Is Opera Telecom Legit?

Opera Telecom earns a trustworthiness rating of 78%

Reliable, but always remember to protect your data.

Our conclusion: ComplaintsBoard's review suggests Opera Telecom is generally legitimate and safe for transactions. However, with a resolved complaints rating of 5% we recommend that you stay careful. Before interacting with Opera Telecom, take the time to review customer feedback and the approach to resolving complaints.

We found clear and detailed contact information for Opera Telecom. The company provides a physical address, phone number, and email, as well as 3 social media accounts. This demonstrates a commitment to customer service and transparency, which is a positive sign for building trust with customers.

Operatelecomgroup.com has a valid SSL certificate, which indicates that the website is secure and trustworthy. Look for the padlock icon in the browser and the "https" prefix in the URL to confirm that the website is using SSL.

Operatelecomgroup.com has been deemed safe to visit, as it is protected by a cloud-based cybersecurity solution that uses the Domain Name System (DNS) to help protect networks from online threats.

Operatelecomgroup.com you are considering visiting, which is associated with Opera Telecom, is very old. Longevity often suggests that a website has consistently provided valuable content, products, or services over the years and has maintained a stable user base and a sustained online presence. This could be an indication of a very positive reputation.

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

  • Opera Telecom's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. The support team lacks customer service skills, training, and resources, resulting in only 5% of 0 complaints being resolved.
  • Website's registrar is popular among scammers, it means that a significant number of scammers have used that registrar to register domain names for their fraudulent websites. This can indicate that the registrar has lax verification processes, making it easier for scammers to register domains without providing accurate information.
  • Operatelecomgroup.com has relatively low traffic compared to other websites, it could be due to a niche focus, but could also indicate a potential lack of traffic and popularity. The operatelecomgroup.com may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.
  • Opera Telecom protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.

Opera Telecom List of pics, content services charges

Dear Sirs,
I have seen this same complaint here - I have been charge 2 months running June and July 2020 for list of pics and have no idea what this service is for. I am extremely careful what I click on when on websites and do not enter my details into anything unless it is an official online purchase I am making. I have not asked for any services and have not authorised any deductions from my Vodacom account which I am watching carefully as due to COVID 19 Lockdown in our country we are having to watch our finances carefully as our industry has been seriously affected. I have managed to cancel the service and block it via Vodacom today but I need a refund as the total now stands at R427.21 which is a lot of money when your industry has been in lock down for 6 months now!
Please can someone get back to me - I have been told by Vodacom that it is not their responsibility but I am also pursuing the matter with their complaints department.

Many thanks
Mrs S Peters

Opera Telecom Unlawful subscription and billing of my account.

I do not have any recollection of my approval to subscribe to anything from Opera or Soby or other. They have been deducting ZAR 6.09 every day since 25/05/2020.

I have no idea what service they provide. Also, this is a business account, which I need to submit an itemised bill for every month - just to find a daily subscription to Opera Telecom Soby?

I have asked Vodacom SA to remove this subscription - awaiting their confirmation.

I need to find out how they did this without my knowledge.

Thanks,
Rob

Opera Telecom Texts

I noticed that my wife's "pay & go" phone account which is registered in my name with O2, was increasing virtually on a weekly basis.
I said nothing to her about it initially, but when I did we both realised that she was being scammed by Opera Telecom who were sending her "88101" unsolicited texts" at a cost of £1.25 per text at least twice weekly.
I am annoyed as to why a company would do this to two pensioners who share a phone and have virtually no disposable income. We got a mobile between us because we thought that it would be cheaper than having a home phone that would incur, rental and call charges.
The monthly texts are unlimited which is why we use it and we can contact everyone that we need to using this method, at a regular cost of £15.78.
For example this last bill 26May to 26 June had eight texts at a cost of £10.00. In total this year you have stolen from us £66.78 and that equates to around 51 of your unsolicited texts, they even go into last year 2019 as well.
I would like you to pay me back the money of £123.00 and this covers all of 2019 and from January 2020 up to and including June 2020.
I hope that you will see i am correct and that I need the money far, far more than you do.
Therefore, please do the right thing.
Kind Regards,
Mr. Ian Crawford

Opera Telecom Unwanted pay messages

I have been receiving paid text messages from the number 87070 for two months. I have not ordered anything and I have not signed any contract. Nowhere have I received information that SMS is payable, it was probably a false link. I believe this is a scam and it is not fair!.
I demand a refund of unlawful costs of 30 GPB, otherwise I will hear the case in all media available to me.

Opera Telecom Texts

I entered an ITV competition knowing the cost of the text charge. However since then I have received 8 texts from 88101 at £1.25 each which I have not authorised and have no relevance to me whatsoever. I only noticed 6 charges on my latest phone bill and when checking my latest bill there are another 2 charges. If you do not refund these charges to the cost £10 I will take this matter further.

Opera Telecom opera telecom

I have been charged £1.25 thirteen times throughout December for a premium text subscription that I have NEVER signed up to! 87070 it's coming from. Absolutely disgusted that companies can still get away with doing this! That's extra money I'm having to pay out over the Christmas period that I could really do without! All mobile phone network providers should be stopping this from happening to protect their users!

Opera Telecom mobile texts

For the past few months I have been getting charged for texts sent via opera telecom that I have never signed up to. It is costing £12 per month! and I can't find anyway to stop it.

I have contacted O2 but they can't help. I have blocked the number and i'm still getting charged.

I just want them to stop sending the messages so I don't get charged anymore.

This seems to be a common issue with this company.

Opera Telecom fraudulent charges on phone bill

I have also been billed £1.25 disguised as "VoiceMail" under the category of "Premium & information services" a number of times on my O2 bill. I contacted O2 and was informed that I needed to contact Opera Telecom or text stop to a premium number. I never subscribed for any service. Ironically O2 texted me details to contact Opera Telecom. When I called on that number, after pressing few more buttons and listening to few recordings, I was asked to record a message. I hung up, called again and tried to speak to a representative but no avail. Call just got disconnected.
This is quite alarming as the charges are shown as Voice Mail so you would either tend to ignore or come to address it really late (like myself).

Opera Telecom premium texts

I am disgusted to find that I have had multiple charges to my phone bill for texts that I did not agree to receive. Different messages about offers and even messages starting with "FreeMsg". I feel this is abusive to my privacy and causing me unnecessary stress to have to try and resolve this issue and worry about how my details are being used. This is not the first time I have had to contact my provider about this and when I send a stop text which I am also charged for I am getting texts from a different number.

Opera Telecom charges to my mobile account

I saw an advertisement on instagram which stated that it was from the zara clothing brand, upon clicking on this link I soon realised that this was not zara but a scam! I received a text from the number 88833 with an option to reply with stop in order for these messages to stop being sent as they are charged at £1.25 per message. I immediately sent a message back stating stop to this number but the message failed to be sent. I have now done this a total of 8 times always with the same reply. I have contacted o2 who have advised that they will look into this matter for me as there is nothing on my account to stop the messages being sent. I have blocked the number on my mobile account as soon as I realised that this was a scam but yet the messages are still being sent to my mobile and charges are still being applied. I need you to stop sending these messages as I have replied stop on 8 occasions. These charges need to be refunded to my mobile account with immediate effect. I have also contact ted o2 and they have advised that they will contact this company also on my behalf.
