Aurora Health Care endocrinology

My husband was referred to Dr. F. Salahuddin for suspect parathyroid disease. She ordered the tests to determine if this was the case.
After ultrasound of kidney and thyroid he received a call stating his tests were fine and come back in 2 years. In the meantime the blood tests came back and were posted online showing abnormal results. There was not a follow up on the tests.
Finally I messaged her and asked how could it be ok if the blood tests came back abnormal. The answered I received :

Dr Salahuddin reviewed ******** lab results. She said because his calcium levels are high (his 24 hour urine came back at 552 and the normal is under 300) and because he has early stages of bone loss (which is called Osteopenia), she is recommending he have a consult with a surgeon to discuss possible parathyroid surgery. The Physician she normally recommends is Dr Brenda

If I hadn't asked, this would not have been taken of. This is unacceptable. We will be looking for another doctor.

Aurora Health Care hospital stay - aurora summit

On my stay at Aurora for a pulmonary embolism I was shocked at how inattentive the nursing staff was. I could go for 4 or 5 hours several times a day and never see a nurse, a tech or a CNA. About the only time you would see them is when they had to do something like administer medicine or shift change. RARELY. did anyone stop by room to check and see how to I was doing, how my pain level was and I had to keep asking for basics like water, a clean gown or pain meds. During my first day I developed a bad cold and I mentioned it to 3 different nurses. No one really checked me out, looked down my throat. When I told them I was having some problems breathing due to the cold they simply provided cough drops. The cold went into my chest and the cough became so bad I was constantly coughing but they did nothing because they won't give me any medication without an act of Congress and apparently it was too much trouble to call the doctor. The last night I could not even sleep because of the coughing. Seems silly that you are in a hospital and no one is interested in trying to address a simple cold or to keep something as basic as fluids going.

Aurora Health Care ophthalmology appointment

Of the last 5 Ophthalmology appointments that I made with Dr. Saba J Kadlec 4 were cancelled. It just happened again. Because I work so far from home I must take scheduled vacation in order to meet the appointment. I make it in good faith and then it's cancelled on your end. It's not easy to change on my side. This clinic really doesn't apparently care about their clients and frankly their customer support sucks. I do not have an issue with the doctor. Every time I got in she was fine. My problem is the scheduling staff. They are awful. My only openings are on Friday. I work a 60+ hour schedule. I make an appointment more than a month in advance agreeing to a date and hour that is said to be available... to then have it cancel before the visit date. Once is a fluke. Multiple times is a tend. This seriously needs to improve.

This is concerning my nephew. I'm with Aurora Health Care & don't experience what he's going thru. He's been in extreme back pain since May 31st. He was finally diagnosed with a Chardoma Tumor in his Sacrum 8-14-23. His cancer Dr. called his back Dr. , Back Dr. Said he wanted him in ASAP. Has an appointment 8-23-23. Not the Doctor's fault, it's the women behind the computer's, seems they don't have any empathy for patients.

Aurora Health Care medical records complaint

I had a MRI appointment on 11/15/018 at Aurora St. Lukes Milwaukee Wisconsin. Upon checking in to Radiology, I was told that my Medical Records were Mixed together with my Twin Brothers. My name is Kevin M. James, My brothers name is Kelvin P. James, and apparently my twin brothers medical records and insurance was on my Medical Records. My date birth and my brothers date birth are both 12/06/1956.

I did not get my mri done because of this and after waiting around for 2 hours I went back home. I came up to milwaukee from pleasant prairie wisconsin and also took the day off of work!

When is this going to be straightened out and when am I going to be able to get my mri? Dr. Mathew johnson needs this mri to find out how far my cancer has progressed!

My next step is to contact an attorney!

Aurora Health Care billing/customer service

I called to make a yearly physical/check up with my primary doctor. I see a OBGYN (from another health providing company) yearly so I did not want a pelvic/ pap done which I told the scheduler and the doctor at the appointment. I discussed minor issues, such as hand pain, that I was having at the appointment as I believed this was a yearly checkup? The doctor suggested baseline lab work should be done, which I completed.

I received a bill in the mail for a office visit as Aurora will not bill the appointment as a preventative appointment, as they are saying I did not have a complete physical, and will not listen to me, the customer as to what my intention of the appointment was. Preventative services are 100% covered under my plan, but they will not bill as preventative and they will not listen to what my intention in making the appointment was. So next time I want to come in to see my doctor for a yearly physical I wont bring up any issues I might be having or it might not be preventative? What?

The whole experience is infuriating, and ridiculous and I will never see an Aurora provider again or recommend them to my family or friends. Their customer service is horrible!

Aurora Health Care encounter with mri tech

Recently i was suppose to have my MRI done at this location. The person taking me in was extremely short and rude. I dont understand why people are like that. On top of this, the person smelled like weed to the point it was overwhelming. I didnt ask them about it so its not awkward but it made me feel uncomfortable. I dont recall the name exactly but it was anthony i think based on his interaction with someone else in front of me. I just wanted to bring this to someones attention because i feel like this is not appropriate behavior.

Aurora Health Care bullying/threatening

I had a Doctors Appointment on September 11th 2018, I was there for my A1C test, the medical assistant told me I was there for a physical (no) I said A1C test. She told me if I don't have the following done (mammogram, pap smear, colorectal screening, flu shot, pneumonia shot, hepatitis screening they can withhold my medications. I am not seeing this Doctor for any reason but Diabetes, high blood pressure, I don't appreciate someone bullying/threating me into having all these other procedures and telling me they are going to withhold my medications. What kind of practice is this? I bet they would not ask someone who doesn't have insurance to have these procedures done! I am now deciding to find another Doctor outside Aurora Health Care.

Aurora Health Care emergency room service/follow up with primary m.d.

I had taken my husband to urgent care 200 E. Ryan Road on Sunday 09/02/2018 at 9:00 am for sever headache, nausea, high fever chills, dizzyness for the last 6 days non stop.
Received excellant care thru staff & especially Wendy P.A. (don't recall last name) Wendy called ahead to St Lukes E.R. for a nuero consult with Dr. Lucas, due to my husbands occupation dealing with high grade contaminates on the Milwaukee River System/Violia.
She would only refer us to St. Lukes or Fredehrdt ... being a former of employee I immediately chose St. Lukes due to excellant reputation & prior positive experiences.
CT scan & lab ordered.
R.N. came in and diagnosed "hangover". M.D. came in to discharge stating follow up with primary M.D. (we laughed out loud at the absurdness of all this, till we got home, with out a diagnosis, with my husbands headache 102 fever chills returning that evening.) Called monday a.m. for appoinment with primary M.D. ... informed we haven't seen him enough & his practice is now closed. In the mean time my husband is responsible for a 70 foot vessel on the Great Lakes, along with his crew, no relief, no diagnosis, no M.D.
Great care here Aurora ... I will spread the word !

Aurora Health Care zoster vaccine saving and 50 mcg injection

On August 27, 2018, I was admitted to Aurora Sheboygan hospital for total knee replacement for my right knee. Prior to surgery my in room nurse came in to give me an injection. When I inquired to what it was, I was told it was a required shot but didn't say what it was. Surgery went well, but in recovery I had intense shivering. This puzzled me as I have never had this type of reaction to surgery.

After being released, I was going over my release paperwork and discovered the injection I was given was a zoster vaccine recumbent 50 mcg. I did not request this injection nor was I asked if I wanted this injection. I was also not informed that the shot was a vaccine. I was also not given any information regarding this shot, nor told of any side effects. Additionally, neither my surgeon nor my internist authorized this shot.

At the time of my pre-op physical with Dr. Patel, vaccines prior to surgery was not recommended.

I did not want this vaccine so why was it administered and the order signed by a doctor who is unknown to me. I have also had several side effectsrelated to this vaccine and I belief the intense shivering I had after surgery was a result of this unwanted vaccine.

Please contact me as soon as possible regarding this matter.

Thank you,

Aurora Health Care unprofessional behavior and failed birth control insertion

On May 16, 2018 I had an appointment to have my Nexplanon replaced. Nexplanon is a birth control that is inserted into your arm. I showed up to the appointment 25 minutes early and was taken back to a room shortly after. The RN that I had was training a new RN. She was going over the steps and how to enter everything into the computer. After she finished asking me questions (15 min worth of time approx) she then notified me that the doctor is always at least 15 min for work so that I better get comfy and that it would be awhile. She then laughed as they walked out of the room. About 5 minutes after my true appointment time the doctor walked in. I was fine with this as I just expect doctors to be running a little behind as they are busy sometimes. The doctor walked in and asked her questions, and then she had me lay down to take out the old Nexplanon and put in the new one. She told me that I would feel a tiny pinch as she instered the needle for the numbing medication. 3 seconds after the [censored] she started cutting. My arm was NOT numb yet and I told her I could feel it still. She said that I shouldn't but that she would give me a little more numbing medication. She did and then removed the old Nexplanon and placed the new one. The RN then placed a steri-strip and a gauze and then wrapped my arm with a sticky bandage (ace wrap but sticky). The RN told me that I could removed the bandage later that night before bed. The doctor left and then the RN proceeded to tell the training RN that the MD will not dispose of a certain tool as a sharps but that it is and to not listen to her because she does that wrong. I then had to ask the RN if I was good to go and she said that I was all done. Throughout the day I noticed that my arm would hurt when I extended it fully but the MD said that the pain is normal and having had Nexplanon before I didn't think anything of it. That night around 9:00 p.m. I removed the bandage. When I pulled the sticky bandage off the gauze was attached as my arm had bled through a little bit. I pulled the gauze off and noticed my arm had what looked like some extra gauze. I pulled on it and noticed that it was attached to a clear tube... which was the Nexplanon! It was sticking 1/2 inch out of my arm! When I called the RN line she stated that I should call the MD first thing in the morning and be seen within 24 hours but if I spiked a fever I needed to head to the nearest emergecy room. I placed a new bandage on my arm and then called the MD in the morning. After speaking to the RN she stated that I was not supposed to remove the bandage and that the RN who told me to was wrong. She said she could get me in to see the MD in about 45 min but I was already at work with no coverage for 2 hours. I told her that I prefer to come in the next morning but she said that doctors don't work on Fridays. She then said that my job should understand but if I couldn't come in that I should go to the urgent care after work. I told her that I am not going to go pay for a doctor visit for their mistake. She then said it wasn't their mistake and that I should have known not to pull the bandage off that night! She then told me that she was working with me and trying to be nice by squeezing me into a schedule of patient's who had booked appointments months ago and that those patient's have priority. I fail to see how I am at fault in any way considering the RN told me to remove the bandage in front of the MD who did not disagree! Such an unprofessional staff all around! The only person who was "professional" was the doctor--- who didn't put Nexplanon in correctly! Unfortunately my insurance locks me into Aurora. Such a shame.

Aurora Health Care aurora health care

I have been the victim of multiple incompetent staff and physicians. Through their ineptitude and faulty equipment, I have undergone failed invasive procedures and unnecessarily subjected to significant stress and suffered undo physical and emotional pain as a result. Staff training, risk management procedures and safety precautions remain unclear to me, as I am the one who has yet to hear from Aurora as to their full investigation. Risk management people delaying calling me because they are going in vacation.

Aurora Health Care failure to notify me of doctor not in the network at time of check-in.

Checked into eye doctor's office in Waukesha, WI on 05/05/17. Paid my co-pay, and showed my Humana ID card to the receptionist/office person. Went and had eye exam and tests performed by Dr. Rogers (first time I had him perform eye exam for me, but not the first time I had been to that same office for eye exams). After I completed the exam and discussed the results with the dr., I left the office; nothing was said to me by the receptionist. On June 8, 2017, I received a bill for $514 for the exam. When I contacted Aurora to ask why I was billed for the exam, I was told that Humana denied it, since Rogers was not in the network. I pointed out to Ulanda at Aurora that I was not informed at the time I showed my Humana ID card to the receptionist that Rogers was not in the network. Had I been so informed, I would have immediately chosen a different dr. in that office that was in the network. WHY DIDN'T THE PERSON INFORM ME AT THE TIME OF CHECK-IN THAT ROGERS WAS NOT IN THE HUMANA NETWORK?

Aurora Health Care burlington wi hospital er did not perform all tests needed for a car crash victim

On 11/17/2016 I was involved in a car crash, where I was transported to Burlington WI emergency room with a lacerated tongue and lower lip, also complaining of neck, back and leg pain. The ER doctor came in and looked at my tongue and lip, then stitched them both up. Never once sending me for an x-ray for my neck and back nor assessing any other injuries, it is nearly a year later and I am having issues with both my neck and back still, my leg seems to be doing fine. I was happy I was ok, and no one else was involved or hurt in the incident! I did not say anything further about my condition to the doctor or staff, ( about my neck and back) thinking the they (hospital staff) would be sending me for a x-ray but never did. might have had something to do with the law enforcement officers being present as they thought I was under the influence. It also never dawned on me that I never got my other injuries looked at then, because I was happy to be done and leaving the hospital thinking about how bad my face hurt and I was bleeding, couldn't talk and barley walk. But now regret leaving as I am in pain and uncomfortable all day everyday, with pain, stiffness and discomfort from my mid back to the base of my skull all in my neck as well.
