My husband and I were ALMOST scammed by Bluegreen resorts. We paid 20.00 (refundable) after we listened to their PROMISED 90-minute presentation on the company (SCAM). However, my husband and I ended up there 5 and a half hours. Needless to say we signed up for their sampler plan after not being able to afford the highly priced 25,000 plan they offered first... then, 13,000 plan... that was over our budget the next plan was 5,000 which was still too high... then them FINALLY offering us the sampler plan that was 1,000 more in our price range.

We sat down to sign the paperwork that basically finalized this scam. The woman explained the details that were completely (omitted) from the conversation with the sales rep. We quickly found out when speaking with this woman who was finalizing our plan that this one-year plan (sampler) was ACTUALLY only active for 10 months because you cannot book vacations for the first 40-60 days because it takes that long to get you in the system. Then we find out all holidays and June, July & August are out as well. People on the sampler plan cannot book during these dates. So in all reality there is only a small limited time (if any) that we would be able to use these points. The topping on the cake of this story was while going through these MAJOR details left out by the sales rep. my husband asks to talk to the sales manager. The manager tells him he can help us during those times we want to go in August. He then looks over the divider and makes sure no one else is in the room and says "I'm not suppose to do this but here is my cell phone number. Call me in 3 days and we will work out the details on dates etc. Well... we left signing up for this plan. As soon as we got out of there we instantly called and told Bluegreen we changed our mind. We looked over the paperwork and saw that we had EXACTLY 3 days to write a letter to the headquarters in Florida to CANCEL THE CONTRACT. The interesting thing here is that the manager said to wait 3 days so conveniently so that it would be TOO LATE to cancel. I'm glad we read the fine print and took action. Today, 2 weeks later Bluegreen credited our account the money they took 2 weeks ago. I hope this helps you if you read this in time.

Paul & Heather.

My husband and I signed up for a 90 min presentation. We saw it at six flags in dallas. Bluegreen gave us a one night stay at the holiday inn in Hershey, PA. We called before checkin time and asked bluegreen if they could put us up at the Sheraton across the street. They did immediately. The hotel was amazing. We even received a $50 gift certificate card which we used for gas. Presentation time: We were very scared about signing up into something that we were clueless about so we declined.. I must admit that the salespeople were angels when they were trying to sell but became complete demons when we tried to walk away. The jerk of a salesman wouldn't even shake our hands when we declined the timeshare. His manager came and tried to convince us too. They were very, very rude and were even speaking negatively to us. I told him that I work in the law field and would have to check into it first with some of my lawyers. Anyway, we ended up with the sampler package of 9, 000 points and they deducted $83. a month from us. After reading all of these horror stories, I was really nervous about booking. I booked a month in advance to Ormond Beach, FL...it's next to Daytona Beach. We weren't charged anything extra upon arrival or departure. The room was more than amazing...beachfront room. My children were in awe. The pool was outside and sparkling clean along with the hottub. The showers were hot and the place was extremely clean. I spent 4850 points for a 4 night 3 day stay in the red season. Like I said, I was able to get in easy with a one month reservation. I had previously made reservations to other places and got booked with two weeks notice but cancelled at the last minute. No problems there at all. I now have 4000 extra points to use which expire today because I only had one yr to use them with the sampler package. If I would have used all points, I would have received a one wk stay at Ormond beach in a busy season. The hotel looked like a $200 room so I would have spent $1400 so I saved $500. NOT BAD!...During a low season, I would have two weeks time based on $2800 for room, I would have saved $1900. NICE! We plan on buying off an individual where we only have to pay dues and maintanence fees. Thats where it's all worth it. Oh one more thing...we checked into two other timeshares, the one that disney world has and one in daytona beach. Disney's was $7000 more with limited places and The bluegreen competitor (can't remember name) was $35, 000 for Bluegreens same $10, 000 package. (same point system) So check around. I think I'll be happy with Bluegreen.

I am packing my bags as I read this. I have been a mortgage broker (not with a company like bluegreen) for a number of years and can understand how the paperwork can be confusing, but I also see alot of people trying to get something for nothing. We bought the sampler package and rolled it into a full package with 10, 000 points. I have 6 kids and a hubby in the military and this works great for us. We have used weekends and full week vacations. we just booked a week in Orlando in peak season for 8 people three weeks out. No trouble! I love bluegreen. Read all the fine print and understand the system. The problem is people do not know what they are getting into then get scared by reading accounts on the internet of more people that dont know what they just signed and everyone is trying to get out of a legally binding contract. Do your homework ahead or have a spine and say no when you mean no. No one forced you to sign. No one held you hostage. Yah, they push, they are sales people, thats their job! Grow up and grow a back bone if it is not what you want.

Me, I love my bluegreen resort package!

Just an update...went to fl stayed for a week in red season. As I said we had made last minute reservations for a room for 8. The room was a 2 bedroom suite with a living room, kitchen, dining room and two bathrooms. We had a whirlpool tub in the master bedroom and a balcony. The pool was great as were the the staff. Only problem we had was our washing machine (in our room...really great when you have 6 kids) blew up. They replaced it with no issues. We were 10 minutes from disney and had a wonderful time!

We are now trying to decide where to go for Christmas.

I have been an owner with Blue Green for 3 years. I have had not trouble with the program. I think it is funny to read all the ignorant comments on this page. You obviously do not understand rent vs own and probably do not even own your own home. You are talking about money you were going to spend anyway and now you are going to put Paris Hilton on another show. Next time you are in front of a T.V. talking about how much you hate Paris remember you made her.

My husband and I decided to try the sampler plan like it appears most have. I was very excited because we do like to travel and were kind of disappointed we could not use our points in the summer months but have found that Bluegreen has sent emails allowing summer bookings at certain resorts that must be having trouble with summer bookings. I expected the price to be high for this type of vacation club but didn't expect the terrible service we received when I tried to book our 2 night stay with the resort we signed with. After leaving 4 messages for a return call, we finally received a call back only to hear we did not contact them in time to reserve an actual Bluegreen resort and could be accomodated at a like hotel within 3 miles from the beach. The gentleman I spoke with would not answer my questions only wanted me to schedule our 90 minute followup. Needless to say, we will not use the 2 night vacation if we cannot use it when we want to and I think it is ridiculous that sampler members are not able to view the full website to see how many points are needed for certain resorts in the full program and what specials they have like we were shown in the presentation. The sales person we had was very nice and did not seem concerned one way or the other to sell or not sell. That made it more relaxing for us. the person we have been in contact with via email for the possibility of continuing our membership has been more than accomodating. I just hope we have not lost the money we have paid thus far because we cannot book the 9000 points.

sashabell,

arm yourself with a bunch of dates that you can travel and the resorts that you would like to vist (remember that certain peak dates and certain resorts are not open to sampler members) and phone the reservation line explain that you are sampler members and can they check what is available for the dates you want to travel.
As with all customer service you get some helpfull and some unhelpfull... if you get an unhelpfull person then just say thank you put the phone down and dial again.

As with any kind of club untill you are a full member you cannot access all the site.

So my wife and i purchased a cheap honeymoon vacation (Orlando) w/the catch of having to attend one of these 90 min presentatons. We were really dreading the sales pitch, especially after reading this site. But it wasn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The sales people were really friendly and never got ignorant w/me when I said no.tIt was even a little entertaining w/a comedy bit they put together. The salesman did no high pressure tactics, he tried to sell me and then brought his manager over to try and sell to which I still said no. So I am very happy I purchased the vacation bc the resort rooms were MAGNIFICENT! A screened in area overlooking a 75, 000 sq ft pool. Flat screen tvs. I definately would recommed purchasing the trip for your free gift, and lots of fun. Just relax about the sales bit and say politefully no. You don't vacation often and you don't was to purchase anythng. Tell them straight up your not buying.

We too got taken. My husband and I had horrible previous marriages. We took this because we thought each year we could treat ourselves to a deserving vacation. He is a corrections officer and I work with at risk children. I cry every time I see a payment go out and no vacation or way out! We were almost out the door and then they bring in the charming, I've been every where, with my photo album in hand, let me share my memories, and oh by the way my husband had cancer and our last trip was... and I’m sad to say he died 3 years ago person. I am so disappointed in myself. We never get to go on vacations because either it’s not available or the resort that we want doesn’t belong to them and we have to pay extra out of pocket money to use it plus our points. We have tried to lock in a couple trips and sorry, no can do, not available and it doesn't belong to us. I asked about their rental policy at the time of purchasing if we don't use the vacation and they said they will assist in the rental of the timeshare, and the list of deceit goes on. It was my understanding that each year we pay our maintenance fee we were to get 500 points. We still have 10, 000. I have paid over 2 years on timeshare and paid the "Maintenance fee" etc and still owe $8, 000. We started at $9, 000. The interest rate is 15%. No one wants to refinance it; BlueGreen won't recommend anyone for refinancing, how convenient. I’m so frustrated. I want our money back and that doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. I want to just give it back; they can keep the money, and chalkthis up as an expense college course, and just walk away from the stress and frustration. I won’t just not pay it because I don’t want it to mess up my credit. I’m afraid if I don’t pay the maintenance fee it will affect my credit. This has been such a stressful mistake! Is there a class action suite that we can join? My husband feels really bad because he really wanted this for the both of us so that we could take those “Free” vacations. Is there anyone who can give us some good advice? Our timeshare is in Gatlinburg, TN.
My email is Dspence39@woh.rr.com.

Advice Please!

My wife and I purchased from Bluegreen several years ago and our experience was overwhelming. After 45 days we booked in Ocean Crest Villa in Myrtle Beach, this resort was not supposed to be used by sampler buyers but we just lucked out and got a wonderful booking agent. When we checked in we recieved a call from Bluegreen and ask if we would attend a 30 min meeting for exchange of 100.00 cash. During the meeting we where told by the Bluegreen Rep. that someone messed our contract up and gave us a deal that we should not have gotten, however the paperwork was signed and sealed. The Rep. offered us almost double of what we paid just to get the contract back, and of course we refused. We had a seven day vacation we will never forget, and also stayed 3 times at Pigeon Forge during the first year. In the 2nd year of ownership I had some serious medical problems and let the contract go back without any repercussion from Bluegreen, they where very understanding. Maybe because they needed the contract back, but we were just a lucky family. I do know people that has had these same negative problems with Bluegreen and i would not dare say they are not true. I can tell you that we looked into buying at Westgate and people they tried to take money from our account without any legal or moral right to do so, I contacted the N.C attorney general's office and my problem was resolved quickly. I cannot honestly recommend any company, however we are getting ready to buy back into Bluegreen, I just hope we are as luckly this second time around.

After reading most of the posting I feel my wife and I are lucky we did not sign anything we just took the 50 dollar gift card after it was all over. The sales man we had was samuel padilla he talked about his time in the navy and his wife was killed by a carjacker. He dropped a piece of paper I picked it up and it was his commission report, for july 3194.75, aug 5630.00, sept 6196.00, oct. 2267, nov. 1812.00 dec. 547.00.

Looks like he can make alot of money selling this Bluegreen Resort. This how they can sleep at night they just think of all the money they can make. And I dont see any tax information on the piece of paper. They must cheat the goverment of taxes as well.

My wife and I were sucked into the Bluegreen resort club. Luckily we took a fairly small package. Everything sounded good, especially when you're there almost ALL DAY! I think I would have bought beach sand to take to the beach if I had to. We were tired the little one was getting cranky and I just wanted to finally get over with it. We bought in for 8, 889.49 at 16.99% interest in which at the end would end up being 19, 843.31. The points we obtained were 8000 every two years in which barely covers a week in the nicer resorts. Then they are teamed up with RCI which lists affiliated resort and has much more locations but you need to pay for this night with these just like you would a hotel. So if you do the math at roughly 9, 000 X2 since this is every two years that's 18, 000. Then since there are 52 weeks in a year that comes out to 93, 600.00 for each hotel style room they successfully sell. This is also the principal loan not to mention the joke of a 16.99% loan and interest. I wish I read the posts before getting into this program as there is also an additionl yearly dues that go on beyond the initial buy in to last forever.

I would like to start off first by saying that I AM NOT a plant from Bluegreen. I am indeed an employee, I actually just started working for them as a sales rep. last week. I have had three days out on the sales floor. One thing I would like to say, I cannot speak for every office out there but the one I work for... well we are sales people, we make a living selling things, but under NO circumstances do we force anybody to do anything. The reasoning behind presenting more than one package is simply to help you out, most of the time people say "no that is to much money" so we present a cheaper package. I also agree with the ones saying READ WHAT YOU SIGN! Damn, I mean do you buy a car without finding out what your financing charges do you? Before I get into details on any thing I would like to first say, I notice a lot of these comments are old, don't know if they did in the past but in the defense of Bluegreen, I have been in training for 7 days. They have not trained me to "pick" your brain and sway you into buying something. As a matter of fact only about a day and a half was actually sales training ( getting the money/closing the deal ) just about the entire training was about Bluegreen and what they have to offer. All the bad and the good. Its not perfect people but nothing is. The majority of the people on here are talking about the money, well think about it, we are talking about a lifetime of paid accommodations here. A lifetime people! I mean yeah you still have to pay for air fair or gas money but hell you don't have to pay for that whole in the wall hotel.

Every Bluegreen resort is a 5 star crown resort. Very nice, very maintained. This gives regular people like me ( not yet an owner just an employee but soon to buy in ) to go on them dream vacations that only millionaires get to go on. For around ( not exact ) 30k I can get a lifetime of accommodations for me and my family. That would give me about 30 to 45 days of vacationing for how I would use it. This program is not for everyone and we tell you that. We custom fit a package to you, we make your dream vacations come true. And yeah duh, if you want to get into Big Cedar on 4th of July you have to call way before a week in advance to get in, just like any other resort or hotel out there. I don't know where or what offices these folks are visiting but maybe you should not judge a company by a ignert ### sales rep you may have had, that is what they feed there kids with, that is what they make a living doing, sometimes it can be rough sometimes it can be great but don't dog the company for it, if you have a problem with a sales rep you write the CEO of Bluegreen and I will promise you that sales rep will hear about it and be punished for it. I've seen it happen with my own eyes so don't try to argue the fact. Plain and simple people, we are here to show you how to spend the same amount of money you are going to spend anyways on vacationing and get a hell of a lot more out of it. If you don't vacation then maybe you should because life is short and some day you will wish you did. If you can't afford it then just go check it out we may have something that fits your financial needs.

Sincerely,

A very pleased Bluegreen employee

My husband and I are schedued to attend a 3-day 2-night presentation in Branson, MO with Bluegreen in May this year and after reading some of these comments am not sure if we should take this trip - we've spent $99 and it sounds like we may be better off loosing the $99 than getting ourselves involved in a mess of a scam.

Me and my wife just got back from Pigeon Forge Tenn. We had a great 4day three night vac. on bluegreen, all it cost me was was the 90 to 120 min pres. (plus everywhere me and my wife went and had a blast.) I told our sales rep there was two problems with him making the BIG sale today.
1. Silver package way too much for our budget
2. I absolutly would not buy anything like this on spare of the momment with out trying to research it first.
This is what we came up with...
He offered me the 7000 points everyother year for $10, 000(about $130 month for 10 years) with the first time only offers. Sounded great just one problem. #2
This is how we fixed #2 problem.
We froze this offer of 7000 points and the first time only gifts with the sampler pack. We now have 1 year from the time of purchase excluding JUNE, July, Augst. plus major holidays(wich were listed) If we decided to purchase with in a year the remainder of the 9000 points would be rolled over. All this for $1000 I thought ok I will go with that cause if you can find a place to stay for anything less that $100 a night good luck keeping the cockroaches of of you.
Me growing up I never took vac. (family couldnt afford it) My wife family everyyear, 4 or 5 familying go together and rents a condo of some sore $1400 to $2000 a week and slpit it. I thought if my wife and I were vac. with them why not pay me insted of some over hotel.
We have not book our vac. yet and don't really know when we want to go, but here is what I did that maby no one else did do. (my wife says I am a dork but at least I know this)
We got our small sampler book and opened it up to Tenn. and punch the the two for Tenn.
They were beautiful at least from then out side. and packed so they seem to work for some people. (don't think they were plants just because we were in town for the promo)
As I drove around the Laural Crest I stop and older gentleman with I would guess is grandkids and I just flat out asked him what he thought about bluegreen.
He said the maint. fees were kinda high but he and his family injoyed it. I ask when he signed up he said 1999 as a silver owner and had since become a gold owner and just that week became a platnum owner. I asked nothing else and went on my way. I have met at lease one person not a plants face to face what he thought, and other then the maint. fees I think he loved it.
We will try our hand at it and if we like it we too will become an owner.
This will not help everbody if it helps at least one person with there decision weather it be an owner or not please do not do more than what you can afford. God bless and be kind to each other.

My god...How blind can you be. After reading all the posts here about what an incredibly HUGE scam this corporation is you STILL tossed your money in the toilet.

Bottom line: You buy the package, you get little to nothing in return but headaches. Good luck - your going to need it.

By the way people - ANYONE COMING TO THIS SITE TO TELL YOU HOW WONDERFUL THIS CRAPPY COMPANY IS IS LYING! THEY ARE SALES ###. PERIOD.

Why...WHY, would anyone "Happy" with their vacation plan bother coming to a Complaints Board, and then taking the time to post? I'll tell you why - THEY ARE BLUEGREEN EMPLOYEES!

Don't be stupid, for God sakes! Run, don't walk, run from these monsters.

Hi... I also signed up for the Bluegreen Sampler package but I had a very detailed person setting up my acc0unt that let me know about the holidays and certain days in the sumer that I could not vacation.. I actually liked my sampler package because it gave us just that a sample of something greater... I didnt buy the full package after experiencing the sampler package because the price was a little too steep but with the sampler package I was able to plan four trips to places I would of otherwise never gone..

K Shaw...If you are NOT a Bluegreen Plant (Pun Intended) let me tell you how this is going to play out for you:

1. Bluegreen is going to sucker you in by making sure you get to book a nice vacation. Then, you'll think "Wow, what a great deal, we should buy the silver package".
2. You buy the Silver package and find out about a year later it's actually Turd Brown package. You WILL NOT be able to book another vacation when you want. NEVER. If you want to go to Branson or Tennessee in the winter when the pool is closed and it's freezing then sure, enjoy, otherwise forget it.

According to Bluegreens most recent SEC filing they have over 225000 "Owners" and roughly 54 resorts. your competing with 220000 other people to get the rooms that are NOT being sold by the company on a CASH ONLY basis at www.bluegreenrentals.com. Basically - your totally hosed. KISS YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY GOOD BYE.

just got back from Boyne it was great. Spent easter there. Water Park was awesome. I'm not a BG plant. I'm a construction worker/ concrete finisher. I know BG is not for everyone. You need to have a very flexable job, ability to take time off when you want. If you plan it right there are endless possabilitys. I've been a member for 2 years. I've been to Williamsburg, Hershey, Shannadoea, and Boyne. All have been great times. The reason I came to the complain page was in the first three places we stayed we had BUN coffee makers and in Boyne it was just the old kind that takes 20 min. to make a pot.

I think people are up set because they do not understand how to book rooms. You need to check availabilitys first and go then. You can't say lets go to Fl. in two weeks and find a place. All of the resorts are suppost to be 5 star places so spend a little time planing and make it work for you.

On Valintines day my wife spends 1-2 hours finding available dates at different resorts and we pick our vacations then. Another tip is to select the +-3 day when checking dates because it will give you more options.

Anyway i'm happy with bluegreen. Some of there salereps might be ### but there resorts are GREAT.

Eric, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt my friend and say you are not a Bluegreen plant. Let me clue you in on some reality before you go offering advice to someone who's been an owner for 6 years. I too was a "happy owner" for my first two years. But, after two years everytime I tried to reserve vacation time, the answer was no. I've tried no less than 25 times over the last 2 years to reserve time at 18 different resorts - all of them no less than 2 months out. Most were 4-7 months out. That is was grates my ###. I was sold this crap so that we could go anywhere in the program as long as we called at least 30 days out. Of course your not going to get time if you call 2 weeks out...no [censored], The problem is, ERIC, that you can't get time at a QUALITY resort EVER! That is total BS.

I see from you list that you went to "less than marquee" resorts. I have no doubt you got to go to Williamsburg, Hershey, Shannadoea, and Boyne...off season. Absolutely. BG isn't making any money on those places in the off season. What you don't seem to realize is that 90% of us want to go where it's sunny and warm. If I wanted crappy and cold I'd hang out at a Bluegreen Sales Office and consort with the ash and trash that work there.

If your not a Bluegreen plant...Why did you come to Complaintsboard.com? Why would you bother to come to this site and THEN bother to post a 232 word post? Suspect...very, very suspect.

Now that I hope you understand that I have also been an owner for 6 yrs and have never had any problems in getting a place in the sun in the school holidays, last year it was Marathon and Miami, the year befor Charleston and MB. This year it is Hawaii Napa Vally (select connections) and Vegas.
So pleas dont say you cant get into these kind of resorts becauseYOU are the one that is wrong YOU are the one that is a stranger to the truth.

Eric I hope you have many wonderful holidays with your BG points Join the yahoo group and find out how to get more out of the system.

and Shu I come on here to correct the BULL that people like you write.
If you took as much time in getting to know how to use what you bought instead of spewing or this bull then the penny just may drop

John Carl is full of CRAP!
If you are retired, and have all the time in the world to go to a resort at a crappy time of the year, or at the last minute then yes, absolutly you'd be happy. These ### pray on hard working middle class WORKING! families by selling "FLEXIBILITY, AVAILABILTY, AFFORDABILITY". They know for a fact it doesn't work that way. YET, they lie their A$$es off just to get that commission check. These ### are bottom feeding puss trolls.

Bluegreen will tell you anything to get you to sign that contract. Anyone who gets on here and cries about "Well you should have read your contract" is one of those parasites trying to distract anyone reading this thread from the truth. Bluegreen is nothing more than a nest of thieves and liars.

One last thing...John Carl, If you are so pleased with Bluegreen...why in the hell are you at complaintsboard.com posting? Suspect John Carl...very suspect.

Lord [censored]s...You ARE an employee, and a septic dweller. My god...you sound just like an 'fing Bluegreen advertisment. Proof positive you are one of the coven you ###.

I've spent days, weeks, and months trying to get something for the money I've wasted on this nightmare. So have hundreds of other victims.

FACTS ARE FACTS YOU LOSER...WHY ELSE WOULD YOU COME TO THIS SITE. You've made 26 posts here at this site alone under this ONE pseudoname playing cheerleader for Bluegreen. You make me sick you lying piece of feces.

Yeah, right, your not a sales [censored]. Sure. Your just here because you love Bluegreen. 26 posts...and your not a sales slut? Bull S#$t... You really are a sad, sad, sad human.

The only people who could love the company are the gutter trash that get the opportunity through Bluegreen to steal from hard working people. The Yahoo Group is nothing more than a bait and switch mechanism for the snakes that work this scam.

Liars, Thiefs, Parasites and ###. That is all they are...that is all you are.

You just dont understand that there are 2 sides to every story and not just yours

You must be a sandwich short of a picnic not to to understand (for god knows how many times) that I do not work for BG and I am a happy owner just putting his side of the story

You just dont understand that there are many many happy owners

You just dont understand that there are more happy owners that unhappy owners

You just dont understand about the group on yahoo

In a nut shell you understand very little apart from scamming these people on here

I have been a Bluegreen owner for over 7 yrs. I have been pleased with the resorts and the exchanges with RCI. I'm active duty and can't always go vacation and kids not old enough the go it alone, I have "banked" time with RCI to use up to 2 yrs later. I have been able to book vacations (with relative short notice) during the busy seasons of 4th of July/spring break/easter break/summer time. One of my RCI exchanges allowed me and my family to attend my neice's graduation in UT Knox (stayed in Sieverville at very nice resort/Wyndam). I have not got every date/place I have wanted but I have gotten a majority of them. I took my son to Las Vegas for trade show (CES) for his 16th B day. I enjoy my timeshare experinences very much, the resorts are clean, staff are nice and most concerns are addressed. They do lack free internet in the rooms but so do Hiltons. I have just booked World Golf Village for a wk in July for son and ex (father and sons need to bond, even in messy divorces) I was glad to give them a nice vacation resort to stay at (using points so ex and underage son can stay w/o me). It gives a nice option and with opportuntity for exchanges w/ RCI spreads vacation options over 4 yrs, I have "lost" very min points. I will be glad when paid off, but I can pass along to kids, soon they will be paying the fees to use it. It is not cheap, but in the long run it will be great for future vacations with grown kids/grand kids and extended family.

Well...I discovered the deal with these Bluegreen cheerleaders.
Ever wondered why someone would come to a consumer complaints site and cheer on the bad guys, the rip off artists, scamsters, crooks and thieves (Bluegreen). I just didn't get it...until I did some research. These guys are paid "REPUTATION DEFENDERS". Companies pay these dirt bags to scour the internet and DEFEND thier practices.
Proof: Google the following words "reputation defense".

some people get off by knocking other people down a notch. what is good for one family may not be good for another. wouldnt it be a better use of your time to tomind your own business and let people make up their own mind about timeshare ownership. i own 2 of them, but am thinking about selling 1 of them and buying into bg. that may be the best use of my time and money for vacations. i do not work for them. i am a union truck driver.

Well I just got back from my Blue Green Resort deal. As one guy said. You are promised 2 nights 3 days. You are there less then 48 hours. Also why would a company have to offer 1300 dollars worth of crap the first day just to get you to sign. On top of everything else. The Sales person told me it was like buying Real Estate. I for one feel that if I am buying Real Estate I should get to live in it Year round. Scam? Most likely yes. Lets look at the point system and being friends with RCI. Blue Green really has a few places that they own but being Friends with RCI can take you all over the world. What Happens if RCI goes Out of business? What Happens the place you want to go is all booked up? What happens when you pay 25, 000 dollars in to this but then they start hitting you with Fees? Bottom line. Call it Real Estate call it owning a piece a land. the bottom line is Blue Green is time shares and thats a scam in its self. The Manager was real pushy and kept trying to lower my payments to make me buy. The Sales person was nice but he played out the nice guy I have so much stuff in common with you routine. Terrible. When I buy something. I want to see and decide. I dont like being told I have to do this today or being pushed. So if you go to Blue Green you keep a few things in mind. Orbitz, Priceline, Hotels.com, and good old fashion camping trips.

You guys are doing it all wrong! I LOVE Blue Green! I vacation with them every other year. I sign up for their presentation deal and enjoy my 2 night's stay in Gatlinburg. I let them charge me $99 and agree to attend a 90 minute presentation. After 2 hours, I leave with $100 in Bass Pro gift cards, and enjoy my 2 night stay.

Don't fall for the sales pitch. I always play along for about 20 minutes or so. I love to see their face when they think they have me on the hook. When I get bored, I tell them NO and ask to leave. After 15 minutes or so more, they give up.

BONUS! If you go to the BlueGreen booth in Gatlinburg and tell them you signed up for a tour, but don't have a ride, they will be nice enough to pick you up and drive you to the resort for FREE (I always tip the driver).

DOUBLE BONUS! Tell them you make $150k a year and they will give you a nicer hotel!
