anyone to insure with them. I also understand that they are busy but this is ridiculous. My car was totaled and I had a check with in two weeks. I am not asking for anything other that what we have paid our premiums for.

My repeated requests for information from American Traditions Insurance Company regarding my Hurricane *** damage Claim # AM135785 have been unanswered. On 11/28/2022 ATIC claims line person told me there was no change in status; when I asked I was informed that the Claims Director of my claim is *** (x2943).(The extensions have never worked for me, I have never gotten anything but a recording Extension is unavailable). On 11/30/2022 following my request to ATIC claims line person, I received a call from desk examiner ***, she said that I would be receiving info re the damages covered by insurance and a report as to what my insured damage reimbursements would be, by the end of the day - Never happened. On 12/12/2022, an ATIC claims line person put me on the phone with desk examiner ***, who told me again that my claim was just being completed, and that she would be emailing me info re the damages covered by insurance and a report as to what my insured damage reimbursements would be, by end of the day - Again, didnt happen. I have to yet to receive any documentation as to insurance adjuster's damage report / noted repairs required, or ATIC coverage I should expect. I have tried to be patient, but now wonder if ATIC may have issues I should be concerned about.

Insured: [Redacted] Claim No: AM146264 Policy No
Insured: [Redacted] Claim No: AM146264 Policy No. AMT211914 October 03, 2022, I filed a complaint with American Traditions Insurance Company for a sink leak at my home which caused water damage to the entire kitchen floor. End of November the Insurance Company, ATIC, brought a restoration company to dry out the water damage. They cut out a piece of installation under my home and under the kitchen cabinet to make access for the fans to dry out the water damage. ATIC paid this company directly. After that, ATIC sent out LockesAdjusting, IA License [Redacted] to assess the damage and determine the repairs needed. Based on the report, on December 13, 2022, I received a settlement of $2,790.28 for replacement cost minus my $1,000.00 deductible, and less $146.074 for non-recoverable depreciation. The net payment was $1,644.24. In the settlement, ATIC advised if there were additional damages, to obtain a written detailed estimate and forward it to our claims examiner, [Redacted], [Redacted] license: [Redacted], which we did several times. The settlement did not include the repairs for the subflooring replacement, and to replace the insulation and rewrapping of the insulation under my home. And to close-up the hole that Element Disaster Recovery made for the dryers. We have an estimate of roughly $2,700 for the entire plywood subfloor replacement; this will be determined once the floor is ripped up. We provided that estimate to the examiner's email on 12/23 and 12/27, with multiple phone calls to her. I still need to get an estimate for the insulation replacement and carpentry. I've tried to call our Claim Examiner, [Redacted], 5 times and I've sent multiple emails to resolve the additional damages, but to no avail, she nor anyone else from ATIC company have tried to contact me. I'm in a time crunch due to possible more damage not having this attended to.

Hi i have a claim Am139994 with American Traditions due to hurricane *** damage
Hi i have a claim Am139994 with American Traditions due to hurricane *** damage. my house is damaged some everywhere on the exterior. Well about a 6 weeks ago the insurance adjuster came it was around 6 pm and he seemed exhausted and not in a good mood he really didnt talk much took pictures then left but one thing i showed him was the damage to my *** unit he only said get it replaced or fixed so i asked him isnt that insured he said send the bill to the insurance he didnt write it was bad, nor did he take a picture of it. So i called a repairman he said it needed replaced and even wrote replaced due to hurricane damage. I sent to insurance twice by fax once by email the receipt,,, as i finance it. *** was the cost. Well i got a call from the insurance and they said my claim came to *** i was in shock it didnt include the *** and the estimates came to example: *** for skirting which i checked its more than that for the materials, also they allowed *** for 2 hours for a siding contractor on Angies list its *** a lot yes but thats what they are charging. Also *** for siding my siding is 16 years old faded from the *** sun you cant just put up peices it will not match and all four sides are damaged. Neighbor has a small house and they are getting theirs reside at a cost of *** . Also there was no drywall repair i had 6 ceiling leaks the drywall needs replaced and painted. I couldnt find that on the estimates either. I know these places are very busy but i cant accept less that it cost to get it fixed so i told them i was refusing the money as it wasnt enough they said they are sending it anyway and are closing the claim. So i hired a public adjuster the insurance companies are saying the public adjusters and attorneys are putting them out of business i did not want to get a public adjuster but a person has too they have no choice. Also you cant get anyone to work on your house right now and when you find someone they want 100s per hour.

American Traditions Insurance Claim #AM135642 - Claims adjuster was at our home on Oct
American Traditions Insurance Claim #AM135642 - Claims adjuster was at our home on Oct. 5, 2022 and the report wasn't submitted to their office until Nov. 9, 2022.- Claims adjuster missed the largest weatherproof room on our claim which has a hole in the roof and the ceiling panel inside has a huge indentation. Bathroom shower doors and ceramic tiles broken by flying mirror also were missed. Gutters/downspouts were calculated on the 24' side of home rather than the 36' ft. side. Two solar tube skylights also need to be replaced with roof. Wall damage missed on north side of house. All this damage could be clearly seen and was not reported. It is impossible right now to get any kind of quotes because all contractors are overwhelmed with the amount of work that needs to be done. - The desk claims adjuster *** at ext. #*** does NOT respond to emails and does NOT pickup or responds to voicemails when you call the direct number *** and leave a message. The *** #'s provided to us do not allow for input of ext. #'s.- I have also sent an email to *** with no response as well.- *** called Nov. 17th and told us she was sending us an email with the details of the claim and the amount we would be receiving. When she told us the amount, we knew immediately that it had been done incorrectly and told her that there was no way it was enough. Instead of going over the claim with us, she insisted on telling us she was sending us an email and that she would have no further dealings with us.- Several emails have also been sent to *** the claims director who sent an email on Dec. 8th saying he would respond in 24 hrs. Never heard from him again either.- It should NOT be the homeowner's responsibility to get quotes and provide pictures for a poorly prepared claim. Another adjuster should be sent to make an accurate claim. - I believe it is safe to say that this claim has been handled improperly and unprofessionally.

Worst Insurance Company Experience Ever! I would not recommend this company to anyone. They tried to give me a check for $28 for Hurricane Irma damage to my home. Its been 3 years and we are still trying to get whole for Hurricane damage while premiums have doubled. Stay Away!
