Harrassing phone calls
I have been recieing phone calls from this company for about seven years. They are trying to locate a "Pastor Estrada, " whom of which I have no idea. I call back the 800# and am received with such rudeness it is unimaginable.
I've been told this will go on for as long as it does, get a new number deal with it. I asked to speak to a manager and was told no...Since I have no account with them, then I have no business speaking to a manager.
I am told they will take my number off their list, but that only lasts for about a year. Then the phone calls start again, about 3-4 per day. Each agent I've spoken to either hangs up or yells back at me as if this is my fault. What a measily existence!
I would caution ANYONE who choses to do business with this company to think twice. They are a very crass organization!

Debt Owe
I received a telephone call in September 2008 from this company named Bay Area Credit Service stated that I owed $125.00 from a past due telephone from January 2008. I asked why were they just now contacting me now, how come they didn't contact me sooner. The caller informed me that they sent a statement to this effect some months ago. I don't recall a bill from them and would they send me another one. I informed the caller that I didn't owe them and they said it was from AT&T. They separated a past due amount, but kept my phone on because I paid the current bill. I am under the impression that I paid the whole bill. And if I did owe how come my phone is still on. (still on to this date). The caller said that they would not send another bill out, because they only send one bill to the person owing and that's it.
I told the caller that I needed something telling me that I owe this money and identifying their company. It could be a fake company trying to get some money out of me. The caller said that they were not sending me another statement. This company called again around March or April 2009. We went thru the same circle and I still have nothing in writing backing up what this company is stating.
Around August 2009 another person (a guy with a forien accent) called and the same thing happened again. The guy would try and out talk me. Said that they were not sending another bill to me again. They sent one last year and that was all that I was getting. I tried to explain that I didn't remember getting it. Too bad was what I was told. He said that I could look up the information on the internet about his company and that that was good enough. I feel that this company should send me information stated that AT&T wanted them to collect some money that I owe them. I called AT&T about this and was told that they separated a past due amount that I owe and kept the phone on. No one told me this until about 9 to 10 months later. I asked could I pay them and they said that they (the phone company) didn't know who had the account. I explained to the Bay Area Credit Service that I wanted to settle this by paying them, but I wanted them to send me something stating the information needed to let me know about this debt owe. That's all I want before I pay them anything. There is too much trickery going on the phone and internet, and I am just protecting myself. I want this debt settled, but I also want to know who I am paying and who they are representing. And they refuse to do this, but they want me to pay them what THEY said I owed.

MOLE ALERT
Area Sick:
Are you trying to be taken seriously? Are you working for BACS or AT&T?
Why is she full of it? Why is it so difficult to understand that she wants an itemized account of what she owes and why she owes it? If this collection agency were truly legitimate, they would offer full written disclosure instantly. The crux of the matter is: why won't they honor her request and provide documentation in writing? This agency very well may have mailed her a bill in the past, but unless it was sent by certified mail, there is no way they can prove they mailed it or that she ever received it. With modern technology, it's not difficult to generate a copy of previous correspondence (if it, in fact, even exists) and then forward it. Why won't they comply?
Very few people are willing to pay blindly for unknowns, nor are they willing to put up with aggressive and unreasonable scare tactics. It is not unreasonable for her to question what's going on and try to get to the bottom of things (it's called due diligence); plus it is noble that she is willing to pay what she might actually owe, if indeed anything. She is very wise to question this situation and to not succumb to bullying and railroading. She has questions, and she would like answers. Have some respect.
Have you read any of the other posts on this board to learn that this post is certainly not unique in its complaints? Have you, yourself, never experienced a frustrating situation like this?
I find it heartbreaking that there are people who are naively crumbling under the weight of such heavy-handed predatory practices. I applaud efforts to put an end to this greed.
By the way, if you'd like to post a "legit" (not "ligit") post that has a chance of being taken seriously in the future, I encourage you to read the board's advisory listed above and "Please check text spelling before submitting a comment." Try the grammar check while "you're" at it. It's "you're, " not "your, " in your post's context.
Also, not every situation is as crystal clear as you seem to think it is. I suspect from your (see?) vitriolic and narrow-minded statement that you're (see how I did that correctly?) an employee of BACS or AT&T and a mole on this board. Unless you have something constructive to offer, instead of sweeping generalizations, keep your (again, see how it's done?) comments to yourself.
Pay the bill. You owe it. You first said you told the agency you didn't owe it and then you said you wanted to settle the bill. Your full of crap playing cat and mice games. ATT and the agency are right, your wrong. Nothing in your complaint is ligit.
Sophie Fink
My 96 year old mother-in-law, who is recently deceased, has beed inundated with calls directed to her daughter. We have advised Bay Area Credit Service that Sophie Fink is deceased; but, they continue to call and they refuse to state the reason for the call. They have now requested a copy of the death certificate, which we believe is none of their business since they will not disclose the reason for the harassing calls. Sophie Fink was in a nursing home for the past year and actually has not made any purchases, that we know of, for the past six years. Bay Area Credit Service has been totally uncooperative in disclosing the alleged debt to her daughter who is the executor of and estate that does not even exist and there is absolutely no debt that she could have incurred. They claim the law does not allow them to disclose the alleged debt. It is our belief that this mis bot a fraud and a scam that the state of residence of this agency should close them down. What ca we do to get this kind of action.
Thanks, Joseph A. & Regina A. Klein (SIL & Daughter of Sophie Fink)
My mail box is filled with bills form this company several times a week for utility bills in California Texas and New Mexico. They have turned me into credit reporting companies. When I try to send them an email it says I have to set up an account with them. They do not check to find out if they are threatening the right person. And when you call them they rout your call to India. The people only want your checking account number so they can pull money out of your account. Is there any thing we as US citizens we can do about this?I am also sick and tired of the phone calls at all hours of the day and night, even at four am on Sunday.

Bill collection scam
We have been getting calls from this company about ambulance service for my son several years ago. We paid this bill several years ago. My insurance company took care of its portion of the bill, I paid the deductible, but there was a ambulance company "surcharge" of $400, that the insurance company deemed above "reasonable and customary." for this area. I informed the ambulance company of that. We informed the ambulance company in writing at the time. That was the last we heard of it. Out of the blue, we received a call from a man with an Indian accent who did not identify himself, but asked immediately for my son (and butchered the pronunciation of his name.) When I picked up the phone there was a long DELAY on the other end, so I know this is one of those computer-generated calls. The man on the other end identified himself as "Nick O'Brien" from Bay Area Credit Service.. He talked at length to my son and threatened that he had better pay the $400 or face bad credit. My 18 year old son told him to talk to me. This man has now called 3 times in the last 2 days. When I ask him for his information, he refuses to give me anything but his name and company... unless I give HIM more personal information. According to a "fraud tip" website, you should ask them for their address and have everything sent to you in writing. Then it is against the law for them to call you. He would not give his address. Then he would ask more personal questions. When I refuse, he hangs up. I am now going to call the Santa Clara county district attorney's office.

I have 4 calls from this number [protected] in my Google Voice inbox from 2/3/14, 2/7/14, 2/11/14, and 2/17/14, but there are no messages. They must be scammers, because my Google Voice number is not one I use anywhere, except that I have it published on my website as a support number. I did move to Seattle in mid-2012 so perhaps they are targeting me as a more local resident. But I have not done any business, only minimal banking, and I haven't opened any utility accounts during my time in this region. I have no outstanding debts related to this organization, but I do have one item (from 2010) still in collection by NCO Financial, and they have my personal cel number so don't need to call my Google Voice account.
I received a call today from the Bay Area Credit Services. An Indian accent speaking person attacked me verbally and accused me of being behind in my AT&T cell phone bill. When I advised him that I had not been with At&T in over 10 years, I reversed the roll and started attacking him and his company. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he gave me Jeff Nicholson who sounded exactly like the first person. I asked him several times how did they get my cell phone number, but he would not reply. He then asked me if I lived in Washington, I said no, he asked if my birthday was 08/14/64 I said no he then gave me two cell phone numbers [protected] (an Atlanta number and not a Washington phone number) and the other I do not remember and I told him both numbers were not mine. I really became angry at this point and let him have it. I finally hung up, but redialed the number [protected] and Danny Ray answered. This gentleman also had an Indian accent. I asked for his supervisor and he said that Jeff Nicholson was his supervisor. I told him that I had already spoke with Jeff and got nowhere. He then advised that Steven Jackson was also a supervisor. I asked to speak to Steven. When Steven got on the call, he too had an Indian accent. At this point, I lost it again. I asked them if they thought that I was stupid. I said you sound exactly like the last three guys I spoke with. I advised him that I was reporting them to the BBB and hung up.
I know a person who keeps getting letters say that they owe this company money...but never ever onpen an account in the Bay area befor...no3w they say taht he is now on collections...the account was opened on the 23rd of november...and the amount thats on collections is on november 14th...hmmmmmmmmm...i think this smells alil fishy... I think this business is a ### business...they aRE JUST TRYING TO TAKE MONEY FROM PEOPLE WHO DONT OWE ANY MONEY TO THEM BUT SAY THEY DO...
Unauthorized billing
I was contacted by mail saying that (my minor child) had an outstanding debt for a phone bill to SBC. It stated that he owed $1063.00. However, they would settle for $315.00. I knew this was a phony, (my son has never had a phone in his name, nor have I put a phone in his name), but I followed up on it.
I called them to get the scoop. Gave them the case # and the first thing they wanted to know was his SSN. No, I am not giving you that info over the phone. So they read me his last 4 digits. They were legit but I gave no further info. They told me I would have to write a legal statement stating that he is a minor child and he has never had a phone and it would be turned over to an investigator and send the bill with it.
Don't fall for for garbage like this and let idiots take you for a ride. Tomorrow, I am going to call AT&T to check things out with them. Then, I am calling them back. It won't be pretty.
Remember... It is best that a person be proper and intelligent, so that one may accomplish what one desires... rather than what someone else wants to abuse.

This is my own complaint, to AT&T who keep calling me for a bill that I did'nt make to them.
And I've told them over and over again that this never happened. I called the company for information
and they asked many questions of me, and finally gave me their price range and I could not afford their
amount., so I said thank You and goodbye. And I've been billed every since. Even after talking to them over the phone
about it, they still insist that I recieved their service's, and I did not.
Please help me with this problem. Or tell me what to do.

This "ambulance" scenario sounds familiar!
I was recently turned down for a credit card, and knew that I had excellent credit a year ago.
I applied for my credit report through Trans Union, and it came back with a "negative" report from Bay Area Credit Services for an outstanding bill of $1, 290 in collections. I knew nothing about this, so called Bay Area Credit and asked about it. The rep first asked for my ssn, and I would only give him the last 4 digits, which he then verified it to be me, then told me it was for an ambulance I had taken from my residence to Biloxi Medical Center in Oct. 2008. I have NEVER been in an ambulance and NEVER been in Biloxi! The guy told me to dispute it, I would have to fax the credit report, highlighting the area, fax my drivers license and a statement that I knew nothing about this. I was hesitant to send this info and decided to check them out online, and this is what I found! How does Trans Union not know about their reputation? It make me not trust anyone with my info.
my 70 year old mother was contacted by Bay Area Credit Services out of Atlanta and screamed at by Michael J Miller for a $1, 400 bill from 3 yrs ago! My mother had no idea what he was talking about when she tried to ask Mr Miller began calling her names including a liar. My mother then asked Mr Milller that if she owed this money why he waited so long to contact her. He then started screaming at her again telling her that she has talked to him on the phone and he has sent her collection letters and he wants this money or he's going to send her to jail! She told him she would go the local credit bureau to get this straightned out and he told her not to because he wants the 'credit" for the collection. When my mother called this company back to obtain infornmation they stated their "computers were down" I requested copies of these so called letters they sent and copies of the so called phone calls they made and as expected they refused. Mr Miller and Mr. Malcolm then attempted to obtain my mother's checking account # which we put a stop to.I looked up this company in The Better Business Bureau and they are not Accreditated with them. So here's my question. If someone owed $1, 400 to a credit card would a credit card company not contact you for payment for 3 years?
Trying to extort payment for ambulance ride
Approximately Nov. 2008 Bay Area Credit Services (BACS) contacted me by phone claiming that they had purchased an unpaid account concerning me (for an ambulance ride) from American Medical Response (AMR), an ambulance service company. Back on Oct. 6, 2004. Yes 2004, AMR picked me up at my home and dropped me off at one of the local hospitals, Inland...

I received a letter in the mail today, 2/14/09, from Bay Area Credit Services LLC, out of Atlanta, Ga., dated 2/5/09. This letter is stating that they are trying to collect on a debt on an account that I had with SBC, now known as AT&T. That this account was purchased by AFS-HOV and now assigned to Bay Area Credit Service for collection. In this letter they are claiming that I owe $719.35 but will settle for $215.81, if I pay by 2/25/09.
So, I called them, told them that I dont owe any such bill and have no idea what this is about. The girl on the phone was extremely rude, wouldnt listen to what I had to say, kept talking over me and interupting me. I asked to talk with a supervisor, she hung up on me. I called back, asked for a supervisor, was told there wasnt one available at this time that they were on the phone with another customer, I told her I would wait, was told that I couldnt do that, that they could help me instead. I gave her their acct #, proceeded to explain to her that this bill is not possible and that I wanted info on this account as well as a contact number for SBC. She told me she couldnt give me that info nor could she give me a phone number or contact info for SBC. She proceeded to tell me I had left my previous address owing a phone bill to Southwestern Bell for $719.35. Again when I tried to explain to her it wasnt possible to have had a phone bill that high with them at the time I lived at that address, all she would tell me was I had to pay the $215.81 settlement by the 25th of Feb. or it would go back to the $719.35 and start drawing interest on it or I would have to dispute this with the credit bureau and that if I didnt have enough proof then I would still have to pay the $719.35 plus interest.
Let me say this, I am 47 years old, I have lived in Ca., Tx., Tn., Ar., and now Florida..at no time in my life have I ever had a phone bill amounting to this much money, ever! Let me also say, that at the time I lived at the address they are telling me this bill occured, I had a special phone package, called Complete Choice, which consisted of, free local calling and caller I.D., voice mail, call waiting, etc...I also had a long distance plan with them that was a flat rate of like $24.00 (?) per month, which gave me unlimited calling anywhere in the United States at anytime, day or night. So, my phone bill was never more than $70.00 a month. Now, to have had a bill get to over $700.00, I would have had not to pay it for over 10 months, no phone company would ever let you go 10 months, with service, and not pay it. So there is no way possible that this ever happened. Let me also say that, during the time I lived at the address in question, I went to work for the local cable company, 2yrs after starting there, they offered phone service thru the company to their employees. I stopped my services with SBC and went with Mediacom phone service and had it with them til I bought my house and moved to a new location. I was still employed with Mediacom but no longer in their service area, however, because I was an employee with them I could get a discounted rate with another cable company, Cox Cable, for their phone service, which I did and had up til about a year ago when I decided to go back to AT&T phone service. At that time, AT&T ran a credit check on me, found I had no outstanding bills with them and I got my phone service, who as of today, am still a customer.
Here is my problem, I cannot remember my old phone number from when I lived at the address they say the bill occured. Nor can I find my old phone bills, they are boxed up and in storage. How do I go about disputing this bill? I know in my heart and mind that this bill is totally false and if there was such a bill, why has it taken them over 4 years to try and collect on something they say I had back in 2005? I never, ever got anything from the phone company saying I owed them anything til today when I get this letter from a collection agency.

I recently received a call from BAC claiming that I have a medical bill for $88. I know it is not that much but I recently went to the hospital and had more than 3000 of bills to pay. I paid everything within the first two months but four months later BAC calls me with some BS claim that I was sent to collections. I called where the original "bill" was from and they said I had a bill for $70 but it was not sent to collections. BAC called me again and I answered, some dude who I could barely understand was incredibly rude to me. He said they billed me twice for this bills and that I cannot just ignore it, yet I was not. Either their billing person is an incompetent ### or this entire company should be burned in a fire. Probably both! Either way, I keep getting calls me these tools and I should probably check my credit report before they screw me over more.
We have the same experience with BAC . One year ago we wanted to cancel an employees cell phone after he was transfered to Argentina. We were convinced by the CS person at ATT not to cancel but rather reserve the number until the employees return. The cost would only be $10 per month. Nothing was said to us that the hold would be limited to six months. We agreed . Eight months later we received a bill for
$289.00. When we called we were told that amount was for two months full service because the six month period was up. We filed a dispute with ATT and have a case number. That did not stop ATT from handing the claim over to BAC.. They are rude and abrupt. They have no interest in hearing what the facts of the matter are. But this is typical behavior of most collection agencies. There is no presumption of innocence, to them the customer is always wrong and a deadbeat trying to screw their client.. We tried to communicate with BAC on their website. It does not function. It seems like BAC is a division of ATT as 95% of the complaint's I have seen originate with them
I received a bill notice from BAC on April 27, 2011 in the amount of $632.44 for an AT&T bill. I was worried about it until I found this web site and all of the complaints. BAC even has my AT&T account number. I even tried going to their web site and tried to may a payment before I found the numerous complaints about BAC. You can't even make any type of payment on their web site. I'm not going to worry about paying this messed up Credit Company. The only thing I am worried about if taking this stupid mark off of my credit report. I can still make payments to AT&T on their web site too. I think I will keep doing that until I cannot. At that time I will need to call. Just to be clear, the only reason that I am not able to pay the full bill due is because I was laid off from my job. I have every intention to pay my bill with AT&T as soon as I am able, promise. I am so glad that I found this web site with these complaints.
Hi all, well my experiences with BAC are a little different, but somewhat similar. I have a letter stating that I owe over $1000.00 to ATT. Let me give you a brief summary of what occured, I was on an ATT family plan with 3 lines for about 2 and a half years. The plan was around 170 dollars a month. Going into the middle of the year, I found out that the company I worked for offered the same plan for only 85 dollars a month. I called ATT and told them that I wanted to cancel my contract...I was told there would be no early termination fee because it had been 2 years and that I would only owe 85 dollars because I ended the service before the full month was up. So when I got the email stating that my bill was due, I paid it in my usual way by debit card (btw a great way to keep up with payments). After about 6 months I received an email stating that my account was past due and had been turned over to collections and I would receive a call from the agency (BAC). I contacted ATT for two weeks straight and was told it is out of their hands and I would have to speak to the agency. The next morning I called and spoke to a representative. I was told that I could set up payments using a bank account, routing number, and payments of $50 a month. All this was explained to me before I gave them my name, phone number, account number, or any information regarding who I was. I was also placed on hold for an extremely long amount of time and then when the guy came back there was wind and car horns honking in the background...lol. He then asked for my dob and social. I asked to speak to his supervisor and was told that and I quote, "I'm sorry but I'm the only one here today." I asked you work for a company and you are the only person at work, no one else is there? I explained that I didn't owe the debt and would appreciate the company removing my phone number and mailing address from their database. He replied with I could either pay or go to jail. I replied make sure I get a cell with a view...lol.
I got a couple more letters and dozens of phone calls...after about a month and a half of keeping up with this information, I took it all to the police department and filed a claim. Come to find out there was an entire list with about 15 other names on it with the same problem. After a week, the phone calls stopped as well as the mail. I called ATT and was told they have no recollection of the debt or the incident...then tried to sell me another plan, yeah right.
P.S.
Every now and again I call this representative from an unlisted number with the same agenda...I tell him he owes us 3500 dollars...since I have his name, phone number, and the address listed to his phone. It's quite hilarious...is it wrong maybe, but I feel justified.
Bay Area Credit called me and said I owed First premier bank for a credit card but they were collecting for Arrow who bought the debt. The caller said he had to have my social security number to verify the alleged debt.I refused and asked for their address several times but they said they had to have my social security number to verify.I hung up.I began documenting thier calls.I have $6000.oo dollars in fdcpa violations.I am sending off a tort letter tomarrow.I am asking for $150, 000 in punitive damages.$6000.00 in actual damages and $6000.00 in fdcpa violations.I expect to settle for $2000.00 and have the $500.00 alleged debt removed from my credit report.Thats $2500.00 gain and the credit report will be better too.Just for documenting phone calls from blood suckers not bad huh. I have a system if you need help fighting back contact me at lawyersforlunch@hotmail.com
I have never even contact this company and contact ATT directly. I disputed this through credit reporting agencies and had it removed. Just another scamming company that local, state or federal governments won't do anything about.
Wow! Virat has certainly maintained the same level of professionalism as the others I have spoken to at BACS!
I started receiving calls from them this week claiming that my husband owes a $600 Ambulance ride back in 2002! We never received a bill for this "ride" from the original creditor nor have we received anything prior to this from BACS. They claimed they had sent many letters but can produce no proof! It took 7 years for someone to contact us about an unpaid debt? What a joke!

Who hired their 7th grader to IM us with advice?
Well, this explains just about everything concerning BACS and the complaints about them on this board.
Clearly "aliant law grop" and BACS are hiring the top tier of Harvard law grads (and is VIRAT double-dipping? Or are the two entities who've hired him taking advantage? The world may never know.).
Sad sad sad.
Really, we should all heartily welcome and entrust this type of verbiage in any and all of our current and future legal documentation. And I imagine all intelligent employees these days refer to their clients and customers as "dude" and "freaks."
Can you imagine a signed, notarized afidavit with
"dude u guyz r ###
in it? Can you imagine going to court with this kind of representation? Personally, I don't think I will ever contact any entity with "xtreme" anything in its email address regarding collection, or any other, issues.
Note to VIRAT: Please STOP DRINKING THE BONG WATER. And please provide your real name, employee identification number, phone number and extension. Then we'll all be happy to contact you, because, as you promised: "will help u out".
We'll definitely take "u" up on it.

Extremly rude and condescending
I spoke with a supervisor/manager at the Atlanta call center today named Mr. Mitchell on [protected] ext. 5061 that was extremely disrespectful, condescending and blatantly called me a liar as I tried to understand what we need to do to dispute this claim.
On the first call, I explained to Mr. Mitchell our position with the account dispute and asked what can be done because we should not be responsible for paying this debt. Mr. Mitchell talked over me by telling me to pay the amount and there is nothing I can do but pay the amount owed. As I explained our position again, Mr. Mitchell told me that I was mixing up my story and then told me to have a nice day and hung up on me.
I called the Atlanta call center a second time to speak to another manager but Mr. Mitchell came on the telephone again. I said to him you were very rude to me as I was trying to obtain information and explain what had happened; Mr. Mitchell told me “Thank You”--- meaning thank you for acknowledging my rudeness. I said to Mr. Mitchell, I need to speak to your manager, but he proceeded to speak in a child-like manner saying “No, No you can’t speak to my manager”. Mr. Mitchell then told me that his manager does not speak to anyone and that he completes his own performance appraisals. I was really in shock by his behavior and I refused to continue the conversation. So I hung up to call the corporate office.
Mr. Mitchell should be trained on call center techniques, effective call management styles, the management values of Bay Area Credit and how to deal with callers. This is a prime example of the reasons why creditors have unfavorable reviews about them. I understand the main goal is to collect payment or make arrangements but employees and managers of Bay Area Credit are not to hang up on callers, call them derogatory names such as a liar, challenge my position with my fiancés’ family, and act in a condescending manner by making the caller less feel adequate.
If a manager or enforcement agency requested to listen to the recorded telephone conversations, if Mr. Mitchell did not erase them, they will hear the conversations on 12/9/2008.

Bay Area Credit service continues to call our home number at all hours of the day and night for an Alan someone that does not live at this number. I have asked them to stop calling. Tonight they called again and said that they were calling from India and the Supervisors name was "Steve Thomas" he admitted that it was not his real name. He hung up when pressed for futher information. I have been told that our number has been deleted from there data base however they continue to call. What action can I take against the company? This company first send several letters saying that my mother in law had a bill for $56.00 outstanding due to an ambulance ride she had. She told me that they were constanly calling and being rude with her about the bill, but she knew that she had not been in an ambulance at all. Finally I got a chance to speak with one of the reps. and he had the nerves to say that she had to pay and then I asked him to give me the date of the ride and the name of the ambulance company. He then needed to get her premission to talk to me. So to make a long story short, after he couldn't give me any information about the bill I told him we would mail the payment once I get the info. I requested from him and he was upset with me. He said he would send me the info. after I paid the bill. I told him to wait on it then cause he will never get it. I am so glad that I found this site. Something needs to be done so our seniors will not get scammed.
I received a phone call from this outfit this AM about me oweing them some money. I was not home so I called them back and received no answer.I have never heard of this company before and I DO NOT owe anyone any money!
American Medical Response was used in October 2009. AMR billed an insurance carrier that they had on file under my name which was from years ago. When insurance carrier denied claim, AMR sent this to Bay Area Credit without contacting me. Bay Area Credit contacted me and increased my bill for interest. When I tried to explain that I had insurance they only wanted payment to them. Bay Area Credit insisted that in the state of Connecticut you only have 90 days to submit a claim and that this bill would not be paid by my insurance and they insisted on me either giving them my credit card number or debit card number to pay the debt. This information they supplied was WRONG. I contacted my insurance carrier and in the state of Connecticut you have 12 months to submit a cliam. In the meantime, they reported this to the credit agencies. In trying to resolve this issue only ONCE did I speak with somone from the United States! All the people answering the phones are EXTREMELY RUDE and cannot understand or speak english well.
I am currently taking legal action aginst Bay Area Credit for misrepresenting, giving false information, and defamation of my credit.
I encourage others who are victims of Bay Area Credit to do the same. Free services are available in every state for these situations.

Fraud and scam
I fully agree that this "company" is a joke. They called my house 3 tmes in succession within 30 minutes. I informed them that I am well versed in the FDCPA ( Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) and that what they are doing is in direct violation. And the guy just kept on taking. I then informed him that I was recording the telephone coversation ( in Texa...
