On 12/24/22, I pulled up to my local Boston Market on the Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 to pick up my $39 online order. I sat at the drive through window for 10 minutes. No one came to the window. I called and the kid said he didn't see me out there. So I had to go in. The food bins were practically all empty; just potatoes left. They couldn't complete my order. There was one employee working. The restaurant was almost in a "closed down" state! I spoke to the manager, and she said they didn't see me when I pulled up to the drive through and that I had to "circle the building" in my car so they could see that I arrived. That is total bull! I told her this is no way to run a business. No food; n employees; no customer service. The two chicken roasts I received were almost not fit to eat and overcooked. I am NOT HAPPY with Boston Market and will not be using them again.
Desired outcome: An apology; a refund; and retraining of the owner and employees in how to successfully operate a Boston Market restaurant.

Shortly after Thanksgiving, I placed a Holiday Meal for 12 Thru Boston Market, to be picked up on 12/23/2022. I was told they did not have the stuffing that comes with the heat and serve meal, and said he would substitute Mac n Cheese.I was understanding about it. Then I was told they did not have the dinner rolls, so he included cornbread. I thought cool. Until I got home to put everything away. I was given enough Mac & Cheese to feed 2 people, only 6 cornbread, was missing the crackers for the dip, the cranberry relish, and the glaze for the ham. I paid a lot of money for this meal, and had to go and pay more money to replace what was missing.

Update- what i thought was the spinach artichoke dip, is actually cream of spinach that was not part of the $180 order. I am so livid right now. It's Christmas eve, hours before the family dinner, and i have to run to the store and buy all kinds of crap. The mash potatoes that were sent that is supposed to feed 12 might feed 4.. i am missing all kinds of stuff, and what was substituted wouldn't feed a family of 4 I literally have to create a whole meal now. Due to issue with my ankles and not being able to stand for long is the reason i went with this premade heat and serve meal. Boston Market has completely screwed our Christmas dinner

They gave no alternative, and I could not get anyone to answer phones and since then i have called, written letter, written email. when i call they say someone will call me back in two business day, they don't. I have never hear from email or letter.

Food at thanksgiving
2 days before Thanksgiving on the internet, instead of letting you choose the time you pick up, they just spit a mandatory time and expected you to be there. They wanted me to be there that afternoon, i wanted to come the next day.
However, I called every number I could find, to no avail. No answer, where I could I left a message. I wrote a letter, an email.
I have heard nothing from them. After the holiday calmed down, I called plenty more times, They said, someone would call me in two days. never an answer came.
It was a 30.00 meal And I wanted you to point this in the right direction

My name is Cynthia Timms I am writing to you because I am in total shock on how the staff at the Boston Market acted on my visit there December 10th, 2022.
I went to the store located at 285 N. Weber, Bolingbrook IL. I went to the store at 8:10pm I tried to open the door and it was closed so I went to the drive thru. Once I got to the menu all of the lights on the menu screen were shut off so this prevented me from being able to see the menu screen, I looked into the window and I saw 3 staff members, it took a minute but finally a female in a very rude voice said “can I help you” I said yes but I am not able to see the screen is there a way that you can tell me what the new sauce is and she replied in a rude voice” it’s a sauce that goes on your chicken” I said okay - I will order a two piece chicken meal and I asked if I could get a wing and thigh she replied “No” we do not sale it that way I said I have come here in the past and it was not a problem at all she said “well we don’t do that” I said ok – I could hear in her voice that she was very rude and I asked her was she okay? She indicated that “we are fine” I said to her it doesn’t seem that you are okay because you are being very rude, I said you know I would like to speak to the manager, “the female said he can hear you” - I said I understand but I would like to talk to him - the manager came on the speaker and said ”what can I help you with” and I said I am not able to see the menu screen and I wanted to know if you can tell me what the sides are – he read them off so fast that I could not understand him so I just order mash potatoes and corn and the manager said you know what we are just not going to serve you – I said oh yes you are I haven’t done anything to you – to be honest the whole establishment is all wrong.
We went back and forth and then I pulled up to the window to pay for the order - when I got up to the window the female took the money which was a $20.00 bill and the total for the order was $12.64 -when she handed me the money back the change purposely fell on to the ground, and I asked the female to replenish the change and she said “pick it up off the ground if you want it” in the same incident she gave me the F - - - You finger – then to make it even worse she called me a name and she said “ You old B ---- ( the B word) – I was so floored, hurt, and just blind sided that all I could do is drive away. I think the most thing that shocked me was the total disrespect, the hostility, the unconcerned and non-customer service attitude that this young woman had, and I see why she gets away with this type of mistreatment is because the manager of this location has this same hostile makeup with his demeanor. Of course I did not eat the food, because if the employees were full of this much hate there was no way I would eat the food and I was right when – I want you to know that the manager prepared the order – when I got home I opened up the order of food and I just shook my head I have attached a picture of what they had the audacity to serve me just so sad, mean, evil and wrong.

Part 2 of my complaint:
I was having difficulty figuring out where to get refund for my order online that was not filled. I called Boston Market and was told to go to the store to request it. I went and since there's no more customers waiting the Manager (I think she is the manager) ask if I just want my order...I do not want to deal with more issues, so I said yes. We got the food finally! It's okay now. We got the food we paid for even though it is 3 hours late. My officemates and I will just feast over these foods tomorrow.
Unfulfilled an online already paid order
On Wednesday 11/16/22, I placed an order online with Boston Market, located at 8606 Firestone Blvd., Downey CA 90241, for pick up next day on Thursday 11/17/22. It was for our office luncheon. I paid the order online and had my order confirmation number [protected]. When I get there to pick up my order, there were a lot of people waiting in line to pick up their orders. I asked how long the wait is for pick up. They asked my name, then the lady at the counter looked at her list and said there were 5 orders ahead of me. So, we waited. After a good 20 minutes, I asked again the same lady, then she asked my name again and looked at her list. Then she said, I do not see your name on the list. I said I thought you said 5 orders ahead of me? I did not understand what else she said as an excuse as it does not make sense. At any rate, it was pointless to argue about it so I said calmly... I placed the order online yesterday and it was already paid. The other lady said we can fill your order, but your sides will not be as how you ordered. You have to choose what's left available. I said okay... can you please fill the order now? Then, I was told they do not know how long because they have still had a lot of orders to fill. I said would it be an hour wait and they said maybe. I said it's for our office lunch so I cannot wait that long. I asked if I could just cancel the order and get a refund. They told me I have to go online and request the refund, which I will do after writing this complaint. It was very frustrating because my office mates and myself skipped breakfast to get good appetite for our Boston Market office luncheon. We were all disappointed at Boston Market! We were looking forward to it. Boston Market employees need to be trained on customer service. Not only we did not get our (office) order, but the Boston Market employees were rude and unapologetic for messing up our order.
Desired outcome: Train your employees well. Be considerate of your customers because when an order is placed and not filled, it is very disappointing not to have it. It wasted the customer's time.
Heat of steam table side dishes inadequately heated, corn bread. Cold and like rubbet
After ordering a half chicken meal, the side dish of spinach which is an up charge of a dollar was extremely cold. I complained to the customer service individual, which she seamed annoyed about. It took two times to get it even moderately warm.
I’ve eaten at several “Boston Markets” and even when it was called “”Boston Chicken” it was probably the experience I’ve ever encountered. The potion of chicken seemed small, the squabble over the heat of the side dishes. Just put a bad taste in my mouth.
Desired outcome: A reimbursement for my meal and an apology for a very disappointing donning experience.

Many items that we wanted were not available.
No corn, no sandwich combos, no drinks whatsoever, mixed vegetables no
longer just broccoli. No crackers for soup. no longer have Caesar salad.
Chicken was burnt.
Gentlemen working was very nice. Felt sorry for him.
We freguent Boston Market once or twice a month and will stop again sometime but we will check the menu and if nothing has changed we will leave/
Desired outcome: The place to go back to being a nice eating experience.
Environmental practices
I am frequent customer at various Boston Market stores in the Bergen County, NewJersey area. In both the Lodi Store (on Essex Street) and the Hackenack Store (on River Street), they are still using the plastic bags that the State of New Jersey outlawed 6 months ago.
I have inquired at the store counters and all but one counter person said they did not know about the NJ ban on store plastic bags. In one case the store employee wanted to just get rid of me so he said that the bags were heavy duty and reusable and, therefore, were an exception to the law. NOT TRUE. The bags appear to be exactly the same as those that were in use before the law went into affect.
If Boston Market is an exception to the law, I would like to know. I'd appreciate your input. Thank you.

Service: No greeting when you enter the door. No manners. Not wearing uniform.
I entered the facility in the evening. A African American Female large build was at the register. there was no greeting and she was wearing regular clothing no uniform. her hair was not presentable and they had no hair protection when serving the food. This occurred on October 8th, 2022. There were 2 females and 1 male. all African American. The male had a uniform on and was very helpful with manners. The 2nd woman young tall and slim when asked about the rice did not know what type of rice she was serving and did not know what she was doing.Acted confused.They were not organized as a team.

I am the owner of M&M Welding & Fabricators, Inc. (M&M). Your employee, Joseph Campbell ([protected]@bost.com) contacted us to perform six (6) emergency HVAC jobs at various Boston Market and Corner Bakery locations in Montgomery County and Prince Georges County, Maryland, in July and August, totaling $12,433.50.
After numerous attempts to collect this money, neither Joseph or your Accounts Payable Department will respond.
M&M is a small woman owned business and we performed this work in good faith and we need to be paid for this work ASAP.
Kindly advise when can expect payment.
Desired outcome: Immediate payment for all six (6) past due invoices. A/P has copies of all invoices.
Food service
I had ordered food delivery from the Boston Market on Boston Road Springfield Ma. I got a call back from there saying that they didnt have my food that i ordered so i cancelled the order. Door dash was delivering it which is fine the door dasher understood why i cancelled the order. I told the person i talked to on the phone from boston market i would like to get my money back to my debit card and he said that was fine he was going to do that right away. The order was for 27.96 I still have not seen the money back on my card because that is a lot of money to pay for food and not receive it. Can you please contact me back with a solution I really need that 27.96 back. Thank you

Horrendous, appalling, service... Employee even got confrontational, cursing.
I just came from the Boston Market off of Sheridan and 92nd. This was actually the FORTH time I have walked in that restaurant and there were three young Hispanic guys working at the front counter. Only one of them actually seemed to be working. I patiently waited, saw there was no spinach nor mashed potatoes. VERY MUCH the usual there... NO, we don't have meatloaf, we don't have chicken Corden Blue, etc... etc... I came in with my wife once, out of various things. Was in one time and I and the two people behind me walked out, all three of us, not only because a lack of products but an incredible attitude was exuded: Smart %ss, downright rude. I will say this all seems to occur ONLY when this older Hispanic manager is nowhere to be seen, most likely off.
Tonight was the most appalling service I had in a restaruant in the last 20 years. I mentioned I would be contacting Corporate, and Management and this kid tells me to "Get the F&ck Out"... Unbelievable. I thought he certainly must own this restaurant as he sure acted like it. I was ready to call the Westminster Police to have them come over and get a report written just to address this "Gangster Mentality" this one employee exuded.
Desired outcome: I would like to see this young man TERMINATED IMMEDIATELY. He obviously needs a lot of growing up to do.
