I placed at order at the Clintonville A&W at 10:50 am on Saturday, April 20, 2019. Trans #: 312336. There were at least 3 people after me that ordered and got their food before I did. I was taking my food home. I ordered 2 meals and 2 kids chicken strip meals. I waited well over 15 mins to get my food. This is a common occurrence when I place orders at this restaurant. So much for fast food!

SHARP OBJECTS IN FOOD. WTF! THANKS A&W.
I picked up 2 English muffin sausage and egger's this morning at 3:50am before heading to work.
As i was eating one of the sandwiches doing my reports i feel something sharp on my tongue.
I spit out the food onto my desk and see there is a big sharp hard piece of eggshell in my sandwich.
Currently at this moment trying to stop the blood from dripping from my tongue and cheek.
I usually eat at this place a lot in the mornings but not anymore.
You hear about places that have things hidden in their sandwiches and i never thought this place would be one of them. Wow.

I showed up in the drive thru A&w 118ave 4205 Edmonton, ab at 8:30 pm Jan 28/19 with a $4.99 MoMA burger combo coupon as I was speaking to the girl with broken English through the machine I told her I have a mona coupon and would like what ever that included and for my drink root beer after that I thought she said my total which I could not understand at all so I drove ahead. After 10minutes I get to the window and am told my total is $7.62 I asked how is that possible I only wanted what's on the coupon so she gets angry and try's to tell me I ordered onion rings I told her those words never came out of my mouth once so I pass her the coupon again she puts it back in the machine I pay by tapping with no receipt I get handed my food and ask for my receipt it says $5.97 not $5.23 which it should be so she has the window shut I'm sitting there waiting to ask why not mad at this point she won't open the window and seems angry then the male worker tells her I'm waitinv even though she's standing there and knows I am . Finally opens the window I ask her why the price difference she proceeds to yell at me and tells me I ordered cheese I say know I didn't she goes and gets the manager to which I thought I'd get an apology and a new burger because I can't eat lactose like cheese instead I get a you ordered with cheese at this point I'm getting mad as she's yelling at me over his shoulder I told her as she was yelling she needs to start listening better and not just add what ever she wants to ppls orders then at this point the young male manager starts actually calling me names he called me a [censored] and a racist I said how the hell am I a racist because I want my order correct and for the staff to do their jobs ? So as he kept swearing at me I decided to drive away as he called me a piece of [censored] and even made fun of my dog because the window was open . I placed a complaint this the store never heard back I guess they allow stuff like this to happen at the 118ave 42st a&w edmonton very poorly run and embarrassing staff to say the least .

I used to enjoy a burger and fries at A&W, whatever you did to the fries is disgusting! I know a lot of others who wont go there because of the fries. It is expensive to eat there and would be ok if I could eat the fries but i cant. They used to be light and crispy, now they have the skin on and they are mushy. Hopefully you will look into going back to the good fries, until then I and several 9others I know definitly wont eat there.

I visited the Vaughan Mills food court on December 27th. I ordered for my kids 5 Buddy Burgers. Waited over 15 min for my order and when I told the staff why would it take so long, all the staff ( 2 girls that work there) just looked at me a laughed . They were too busy socializing rather than working. No manager in sight. This is not the first time I have had poor service at this location. Last time i ordered plain burgers for my kids, got fully dressed burgers, took them Back and was in shock when I got them back went to sit down and all they did was scrape the toppings off! At the end of it all, I got 5 plain buddy burgers 20 min. Later and when I checked the bag, they had forgotten my fries so I had to tell them. Horrible experience!

This is disgusting this is how your place looks everyday. Your manager is rude to customers and employees. Your food is cold there is whitish blond pink hair in your cold food and when it's brought to the manager she treats you like your a piece of [censored] and that's not right. Your manager is only in it for the money not the business maybe you should have kept the right manager and got rid of the problem manager. Must be nice loosing money because of your manager. If you decide to send someone to check the store don't give them a heads up. If you let them know you will be there on a certain day they will clean the store from top to bottom and once you are done the cleaning stops. As soon as the one manager left all cleaning stopped. Please catch them when the store is like this don't give them any notice.

My friend and I stopped at the A&W in the Abbotsford Mall, in B.C. Canada Dec. 4, 2018, to have your mushroom burger and I was so dissatisfied with how the burger was put together. The place was not busy at the time, when I opened the burger there was three thinly sliced mushrooms on the burger and the meat had no flavour at all, very disgusting. My husband and I have been going to A&W since the late 50's and have seen many changes in your burgers due to economy but this was the worst tasting and presentation, very sloppy, I have ever seen for the price.

I have asked that the pothole in the driveway at this Mississauga franchise be fixed for over 3 months. Nothing has been done and the hole continues to get bigger. This is a real hazard for people and their cars. Someone should sue the franchise owner and AW for the repairs to there car. I have brought this to the attention of management numerous times. This is a 1 minute repair job that could prevent possible legal action.

To whom it may concern - I have recently had a meal in one of your restaurants and was shocked that the staff doesnt wear GLOVES when putting burgers together. You know now that it doesnt matter how many times you wash your hands in a day. As a former hospitality worker for most of my life that one small partical can be transfered from one food to another by un protected hands. You never know who could be allergic to one specific ingredient that was touched previously when putting another burger together. I would suggest that all staff start wearing Gloves when making food as it is a standard practice in health and safety. I dont think your staff has been well versed on WHMIS. I hope in future that we will see staff wearing gloves in preparing food for customers. I hope you will take this comment to heart and appreciate your time.

Hi there.

I was driving between Edmonton, Alberta and my home in Kimberley BC yesterday October 27. I hadn't yet tried the Beyond Meat burger and was excited to pick one up somewhere along the way.

Driving through Okotoks, I pulled into the A&W drive-thru and ordered my lunch (small fries and a Beyond Meat burger). The person on duty asked if I would like cheese. As I have been vegan for two years, I declined and asked if you had vegan mayo. She said "No, but I will make sure we leave the mayo off". I thanked her and pulled through to the pickup window.

The clerk at the pickup window asked me if I was waiting for a Mama Burger with cheese. I said "No! My order is for the Beyond Meat burger, no cheese!" She said "Oh! Ok!" She took my money, took a bag from the staff member behind her, stapled the recipt to the bag and handed it to me. I thanked her and left.

As I mentioned, I was on the road and started heading towards Black Diamond. I nibbled on my fries first, and it was 20 minutes or so before I pulled the burger from the bag and started eating. I took a bite, and then another before I felt the texture of both meat AND cheese and spat it out on my lap. It was the Mama Burger with cheese. I pulled over, vomited what I had swallowed, and took a couple of photos.

Now, I realize that mistakes happen, and want to be clear that the staff members I dealt with were very pleasant. But I was obviously very distressed by the incident. It was so exciting to have a vegan option at A&W and I was so looking foward to it. I purposely did not pack a lunch in anticipation of enjoying the Beyond Burger.

I haven't eaten beef in 30 years or dairy in two years, so this kind of mix-up is very upsetting. Normally, I would have brought the product back to the store it was purchased from, but this was not an option as I was passing through to BC.

I have attached a photo of the receipt, still stapled to the bag, and of the partially-eaten burger. I would like, at the very least, to be compensated for my meal. I would still like to give the Beyond Meat burger a try, and promise to check my order before I leave!

Finally, I want to thank you for branching out with this product and to suggest that you start offering Hellman's vegan mayo and maybe some vegan cheese (such as Chao or Earth Island).

Been sitting, stuck in this a&w drive thru for 40 minutes. I have never waited this long in a drive thru in my entire life. Just got to the window and the employee didnt even say hi or anything. Location is mapleview/veterans in Barrie Ontario. I will never come here again. I waited 40 minutes just to get a chicken buddy burger. You would think the staff would at least apologize, or even say hello.

The pattie of the plant based beyond me burger I ate yesterday, on 11th Oct 2018, was not the same type of pattie in the Beyond me burger I ate in August 2018 that was made of various veggies in it.

When this product was initially introduced on promotion in summer 2018, it tasted so good. I noticed that there were different veggies in the pattie back in Aug 2018.

The pattie i had in the beyond me burger yesterday was horrible. It tasted like wet cardboard.

Is the beyond me burger pattie made of soy beans or various veggies?
I do not like soy bean patties.

As an addition to this complaint
The a&w veggie burger pattie should not be rice based as it is very starchy and tasteless. Very disappointing to eat rice pattie with bread. Starch on starch. Yuck.

A veggie pattie should be made from black beans or white beans or a mix medley, not soya beans, peas, sweet peper carrots & even onions.

Soy beans and corn are gmo and have alot of pesticides.

On night of Oct 10, 2018, 1 teen with 2 kids went to get some pies and drinks. Upon paying, one kid changed her mind and asked for a different pie. The cashier was getting frustrated and had a very bad attitude: "Oh my gosh, you guys are crazy, you guys can't even make your mind up". We don't think this should be said to customers, any customers! No matter what kind of people they are.

Ordered the Beyond Burger, got home and found little shreds of bacon stashed in between the pickles - never would have noticed except I don't like pickles so I was taking them off! Looked like the bacon had been hidden there on purpose. Called the location, spoke to the Manager and was offered a chicken burger! Seriously! Do they not realize that the majority of people ordering the Beyond Burger are either Plant Based, Vegan or Vegetarian so why in the world would the offer us a chicken burger.

A&W you need to educate your staff as to why the Beyond burger is so popular and make sure they don't add meat or dairy unless they're asked to. Oh and maybe hire staff that can be trusted with peoples food.

I have since emailed a full complaint through, awaiting a response.

Sunday Sept 23rd at 12:30am I went to the drive thru at 4130 Calgary trail in Edmonton Alberta and bought 2 Teen burgers and asked for no pickles or tomatoes on both, when I got home I found out both had tomatoes and pickles.

I don't go to this location often but every time I do they mess up my order. I can't eat tomatoes because I'm allergic and I can't stand pickles, even if I pick them off I can still taste it.

I'm very disappointed in the service at this location.

You really should check in on the Dodgeville Wi A&W. This years new owners/management is terrible. Slow service food is cold or they don't answer mic when pressed. Check out Facebook rants. I have personally seen videos of employees throwing ice cream at other employees. They have water fights which is a danger to staff. Even been told they don't answer mic because they are goofing off. Manager won't even call a customers order back because he screwed up on pick up time. He makes other employees do it.
Every year it's a highlight when the local A&W opens its sad to see this place go down hill.

I ordered a 3 piece combo with a chocolate milkshake at the drive thru window in Powell River. When I left order station I noticed that the combo price with drink had not changed and a combo price for chocolate shake was added. When I got to the pay/collect window I told lady that I would rather have the regular drink with the combo as well as a chocolate shake. She said okay and charged me $14 and change. When got home I noticed she had overcharged me by adding the cost of a regular drink. When I called the store the lady who served me answered the phone and after explaining the situation she got frustrated when I said I was overcharged she hung up the phone. This is not customer service.

I'll never return and I'll be sure to spread the word around to others. Never will return back here. It was the worst so called customer service I have had in a very long time. Sickening how my son and I and other customer had been treated today. Downright disgusting unjustifiable no excuses. And I will most definitely be sure to spread the word around.

we went to Wilson and dufferin loacation ordered 4 papa burgers with fries...got 4 drinks in paper cup...but no ice on a HOT DAY...I finished one of my drink...when I finally got my burgers...asked the lady for refill...refused and told me no ice...poor slow service...with only one pickle on my burger..tomatoe slice was eextra..STILL no ice...manager came...was continued rude told him poor slow service...said to take with head office...or file this complaint when I asked for my money back...said sorry..you are stuck with food...no toppings..extra charge and NO ICE on my drinks

I visited above captioned fast food located in Vancouver BC. Canada. Downtown 1158 alberin st. I confronted the most unpleasant with Manager woman name Doggie. Not to mention about her service attitude, her English-speaking ability is way beyond my comprehension. As a tourist of family of 6, we got the very bad impression of such customer service in Canada nationwide. Very regret and never again go to A&W again.
