onion rings
As a previous employee, I have always enjoyed A&W the rings have always been the main attraction for me. On july 31 2018 at aprox. 430 pm @ the kildonan place Mall in Winnipeg Manitoba location I was served up the worst serving of onion rings ever no separation, way to much seasoning salt, and uder cooked (onion was still cold) I left a complaint on the survey box, went to return the rings and the server gave me a look (which took her 7-8 minites to acknowledge me ) of and why and what do you wish me to do . All I would have asked for was a replacement but the time I waited was gunna cause me too miss my bus, so I shrugged my shoulder and left .
unethical behavior
I am a former A&W worker of 3 years who has been out of a job because of unfit work behavior.
The morning of April 24th A&W manager Jay who is also very flirtatious and inappropriate with employees and customers argued with the A&W cook Meng who is ignorant and stubborn won't listen to anyone but himself.
The argument was over who was in charge. They took things behind the A&W and fist fought. The boss Kevin had to pull manager Jay off of the cook Meng. Seen working together the next day without discipline.
We have had many people leave including myself quit work because of this behavior and horrible working conditions. The Manager Jay is the type of person who would rather make friends with the people of the morning staff then to make them stock for other shifts. The night time shift stocks everything. Every night going to work to be short staffed and having to clean up and stock the entire kitchen, lobby, and prep area before even starting my own shift. While being short staffed we have to do all the prep work and dishes. This happens EVERY shift.
Yesterday I wast at the mention location above in Hamilton -ON. I noticed that the employee was making the food and his hands was already injured and he was rapped them in plastic bandage. It was so discussing speciallly in front of the customers and it’s not good for the person’s health if anything enters to the stomach, and when I asked that emplyee she told me that they’re not allow to wear the gloves!
The customer’s life and safe is in employee’s hands.
breakfast burgers / very poor customer service
I ordered one bacon & egg combo, one bacon & egg sandwich and one cheese & egg. I paid for my food and was waiting for it, I went to the drive thru by the way. One of the girls open the back door with someone's order but there was no cars parked so she went back inside she came's up at the window with the bag, the cashier open's the window and started asking me about my order and I told her what I had ordered .
She's like oh this is your order I'm like no one parked me so why would she take my order out thru the back door . I took my order parked my car to double check if it's correct, when I open the bag I was like oh my GOD the burgers were all squished in upsides down .
When I called the restaurant to talk to the manager I told her what had happened and she said it was some other manager who bagged your order so she handed the phone to the other one u told her my order she said yeah I bagged it and when I told her what I saw inside the bag she started to blame someone else. I'm like how am'l suppose to serve this to my kids all she said was I'm sorry.
I mean I wasn't asking for a refund or a replacement. But please train your people right on how to treat your customers because we pay for our food and the food that I was given no one would touch it .

I ordered 2 spicy chicken combos with fries and coke...and I ordered one of the spicy chikken with no lettuce, no tomato with extra red onions..but they put lettuce on my burger..and they didn't put any napkins and ketchup in the beg...which i told them to do..they screw up my whole order..i will never come to this location...thanks

At seremban branch your services was very poor...your staff one of them very rude and showing face to customer...her name was ashwini...I went to order root beer only but she add floot...wen I called her and canceled it she was showing her face...due to that I'm really angry..in case customer canceled item because of many reason..but your working staff have to patient and smile when they serve...but your staff ashwini are not...she rude to other customer...please motivate your staff how to be patient and how to smile while serve..thank you..
a&w customer service
I was overcharged and waited about 15 minutes for my "fast" food. The bill was atrocious and the person at the window didn't even acknowledge the wait. I emailed customer service two times and it has been over two weeks. No email back like I asked for. I would like a refund because the poor service and overcharging. To be honest I feel like they are ignoring it hoping i will drop it. I wonder how many others who contacted a&w customer service have gotten the same treatment. I'm not going back until they resolve it.
I have a complain I purchase 2 Bottle of Aw Rootbeer Soda and when to drink them the was half going I notice on both bottle had inside holes at the top of the bottle. Which could be seen with the soda fill to top. That just spoil my thrist for my Rootbeer float.

I am a very loyal customer to a&w. I go very often! Iam very bothered and totally grossed out every time my food arrives when I order chili cheeses fries and they are full of salted French fries! I really really really hate that the fries that are used for chili cheese fries are salted! Its so salty and horrible! Plain fries should be used for chili cheese fries. I have eaten them long enough without complaining to the corporation. I have complained to the restaurant itself but they dont seem to care one bit! I am not the only one who feels this way. I know several people who have complained about the same issue! Please take kindly to my suggestions! Thank you from your loyal customer in Ortonville Michigan!
customer service showing racism
I've been eating at A&W for a while now but experienced a rude racist server today. Initially she asked, 'Can I help serve the Next Customer in Line' and I was the only one there at that time so I knew something was wrong. Then after ordering she asked for my name so she can call me once the meal is available. After a few minutes two other customers ordered the same sandwich and the server took their order in the same manor. A few more minute went by and one of their meals were ready and so was the other after another 3 - 4 mins. There was now a lineup occurring so I went to the counter to ask what is taking so long with my order but at this time a Manager came out and asked if she could help me. I told her my name and what I was waiting for and she looked at the screen and then kept apologizing profusely knowing that I was not served while waiting after two other customers who had ordered the same sandwich. The initial server also looked and played dumb as though she didn't know what happened and didn't even look or apologize at all. She knows exactly what she did and made sure that she served the other customers who white even though she herself is brown and didn't want to serve a Black customer sufficiently.

On 9/22/17 I visited your restaurant in West Valley City, Ut 84118 at about 7:00 P.M. When I got to the door thee was a note that said Due to the lack of employees please use the drive up.
I might mention that this is in a location that also has a KFC in the same location. I went through the drive thru and the girl on the speaker said that they would not have chicken for 20 minutes, I told her I wanted Papa Burgers and fries an drinks and she told me it would take her 15 minutes to fire up the grill and it may take a little longer because she was the only one there.
I said no thank you and left...
Where was the manager and other employees? On a Friday night its normally busy, that's why I waited until 7 to go in. This was totally unacceptable, and I will not want to go to another place again if this is how you treat your customers and employees.

We went through the drive thru at the new Salisbury location we pulled in at 618pm . It took 22 mins from start to finish. The cashier Amy was pleasant when taking our order but was very short with us at the window. Not offering us napkins, ketchup or salt and pepper. Shutting the window quickly before letting us ask for anything . Through the window there were lots of workers inside so not sure why it took so long... Disappointed in the poutine no flavor.. teen burger was excellent.
classic bacon & eggs
So hungry this morning so I went to my favourite a&w 17 ave se calgary ab branch. Staff are very accomodating service were great but omg my bacon is soft and greasy. Looks like its been sitting on the counter for hours and hours cant eat it. I used to have crispy and hot bacon serve. So disappointed today. There should be a time check if the bacon is still ok to be serve.

I had pay to book today outdoor party at kindergarden to celebrate my children birthday . But the A&W fail to deliver the food & arrange the party celebration due to branch manager never inform their staff on this.
There is 30 children sit & wait for the food coming ... This making me very disappointed. I pay for the services in order to make my children happy . At the end this is the result i get .
No party, no food, no arrangement

I bought a meal at this St.Stephen A&W drove 10minutes to my house started to eat my meal which consist a fry and 2 teen burgers got about quarter of my fries and found a hair called the store to complain just an answer machine left a message about the hair and my phone number to call me back and never received a call back this was May 13 2014 at store#7213 I think I at least deserve an apology but no acknowledgement at all not good for business

On Sunday afternoon I was at the A&W with my son and I order chicken strips, also asked to make it into a meal . I also order other foods with that its cost me $13.78 I went to sit down and saw i got only 2 chicken strips, so walked back and said i should be getting 3 chicken stripes, and the order taker was Karen as well a supervisor. She was talking to me very rude saying that I should pay for another chicken strip, and embarrassed me in front of so many people . And she was asking me to pay for another one.
I did not like the way she was talking and Im regular costumer at the A&W and always been getting 3 chicken strips and also with kids combo.
This experience at this location made me very mad and embarrassed so I wont go there again .
Also my son was very upset because he always gets 3 chicken strips and they are his favorite, and I had to tell him this time he only gets 2, because the service was very poor .
Kids combo includes 2 chicken strips. Adult combo has 3.

bad customer service
Tried to go through the drive-through to get breakfast this morning but got stuck behind a vehicle that seemed to be chatting to the staff member instead of ordering food. I got out of the line up, parked and went in to order. Just as I was paying for my food the same car pulled up to the window. The staff member went to the window (even though my transaction wasn't 100% complete) and started to chat with the folks again. No money was taken and no food was given to them so it just seemed to be a chatting session. My food had been ready to be packaged for awhile so I got frustrated and asked the staff member to get my food so I could get to work. She stopped chatting and got my order.
In summary the paying customer was ignored and the "friends" seemed to be the priority. It's sad when someone in a restaurant who only had one paying customer at the time couldn't provide decent customer service.

Went out for a quick supper and ordered a salad instead of fries with my burger went back to the till with the salad in hand which consisted of lump of lettuce a few shredded carrots and purple cabbage - NO TOMATOES...when asked if I could get any tomatoes I was told I could not as they had no tomatoes for the salads as the manager or whoever never went to the store to get any for the salads ...but they had tomatoes in the restaurant for the hamburgers...cant figure that one out...wont go back...tried to eat healthy but I don't call a salad lettuce carrots and cabbage...rotten...ended up dropping on the floor I was so mad and I was told I could have fries if I wanted pretty poor and 2 grocery stores on each side of premises. Don't believe they have to go out to get groceries for their establishment...

not every salad comes with tomatoes--they probably only have enough tomatoes for the sandwiches, why should they have to go buy you a tomato--couldn't you have done that yourself?

We were waiting for our food. There is a juke box there and it was free to play. I put a song on and my name was called to pick up my food. While I was waiting the manager went up to the jukebox, gave my girls a dirty look. Then she yanked the machine to the back side and ripped the cord out. Then she put a sign that said out of order. Isn't the box there to play music? I was not happy about that and the place was messy. Floors were sticky and tables unclean. I will never go there again.

I agree with the previous poster. You should have confronted the manger.
rude staff
I visited the above restaurant with my family to order some food. We ordered a 2 piece chubby chicken meal, a 3 piece chubby strips meal, a mozza burger(just the burger) and a chubby chicken burger(just the burger)and paid $26.73. We were told that we have to wait for the chicken and we said that it was fine. We where not given any of the other food in the mean time. After about 10 min we were given the food without the Mozza burger. I went up to the counter and told the employee named Monica that i did not receive my burger. Long story short i was told that i didn't pay for the Mozza burger at which point I paid for it again, I got nothing but attitude including dirty looks and can clearly hear a conversation that Monica was having with another employee about how she's going to loose it on me and so forth. After waiting again for the burger I finally got it with a barrage of more dirty looks. I don't know what you're policy on customer service is but the service i got from Monica leaves a lot to be desired. If this had happened in a Mcdonalds or Burger King I am pretty sure I would not be treated like this.
What does it matter what the receipt says, they forgot to add the burger so why should I have to pay for it. I should get it for free since they forgot to add it to the order. They wanted me to pay extra for the damn burger and when I refused to pay they refused to give the burger. Then they threatened to call the police if I did not leave and gave me dirty looks.

I attend a birthday party with my daughter yesterday. As we know, when 12 of the 7 years old kids party, it must be noisy. The staff there came to the kids with the monsters angry face, warned all the kids to shut their mouth, or else she will wrap them in the rubbish bag and throw into the dustbin! oh my God! what kind of service! She repeat these rude manners in front of all of the us three times. To not spoil the kids mood, the host just ignore her rude attitude. When the kids request for ice cream, the host place order, they told us, they are not sell to us, it need to be reserve for fasting people! We book till 6.30pm, but 6pm she came to ask for table clearing... Sincerely this will be my last time in A&W Kemaman. some more the smell from the wash room is disgusting. Hope A&W management can train their representative properly... now when I saw A & W, it is similar to Allien & Witches! Please don't let your kids in this place, you pay them, and your kids got curse!

rude & poor service
I recently stopped at the drive thru window and ordered 2 diet cokes. We thought the price was a bit expensive @ $5.10. Once we drove to the window, the lady with purple fingernails gave us 3 diet cokes. I advised her we only ordered two diet cokes. Her reply was, "You paid for three, you might as well take them." If I had wanted three, I would have ordered three. I dropped the third one in front of her window and drove off, as I had nowhere to put the third drink.
At that point, you have to pull your car into a space, go into the restaurant and request a manager refund your purchase price for the third drink. To complain about it this long after you left the restaurant is pointless.
