maple nut goodies
My daughter purchased a 4 oz bag of Maple Nut Goodies with the code of 7B01BB182 --Best By 11/07/17 on the bag ..The candy is nothing like this same candy has been . The outer covering is gummy and sticky, while the inside is chewy, not crunchy as I expected it to be .
This is the biggest disappointment because everyone knows that if they bring a bag of Maple Nut Goodies to me, they have brought my favorite . But no more . My daughter gave these to me as part of my Mothers Day present . I will advise them not to bring anymore .
I hope you can fix this, whatever it is that has changed your candy .
Respectfully,
Bernice Thompson

I purchased a small bag of Brach's Maple Nut Goodies on 5/15/17 at a local Dollar General Store. Usually I am not one to complain about poor quality from a large business because I usually do not expect any better. However, I could not have ever imagined that the day would come that I would think that a better name for Goodies would be Baddies. I have enjoyed this candy most of my life. It is actually the one thing that my dad and I always agreed on when I was younger. He taught me to love this candy. I am only glad he was not around to break his teeth on it today.
maple nut goodies
The Maple Nut Goodies have always been one of my favorite candies, however, the last two bags that I bought had to be thrown in the trash. The first bag I thought was maybe old or a bad batch, so I waited a few weeks before buying another and to my disappointment it was the same. It didn't taste the same and the candy was as hard as a rock. Whatever your company did to this candy was not an improvement. Please pull this from the shelves and go back to the original recipe! I can't afford to keep throwing money in the trash!
I purchased a 20 oz bag of your maple nut goodies and they were not fresh.
The bag states roasted peanuts in crunchy toffee with real maple syrup. This bag was soft and not crunchy. I have never had a maple nut goodie that was soft to touch. I pick up these because my blood sugar drops and this helps. I am sorry to say I was very disappointed as we were 50 plus miles from home. I enjoy brach candies and have for a good many years, I would like to continue enjoying your products.
Thank you

Who is the ### in your R&D department that thought making a recipe change to your Maple Nut Goodies was a good idea. You need to fire their ###. REALLY! It use to have the shiny outer hard candy coating and soft chewy insides. Now they're the complete opposite. The outside is soft and nasty and the inside is like a rock. Your company said they were going to fix the problem. When? When hell freezes over? This is the third bag I've bought in the last six months and they still taste like ###. You have lost me as a consumer until you fix this problem. I have loved these since I was a child, why did you have to ruin such a wonderful product. How many consumers have broken teeth since the change. Your company must love litigation, otherwise you would have changed back to the old recipe by now. People keep buying this ### because they think you are fixing the problem. I want my damn money back.

After going through much of what everyone else did who has recently had the Maple Nut Goodies, I am so very disappointed in the product. Like another customer, we were given a bag as a gift and I threw it away thinking it was old although the date did not indicate that it was. I bought another bag and had the same experience. The nuts are so hard you can't chew it and the outside coating is too soft. Where can we see on your website a response to these customer complaints. I'd be interested to see Brach's response as to their knowledge the product they are now selling and if they anticipating making a change to the former recipe.
Horrible, stupid change, inedible, nasty recipe of Maple Nut Goodies. If you don't go back to the original recipe, you may as well stop making whatever this putrid mess is. Nobody will buy or consume this crap-a-doodle-doo. You have destroyed a long time standard traditional candy.
Well I hope Brach's doesn't go bankrupt over this stupidity. They are horrible... Who wants to eat a rock inside of a little maple cream...NOT I..
We will not show your our response.
We will not disclose our secret recipe.
We owe you nothing for a bag you did not purchase and think that you don't need anymore candy anyway, fatso.
maple nut goodies
I have loved this candy for as long as I can remember. I bought a bag about a month ago and opened it and had to throw it away, due to it being too hard. So, I bought another bag (hoping it was a bad batch from Walmart). Nope, same thing from the grocery store. My favorite candy is now a disappointment. :'(
Won't be buying anymore with this hard center. I need my teeth.
Unfortunately, if you look up this candy on Walmart.com or any other store. It's bad reviews everywhere. You should return to the original way you made them. You have lots of unhappy, long time customers.
brach's maple nut goodies.
I splurged on a 20 ounce bag of your Maple Nut Goodies yesterday and was so very disappointed. They are not as flavorful as they use to be and so hard that I could have broken a tooth. I bought them at Menard's in Lancaster Ohio. I do not know how to send a copy of the receipt over the Internet. I would appreciate your refunding my $3.29 to Cheryl Howard, 14933 Mayfair Road, Thornville Ohio 43076. Thank you!
brach's maple nut goodies
In the past two months I have purchased this product. They are not the original goodies that I have had. These are hard, one could break their teeth on them, the outside coating is nasty tasting. They are not good. Please return this product to its delicious self. I have eaten these for years and I will certainly think twice before purchasing another bag.
Maple Nut Goodies is my favorite candy but the last bags my wife purchased for me were so hard they were not edible. The bar code on the packages are [protected]. You guarantee freshness but these were not fresh at all. Please replace them as I usually buy them in bulk packages to carry with me at all times. My name is Danny Freeman and my address is: 2940 Karmen Lane, Poplar Bluff MO 63901. I look forward to hearing from you concerning this complaint. Thank you for your time and concern.
brach*s maple nut goodies
Brach*s Maple Nut Goodies are not so "Goodie" any more. Please go back to the old recipe. The new ones are hard and tasteless, I thought I had gotten a bad bag but, two bags later I realized that was not the case. 3 bags in the trash! Will not buy anymore unless you change back to the original recipe. This product was introduced to me by my Grandmother, it was her favorite candy, I don't think it would be any more. Thank You for your time.
stale marshmallow bunny
I always look forward to the treats from Brachs at Easter time as well as all the holidays. I have never had a problem or been disappointed until now. I purchased a large 8 oz. marshmallow bunny who was advertised to be "Tall and Mighty". Well he turned 0ut to be tall and tough! It was so hard to even bite into and when you finally got a piece it was like chewing gum. I always select your products over the store brand so this is not the usual. Maybe it is the exception for this product. Thanks for having this complaint process as it works well to blow off a bit of steam instead of yelling at an innocent representative on the telephone about a large candy bunny.
maple nut goodies - product recipe change
I am another unhappy customer relative to Brachs Maple Nut Goodies. Like many others I have been hooked on Maple Nut Goodies for many years. I have always purchased by the bag at Cracker Barrel and more recently in bulk (5lb to 7lb bag) via Amazon. I only buy the products that state they are brachs and when I get them the bag always has a Brachs description and nutrition stickers on them. I bought a 2 lb. bag in November 2016. They were the product I had been buying for years and were excellent. I purchased the next bag in April 2017 and they had changed completely. Different color, smaller in size, different tase and hard texture as opposed to the softer and chewy texture. I then bought another batch from a different seller and they were bad as well ! Please tell me this was only a temporary product test that has gone bad and the "real" Maple Nut Goodies are back! Seriously, I cannot buy any more Maple Nut Goodies if you do not go back to the originals !
After reading these comments, I might as well stop searching for maple goodies. I have loved these candies since I was a kid, and have recently been looking for them in the stores. NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! I do remember after being reminded by these comments that the last ones I bought were different. Such a shame to change everything, from school names to candy..I always heard if it ani't broke don't fix it!
I just sent the following complaint to Ferrera regarding Maple Nut Goodies:
I am adding my name to the list of Maple Nut Goodie lovers who are begging you to please return the recipe to the original.
I've loved Maple Nut Goodies since the early 1980s.
I bought them regularly until they became hard to find in our Montana home. But yesterday, after a hard week, I had a mighty craving so I sent my husband on a wild goose chase to go get me as many bags as he could. I was initially sad that he could only find two bags in our entire town, but after tasting the new recipe, I am glad for the reprive.
The new "creamy" coating on the outside is uncalled for. The original crispy fondant that surrounded the chewy peanut toffee was what made this candy special. I can't afford to waste food, so I will choke down the packages he purchased, but unless the recipe returns to the original, that's it for me with Brach's altogether.
I could understand if this was a change that needed to be made for the pandemic, but clearly, it was implemented well before, and it seems to be a cost-cutting measure. I would encourage you to cut the product altogether if it is a matter of saving money on production because this recipe disrespects its greatness. I was ready to spend $40 to have a 20-ounce bag sent to my home. It's not like consumers aren't willing to pay more for the product they love. Please, I am begging you. So many things suck in this world. Maple Nut Goodies shouldn't be one of them.
Sincerely,
JR
i agree! please bring back the original Maple goodies! the new ones suck
I agree with the consumers that Brach’s made a big mistake changing the recipe for the Maple Nut Goodies Candies. I would be will to pay twice the price to get the original recipe back. Big mistake making a change in the recipe. I have loved this candy most of my life and I am in my 60’s. So very sad that to save money cut cost what ever the reason was you had to go and ruin a great tasting candy. I would even buy them and hide them so no one could get them from me. I ate the whole bag in one sitting but I have not purchased them in a very long time.
Just like all the others said, I will never buy these again.
So sad. It really wasn’t just a bad bag? Very disappointing. These were my favorite also. It’s now 2021. I guess the old recipe isn’t coming back...
The current Maple Nut Goodies are terrible! Just like all of the other comments posted here agree. Another company bought Brachs and obviously the new people had no taste at all for the old style, best candy ever, Maple Nut goodies. In fact they probably had never even tried them! But they came in and the first thing they looked at was how to make them cheaper. By doing that they totally ruined the original candy that we all loved.
I did write to the the company and the response I received back was basically, "we are sorry you have not enjoyed the Maple Nut Goodie but perhaps you might like to try one of the many other varieties of candy we offer". What kind of response is that to a customer that has been eating the Maple Nut Goodies for many many years and loving them. There wasn't even any comment as to why they felt a need to change the recipe. Obviously this is the type of new ownership they now are. That is very sad.
It's good to learn that others hate these "new" recipe maple nut goodies. I have been an avid fan of the old maple nut goodies for as long as I can remember (now 72). A couple of years ago they changed and were (and still are) too hard to eat. I swore off buying them and have only tried on rare occasions since, hoping that the recipe was changed back. Alas, not yet. I sometimes bought mine at Tractor Supply in an plain bag, other times from other stores in a Brach's bag. They were the same under the old recipe and both changed to the inedible hard ones at the same time. Just bought my latest test bag (Feb 2019) and they are still inedible. Evidently Brach's has no intention of returning to the good recipe. Oh well, another customer lost.
Supposedly they are now made in huge batches some where in Mexico.
Did you guys not take a lesson from Coca Cola? why in the world would you change an icon like Maple Nut Goodies?
you can't let bean counters run everything. I am sadly disappointed, been eating these for over 50 years, the first ones from the candy counter at Sears with my Dad. These were always the treat I looked forward to. My Dad has been gone many years, thankfully he has not had to endure this atrocity. I will not subject my grandson to this aberration . It will be Good & Plenty candy he will remember me for, not this inedible clump of rocks. Sad.
Trump can lie and get away with it, your lie about rushing to correct the texture of the Maple Nut Goodies after two years is apparent with every goody I suffer thru. It’s Nov 2018 and I have waited months to purchase my current sack. The taste is memorable but the overall experience sucks. Cut the bull and fulfill your promise. I am 95 and not sure how much longer I can wait. Warren Fisher. I
I agree, whatever this [censored] they radomly started coming out with is total crap. I highly incurage people to not by this product. Hard as [censored] and nothing compared to the original recipe.
maple but goodies
Please return the Maple But Goodies back to their original recipe. They used to be so soft and amazing! Now they are hard and flavorless. I do not like them. My mother introduced me to these candies when i was a small girl. My mother is gone now and i would buy a bag because they reminded me of her and of course they're just good. I bought a bag a few weeks ago and I thought I bought a stale bag BC they were hard. But I bought a couple of more bags at different stores and realized that you all changed the recipe. Again, I do not like it. I know I am just one small voice but please listen... The new recipe is terrible.
candy product quality of maple nut goodies
Attention Product Management of Bach:
First, a little background information. I am only taking/wasting my time to write this to vent my unhappiness with the changes made sometime in the last year to the formula of the maple nut candy that you have been producing for many years. My father introduced me to this candy choice when I was very young and it was purchased from the candy counter (yes, they used to have such a thing) in Sears and Roebuck located in Durham, NC each time we had a family outing (maybe once a month) to purchase various goods. This became a practice that I looked forward to as a young boy some 70 plus years ago. Over the years, the consumption of this particular candy also became the favorite of my children as I introduced them to it and I had to start hiding my candy from them in order to save some for myself. Your maple nut candy has not always been available in the various parts of the US that we found ourselves living in and it always was a treat to find a source when it became locally available. My son mentioned just a few years ago when he was home for Christmas and I had included a package of your maple nut candy in his present that he had been unable to find it where he currently lived in south Alabama. Consequently, I have made sure that I included several packages of it each year since in his present even though he is 50 plus years old and certainly able to look for it himself.
The only drawback of your maple nut candy in past years was that it tended to harden with age and was best when fresh and still somewhat soft. When it became hard after sitting in a package on some shelf in a store for an extended period, one had to be careful not to break a tooth upon trying to consume it. I can only surmise that drawback is what your candy personnel were trying to correct when they introduced the new candy formula sometime last year. They may have corrected the problem with hardiness over time, but have destroyed the flavor and taste of the original candy in the process. I have several packages of your latest version in my desk drawer at this time, but will be throwing them out as they are not good and nothing like the original.
Just as my favorite shopping stores, Sears & Roebuck, K-Mart, etc. are dying out as being not relevant and competitive in today’s world, I fear that Bach will follow them to oblivion as well if the changes to this particular candy line is replicated among your other choices.
What do I expect you to do? Not a darn thing, just taking the time to vent from the disappointment of a long time customer. Good luck, you will need it. However, if you are making the maple nut candy with the original formula in another part of the US, let me know of that source.
last to bags I bought was yucky and been buying them for years.whats going on with this candy.its not fit to eat anymore.
maple nut goodies
There is a serious problem with the quality of "Maple Nut Goodies" currently being sold. I see from other consumer comments on your website, I'm not the only person to have an issue with this product. I have been buying Maple Nut Goodies for over 50 years, this product has always had the highest quality and consistently good taste. The last (2) packages I purchased have been horrible, they are extremely hard and crunchy. The taste is not what I've come to expect and enjoy for 8 decades. I purchased both packages at Rite Aid in Warren, Ohio the batch# above the "best by" date is 6K21BB183.
The best by date is 08/21/2017. Please tell me that you are aware of the cause for this change in quality/taste, and that you have taken the necessary steps to resolve this problem ASAP!
maple nut goodies
This used to be my favorite candy. The last 5 bags of maple nut candy I have bought have been horrible. At first I realized that you changed the outter coating and didn't really like the change but bought another bag. The next two bags seemed to be stale so I bought from 2 different stores and still the same stale, hard to chew candy. I bought my last bag today unless you change the recipe back to what it was.
brach's spiced jelly bird eggs
I have always looked forward to spring when I could buy several of my favorite Brach's spiced jelly beans. I loved the green spearmint, White, Peppermint and red cinnamon, red hots. They've been a favorite in my house as well asyou late mother's.
I found them more difficult to locate over the years. However. I could find them at Walgreens. This year I bought 2 bags even though they looked nothing at all like the ones I've been buying for close to 20 years.
When I opened the bag and tasted them I nearly choked as the texture and taste were both terrible. They tasted like cough medicine and I noticed they weren't even the same pastel color and much larger than they used to be. I cannot tell you how disappointed I was. I couldn't eat them..any of the colors were all horrible.
Why, Why, Why would you change the recipe? I will never relive the Easter holidays with the New Brach's spiced jelly bird eggs.as I have enjoyed our the years. You will not sell these terrible tasting jelly beans.
No one will.like these new jelly beans. I have 1 unopened bag. I will not eat.
Thank you,

milk and dark chocolate bridge mix 8 oz.
Purchased 3 bags of above for a get together I had. Candy was very stale. My guests and I couldn't believe this was one of your products! Purchased at Walmart-[protected] 1. Said Best Buy date was 9/06/2016cCC114. All 3 bags had same numbers. Very disappointed in quality/freshness. Not at all like it usually is. I have been a loyal consumer of yours for many, many years.

The candy was individually wrapped. I taste a couple of pieces of this candy it taste like someone had put pepper in it.
I really like the marshmallow easter hunt eggs candy it so hard to find it around easter I always purchase at least 20 bags around easter and I have never had any problem with it. I was very surprised and hurt by this.
brach's kiddie mix
I bought this mix of candy today on my way home for $7.99 from Meijer in Brighton, MI. When I got home to fill the Easter eggs ALL of the Lemonheads were melted and broken. One completely opened. Everything in the bag is sticky. The bubble gum wrappers are open. The Now and Laters are completely melted and you can't even remove the wrappers. Another bag of Trolli Sour Brite eggs are completely empty and only two loose eggs in the bag. The package has condensation on the side. I just bought this today and the store is 45 minutes from my home. Now I have to go to a local store and purchase new candy. Not what I wanted to do the day before Easter with a ton to do. I have my receipt that matches today's date and took several pictures if you would like those sent. Very irritated that I wasted my time and money on this product!
I got a bag of some kiddie mix for myself and family this evening, I specifically got it bevaue it's got everything everyone loves... But I didn't get any bottle caps in my bag and some of the candy was stale tasting. I want it fixed!
