My 97-year old mother has been an Amigo customer for more than 6 years. She never missed a payment, but recently she accidentally paid the December amount again for her January bill. She saw the previous paid amount and thought it was the amount due, so she paid $138 instead of $184, leaving $45.10 balance. She never received any phone call or email, and eventually received a disconnect notice with 7 days to respond before cutoff. She immediately wrote a check and mailed it, but 1 week is not enough time to insure the payment reaches them and is processed. I called Amigo, spoke with several agents and a Supervisor, and they have no consideration or compassion for having received 80% of the payment and giving just a week extension to insure the amount is received. They want me to pay again now or make payments, starting today. I'm never seen such a Mickey Mouse operation, full of greed and evil. My mother lives on poverty level and doesn't have the money to pay twice, or spend $30 to cancel a check and pay again on the phone. These people are Charlatans and we won't be supporting their evilness any more. I hope they find a soul, they are from hell!
Amigo Energy doesn't give a damn about humanity, loyalty of customers, or common sense- all they want is money. Money that comes at the cost of strapping a 97 year old woman over a balance that occurred due to an honest mistake. They don't show any flexibility, only issuing threats, late fees, and undue stress.
If you can't reach a compromise, you can always file a complaint with the Texas Public Utility Commission along with the Better Business Bureau. You and your family should start looking for a new provider as soon as possible. These blood suckers don't deserve another penny. The level of greed and lack compassion is disgusting.
