Paid for support for a problem that is not resolved
These techs seem very incompetent or something. Yes there were language challenges. But that is not why I came here. They kept asking me to repeat my self over and over (e.g. reading a list of options in the bios) guiding me through the same stuff I already did on my own that failed. E.g. create a win10 boot usb drive via the MediaCreationTool from a different machine. 1st red flag was, I stated my machine has a 32bit architecture, yet they still wasted my time to download the 64bit version of Win10. They stated clearly, "don't worry, this will work". Then it turned into "lets see what happens". Thumbs down here. Now I need to call maybe sales, and demand my money back. Acer needs to use a different company for support in my opinion or do inhouse support. I guess I'm just adding to the list of bad reviews.

I have paid for a service I have yet to receive from them, there are clear language barriers and the techs are aggressive when you have to ask them to repeat themselves, they have suggested numerous outside remedies for my computer system which is now worse than we begin. think twice before using this service. I'm considering purchasing a new computer. thy take entirely to long to perform their duties and the wait time on hold is un heard of

No help and double billed me
I am so pissed... I did what I thought was purchase a warranty plan for my Acer computer for $9.99/mo... First off they were not able to help me get my computer back up and running as their recommendation of downloading the Windows 10 App from another puter to a flash drive did not work as my puter would not accept the app, nothing happened... I purchased online a emergency boot disk, a Windows 10 disk and a tech support disk... after using the boor disk I was able to upload the Windows 10 app from my disk... I solved my own problem... then, after the initial billing on 4/26 my debit card got hacked! I got a new debit card and be an honest person I called to update my pmt method to my new card and was told the billing dept would call me back... When I got call I went through the process of adding new card only to have them bill me again on 4/28! I want my money back and when I have called multiple times have been put off and put off!
Desired outcome: I want both my $9.99 pmts back and I want this plan or these plans cancelled immediately without penalty!!!!

I was having issues with my Bluetooth on my Acer laptop and similar to some other complaints posted here, I was directed to seek help from Answersby to tech my issue as the 1 year warranty is expired. I called the number listed:

After calling this number I was directed to some call centre in India and they assured me they could solve my issue if I subscribed to either a 1 time tech fee of 79.99 or for 1 year 129.99. I chose the latter. I talked to 2 different tech agents and they didn't help. My issue is still not solved. Now they are saying It might be a hardware issue. I was given guarantees they could solve my problem. My computer does not have a hardware issue, the bluetooth functionality is gone after and update or something similar. I asked to talk to a supervisor and would like my money back. I was promised resolution but my issue is ongoing. Truly disappointed.

On 9/8/22 i spoke to a online Tech. in hope of securing technical support for my 2021 Acer Chromebook. As my 1 yr warranty on my Acer Chromebook had expired I proceeded to purchase a 1 year subscription for Technical Support Services from Answeby for a price of 139.99 . On 9/15/22 I attempted to secure online Technical Support services by calling Answer by at [protected] 7pm cst...after waiting on hold for over one hour I hung up and now I wish to make a formal complaint against this company and ideally secure a full refund of my $139.99 one year membership fee paid to Answer by Technical Support staff member on 9/8/22. I have the original 9/8/22 email comfirmation email if you need a copy of this email please tell me how to send this email on to your Complaints Dept. ,,,in this 9/8/22 email from Answers by... it states I have paid for 1 year Tech. Support Service 24 hrs per day 7 days per week!

June 1, 2022 I signed up for 2 years care and $209. was deducted from my checking account. I immediately cancelled as there was not a problem as Social media was deducted from my plan. I immediately phoned and cancelled and was told the money would be refunded in 10 business days, to date I have not received the money.

Install the word 2016
I am one of the members who paid them, receive not proper services. Waiting hours to respond, very poor services. Teck support is very poor. after three days still could not install my Microsoft Word 2016. they are very poor and b ad service. they will call the members for money and then leave you, they do not care. Please do not get even near them, I told them many times nothing happen. Poor, Unresponsive, no knowledge about computer, they are not a real computer technician, they may by trained to kill the time.
Internet access on my acer
On June 28, 2021 I called AnswersBy.com to see if they could help me sort out some conflicting information I started receiving from my wifi network. An unidentified network appeared labeled MySpectrum with numbers after it, commandeered my wifi connection and wouldn't let it go. I wanted to clear it out and use what I had already.
The AnswersBy technician (who muted the call at least once so I couldn't tell if he or she was still there) implied that any wifi is good wifi and I don't have a thing to worry about. The MySpectrum wifi network is nothing to be concerned about and it will just go away. How long? About an hour. It's actually already been there a few days.
Not proud of myself that I just got scammed for $159.99.
Desired outcome: I have their phone number & case number (hope it's real). I'll be calling often.

They took my card info and money and did not fix the problem. It's a SCAM!

Contract expiry ignored
I had a contract with Support by PC which expired in December 2020. They have continually attempted to process the monthly charge since that time. I have contacted Bank of America and they have credited the monthly charges, for January, February and March but I want this discontinued. Contacting this company is a joke, I have left 3 Voice Messages and managed after much effort to send two emails to which I have received no response. In another 10 days I believe they will attempt processing this charge again, but I have every attention to stop them. The bank and I are working closely on this charade and will continue to do so. Meanwhile evidence is being filed and retained for future action.
If you have the ability to contact this 'company' please advise them to stop any further attempts to process the monthly charge. Thank you.

Bought Tech support for one year $159.99 on 3/11/21. Transferred to Tech Support - the tech attempted to help but was to call me back in a hour. I waited for 2 hours - then I called back at 5:09 pm EST. I then got another Tech that started to help and HE said I'll call you back to continue in 1 hour 30 minutes. I told The Tech at that time if HE did not call me back I would be requesting a REFUND! I waited exactly 3 hours before "I" called back. At that time I asked for a refund - I was not happy with the service I had received so far!

Tech support contract
I hired AnswersBy for a service contract. It was supposed to clean up my computer and instead ruined it. It won't even boot up after it "cleaned" it. AnswersBy told me to get some flash drives to download what I need to fix it. I spent more than $80 on the flash drives. I couldn't download what they told me to on my netbook because it doesn't have Windows. AnswersBy told me to find another Windows computer, which I don't have and it's hard to get into someone else's place these days because of the pandemic. Finally a neighbor let me use her computer to download. I followed the directions and it didn't work. I tried again and AnswersBy wouldn't answer the phone -- it kept me on hold for more than an hour and I couldn't impose on my neighbor any more. I also don't trust AnswersBy on another computer, considering what it did to mine. I spent hours in vain trying to fix it. Now I don't have my computer or access to files that I need. I asked AnswersBy for a refund and it refuses to give one.
Computer service
I have called answerby to cancel my monthly service. Then later find out this company is going to not only not cancel my service but answerby will continue charging my card 19.99 for next 6months all because I decided to cancel the monthly service early and answerby never once informed me of such action if cancelled my service early and nothing resolved with my computer after four days of the repetitive restart none helpful tasks done to my computer. All I asked was to fix my touch screen and when asked about the issue or if was fixed all I received was I'll give you a call back tomorrow and even that never happened

Technical "support"
Purchased a year plan, spent 10+ hours on the phone, factory reset the computer, only four three issue to not have been resolved. Called next day after purchasing asking for a full refund given this resulted to be a scam. They claimed a manager would call with in 24 hours to process. I never got a call back, I called 2 other times only to hear the same answer. There last time I called, demanded an immediate refund. Their response : "we cannot give a full refund as you will have to be charged the one time support fee." but the computer issue was never resolved! The computer wiped, the issue remained. I spent over a full day of work on the call with absolutely no resolution.

Terrible company, terrible service, they don't understand anything about computers. A hard drive in my computer failed, I called ACER and there I was transferred to "answers by computer". The company's manager suggested that I buy insurance, which he said covers everything. Foolishly, I agreed. Then, in terrible English, the same manager spent four and a half hours trying to fix my hard drive remotely. Tell me people, is it possible at all. After four and a half hours, he finally realized that the problem was with the hard drive and suggested that I will go to another company to change the drive. I was surprised and said that I have insurance. The manager smiled insolently and replied that the insurance does not cover the replacement of a new disc, but covers chatting with him. I said that I want to return the insurance fee and he replied that there are no problems and they will call you back. Of course, no one called me back, and a week later I called to them and had a conversation with another clown from this company. He explained to me that he was ready to return only half of the amount, and the second half is payment for four and a half hours of conversation with the manager... A day later I fixed my computer without any problems in the Best Buy.
Repair to my aceraspire es-15
Called on 6/13/2020 told them trouble with laptop, told me they could fix for $199.99 for 1 year or 2 years for $239.99 took the 2 years, the tech started at2:39 pm at 5:00 he still could not fix another tech took over at about 8:30 he said its fixed it would not print to my printer, the next day I turned it on slow to start then all kind of tabs were trying to load. Went to shut down it would not shut down had to turn power off. Called 6/14/2020 no one would answer. Called at 7:35 6/16/2020 was on hold until 8:40 am when a lady answered told her problem it was not fixed and I wanted a refund she said no she would fix I said no you are not getting on this computer finally I said again I want a refund I will ntake it to get it fixed. She said someone would call me in the next 24hrs. I be that will not happen.

I was referred to answersby.com by Acer technical support. I used their service sporadically because my computer has problems opening up, restarting and slow access to the internet. after observing the performance a couple of weeks later, the original problems remained the same: the screen freezes and shows only a blue or dark screen and nothing happens when I turn on my Aspire E 15 computer. I always have to do a hard restart to make my computer work. I complained to them about this and requested a prorated refund of my two year subscription of $210.00. they refused and said that it is non-refundable. I reasoned out with them that their service did not fix my problems and I'll be buying a new Acer computer anyways which will have a 1 year free technical support. I told them that it doesn't make sense to have their service subscription on top of the 1 year free tech support from Acer. Still silence: they never returned my calls or their promise to call me by their Customer Service. in the beginning they never disclose to me about their refund or return policy which I was kept in the dark. Please assist me in resolving this problem. thank you.

The tech from AnswersBy.com is very rude and does not have any help at all. He keeps repeating and repeating the same words to annoy me then saying "okay" "okay" "okay" even when I am very pissed. He doesn't know anything about technical issues and not even worried even after I say I would file a complaint. Like there is no one checking their service and the quality of support. I don't even know if this is the right channel where I can file a complaint but I am really, really pissed.

I was hesitant to do business with you, however I was told that the only way I could get
access to my Acer computer, after being locked, was to provide my credit card number to Answers By Support. In doing so I expected to gain expertise service. I was than told they could not assist me and advised me to bring it to a computer service store.
After 15 min. I was able to unlock the computer. I called back to get my refund and was told that I did not call them. I thought, great, my account was not charged. In viewing my bank statement I see it was in fact charged $239.99 for absolutely NO service provided. I have contacted the company several times without satisfaction.
DO NOT do business with them.
This transaction took place on 8/16/18. I have requested a refund and they will not provide this to me. I will contact the attorney generals office, and all social media outlets if I do not get this resolved to my satisfaction.
Yeah, they screwed up my computer royally too. I paid them for a service to clean up the computer. When they cleaned it up, it didn't even work. They ruined it and told me to get some flash drives to download software to back up -- on and on and on and nothing worked.
