I work at a shelter in Ozaukee County. We have a guest who has pretty consistent medical emergency's due to his diagnoses. As I have been speaking to the gentleman and his wife, they have informed me they have been subject to discrimination in their most recent visit which I think is absolutely unacceptable in the medical field. Security was brought to their room just to "inform" them that their children would not be allowed to come visit "per their policy", and because there are sharp things around. This is clearly a cop out as all "sharp" things are locked away, like any other medical care facility. The head lady of security then informed them she would be back with the actual policy, to which she later informed them that she "couldn't find it".
Overall, this is just such an unsettling experience and is pretty textbook profiling. I have also heard a PLETHORA of others complain about how they have been treated at this specific Aurora Facility. This needs to be addressed by somebody.
Claimed loss: -
Desired outcome: I believe that this entire facility needs some sort of overhaul of the HR department as I have heard PLENTY of other complaints from the community. "Sorry" is not a sufficient response to racial profiling.
