Brightstar Device Protect: Unreliable and Untrustworthy for Device Repairs
This company, Brightstar Device Protect, is not a good choice for device repairs. I had a bad experience with them when I paid $129 plus tax to get my damaged screen replaced. However, when I got my phone back, I found out that two of my phone sensors were not working. I contacted the company and sent my phone back to them to get it fixed. At first, they told me that I had to pay another $129 plus tax fee to get it repaired because the motherboard was damaged. They even tried to blame me for the damage, which was not true.
After I spoke to the Corporate team, they waived off the fee and said that my phone was not repairable. They promised to send me a replacement device and placed an order for it. I was relieved that they resolved my issue. However, two days later, when I called to check the status of the shipment, they told me that they had shipped my old "repaired" device instead of the replacement device. I was very upset and contacted the Corporate management team again. They gave me the same story and said that they could not see any replacement device ordered from them.
I am now trying to get the phone call recording on file to prove that they promised to send me a replacement device. In short, I would advise everyone to stay away from this company. They are not reliable and do not keep their promises.
Disappointing Experience with Brightstar Device Protect: A Review
I just wanted to share my experience with Brightstar Device Protect. I recently had to make a claim for my Samsung Flip through Boost Mobile and was a bit disappointed with the outcome. After paying a $188.18 deductible, I received a voucher for $1128.74 to use at a Boost Store. However, I quickly realized that Boost stores don't carry high-end phones like the Samsung Flip. I went to four different stores just to be sure, but they all told me the same thing. I even asked if they could order the phone for me, but they said no.
I called Brightstar Device Protect and spoke with a supervisor named Andrea. I explained that I had insured my Samsung Flip and wanted that same phone back. However, she told me that I would have to get whatever phone the store had in stock. I ended up getting an iPhone, which I'm not used to using. I filed a complaint with the BBB, and only then did Brightstar Device Protect offer me a visa card to purchase my phone with. However, they only offered this if I hadn't already used the voucher, which I had.
To make matters worse, I recently received an email from Brightstar Device Protect saying that they were going to charge my credit card $200 because I didn't return my old phone, which they didn't even replace. I never authorized this charge, and I feel like they breached their contractual obligation by not replacing my phone and making me get a phone I didn't want.
Overall, I was very disappointed with the service I received from Brightstar Device Protect. They didn't provide me with the phone I insured, and they charged me a deductible based on that phone. I would give them a zero if I could.
Frustrating Experience with Brightstar Device Protect: A Review
I recently had an experience with Brightstar Device Protect that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I submitted a claim for my device almost two weeks ago, but soon after, I received a notification that my claim was rejected because I had allegedly submitted two claims over the last 12 months, which was not true.
I decided to call their customer service to sort out the issue. The person who helped me agreed that there were no two claims and that something was going on. They assured me that they would escalate the problem and that I should receive a resolution soon.
However, a week later, I received an email from Likewize telling me that my claim was approved and that I could go ahead and submit my claim. But when I tried to submit the claim, I received the same message again: my claim was rejected because of two claims in less than 12 months.
I called again, and the person who helped me told me they were going to escalate the issue and that I should be getting a solution the following morning. The next day, I called in the morning as instructed, but the person who helped me told me the same thing. They said that the problem needed to be escalated to corporate offices and that they would transfer me. However, after waiting on hold for 30 minutes, my call got dropped.
I called again, and the same story repeated with the next person who helped me. They also transferred me to corporate, but this time, I left a callback number when the answering machine told me there was a 12-minute wait. However, I waited for more than three hours and never received a callback.
I called again, and the third person who helped me was quite rude. They kept insisting that they needed to transfer me to corporate and that there was no other way. I repeatedly refused to be transferred because of my previous experiences and asked to be transferred to a supervisor. After a 20-minute wait, I finally got helped by a supervisor who called corporate directly until my problem got solved.
I lost a whole day on my job just being in multiple calls and holds with Likewize, as well as more than ten days of waiting for my device to be fixed and not being able to do it because of an error on Likewize's part. This is definitely unacceptable, and I lost a lot of time and money just dealing with this.
In conclusion, I would not recommend Brightstar Device Protect to anyone. Once I repair my phone, I will upgrade it to an iPhone and get Apple care. It's just not worth the hassle and frustration that I experienced with Likewize.
Brightstar Device Protect Review: Terrible Services and Deceitful Practices
Looking for an insurance company to protect your device? Brightstar Device Protect should not be considered as an option. This company provides awful services to its clients. After I sent my device to be fixed, I waited for 7 days to receive a new device, as they could not fix it. However, what I received was a used phone in a small shoebox, which had scratches on the screen. The address was terribly taped on the front of the box, and there was no letter or explanation inside.
Feeling frustrated, I called them immediately and what I heard from their representative was even more frustrating. They confirmed that the IMEI number of the phone I received was different from the one I sent in. However, the representative insisted that the phone was repaired and it was mine. I had to dispute and clarify the issue seven times but without success. It was only after the seventh call that someone finally gave me an explanation.
I was informed that the company had repaired the motherboard, and that was why the IMEI number had changed. However, I did not believe it as the received phone had scratches, and I never removed the screen protector since I bought the device new six months prior. It was undoubtedly not my phone!
Despite my situation, Brightstar Device Protect was not willing to help or rectify their mistake, adding insult to injury. It turned out that I had to pay a $200 deductible, and my phone was now beyond repair, which ultimately led me to the conclusion that I was given a refurbished old phone instead of a new one.
In conclusion, I would not recommend Brightstar Device Protect, as they are deceitful and provide poor services. Do not take the risk of getting stuck in a similar situation, always opt for an AppleCare as it is the most reliable option.
Excellent Device Protection, Seamless Claim Process, and Fantastic Customer Service
I recently had an unfortunate incident with my phone and it resulted in some damage that required me to file a claim with Brightstar Device Protect. I was a bit nervous about the process, but I found that it was actually quite easy to navigate through their online claim system. I did have to submit my ID for verification purposes, which made me feel more secure knowing that there were measures in place to prevent fraud.
Unfortunately, my screen was so badly damaged that I couldn't access the site to see what the status of my claim was. Thankfully, I was able to call customer service and they were incredibly kind and efficient. They kept me updated on the status of my device and made sure I knew that it was approved and on its way to me. They also reiterated that my device had to go through an approval process, which made me feel more confident in the quality of their service.
Today, I received my device around 1 o'clock and it was in perfect condition - it looked like it had just come out of the box! I was also pleasantly surprised to find that it came with a charger and a new pair of headphones. I thought this was a very nice touch and showed how much Brightstar Device Protect cares about their customers.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience with Brightstar Device Protect. I did have to pay a $175 deductible and about $5.30 in taxes, but I feel that it was worth it for the level of service I received. I would give them a 1000 out of 10 for everything they did for me and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs device protection. Thank you, Brightstar Device Protect, for your hard work and for being there for your customers. You truly did an awesome job!
Warning: Avoid Brightstar Device Protect for Phone Repairs - My Horrific Experience
My personal Brightstar Device Protect story is one that I won't easily forget. I sent in my phone on December 22nd for a repair of the screen, as all other components were functioning properly. I was then charged $154 for the repair. Fast forward two weeks and I received the unfortunate news that my phone was unable to be fixed. To add insult to injury, I was told that not only would I not receive a refund, but I also couldn't have my original phone returned to me.
My experience with their system and customer service support was simply horrific. Brightstar really dropped the ball on communication, giving me no information until it was too late and they had already received my phone and money. And if that wasn't bad enough, their customer service representatives just made excuses instead of taking proper accountability.
My biggest gripe is how they expect each and every one of their customers to read a 27-page policy, instead of being transparent and honest with them from the beginning. When they told me that my phone was "unfixable," I was even more baffled by the fact that they refused to return it to me. I could have easily taken it to a reputable repair facility that would have known what to do, but instead, I was left with nothing but a bad taste in my mouth.
17 days later, I finally received a "loan" device, which just added insult to injury. All of my photos, contacts, and passwords that were saved on my original phone are now gone forever, which is honestly miserable. The fact that Brightstar refuses to return my phone is unacceptable.
This has undeniably been one of the worst experiences that I have ever had, and I highly advise any phone owners to avoid Brightstar Device Protect at all costs. You are much better off visiting a local repair shop, as this company is just disgusting.
My Disappointing Experience with Brightstar Device Protect
I have had the misfortune of needing to use the Brightstar Device Protect service on two separate occasions. Unfortunately, my experiences were far from satisfactory. The first replacement device I received was malfunctioning within just a few months. Hoping for better luck with the second phone, I eagerly awaited its arrival. However, I was disappointed to find that the fingerprint sensor was broken and the phone was incompatible with my service.
I took the phone to my local boost store, only to be informed that the model I had received was not compatible with my service. I immediately contacted Brightstar again, explaining the situation and requesting a replacement compatible phone. They did agree to send me another phone, but it would be the exact same model and no other options were offered.
When the replacement phone arrived, yet again it was not compatible with my service. The back sensor worked, but what good was that if I couldn't connect to my network? I was incredibly frustrated with the entire experience and decided to switch carriers rather than continue paying the monthly fees for such poor service and refurbished devices.
To be fair, Brightstar did offer to replace the phone, but the entire process was so frustrating that I could not bring myself to deal with them again. The fact that they only send refurbished phones is also concerning, as it seems to indicate that problems are more likely to occur with their replacements. Personally, I would rather pay for a brand-new phone from T-Mobile than chance going through this again with Brightstar. I cannot recommend them as a reliable or effective option for device protection.
Nightmare of a Claim Process with Brightstar Device Protect: Unhelpful Customer Service and Denied Claims
I had a truly terrible experience with Brightstar Device Protect. I unfortunately had to file a claim in early September and from there on out it was a nightmare. It took a month for them to finally send me a replacement phone, and when it arrived, it was already damaged with a green line through the screen. I immediately called Brightstar and was told that I had to file a new claim and submit all the required documents again. I did so, only to have my claim denied yet again.
For the next three months, I found myself calling their customer service team multiple times a day just to try and get some sort of update or resolution to my claim. I felt like I was constantly hitting dead ends and getting nowhere with them. Eventually, after what felt like a never-ending battle, I decided to cancel my claim and switch to a different phone carrier altogether. I was promised a refund if I sent back the damaged replacement phone, so I did exactly that.
When I called to confirm that the phone had been returned, the supervisor I spoke with said that they had no record of this and that I would have to talk to their security team. I was incredibly frustrated and felt like I was banging my head against a wall trying to get any sort of resolution. I even have screenshots of my conversations with their customer service team to prove my claims.
Overall, I had an absolutely awful experience with Brightstar Device Protect. Their customer service was unhelpful, and I felt like I was constantly being given the runaround. I would not recommend this phone insurance company to anyone.
Disappointed with Brightstar Device Protect for Uninformative Policies and Unauthorized Charges
I recently experienced some trouble with my phone, and as I had been paying for Brightstar Device Protect for several years at a rate of $7 per month, I thought it was time to file my first replacement claim. However, I was disappointed to find out that I had to pay a $50 deductible, which seemed excessive considering the amount I had already paid in premiums. I went ahead and paid the deductible with my debit card but was surprised to receive the replacement phone in the mail with nothing else in the package except for a plug-in charger.
I was unsure if I was supposed to return my broken phone or not and there were no clear instructions in the package regarding that matter. Unfortunately, I misplaced my broken phone, or perhaps lost it. Several days after receiving my replacement, I received an email from Brightstar informing me that they had charged me an additional $80 for not having returned the damaged phone. This was surprising since I had not been informed by anyone that I was required to send it back, nor had I given anyone permission to access my bank account in such a manner.
I contacted the company to obtain further clarification regarding their policies on this matter, and unfortunately, the representative I spoke to was not very helpful. When I asked why I had to return my broken phone, the response I received was "that's our policy", which was not very informative. I was also very concerned about the fact that they had charged my bank account without my permission. When I brought this up, the representative informed me that I had been notified. However, I had never spoken to anyone about any such charge.
All in all, I was very disappointed with my experience with Brightstar Device Protect. It seems that I have paid nearly $130, not to mention over $2500 in premiums over the years, for a $350 phone. If I had known that I would need to pay such high deductibles and would potentially face additional charges, I definitely would not have bothered with this service. It is my suggestion that anyone considering using Brightstar Device Protect puts their $7 in a coffee can under their bed and avoids the headache and price hikes associated with this service.
Poor Service and Lack of Communication: My Experience with Brightstar Device Protect
My experience with Brightstar Device Protect (brightstarprotect.com) has been extremely frustrating. I sent my phone in for repair on July 23rd, 2021, and it wasn't until July 27th, 2021 that they received it. From there, my phone sat there for a few weeks until it was finally repaired on August 7th, 2021. I was calling for updates on my phone, but I was never able to reach someone who could help me.
When I did finally get through to someone on the phone, I was told that my phone had not yet shipped out and to call back in the morning for an update. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for my phone to be returned to me to this day.
I have spoken with many corporate officials, supervisors, and agents, but despite my many calls and notes, no one has escalated the issue to the point where it is being addressed properly. To make matters worse, I discovered that Brightstar uses a company called CPR to fix phones, which means that they have to contact them to get any updates on my device. I was under the impression that they had their own repair team.
I am frustrated with the lack of communication and service I have received from Brightstar, and I am tired of speaking with representatives who can only offer me apologies. I feel that it is their responsibility to reach out to me, especially since this is a work phone that I need for my job.
Despite the fact that my phone was listed as repaired, Brightstar has not even offered to send me a replacement, even though I am paying for insurance. I suggested putting in a claim for a missing device since technically, I haven't received it since they repaired it. However, they have not been helpful in facilitating this process.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Brightstar Device Protect. I would not recommend anyone to use their services, particularly through mail. They may be better in person, but I wouldn't risk the chance of this happening to you. I will be sticking to AppleCare moving forward.
Misleading Rogers Protection Plan and Unhelpful Brightstar Device Protect: A Disappointing Experience
I recently had an experience with Brightstar Device Protect, who administers the premium device Protection Plan for my Rogers account. After having the plan for two years, I found myself in need of a screen replacement. Despite the Rogers website stating that one of the benefits of the Premium Device Protection was same-day repair or replacement, the only option presented to me was mail-in replacement. As we are currently in a lockdown due to Covid in Ontario, I was hesitant to give up my phone for any length of time.
Brightstar then offered me an alternative: a same-day repair at a "Mobile Snap" location in Nepean, which was an hour and a half away from my home town of Kingston. They assured me that the repair could be done that same day and that they had the necessary screen in stock. I called the store as instructed, but they denied having my screen in stock and stated that they couldn't do the repair at that location. They asked me to leave the phone and that they would call me back, but I never received a call.
Over several business days, I contacted Brightstar multiple times, including speaking with their "Concierge / Ambassador." I also reached out to Rogers, but they were unable to help. Brightstar informed me that they did not deal with ubreakIfix for "my device," even though there were two locations in Kingston. The President of Rogers informed me that Brightstar said they never offered same-day/walk-in repairs to me, only mail-in. They claimed that our conversation about the same-day repair at the Mobile Snap never occurred.
Feeling very disappointed and unsatisfied with the Rogers Protection Plan which cost me $15 per month, I was offered a mere one-month service credit to appease the situation. In the end, I had to spend an additional $200 to get my screen replaced at the ubreakifix in Kingston, as I needed my phone's Google Authenticator to perform my job.
I am disappointed in how the Rogers Protection Plan was marketed to me; it was very misleading regarding what was provided. Furthermore, Brightstar's assistance proved futile despite many attempts to rectify the situation. At no point was I given a Claim Reference. Overall, I feel that the experience was below the standard I expected, and I would not recommend the service to anyone. If I could, I would give it zero stars.
Brightstar Device Protect Review: Frustrating and Disappointing Service
As someone who recently had an experience with Brightstar Device Protect (now known as LIKEWIZE), I have to say that I am thoroughly disappointed with their service. In September of 2021, I broke my phone and thought that I could easily replace it with Brightstar. However, my experience with them has been far from smooth.
The first call I made to them was met with the news that my account had been deactivated due to missing a few payments. However, upon further investigation, they realized that all my payments had been made and my account was still deactivated. To make matters worse, they then told me that I needed to pay $115 to reactivate my Protection Plan. When I went to the kiosk where I purchased the phone and plan, I was baffled to hear that I had a month to reactivate at no cost.
Since the beginning of September, every time I call Brightstar, I am told to call back in two or three days. The cycle continues and I am continuously told to wait another two days. This has been happening since September 7th and it is now October 8th. I have recorded all of my conversations with them to ensure my security.
I am appalled with the service that I have received from Brightstar and have to say that if it were possible, I wouldn't give them a single star. In fact, I would remove stars from other reviewers who have positively reviewed them. One representative even tried to justify the lack of positive reviews by saying that people aren't always complaining for the right reasons. When I called him out on this and told him that I had a legitimate complaint, he didn't know what to say.
As I am writing this review, I am currently on the phone with Brightstar and have been on hold for an hour and 36 minutes. I will continue to write new reviews for every call I make moving forward because this situation is getting out of hand. I will keep everyone posted on how this issue will end. Overall, my experience with Brightstar has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.
Disappointing Experience with Brightstar Device Protect's Replacement Phone & Customer Service
When I ordered a replacement phone from Brightstar Device Protect, I expected to receive it within one business day as their website suggests. However, it took several days for my phone to arrive. When I contacted their customer service, I was met with an unhelpful representative who claimed they never promised next day delivery. This was frustrating since my husband had received his replacement phone within one business day, twice.
Additionally, the terms and conditions stated that I would receive a brand new phone or one of equal value. However, the replacement phone I received was not new at all and had multiple issues. I attempted to insert my SIM card and SD card, but the phone fell apart. It was a complete disappointment to receive such a low quality phone, especially since I had paid extra for the insurance.
Furthermore, when I contacted the customer service representative about the issues, they treated me poorly and accused me of lying. It was a completely unprofessional experience and I felt as though they did not care about their customers.
In the end, I had to go out and purchase a brand new Boost Mobile phone from Walmart to avoid dealing with their subpar replacement phones. I would not recommend Brightstar Device Protect to anyone and plan on reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. It's clear that their focus is on making money rather than providing quality service to their customers.

Unfortunate Experience with Brightstar Device Protect: A Review
I had an unfortunate experience with Brightstar Device Protect and wanted to share my thoughts with potential customers. I had purchased a phone worth $1500 and decided to get insurance from Brightstar to protect my investment. However, when I needed to file a claim, I faced numerous obstacles.
Despite submitting the official lease agreement three times, the company continued to reject it, citing different reasons each time. The last customer service representative I spoke with informed me that I needed to upload an official lease agreement issued by the government. However, the form I had provided had been duly signed by both parties, making it a valid and authentic document.
In addition to the lease agreement, I also provided my driver's license as proof of my address. Despite providing all the necessary documentation, the company continued to give me the run-around, citing one issue or another.
While I had paid the insurance amount without any trouble whatsoever, the same could not be said about dealing with the company. I found the customer support to be very unhelpful and the entire experience was incredibly frustrating.
As someone who has invested significant funds in my phone, it was a stressful experience to lose it. However, dealing with Brightstar Device Protect only made things worse. Given my experience, I would not recommend getting insurance from them to anyone.
Likewize (formerly Brightstar) Phone Protection Plan Review: A Total Scam!
This company is the worst I've ever dealt with. They take my $7 every month and then charge me a whopping $175 plus tax to file a claim on a lost phone. And what do I get in return? A reconditioned phone that's locked to a network that's not even with my carrier! It's bad enough that I had to go through the grief and hassle of losing my phone and all the important stuff on it, but then I had to spend several days and hours going back and forth with my carrier and Apple after Likewize (formerly Brightstar) told me they couldn't help me in getting the phone unlocked. How convenient that they don't refund you your money. They believe that it's better business practices to not give you the choice of a refund and to send you another refurbished replacement phone that you have no guarantee will work when you get it or will not have any issues eventually. THEY DON'T CHECK THESE PHONES BEFORE THEY SEND THEM TO YOU!
I strongly advise you not to waste your money on these phone protection plans! If you're thinking of canceling your plan, don't bother filing a claim and spend your money on a new phone instead! It's just not worth the hassle and frustration. I hope this review helps someone out there avoid the same mistake I made.

Warning: Avoid Brightstar Device Protect for Phone Repairs - My Horrific Experience

Negative Experience with Brightstar Device Protect's Customer Service
I recently had an experience with Brightstar Device Protect and unfortunately it was not a positive one. When I received my new phone, the shipping label was incorrect which resulted in some confusion when I attempted to send it back. I received an email stating that I would need to pay $125.00 because they had not received my phone. This concerned me and I reached out to their customer service team who told me that someone would be in touch within two days. However, this did not happen, and I was left to follow up again. Unfortunately, I was provided with the same response.
After two months, I finally received my phone in the mail, but it had been held up due to an issue with the shipping label. I contacted Brightstar Device Protect again and was met with resistance. They seemed to suggest that the situation was my fault and there was nothing they could do, as it had been over 45 days since the initial issue. I couldn't believe it. I was not at fault for the shipping label error, yet I was left with the bill? It was frustrating and disheartening, as I had essentially paid for a phone replacement that should have been unnecessary.
Overall, I am very disappointed with my experience with Brightstar Device Protect. It was incredibly frustrating to have to deal with such an issue, and it felt like the customer service team were not willing to take any responsibility for the mistakes that happened. I would approach this company with caution if you are considering using them.
Unhappy with Brightstar Device Protect: A cautionary tale of fraudulent business practices and broken promises
I would like to share my experience with Brightstar Device Protect, a company I have been using for years for my device protection needs. Recently, I purchased a brand new iPhone in June and unfortunately, the back glass broke in August. I contacted the company and was informed that I had to pay $175.00 plus tax to get a replacement phone, which I took as a new phone, but to my dismay, I later found out that it was actually a refurbished phone which was not up to my expectations.
The refurbished phone I received was not functioning correctly, and despite charging it every day, I found that I still had to charge it frequently. Additionally, people I spoke to couldn't hear me unless I put the phone on speaker, which was highly frustrating. I contacted the company to report these issues and to my disappointment, I was offered nothing more than to send the phone back to them so that they could repair it. This was not a viable solution for me since the phone was my only means of communication.
I spent several minutes on hold hoping to speak with a supervisor, only to be disconnected from the call abruptly. I found this experience to be unacceptable, especially considering that I had been paying for Brightstar Device Protect services for years. In hindsight, I regret not just going to the Apple store to repair my phone since I feel like I was taken advantage of by this company.
I would caution anyone considering using Brightstar Device Protect to think twice. Based on my experience, I believe that they are not living up to their promises or expectations, and that they may be engaging in fraudulent business practices. I would advise anyone seeking device protection services to thoroughly research the company before signing up, so as not to fall victim to similar unpleasant surprises.
Brightstar Device Protect Review: Delayed Service and Lackluster Customer Support
Brightstar Device Protect is an insurance and protection service that offers coverage for electronic devices. Unfortunately, this company has not provided satisfactory services as it has led to several issues faced by the customers. One of the customers has reported that it took 5 days for the company to send their granddaughter's phone, which was already not in working condition. It is highly unacceptable that the company took another month to replace the defunct phone, causing inconvenience and frustration to the customer.
Another customer had an unfortunate incident where they dropped their phone in a lake. Despite the incident being covered under their policy, the customer has been waiting for 13 days to receive their phone. Due to the Holiday, there is a potential delay of another 5 days in the delivery of the phone. This kind of delay seems unreasonable and insensitive on the part of the company. Although the company claims that the claim was approved and the deductible paid, they have been asking for repetitive private information, which raises questions about the confidentiality of their process.
The customer suspects that the company is deliberately stalling and attempting to withhold their phone. It is an alarming situation for the customer to disclose their private information multiple times. It is also surprising that the company could not confirm the validity of the information provided. Such a careless approach can lead to data breaches, which could further deteriorate the company's reputation.
Additionally, the customer is concerned that they might receive a broken phone just like their granddaughter did. It can be frustrating for customers to pay for premium services and receive inferior quality products in return. Such issues may lead to an enormous loss of trust in the company.
In conclusion, Brightstar Device Protect seems to have failed in providing adequate support and customer service to its clients. Their incompetence and delayed processes have caused great inconvenience and frustration to many customers. Therefore, the company needs to prioritize its customer's satisfaction and improve its services and processes dramatically.
Brightstar Device Protect Claims Process: A Frustrating and Lengthy Experience
When it comes to device protection, we want to be able to rely on our chosen company to provide us with a hassle-free experience. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be the case with Brightstar Device Protect. Their website promises to offer coverage for all of life's "oops moments," but it seems that the company goes out of their way to make the claims process as difficult as possible.
One user shared their experience with Brightstar Device Protect, explaining that they had to endure countless administrative roadblocks just to get their claim approved. The user first reached out to Brightstar on February 28th for a broken screen on their device, but didn't receive approval for repairs until January 14th - a full 10 months later!
During this time, the user had to endure no less than 6 phone calls, multiple emails, and 3 requests for a supervisor. Each call seemed to be met with the same company line - "Your request is being reviewed. Try calling back in two to three business days." Instead of helpful support, every call back was met with another roadblock.
This user had been a loyal Rogers Wireless customer for over 15 years, but this experience has made them seriously consider switching to a different cellphone provider. It's understandable how frustrating it can be to deal with a company that doesn't seem to value their customers, and this user's review serves as a red flag to anyone considering Brightstar Device Protect for their device protection needs.
Disappointing Experience with Brightstar Device Protect - Do Not Recommend
My experience with Brightstar Device Protect has been quite frustrating and unpleasant. Though I acquired their services to protect my iPhone from unforeseen damages, when the time came for a claim, it turned out to be a daunting task. I had water damage on my iPhone, and I immediately filed a claim with Brightstar Protect. The claims process started, and I was asked to provide documents at each step. I diligently complied with their requests, and despite the documentation constantly being submitted (which took two days each time), I was told repeatedly that the next step would be the final one. This, however, turned out to be misleading because at every point, a new set of requirements were requested.
In the end, I was asked for some documents I didn't have, like car insurance, gas bill, trash bill, water bill, and cable bill, which I found bizarre because those were never mentioned before. I was then informed that my replacement phone couldn't be approved due to verification issues of my address, even though I had provided my driver's license, lease agreement, wireless, and internet bills as requested earlier.
The agents I spoke to on the phone were unhelpful, and despite my numerous pleas, they stuck to the company's script and reiterated the same course of action repeatedly. In retrospect, I felt like I was being gaslit, and it was extremely frustrating. In hindsight, I wouldn't recommend their services to anyone because I paid for a service that, in the end, proved to be a complete waste of my resources. It's indeed a ripoff!
Avoid Brightstar Device Protect for Mobile Device Protection Plan
If you're considering obtaining a protection plan for your mobile device, I urge you to avoid Brightstar Device Protect at all costs. I recently had to file a claim for my iPhone 11 Pro because the back glass had been shattered. Despite having paid into their protection plan for an undetermined amount of time, I was beyond disappointed to learn that they could not repair my device on the same day. Instead, I had to wait two weeks for the repairs to be made.
To add insult to injury, I was also informed that I would need to fork over $175 for the repairs, plus tax, on top of the $13 per month that I've been paying for coverage. Honestly, this was already an outrageous amount to ask for something that's already been paid for monthly, but I simply couldn't go that long without having a phone.
Opting to get a replacement phone, I was shocked when I was informed that the "refurbished" device I would be receiving cost me a whopping $452. Despite only having a crack in the back, I felt that there was no choice at that point.
After all this, I am now in the process of filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau, since I'm convinced that this company is being fraudulent and taking advantage of innocent customers. My experience with Brightstarprotect had been nothing short of a nightmare, and I'd advise anyone reading this to steer clear from this company.
In contrast, I'm not familiar with Apple Care, but I can confidently conclude that nothing can be worse than the subpar service and ludicrous fees of Brightstar Device Protect.
Warning: My Horrible Experience with Brightstar Device Protect Insurance!
I recently opted for phone insurance with Brightstar Device Protect and made four payments towards my premium. Unfortunately, I had to file a claim and was charged a $50 deductible to have my phone replaced. However, the refurbished phone that was sent to me had a line straight down the screen. Upon informing the team, they sent me another phone which crashed right after updating it.
As a result, I'm now stuck with a phone that I can't activate or use due to the aforementioned issues. This is highly frustrating, and I would caution others about using this service, as it has been an unpleasant experience so far. Despite my situation, the team refuses to replace my phone and is insisting that I still have phone insurance. I was also informed that I couldn't make two claims, which is absurd because it would still fall under the same claim due to the defective condition of the initial phone.
Upon researching the company online, I've noticed that they have a one-star rating on various platforms. If given the chance, I wouldn't rate them at all! I am completely disappointed in the service that I received and would caution anybody about utilizing this service. In my opinion, they are unscrupulous individuals who don't practice ethical business methods, and therefore don't deserve your patronage.
Brightstar Device Protect Review: Not Worth the Money and Causes More Trouble Than It's Worth
If you're considering enrolling in Brightstar Device Protect to protect your mobile device, you might want to think twice. Based on my experience, this service is not worth the money and may actually cause you a great deal of trouble.
Recently, I misplaced my phone and suspected that it had been stolen, so I decided to take advantage of Brightstar's replacement device option. I paid them $452.00 for a replacement device, but shortly after I received it, I found my original phone. This is where my troubles with Brightstar began.
When I tried to return the replacement device, I was given incomplete and incorrect information which led to my phone service being blocked by Brightstar. As it stands, it will be 20 days before my phone is unblocked and I am able to use it again. I am a business owner, and I depend on my phone service to stay connected with my clients. Being denied access to my business phone for 25 days has been a huge inconvenience and it's cost me valuable time and money.
What's even more frustrating is that I have been paying Brightstar $13.00 a month for protection for many years. Additionally, I have been a customer of Rogers for over 20 years, with a monthly bill of $400.00. Despite all this, Brightstar could not provide me with competent assistance, nor could they ensure that my phone service would not be interrupted.
All in all, my experience with Brightstar Device Protect has been unacceptable. Their service was a waste of money, time, and effort, and I would not recommend anyone enroll in it if they value their time and sanity.
Beware of $21.20 deductible and unfulfilled promises: My experience with Brightstar Device Protect from Boost Mobile
I recently had a less-than-satisfactory experience with Brightstar Device Protect, the phone insurance offered by Boost Mobile (brightstarprotect.com). While I did have the insurance to cover my phone, I was surprised to learn that there was a $21.20 deductible that I was required to pay. Despite this, I proceeded with the process of obtaining a replacement device and was told by a representative to reject the delivery when it arrived and to call back once I had a verified tracking number. I was promised a refund of my deductible once this was done.
As promised, I returned the replacement phone and contacted Brightstar to update them with my tracking information, but things didn't go as smoothly as I hoped. I was given a deadline to provide my deductible 'right away', which I did, but when the promised refund never arrived, I called again to follow up. I was informed that a gift card was being sent my way instead, but was not offered an explanation for the change in terms nor given any information about when I could expect to receive it.
My frustration was compounded by the fact that the representative I spoke to was dismissive of my concerns and refused to escalate my call. Overall, I was disappointed by the experience and would not recommend the Brightstar Device Protect insurance to anyone with a Boost Mobile phone. It comes across as just another sneaky way to take your money month-to-month with little guarantee of quality service or support.
