Allergic reaction
I used this on my carpet in my room today [protected]) and about 10 minutes later after vacuuming my eyes were burning and itching and my cat kept sneezing as well. So then I vacuumed again and still the same so I vacuumed 4 times and it got a little better. I thought this was weird since I've used this product before and nothing happened so I looked it up and saw others with similar issues. I am now concerned and scared for my cats. I will no longer be purchasing this product!
Arm & Hammer Advance White Toothpaste
Bought a twin-pack of this and just started using it and noticed my mouth and tongue felt burned after brushing. Couldn't figure out why my mouth felt burned until last night, after brushing the inside of my upper and lower lip were virtually raw. I don't know what the heck they are putting in their toothpaste, and from the other complaints I read on this site this scalding of the mouth by their product has been going on for over a year, but apparently they don't give two hoots about their customers since they've neither withdrawn the offending product(s) nor changed the formulation.
I will NEVER buy Arm&Hammer products ever again.
Desired outcome: Pull the product from the market

I'm waiting for an answer from A&M and also the promised coupons. The latest e-mail received seems to try and dismiss my complaint.
I advised A&M I am not able to use digital vouchers they replied they would send hard copies.
Have not received a response to my initial complaint nor the vouchers.

Subject: Customer Service
Dear Mr Segars. I write to you to let you know of the apparent inefficiency of your customer services department.
I initially wrote to your company on 10th October with a question relating to the formulation of your toothpaste.
Following is a thread of e-mails relating to my question.
I was asked to fill in an on-line form which I found did not work. Neither did the "quick reply" icon on the e-mail page sent to me.
I did however send an additional e-mail that included further information relating to the product.
I was then told I would receive coupons as a gesture of goodwill.
A subsequent e-mail advised that your company was working on sending me the coupons. For reasons unknown I was called Clara.
To date I have received neither an answer to my question nor the promised coupons.
May I constructively suggest a review of your customer interaction may be in order as promises and non-replies to questions do nothing to reinforce the quality of your brilliant products.
Kind Regards
Patrick Hennessy

Dear Sirs, We are firm believers in Arm & Hammer toothpaste.
However recently we have noticed a problem.
On using the sensitive pro product it is affecting our gums and leaves us with a feeling that the product is "burning" the inside of our mouths, both gums and flesh between gums and lips.
I should say that for reasons of economy we purchase from less priced "Pound" shops and I wonder if the product which they sell is semi-reject with inconsistent formulation.
I would be interested to hear your views on why the product may be causing us discomfort.
Kind Regards
Patrick Hennessy
Desired outcome: A reason for not replyin to my question re formulation and receipt of the promised coupons/vouchers.
Don’t use Arm and Hammer Peroxide toothpaste. I developed severe burns, multiple canker sores and swelling under my tongue from this product. I thought I had mouth cancer. Realized it was this product. Researched online and saw a myriad of complaints. Are you waiting for a major lawsuit? Pull this toxic product! Someone will develop oral cancer and sue the pants off of you.
Advance white and complete care
10/15/21 Recently during the last 2 months I started using the above toothpaste and within the last 2 weeks I have had the following problems:
burning sensation in mouth
tongue looks pitted and raw
mouth very dry like I am sucking on a lemon
lips and gums numb
taste buds severely stressed
adding salt or seasoning to any food is a lesson in pain
I have used your regular toothpaste before with no problems. I have 5 new and used versions, 2 brand new advance white & 1 new complete care plus 3 used advancewhite & completecare tubes left. Since I am not sure if one or all the products used is causing my mouth issues and I do not want to experiment to determine if one or both are the culprit(s). Obviously, I have discontinued using them. I am very concerned if and when these mouth issues will heal. What is wrong with your products and why are they not pulled off the market?
If you give me a refund, it does not absolve you for liability, if there is permanent damage.
I have included a pic of the 5 toothpastes in question as well as the only receipt I could find from Walmart with 4 of them on it.

after a few days of use lips very swollen, numb and extremally dry. very scary reaction to wake up with.
Desired outcome: stop making this product
Arm& Hammer toothpaste
I bought this if you weeks ago because it was on sale at my local grocery store. I started using it and at first I thought it was great in fact up until now I thought it was great. Reading all the reviews after a quick Google search about the bad side effects of this toothpaste confirms the worry I had. After about two days of use I begin to have sores on the inside of my mouth I was really worried because I thought that I was getting sick since I had been working overtime that week. The sores were super painful and I ended up using a numbing product because it was hard to eat anything. I also noticed that my tongue felt very sensitive to everything spicy which is not normal because I usually eat spicy food and feel just fine. On another occasion I used mouthwash and it completely burned my tongue like never before. After believing that it was possibly a cold coming on I decided to buy a new toothbrush to see if perhaps the one I had was the problem, the same issues persisted. My tongue still feels numb and the sores are slightly less painful.. but now with this search and all the reviews especially in the same timeframe that this product went on sale at my local grocery store I have no doubt in my mind that this is what caused my mouth to become inflamed. I will make sure that I tell people not to use this product.
I use a lot of arm and Hammer products so I am pretty surprised this one is such a bad quality product.
Desired outcome: Lawsuit
Peroxicare toothpaste
This product totally ‘burned' my mouth : twice!
I had my teeth cleaned recently, for the first time in a long while. I thought this peroxicare toothpaste would be a good complement to keep my teeth clean.
I began using it about a week after my cleaning. The first couple of days were fine. On about the fourth day I woke up with my tongue swollen, which was a bit disconcerting. I had also noticed that my throat was very dry throughout the night while I slept. I experienced progressing symptoms over the next couple of days, such as swollen lips, gums & further back on my tongue. I also noticed small ulcers under & on the sides of my tongue, and sores in the corners of my mouth. It was all excruciatingly painful, including not being able to eat or talk well.
I was out of town when all of this was happening, so couldn't get an appointment with my dentist until the following week.
I saw the dentist, who thought I was having viral reaction & asked if I had recently switched toothpaste. I told him I had & he said to stop using it. I had assured him that I had. He prescribed ‘magic mouthwash, ' which contains lidocaine, for pain.
My mouth started getting better & better, & after about a month I felt that it was about 90% to 95%. I tried the peroxicare again, brushing my teeth at night. I woke up the next morning with a sore, swollen tongue. The whole menagerie of symptoms started over again.
I called the company & told them about my ordeal. They said they will issue a refund for the product. The person I spoke with said she had never heard of such problems with this toothpaste, which has been in existence since the 1990's.
If anyone brings a class suit, I would like to join. This company clearly takes no responsibility for this product's harm, & did not acknowledge the product's toxicity in my conversation with them.
Thanks
Desired outcome: join a class suit if one is brought
Advanced white toothpaste
I switched to this toothpaste from my usual brand. One day I woke up with swollen lips and thought possibly they were sunburned although I hadn't really been in the sun. Over the next week or two they were dry cracked and my mouth was extremely dry. I began to get concerned that this was some odd covid symptom. It was getting difficult to even eat because the dryness was so severe. We then went away and I was using a different brand toothpaste from my travel bag and started to realize that the symptoms were beginning to subside. Wasn't sure if it was the toothpaste or just a coincidence. When I came home I used the Arm & Hammer Toothpaste again for two days and I am right back to where I was. Lips are swollen and extremely dry and well as mouth dryness. I have stopped using it now for 2 days and I have seen some slight improvement. I have looked at reviews and see this is a common complaint. I have no known allergies. Based on reviews this could take weeks to subside!
Desired outcome: Reimbursement of double pack & warning on package
Arm & Hammer PeroxiCare Deep Clean
I have used Arm & Hammer Toothpaste with Baking Soda for literally decades. I love the product and have always believed it was the best Dental care on the market. When they began adding peroxide to their formula I began using it with no problems.
Recently, within the last 6 months, my mouth, especially my lips have been chapped and blistered. I assumed it was an age thing since I am 72 and tried every lip balm and chap stick on the market. Nothing worked.
It struck me one day that maybe it was my toothpaste. I doubted it, but I had tried everything else and as Sherlock says, once you eliminate the impossible, only the truth remains. I digress, to make along story short, I used my wife's Colgate that night instead of my old standby. I actually slept without pain. Three days later my lips were healing. I have stopped using my beloved Arm & Hammer.
I am not writing this for any reason other than to report a potential problem with a product variety that might be causing harm and pain to others as it did me. Arm & Hammer has made exceptional products for years, they might want to investigate this potential black mark on their otherwise exemplary reputation.
Desired outcome: Put warning on product to stop use if lips chap, burn or blister from use of the Peroxicare product.
Arm & Hammer Peroxicare toothpaste
I fell victim to the burn! I had run out of my normal toothpaste the day before I left to go out of town last Friday. So I stopped at a dollar store and decided to try the Peroxicare instead since they didn't have my regular brand. I brushed that morning and that night. The next day I brushed around mid morning and within a few minutes of rinsing my mouth I felt a blister start to form on the left side of my gums. Before I knew it, by nightfall I had another large burn pop up on the same side toward the back. At first I thought it was something I ate but that was not the case. I realized it had to be the toothpaste considering I just used it. The pain became so excruciating. I had to take ibuprofen to help me sleep which helped some but by the next day I couldn't hardly eat because it hurt so bad and only exacerbated the burn and pain. Plus, my left cheek and down around my lymph node just under the jaw had swelled and was tender. I finally decided to do some research and found hundreds of complaints including this forum. So it made me feel better knowing it wasn't just me. It has been five days since I stop po ed using it and it is just now beginning to show some relief but have some new places popping up on the gums that are swelling. I am self employed with no means at this time to go to a dentist to get this documented. So the best I can do is submit this complaint to anywhere I can. I am not allergic to baking soda or peroxide. So I don't know what is in it but it feels like a chemical burn. This stuff is dangerous and needs to be recalled pronto!
Desired outcome: Bring to attention of Arm & Hammer immediately!
Peroxi-care tooth paste.
This toothpaste literally burns, cracked open my lips leaving open sores, irritated the inside of my mouth, my tongue and throat. I've never in my life had any problems with toothpaste until I used this product. I've used different kinds of arm and hammer toothpaste before with no problems as well. It this specific product is no good (the peroxi-care)
Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal, Multi Cat litter
This is a complaint.
I have bought this Cat litter for 3 years now, and this is the first time this has happened.
It is a wonderful product, or so I thought, unfortunately the last 2 boxes I bought had hard rocks in them.
I bought these boxes at 2 different retailers. Did you have some manufacturing problems?
First picture is the hard rocks that I found in the box.
I am really disappointed and appalled that this is in the cat litter. I have to go through it to get these rocks out.
Concerned that they will hurt my Cat's feet. I know if a human stepped on them, it would cause some serious
pain.
I have attached pictures with the lot number and UPC code. It is from the last box, I bought.
Is there anything you can do, to make my Cat's experience better? Otherwise, I will be buying a different brand of cat litter
A Concerned Consumer.
Desired outcome: A full refund or a new box, without the rocks.
Advanced white toothpaste
Caused chemical burns, cracking and swelling of lips and inside of mouth. Loss of taste. Product is not safe. Have used it before and not not known it was the cause of previous burning of mouth. Had switched brands and thought maybe an allergy to food. Just bought and used today, and about 4 hour after use, insides of mouth are splitting, lips and area around mouth is swollen almost twice the size, gums are swollen and not much sense of taste. This stuff should not be on market.
Desired outcome: Legal counsel
Arm and hammer advanced whitening
Total break out from switching to the toothpaste, thought at first it was just dried chapped lips but my face around my lips were totally swollen and the side of my mouth I brush on was severely cracked and burned from this toothpaste. I was bleeding on the side of my face from the cracks for two weeks straight, I used a different toothpaste when we travelled when I got back I tried it once again and broke out immediately finally realizing that it had to be the toothpaste. No idea what the strength or active ingredient is that is causing such a horrible reaction but I'm hoping it clears up.
With wearing a mask and it being dry I thought for sure it had to do with indoor sports or some allergic reaction to something else but it's definitely the toothpaste. I have a photo or photos to prove how ridiculously burnt my face was/is.
Desired outcome: No clue, maybe pull this from the market so others don't have to change diet or guess why they end up with weeks of pain
arm hammer tooth paste all brands of it got baking soda etc in it
my dentist warned me about the whitner tooth paste of arm and hammer how bad it is for inside of the mouth but would not listen . I am A sugar free diet pop drinker really stained my teeth is why I used this brand of tooth paste for years . I lost my taste buds over year ago and never returned being able to taste stuff . Creates my gums to be swollen and red with pain, mouth sores and tongue issues .
I have also lost my sense of taste due to using Charcoal white Arm & Hammer toothpaste. Can I be compensated?
Armour Hammer Advanced Whitening Toothpste
About a month ago after brushing my teeth with Armour Hammer Advanced Whitening toothpaste my lips began burning like they were in fire and this continued for about an hour then it just left my lips feeling blistered and the corners of my mouth became cracked and sore. My lips had just gotten cleared up and I thought well maybe it was a bad tube. So just yesterday I used my mom's tube of Armour Hammer Advanced Whitening toothpaste and it did the same thing. Now my lips are messed up again. And each time it seems to takes a few weeks for my lips to heal! Will never use this stuff again! Something is terribly wrong with it! I've used Armour Hammer toothpaste in the past and never had a problem with it but this one has something added to it that is causing really bad problems with my lips and mouth!
Arm & hammer advance white
I used this toothpaste twice: February 10 2021 and March 4 2021. At first I thought I had a food allergy but the second time I used it I realized instantly it was my new toothpaste! Both times my lips swelled very badly, I got blisters on the top of my mouth and under my tongue. Day 2 my lips dried out and got severely chapped. When I smile my lips crack and bleed. My mouth was so dry for 2 days - I could hardly swallow.
I have never had an allergy to anything. No food allergies, no medicine allergies, and definitely never had an allergy to toothpaste before! Having seen so many others having the same side effects, it makes me wonder what you've excluded from your list of ingredients.
Desired outcome: I'd like to see a class action lawsuit against Arm & Hammer. Because of this I am terrified to try any new toothpaste. I've switched to completely organic $30 tooth powder to avoid whatever poison is inside this product.
Arm& hammer peroxide toothpaste
I am experiencing burn around my lips from this product will not buy or use again.
Peroxide-care toothpaste
This past spring a dentist recommended I use peroxi-care for my gums. Shortly after using it, I developed what I thought was cold sores on my lips. Because I work in child care, I had to take off work. The doctor didn't think it was cold sores, but provided the oral and topical medication I had taken in the past. I am susceptible to oral herpes, had been under a lot of stress, and also out in bright sunlight, which triggers the outbreaks. Medication, which formerly had alleviated symptoms, did nothing. And this was different from oral herpes in that the inside of my mouth was affected too — it wasn't just the lips. At some point I decided to stop using the peroxi care and slowly the symptoms subsided. I was off work for two weeks. The other day I again used the peroxi care and after two uses, I developed the same symptoms as I had in the spring, so I realized the toothpaste was causing this. My lips and the inside of my mouth are irritated, itch, and burn. Eating and drinking are agony. Fortunately I can still work as masks are required now. Nowhere on the tube or carton is there any mention of a reaction like this. This toothpaste needs to be pulled off the shelves. I went online and found that others have had the same experience, going back several years.
I think you, the Arm and Hammer Company, owe me for the cost of the toothpaste which I threw away, as well as two weeks wages, totaling $390.
