When they bought out mbna they raised my rates from 12 to 24%, they said i missed a payment and i was a risk, yet i always paid more then min. They said call back in 4 months so i did now its sorry i cant help you, you have to much debt and i haven't paid enough off on account, but i haven't used it i 2 years and paying this much how can i pay much more off? I see how they have record profits by ripping us off like this what can i do?
People beware!
The bank of America located in abingdon md has a particular women named debbie glemming whom purposely i9ngnoreed returning my calls for over 4 hours. And when i asked for a manager they told me he was at lunch. Mind you this was at 3pm! I will never bank there again and i have at least a half dozen other tails i could tell about that location.
We are recent victims of a fraudulent transaction in which $25,000 was transferred from my BOA MasterCard to a Wachovia bank in FL by someone calling from CA. We live in TX. We received a letter from BOA that did not describe the transaction but mentioned a “balance consolidation” and enclosed new checks. When we called to inquire about the meaning of the letter we were told that the letter was the result of the transaction. BOA would not give us the name of the recipient but did tell us the number of the account and that the caller knew our SSN and a key question that we had used to open the account.
Wachovia would not give us the name but confirmed the transfer and mentioned that there had been suspicious activity in the account. We requested an investigation but came to understand that they cannot investigate until we sign an affidavit. This should arrive in a few days. Meanwhile the recipient can spend the account dry. Apparently there is no hurry because the account is insured and we will not lose anything. I’m guessing the FDIC will pay and no one seems to care beyond this.
We are very perturbed by the ease in which someone can transfer this amount of money, that no one calls to confirm the transaction, and that no one seems eager to investigate because of the insurance status. Poor banking principles have lost my accounts.
Have been a BOA customer over 10 years, each time I go in they insist that I need to have a an ATM card to receive cash over $1,000 when making a deposit. They can clearly see that my balance will cover any amount of cash received. This is bank policy I was told by the manager in charge and that I would need it to continue getting cash back. I have told them that I will not get an ATM card and that I could go to any other bank for better service, their comment is that they are sorry that I feel that way, end of conversation. Bank policy is very poor when trying to receive your own money from the bank.
I 'VE BEEN A VICTIM OF IDENTITY THEFT SINCE FEB 2006, AS OF 2007, B OA IS TRYING TO SUE ME . I HAVE FAX, MAILED,CALLED, AND TRY TO WORK WITH THEM FOR A YEAR AND NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CAN SUE ME FOR SOMETHING I DIDN'T DO. BOA IS NOT THE ONLY COMPANY THAT WAS FRAUD UNDER MY NAME, BUT BOA IS THE ONLY ONE THAT DID TAKE CARE THIS MATTER. I'M SEEKING FOR HELP WITH THIS MATTER CAUSE IS REALLY AFFECTING MY LIFE. MY CREDIT SCORE WENT DOWN AND I'M HAVEING A HARD TIME REFINANCEING MY HOME. I WENT INSIDE OF BOA BRANCH TO SOON PROOF, MY LICENSE,PAPERWORK,AFFADAVIT, POLICE REPORT AND BOA STILL WANT TO SUE ME. IT'S SAD, CAUSE ALOT OF PEOLPE OR GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING AND IT'S DESTROYING THERE LIFE.
Terrible customer on a refinance. Our loans was passed around to about 5 different departments. And they all passed the buck and made many mistakes!
I went to deposit my pay check on BOA's location at 2630 E Workman Ave, West Covina, CA 91791 inside the Albertsons Supermarket.
The bank hour should start at 10am but when I got there 10:03am, there were already 5 people on line and the bank was not ready to open. The staffs were still turning on computers, get their stuffs ready. So I went shopping for five minutes and returned. They were still not ready and let us wait until 10:13am. This is very unprofessional way to handle the business and we don't have to waste our time to get service.
This is not the first time I experienced their poor service. There was once I went there in the evening. There was a long line. They have three windows but only two were open. One of the bank staff were busying counting his money, balancing his worksheet, and did not open to service. He should have done those jobs after serving all customers in line.
I asked a customer service at Bank of America to send me an affidavid form so that I can sponsor my cousin for college. First, the staff said it took 5-7 days for me to receive. 8 days later, I called in and they still said it will be mailed out. I requested a manager at that customer service center to fax that form to one of the branch close to where I live so that I can come and pick it up. He said it is ok and he will put that form out on fax. For 3 days after that call, every day, I have been calling in to check for the fax status and every time, a staff said "it will arrive today before 6pm at that branch". This situation was so frustrating because it shows several bad customer service actions from Bank of America:
1- Slow mailing service (usually take less than 1 week) but
in my case, the mail never arrives
2- When the manager agreed on something, he or she just said that to get away from the conversation with the customers. Also, there is no record about that faxing request in the system when I checked back but every time, the bank answerers seems to lie to me (but one or two of them by accident revealed the truth about the no-logging request)
3-Every time I called in for the fax, every single staff said the fax would come within that same day but for 3 days it never did. This proved another point that all staffs at Bank of America just do not want to get involved into any unusual cases. If it is a normal case, they can help you but if there is an urgent or unusual request from a customer, the staffs either don't know what to do or just say something to drop or skip the customers' phone calls.
I have to agree in regards to this posting. Their lack of customer service sucks. A few months ago the bank teller refused to cash my check because I did not have "proper id." Yet, I've been a BOA customer for the past three years and not once have I been asked for my ID. I was furious at the lack of service, so I tried to give it a chance around drive thru. The teller at Drive thru cashed my check just fine WITHOUT having to show proper id. Mind you, I had the BOA Account Card AND my ATM/DEBIT Card along with my social security card and yet according to the 1st teller I needed proper identification. Their lack of service and concern for their customers speaks volumnes.
They have lousy customer service and plenty of ignorant tellers/employees.
My advice: withdraw all your money, CLOSE the account officially, and take your business elsewhere. You'll get better service from pretty much anybody.
Bank of America is just waiting for you to do something where they can sock it to you and make some extra $$ off of you.
Bank of america is a huge rip off they have instant overdraft fees while chase gives you at least a day. They just plain suck. Keep the change is a huge rip off. I regret opening an account them and will be going back to chase.
i have had a bank of america card for 7 years, since 9am on monday am i have spoken to 15 people over a 72 hr period.i was requesting a 2 page fax concerning my balance.i have been lie to given the run around and i have never been so aggitated in 60 years, i hope someone from bank of america reads this, i will never i repeat never again do buisness with b.o.a. i will encourage my family, friends and any one i come in contact with to not do business with these fools, i am going to have this put in the village newspaper with a senior circulation of 15, 000 and encourage all of them to cancel any business thery have with this one terrible bank aka b.o.a. ron bobba. ihope to hear from b.o.a.but i think not
I had a credit card out with Bank of America for over 2 1/2 years now and never missed any payments, I had a good credit history, paying off the credit card at the end of the month. I mailed my payment prior to the due date but it was not posted until one day after the due date and I was charge $39.00 finance charge. I called to get it credited and the Customer Service Manager stated that due to their policy they cannot refund the total amount because I was late. I told him that the payment was mailed on time, but they posted it one day later, he stated it is not the banks fault that the postal service is late delivering the mail they have their policies and must charge the late fee. This is very disappointing the same incident happened with USAA, but they credited the late charge because they realized the postal service problems and the check was posted one day late on their files, but the late fee was credited. I support 100% USAA they are customer friendly and work with the public.
Yeah they did the same thing to me on 2 credit cards. I was 2 days late on my payment and had a perfect history with them. My payments went from 300 a month to almost 800 a month. I tried to plead with them and they would not budge. So then I couldnt make the payments and they received nothing because I had to claim BK.
