The Bank of America sent me letters saying they are restricting my accounts in 20 days and closing them in 30 days. I called the phone number on the letters, but only an answering machine says "this is the closure department and this was done for Business Reason and no further info can be given". I sent a complaint on the web through my account, I was advised to go to a local branch. I did, but the manager had no answer, he said the closure department is above any branch and he can not help me because he can not access their information.

The strange thing is that I have an excellent banking history, high credit score and never defaulted on any payment. I also had with them a mortgage which was paid always on time until I sold the property.

I stopped long time ago using the online payment system of the Bank of America. The reason is because the funds are taken away immediately from my account at the time I schedule the payments. If your check does not reach the person who you intend to pay, the money is swallowed by the bank. I used to make automatic monthly payments to charities and found out that the charities did not cash their checks over a year. The money was taken from my account and I was never told about this. Thus instead of making life easier the online payment system of the Bank of America makes it harder sine you have to keep track of things among many. I use currently online payment service from two other banks which are excellent since funds are not deducted from the account until actually the checks are cashed or deposited. This way there is no money lost and no need to track things so closely.

Despite the above I kept accounts with the Bank of America because it was the first bank I used when it was named"Bank of New England", then "Fleet Bank", then "Bank of Boston", then Bank of America. I thought because I have excellent banking history, it is good to keep an active account with this bank, although I have accounts at local banks whenever I relocated.

It is a humiliating experience to try to talk to somebody at the Bank of America about the account closure. My experience proved that this bank is not customer friendly when it comes to discuss such issues.

I truly believe they did a mistake because they lost a good customer, however, my complaint is related to the humiliating way of the closure and that the system they set in place does not distinguish between good customers and bad ones.

I contacted the Offcie of currency controller (their regulator) and did an online complaint form with the regulator. 5 days later Bank of America called me to withdraw my money at the branch. Problem solved. I hate Bank of America. Worst bank ever.

Don’t call it! It’s a scam. Just make a complaint to OCC (bank of America’s regulator). Do it online and they force bank of America to address your account concerns.

We just had the same happen with USAA yesterday, shopping for last minute Thanksgiving ingredients when the cc was declined, as well as our debit card. I am shocked and stunned. At first we thought fraud or mistake, or internal lack of staffing to the bank resulted in an administrative error. Spouse is in financial industry. Nope. No reason. We were simply advised the bank is discontinuing banking relationship - no explanation. Nothing. My father is honorably discharged US Air Force Captain hence the USAA affiliation. Next morning by 09:00 HRS we were at the local bank moving everything out of the USAA umbrella. We will be doing the same with our cell service - we will move everything to a local vendor with whom disputes can be resolved face to face.

BANK OF AMERICA has failed me and my children. I was planning to move out of my house due to our life being in danger. My house has been burglarized and vandalized. I can’t take my babies back to that house. I found a home that I got approved for was supposed to pay the deposit on it but boa closed my account out of nowhere claiming “suspected fraud on account” with well over 10k in it. That money is MY MONEY! Now they’re giving me the run around saying I have to wait two months on a cashier’s check🤬they closed my savings account within 4 days, what’s taking so long for them to fully close the account. I’m very angry with them. They’ve caused me to loose so much🥺I can’t wait that long on my money. This is ridiculous. Every rep says the same thing… “oh well you just gotta wait on the cashiers check” no sympathy at all. I wouldn’t recommend this bank to my dog

Sorry to all of you, I'm having an issue, not with BOfA, but with some prepaid accounts I legitimately use, trying to rebuild my credit.. What a disgrace the American banking system has become,. MMT.. look it up

I had- 2 business accounts, 2 business credit cards, 2 personal accounts, 1 personal credit card (for 25 yrs) as well as my mortgage and auto loan. In addition I had numerous paid off auto loans and mortgages over 20+ yrs. Credit excellent, no bounced checks, 500k balances and they were making at least 1k a month in interest off me on the credit cards. Then out of blue I had everything but the mortgage canceled after almost 30 yrs of being a active client. Weeks of calls, weeks of emails and no answer at all. In addition they took back over 1k in unredeemed credit card rewards. Pitiful company and I make it a point to talk anyone with a BofA account to switch

Did you or anybody else ever get this resolved? The exact same thing happened to me about a month ago. They (BOA) are currently holding roughly $128K of my money. I filed a compliant with the OCC who says the bank "typically replies within 10-20 days". I did receive an email from "Enterprise Resolutions" (see email below), but the number and extension they provide goes strait to voicemail every single time.

Closed my business checking and savings. No notice , just closure notice.

4 months ago I had a fraudulent ach debit on main account that I caught and had a stop put in, opened new checking and savings, just to have it closed 4 months later. I’ve been a customer for a total of 4 years, but now I see with BOA that doesn’t matter at all.

Bank of America closed my accounts with a check I deposited one day away from posting to my account. No accountability, almost 600 dollars just withheld from me with the closure. Mind you I've been waiting more than 10 days for the check to clear and they close the account with ONE DAY LEFT BEFORE THE FUNDS WERE SET TO BE AVAILABLE! UNACCEPTABLE!

I have had Bank of America for years. This horrible company wrote me a bad check and the bank then closed my account. I have funds still in there and they can’t do anything. I’m so mad I even banked with them in the first place. These are truly thee worst banks in the world .

I’m completely disgusted

I had my personal credit card closed today by Bank of America no prior warning. Thankfully I had this card paid off. I don't know why they would do that to me. I had the card for 17 months, on credit karma it shows they closed it on the 1st of September, except I get an email today saying in was closed as of the 16th of September 2022.

Eric, same thing happened to me back in early 2021. Was a customer and huge fan of BOFA. Excellent credit score 760-800 range, $98,000 credit limit on three different cards. Platinum $3,000, Travels Rewards $5,000 and Cash Rewards $90,000. The closed my savings, checking account, all three credit cards, business checking account, and business travel card $5,000. I found out when I tried using my cash rewards to pay for a restaurant check and it came up as stolen. I proceeded to call the bank and was transferred to different areas until I reached one that just treated me like a nobody and pretty much stated that I was having all my accounts closed due to a business decision and that it was a final decision. If you or anyone on this trend know of any legal action that can be taken to reinstate these accounts please post. Also why is BOFA doing these to customers with excellent credit scores and no missed payments.

They did this to me w no notification and left me stranded 8 hours away from home. Still have not gotten my money. There was a news article from CBS I just Emailed to help me as they helped another woman get her money back after doing the same thing to her.

This just happened to me. Only had the account 5 months and never negative and payroll goes in every two weeks. Was told my account is under review, but not marked for closure yet I asked, will it be closed and what information they just get me off the phone and say that they are doing this for my protection and their protection.

Had my payroll check go in today won’t allow me to withdraw the funds. Indicated my auto drafts for bills will be rejected until resolved.the account doesn’t have much but it it does have $2,400 in it and they won’t let me have the money until they do their review.

Had an escalated ticket to let me withdraw funds at the branch and that’s 3-5 days….

Thank god I’m partnered or I would be screwed.

The same thing happened to me. BOA closed my accounts for a false claim against my business. No information was requested from me nor any contact. They just closed the account. And after numerous explanations and letting them know the situation they never believed and accused me of committing fraud. After banking with them for over 8 years. They listened to just anyone who files a claim. The agents have no idea of what is going on and don't know how to resolve any issues. Everyone just read notes from their computer. But they still don't understand details. I see why it's so much fraud dealing with banks now. I would never recommend for anyone to bank with BOA. If you have any issues they have no idea on how to solve the matter.

Just had my credit card cancelled! Got no answers, of course. No balance on it, but let's hit her credit score! Dirty! Got an email 2hrs ago saying it'll be cancelled today. After it was declined YESTERDAY! [censored] YOU BANK OF 'MERIKA!

I am so sorry this happen to you. I thought I was the only customer Bank of America treated like this. I have filed so many complaints on Bank Of America since June 21, 2023 when my account was closed for no reason at all. They told me the same thing...to get to a branch. Got to a branch. They had no answers and told me they had no way of giving me my bank balance. All those years of good banking and this is how they treat me? Then I contact Risk Closure and they say...we can't verify over the phone so we have to hang up and you have to step into a branch. But sir ... I am here at the Branch with Two forms of ID, No Help at all. band Of America has the Worst system ever
