On August 21, 2023 I closed my business account that I never used. I was asked why I wanted to close my account, I said I never received the card for this account after asking twice. I also stated that with a few fraudulent charges to my personal account, I do not want to take the chance my business account will be tampered with.
The person that was assisting me kept trying to cross-sale me on other accounts, I kept declining. She then proceeded to have my card sent to me, EVEN after explaining I tried that... TWICE with me card at hand. My business account was finally closed, I felt relieved and went on with my life as usual.
I received a letter from Bank of America on August 21, 2023. The following is exactly what the letter states.
"We've made the decision to close your personal checking/savings account."
"We want to make sure you understand how this change affects you and what you can expect. In 21 days, your account will be restricted and permanently closed 30 days from the date of this notice."
The rest of the letter has "Things you need to do immediately". Other than that, there is NO specific explanation for their "decision to close" my personal checking account.
I have read on this site others had experience similar issues with no help from the branch or the phone number provided on the letter.
