Not the best
Thus far this app just GETS THE JOB DONE. I've only used it for 2 months and I'm scared to death it'll do to me as has happened with other users and it will fail to remind me of a bill. I have several credit cards and utilities all due on different dates, so I NEED an app to remind me of these. This was the 'most decent' one available on the App Store. The "bill reminder" I used off google play looked cheaply made, what with the colors and theme, but was EXTREMELY efficient! Consider adding a way to click on the payee website link directly through the app, it'll save so much time rather than digging in my bookmarks for my utilities payment site.
Needs some improvements
Overall it's ok. It's easy to use and navigate. It keeps freezing and the only way to fix that is to restart my phone. Also, there's a feature to input a full or partial payment, which is great. And if you do a partial payment, it automatically subtracts it from the total and carries left over amount to the next month. I don't like that because for credit cards, it doesn't take in account finance charges or late fees. Most bills you have (non credit cards) you just pay them in full. Also, if you make a partial payment, it shows that bill as incomplete, which can also lead to inaccuracies. Overall, it's a good basic app, just needs a few adjustments.
Keeps you in check
Buying my first house meant a lot more bills. Before I was able to keep tabs of my monthly bills by head, but couldn't anymore. Bills Monitor has allowed me to organize all of my bills to every extent. With the option to record what bill, the type, whether it's manual or automatic draft, which card it goes to, and more -- the customization is almost endless. Being notified via push notifications make this app more than I could ask for. Plus, the reports are icing on the cake.
If there is one thing I'd add, is an income option. We are able to monitor financial output, but not input. For people who work multiple jobs, being able to document those pay days would be phenomenal.
Love it, but would like to see
Love this app. I have been trying to get more organized and this app is just the thing. I really love that I can email the reports to myself, great to get a "paper" look at how well everything is being paid! (or not, if that's the case) would like to see...option for bill to be in unpaid bills if only partial payment has been made. Would like Option for balance on credit card AND minimum payment due. (right now I put it in the notes section of bill). I would also like to see some simple budgeting help, being able to input your pay and checking balances would be great too! There is a lot of potential for this to be one of the best bill reminder apps ever.. Keep the updates coming!
Amazing!
I work for a bank and recommend this app to all of my clients. I'm tired of seeing people have automatic payments and have companies take money more than once! It causes overdraft charges and a negative experience for people. This app reminds me to BE IN CHARGE of my finances. I log in to my credit card company websites and MANUALLY pay them, or call it it to pay. This is the only way I've been able to pay on time without being screwed by over charges. This app reminds me to PAY and I can check off when it's been paid. I realize convenience is a means of companies to take advantage of us. Time to go back and take care of ourselves and our own money. Thank you guys for this amazing app!
A good app that gets the job done
So my previous app has stopped getting support so I bought this one. Over all it is good but there are some improvements needed. The first is that there's no way to have a bill be marked as paid with a $0 amount. In real life there are bills with either a zero balance or a credit balance so this is a bit of an annoyance. The other thing is the mandatory end date. There are many bills without an end date so this is truly bizarre to mandate this. I hope the developers pay attention to these reviews as I'm far from the only one complaining about these issues.
Update: October
The app is pestering for me for a review so here it is. Still the same issues as last time which after this long are incredibly disappointing.
It’s ok
I like the app and despite my 2 star review, I’ll continue to use it. I’ll change the star rating if changes are made
1. I occasionally pay bills ahead of time. Because of that, I have to search for my bill on upcoming bills which is fine. Even if I pay it, it shows up in my bills again when it’s within the pre-set notification window. So, I have to close the bill again.
2. This one bugs me the most but it may not for you. The app does NOT automatically add the bills coming due on to your icon badge. It’s the little red number that indicates your bills coming due. You have to open the app for the badge to update. So unless you check the app all of the time, the warning is useless. I want the app to be able to refresh itself in the background.
Great App / But
Update: 9/28
•Please update app due to app will not show upcoming bill that is due unless you open app. Once a bill has it date when it’s due it should update to show on app that you have a upcoming bill due. Easy Fix.
This is a awesome app, keeps up with my bills and has graph chart to see were my money is going. I would have given a 5 Star but the only issue I have is that the app won’t show upcoming bills unless you open app, then it will show 1 or more bills coming due this can easily be fixed with an software update to show what bill is next coming due after its set-up. Example: I look at app on phone it shows no bill due but after I open it up and closes it then it will show 1 or more bills due on front of the app logo. Other than that it’s an awesome app!
Love this app!
Bills Monitor is super simple and easy to use. I love having the reminder for when bills are due.
Suggestions:
Entering paychecks and individual charges would be great (to REALLY see where your money goes)
Also would be great to have bills with no end date. Just repeated every month or every week.
If it wasn't too much a calculator to estimate how long it would take you to pay off a bill would be helpful (for long standing bills like school loan or mortgage when you don't really know your estimated payoff date).
I realize this app is just to remind you when your bills are due but having the calendar and graph to show where your money goes are excellent features that made me wind up buying it.
And you enter your accounts (checking through Bank of America, savings through Chase, whatever accts you pay bills from) - but you do NOT have to enter any of your actual personal information! No account numbers or routing numbers required.
Honestly best app!
So I have been looking for an app to take an instant glance at my bills. This does that and more!
It countdowns to the day of your Bill, it adds all of tour monthly bills to sum up a total of the balance you need to pay; if you paid a balance it deducts it for you and gives you the remaining.
It’s good for bills, loans, small civil loans etcetera!
Worth more than $1, but I’m glad it’s just $1.
You get more than what you pay for so definitely check out this app! There’s also a free version but it has ads, I got the full version after awhile so I’m not disturbed when making my own calculations and focused on scheduling my payments/bills.
seriously worth the $1.
UPDATE!
Got the updated version
Dude I can’t believe this was just $1!
The new update is WAY more enchanted but still simple!
Love the no clutter I LOVE the graphs and charts it gives weekly, monthly, yearly, categorized account and category summary.
MY GOSH! Best finance app EVER, I don’t use ANY other app, this is the best! Must have!
Year later and still missing key features
I have used this app for a few years now and even after many reviews and emails to customer support, there are still so many illogical flaws with the app. It seems like the developers could care less about actually making an app that works well and is functional. Here are the flaws:
- can't sync between iPad or other devices seamlessly. This is antiquated at this point as everything can sync through the cloud.
- don't have the ability to add bills that fluctuate monthly, like credit cards or utilities. It makes you put in an exact figure and if you pay less the next month, it says you "underpaid" and won't mark the bill as paid
- it automatically lists paid bills by the date they were due instead of the date you actually pay them. So this means if you are trying to check your account to see if a payment cleared, this app won't help you remember the last few bills you paid because it messes up the order
- the "history" feature is an utter joke. It's not detailed at all and won't let you see an itemized breakdown of a specific bill, when and what you paid, etc. For example, if I want to view my last 12 months of electric bills to see what I paid, you can't do it with this app. It only gives these childlike charts instead.
- it has a section for "notes" when you pay a bill but the section is useless. I used to add the payment confirmation # to the note section every time I paid a bill. However, the app doesn't "Save" the note section so it's essentially of no use. What's the point?!
- the app doesn't add up how much you paid in bills for the month or how much you still owe. It just keeps listing the total of all bills (paid and unpaid) for the month.
All in all, the app will help you see all of your bills but if you want anything logical or user friendly, this is not the app for you. It's too basic and when I emailed them, they clearly weren't interested in making the app better. There are better apps out there without the bells and whistles, but at least they have some logical functionality to them!
It works for me, although I’m sure I am not using it correctly
I am sure there are allot of things that either I’m not doing the right way or features that are there that I am not utilizing, but it does exactly what I need it to do for how I use it. Maybe I should point out here real quick that “I” (that’s me) am a [censored] when it comes to money and spending it. Well, there are a couple other ways too, but let’s just focus on the “money” one for now, ok. And without going into all of the details about why I think I’m a dummy, let’s just say that I have ALLOT of different bills that I pay every month and we’ll just leave it at that, ok.. what? I don’t know! Like 20-ish. But I don’t have allot of money though! I would consider myself in the lower end of middle class. So 20 is stupid, ok! Well I entered all of my bills in this app and just put some bogus bank account name in the account part (because hell no I’m not paying my bills through this app), and whenever I pay a bill every month I hit the “pay” button and move on. It will help me keep track of what bills I’ve paid and haven’t paid every month so my [censored] doesn’t forget one again. Yeah again! So! It just happened one time, ok! But anyway, it also does all the math at the bottom showing how much money that you’ve already paid and how much money is needed for the bills that you haven’t paid yet. I bypassed the notification part that reminds you when your bills are due because I don’t really need that, but that’s a cool thing too I guess. Oh! The graphs! I like the graphs that it makes for you too! Breaks down where all your money goes and puts it all in a cool pie chart! I figured out after a while how to keep track of my “stupid spending” too so I can see that in the pie chart too! Pretty cool! You’d think it would help me spend less, but it don’t.. Hey! Everyone ends up the same way in life, and when it’s my turn, I don’t want to know that I still had money that I could’ve spent! It’s not given to me, I worked for it! So I can do whatever the he! I want with it! Like on “pew pews”, and “music”, and “stereo equipment”, and stupid little cool gadgets, and other vices... and... I really like and use this app ALLOT! Other than that stupid “Ballz” game, I’d say it’s the most used app I have. Now you’ll have to excuse me,, I have some ballz I need to play with.
Best Bill Tracking App I’ve used (Update 5/28/22)
Update - May 2022*** This app continues to be a staple of my my bill tracking needs. One suggestion I have for the developer is to add the ability under “end repeat” to select “never”. Currently, if you have bills like a Power bill or Water bill, you have to select a date to end the repeat (ie. End date - May 28, 2090). Some bills ALWAYS repeat and never end, so that function would be extremely helpful.
Update - August *** This app continues to be my go-to for Bill tracking. The layout is beautiful, and the functionality is reliable and consistent. I strongly recommend purchasing it, if you’re looking for a great app to manage your bills. ————————————————————
Months ago I was searching through various apps in the App Store and came across Bill Monitor. The app is beautifully designed and very easy to setup and use. I am a fan of the color scheme they’ve implemented; it is a slate / dark grey color. The function of adding or editing bill categories is extremely easy and useful. There are several icons to choose from there also. The Calendar function is great! It shows up in the same style as the Apple Calendar, only better in my opinion due to the color scheme. The dark grey is beautiful and each date has a green circle for dates that bills have already been paid, and red circles around the dates that bills are still outstanding. There is also a list of the bills due that shows below the calendar dates, in the same fashion as the Apple Calendar. On thing that can be a little annoying is the Bill Reminder function that pops up each and every time you exit the app or leave the app to go into another app that you have open on your phone. In theory, it’s a great idea so you don’t forget to pay those bills. Another function to be aware of is in each bill there is a function tab “Auto Pay”. If you enable this tab, the app will NOT remind you to pay the bill or that the bill is due to be paid. If you keep a balanced checkbook and you have bills that are on auto-pay, this may cause you to forget to add the bill to you register. I don’t know what the true purpose of this button is, but I personally just leave it unchecked / off. There was an issue prior to the newest update, where each bill only showed how many days were left until the bill was due, instead of the actual date the bill was due. I emailed the developer and they listened and added the date to each created bill, along with how many days until due. That was awesome! Anytime a developer actually cares enough about their product to listen to their users and then implements needed changes in a timely fashion, it is worth a shout out and recognition, so thank you! I plan to email them again about the final issue I will remark about. When you create a bill, you have the option to have the bill repeat, which is a standard feature. However, if you do have a repeating bill that is a continual bill, you have to enter an end date, which isn’t possible in some cases. To keep my recurring bills constant, I usually put an end date out 30 years or more. I think it would be useful to have the option to just having continual recurring bills with no end date. Yes, some bills do have a designated date to end, but bills like utilities do not. It’s not a negative problem, but worth mentioning. I plan to email the developer at the end of this review, and I will complete a supplement review in the future. Overall, this is a 5-Star app. It is worth paying for and a Must-Have if you need a reliable app to keep track of your monthly bills. I have NEVER had the app crash on me and as I mentioned before, the developer listens.
Bills Monitor Pro Complaints 18
Great app but
This is a great app but I have problems with the app notifying me when my bills are due. For instance I did not receive any reminders all last weekend until I opened the app. Then I saw that 2 bills were late. I went on the app because I knew I should have had before the 15th.
Do not buy
WORST BILL REMINDER APP EVER! I have literally missed 3 bills that I had to pay (had to pay late fees) because the notifications weren't going through (everything was enabled on my phone and the app)
Get Mint Bills app it's free and will harass you with the reminders to pay (which for bill payment is a great thing)
Bill app
I was looking forward to this app to help people with ADD/AHAD. But the last few days I have been locked out of the App, didn't know why? No way to get to my information! Solution cleared all Apps that hadn't been closed, it started working. Going to try to use again before a recommend it to friends with ADHD/ADD.

Great app until need to restore backup
I had to exchange my iPhone for new one. Did not restore backup from cloud . Followed instructions in app setting for restore that took much of my time with no results. Apps can be terrific but if you lose your data with the change of phone, it literally ends up wasting all the time over a year data was entered. Do not buy.
Bad review!
This app did work great, I had my entire financial life on this app it was perfect. Until the update failed to download, I had to reinstall and lost ever single bit of information I ever put on there. I am furious and I've lost some extremely important information! I do not trust this app anymore and I would advise NOT downloading
Stopped working in 15 minutes!
I purchased this app in hopes of having a good way to keep up with monthly bills. WRONG! The app got stuck on the password screen with no keyboard. I restarted the phone them it came up. Now , every time I go to my bills it sends me back to my home screen. A couple of other users had the same problems. BE CAREFUL with this app...it may not work for you.
Paid for Pro and now they want a subscription?!?
Alright, I did like this app. It does what I need it to simply, so I don’t want to switch to something else, but after paying for the Pro version in the past, I refuse to adopt their newer subscription model that they realized could be making them more money. Everyone that purchase pro should be grandfathered into it for good. This is typical nonsense from a selfish developer.
Issues
There are various things with this app that take place. Most of the problems I have sent my concerns to the developer with no corrections ever made. I believe the developer is from a European country and does not understand or comprehend things well enough to know how to correct the issues that take place with this app in America. Instead of explaining the issue I’ll just say if you live in the USA don’t use the app!
Good idea. But
I would have given five stars, but as I've had it a couple months I've noticed two
major flaws. First, if I ignore the reminder,(I set it two weeks ahead) after a couple of days the bill is automatically moved to the paid section, which defeats the purpose. Second, if the amount paid is different than what the bills regular amount is, it records the regular amount in the 'paid' section. Needless to say I'm going to keep looking...
Why is Bills List same as Calendar
Bills should open up all the different bills without the need to having their schedule attached. They should be having unique names. Take the case of Credit Cards. Each credit card will be a bill. A credit card that is not used will not appear in the calendar.
Another suggestion is a big one. I want the ability to actually log in to my accounts and billers websites from here and the app should automatically get the due dates and amount.
No longer work with 2018 iPad Pro 11” and 12.9”
When the app is opened in either 2018 iPad Pro 11” and 12.9”, the app just crashed.
Interestingly, when I restore from 2017 iPad Pro 10.5” to 2018 iPad Pro 11”, the App Store show that the app is no longer available and there is a “new version”. When I downloaded the new version, the app opens but the app size is shrink - it’s as if you downloaded the iPhone version, even though I have made sure I downloaded the iPad version.
So the app is no longer usable.
Not too good
I setup all my bills and used this app for about a year. With the setup complete, using the app to input dollar amounts for every bill every month is where the app failed me. The part that should be the easiest required too much of my time to make it work for me. I gave up with inputting dollar amounts for the bills and used the app for the reminders and to keep track of unpaid bills. I tried another app that doesn't take so much of my time to use and gave up with this one.
Neat app. but
Easy app to add bills but there is no option to carry over bills for the following month.. it would be nice if they added an option to remind you to pay the bill again in a month, such as utilities or rent, but there are only options to carry over or note auto-payments.. you have to input this data all the time over and over for each month. There's also no budget option to show you how much money you have left after a bill has been paid or not, which would come in handy, indefinitely.
Not the right tool for me
Adding basic account info in the app is self explanatory, I got that, but this app requires details be included for account setup that aren't self-explanatory. As a paying customer for this app please don't offer a Help section if you are only going to explain some and not all of the nuances of the App. It only explained the painfully obvious features, but not the ones I was looking for. Did not offer me any help in bill pay organization and I will look for another app until I find one that does.
Average at best?
Visually, the app is nice.
However, there are many problems with this app for people serious about keeping track of bills.
1) no way to enter / track estimated payments, like utilities that change monthly. Makes for poor tracking after bill is paid.
2) must set end date for bills. What if there isn't one? I always want to pay my insurance every month. Why should I set an end date?
Really wanted to use the app because it looks nice... But needs a lot of work before it can be considered a real bill tracking app. I will stick with BillMinder for now.
Fine when it worked, terrible support
I used this app for several months and would have given it a B- when it was working. Unfortunately, it started crashing. None of the usual remedies helped. I reached out to the developers and got vague suggestions that were difficult to understand. It was almost like they were being sent by someone who doesn't speak English or something. Several emails and a dropped ball later, I deleted it for good and went with a different app. This was no small task, as I had been all in and very dependent on this app. Lots of rebuilding had to be done. Very frustrated.
My problem
I like this app except for all the ads. You fill out for a bill you get an ad. That is for every bill you put in. So I though I would pay for the app. It would not let me choose to pay for a month or a year. So I paid for a month and was going to upgrade to a year but it will not let me and I still get all the ads. If they took off all the ads it would be worth the $9.99 per year if you can even get to choose monthly or yearly. I’m going to try it for a while. If it don’t let me pay for a year after my month is up I’m going to delete it, even though I like the app in general.
Useless because it does not use push notification
I contacted technical support and told them that the badge notification does not appear in less I open, and then close the app, in which case then the notification will appear. The response I got was "ask the notification we use is local notification not push notification, only when you open then this app and quit, it can fresh to the latest number"
Obviously broken English but the point is without using push notification and Ashley notifying you want to build is due, you will never know unless you open the app every single day. To me that is useless and I do not see how this app got any positive reviews.
