Credit card fraud
My debit /credit card was compromised in March 2011. I could not figure out how because I only dealt with reputable companies online. I had put Buds Gun Shop in that good category until they sent me an email that my card may have been part of a fraud. They are not accepting credit cards as of 04/01/2011. My account had been wiped out and I assessed a lot of overdraft fees. I do not know what happened at Buds but, they are as radioactive as a Japanese Nuke Facility. They will not protect your account so, I would not shop there. You could take the risk but why.
Obfuscation, complete inadequacy in customer service
There seems to be an extreme lack of accountability to customers and no means or interest in assisting a customer after an order is finalized and paid for. Customer service personnel are incompetent and uninterested in resolving the delivery problems caused by the bizarre restrictions Bud's places on their shipper, UPS. When questioned, the always ANONYMOUS phone clerks can neither defend nor explain the bureaucratic mess that a shipment enters as it leaves their premises. Their website encourages use of chat and/or email to correspond "more efficiently" with customer service. This seems to be reinforced by a procedure of extremely long on-hold times, being disconnected immediately upon the phone being finally answered, being disconnected (or hung up on) before a call is fully concluded, and best of all; being disconnected exactly at 5:00 p.m., whether on hold or IN THE MIDDLE OF A CONVERSATION. A call back thereafter gets their inane recording and no means of reaching a live person. The countdown of where you are in the queue seemed like a cool idea, until I made it from "9th" to "next in line" in about 15 minutes, then remained "next" for 39 minutes. That's called "bogus". One more thing about calling in, the menu option at the beginning of the phone call to "enter your party's extension" is completely erroneous. The anonymous customer service clerks claim to have no extension for call back.
As for the functionality of their website, I wasted a lot of time trying to reach someone through the "Contact Us" page, wondering what I could be possibly doing wrong. Eventually I concluded that the page is just more window dressing to give the illusion that there is such a thing as customer service at Bud's. (All day today the chat function buttons had an "offline" status displayed.)
It seems Bud's is delighted to deal with customers to the point that they get their money. After that they would really rather not be bothered.

I really wish I would have read some of these complaints before I made my purchase with them! The extra $30-50 one might save there is NOT worth the big headache you will get after.
@stealthpilot - Can you read?
Hardest to get a hold of
I am so angry with buds gun shop.
They are the hardest to get a hold of. It is just inexcusable.
They have two service reps. One for existering orders and one for new. It is always possible to get a hold of the New Orders Rep. Never for the existing. NEVER
Try calling their phone number. I had to wait 90 Min and still didnt get to talk to a human being. My complaint isnt with bad service in getting a product, its what to do if there is a mess up. It is the worst operating system. If its as busy as they say they should expand otherwise they are gonna loose business. Im just saying take warn if you prefer to speak to a human and actually get responses
Yeah, I am gonna be filing with the BBB soon

Ripoff
I purchased a shotgun which required going to an authorized dealer in my community. I contacted the dealer and was told the processing charge was 30, when the gun arrived at Fulton County Firearms, they called and wanted $50. At this time, I am waiting to talk to Buds and see what can be done, but I will not be shaken down for another $20.00

This whole thread is absolutely hilarious! I can't stop reading it! Thanks for all the laughs! :)
Instead of being one of those idiots that buys on the Internet, you should support your local gun store and you won't have these problems. Blame yourself! People like you are ruining local businesses by always shopping on the Internet. They should charge you $1000.00 to bring a gun in. ###!
I will NEVER buy anything from Bud's Gun Shop! They are rude and abusive! I do not trust them. They are misleading.
Your complaint is with your local FFL transfer not with budsgunshop
FFL fees are charged by the guy you actually get your gun from whether it was sold by them to you or the fire arm was shipped to.
Your title is way unfair and should be the name of the FFL Dealer not the innocent guy since he has absolutely no control of the dealers business practices.
Rex you should how ever reprimand the dealer.
prfctlyfrank you need to complain to the dept. that issues FFL licenses about this honestly.
Thats stupid. It is stated clearly that you have to pay a FFL fee
i read all this crap on this forum and this place is nuts . i have been buying from buds for a long time and so have other people that i know we never had any thing but good stuff to say about buds. i think the people here work for other online gun shops .
and they call me mrgreedy
It's ok psuguy58...we get blamed for everything on this particular forum...whether we actually did anything wrong or not...as you see here once again.
If you called the FFL..and he told you $30 to do a transfer...and now he wants $50...then you do have a valid complaint...against him.
We can get the gun back and send to a different FFL for you..but the shipping will cost more than the $20...so I would push the guy for doing what he said he would do.
Fishy activity
An order was made online for a gun for christmas but the gun was not instock, and would not be received by the holiday so the order was cancelled. Buds Gun shop stated that nothing had been charged to the credit card. In the meantime, I get my statement that infact the full amount was charged to my card but no product was shipped or received. When contacting their store, they assured me the charge did not go through but in fact it did. I finally had to file the complaint with my credit card company, which takes 6-8 weeks to resolve. Now i have about a $500 charge on my card for something that i did not receive because they could not be honest and just refund the charge.
Same issue... I ordered a gun last friday Feb. 03 2012. Used a Buds gift card through a friend. Did the same last month when i bought a pistol from Buds. But this time Buds sales reps. Asked for authorization from my friend who bought the gift card. Never was
Asked last month when i purchased my handgun. The sales Rep. Went finished the transaction and gave me my order no. And said as soon as my friend called them up to authorize it will be ok to charge the GIFT CARD. I buddy was at work and got off late since we're on pacific standard time zone, it was too late for him to call Buds already was closed. Since i already have the order no. Went to Bass Pro las vegas to have my background check and FLL done. We both called monday FEB 06, him authorizing it i followed it up double checked i had the rifle reserved for me. Lady at buds said everything is ok and just tell Bass pro they will getting my Rifle soon. Even received an email from Buds saying payment was received and status was PENDING for Shipping i guessed! And when i double checked if there was any activity regarding my order later in the afternoon, only ONE order is SHOWING in my account. Tried to call the ORDER STATUS my order no. Is not found! I called early this morning same crap. They couldn't find my order no. And we checked the GIFT CARD balance, card wasn't even there... What happened BUDs? Where's my GIFT CARD? WHERE's my RIFLE? WHAT HAPPENED? Still waiting from a call back from your ACCOUNTING DEPT. WHEN?
Been there...same story! Took my money and have been told 3 times...4-5 days it will be returned to you. Got the same message again today. Called twice on the phone and left 2 email messages...NOTHING! No help at all. Used the on-line chat and was told, "sorry, there is nothing I can do for you". WHERE IS MY MONEY buds?
Impressive vocabulary you have there fornbloglod.
I have received no private message on this forum or any other communication from the original poster of this complaint. If the person who posted this complaint still has an issue I would appreciate knowing about it and also identifying the order in question so that I may look into this issue. Otherwise, I will assume this is just more false negative campaigns against us by a competitor or disgruntled person.
How can you look into a problem Rex, when you are too busy spinning your tales on here?
Freakin screwhead.
Your BBB rating is a bigger joke than your crappy company.
This guy had to go to his CC company and come on here because you KY jerks gave him the buzz off treatment. Now youre all customer satisfaction oriented, surprise surprise surprise, you freakin goober. Youre like Barney Fife, you shouldnt be trusted with a single bullet.
Did I mention Budsgunshop.com sucks?
If you could please contact Elaine in our accounting department we will definitely do whatever needs to be done to get this taken care of for you. You can call her directly at [protected] EXT 7503. I am not sure who you spoke to, but we would never knowingly keep someones funds for a canceled order...so obviously there is some mistake or miscommunication here. I would be glad to help you myself but your post does not provide me with enough information to look this transaction history up for you. If we did in fact make a mistake here...then we will not only correct it...we will also provide you with an additional $50 gift card to compensate you for your trouble. If you are able to pm me your transaction details on this forum then I will gladly look into this for you myself.
Rude service and deceptive business practices
Within a few hours of an online purchase and before they processed the transaction, I requested a cancellation of the model that I ordered and instead wanted another pistol model. I was told that they had to charge me an additional restocking fee (10%) on the first firearm before they would sell me the model that I wanted, even though they admitted that...

I asked Buds Gun Shop to sell me a gun legal for California, so that I could give it as a gift to a California resident. I used their online "request for product info" feature to ask about a specific model of a gun and if it was legal in CA. It was a "Warrior" model gun. They replied "Yes, the Warrior II is legal in CA". A bit confused, I searched their website for a "Warrior II" and found no such thing. Note that I was asking about a SPECIFIC MODEL, included the model number in the email, using a feature on their website, and they replied with a "Yes". Since they had given me an affirmative answer, I ordered the gun. I got the gun engraved and shipped it to my friend, but he was unable to take ownership because the model Buds Gun Shop sold me is illegal in CA.
I was very explicit in my needs and requirements and they ended up selling me something I can't use and now can't return. I wasted $1300 on a gun, $100 on engraving, and over $200 shipping the gun back and forth. Buds Gun Shop's reply to my complaint was to offer to sell me a Warrior II at cost. How generous - after screwing up my order and refusing to accept a return, they offer to sell me ANOTHER gun. I guess they think I am made of money. They of course deny misleading me in any way.
I would not recommend using them, especially if you have special requirements as I did. They obviously do not pay close attention to their customer's requests and, when they do make a mistake, they do not own up to it or accept responsibility. Be wary.
tried to purchase a 9mm from this place one month ago still no gun but they got there money or my money w abunch of crapp.
What really jacks my jaw is their so called VIP program, , , i have been a customer of Buds for 2 years, purchased rifles & pistols costing over $ 5000, , now they want to clip a customer like myself for another 24.95 anually, , , This is a insult to me, , , , since they started this so called VIP program, , , i have gone to other dealers for purchases, , maybe they will get the message, , So Long Buds
It's the buyers responsibility to check all local and state laws before making a purchase. I've made multiple purchases with Budsgunshop.com and have had nothing but good experiences with them.
I can see how that could have been messed up. Just a bad case of talking to that guy and ordering from this guy. very unfortunate indeed.
Sure you would have, screwhead.
We have investigated this issue from our end and have copies of the email exchange between the customer and our sales person to verify the information provided by our GM below.
This customer is not located in CA. He did exchange emails with Brad (salesperson) requesting product information if the Warrior was legal in CA. Brad responded that the Warrior II (not the Warrior) is legal in CA. This customer proceeded to make the purchase online. He placed the order online and did mention that the gun was a gift but made no mention in the comments of what state it was being shipped. Because we were shipping the gun to Colorado there was no reason for Brandon (order processor) to cancel the order. I spoke with the customer through email as well and I am the one that copied and pasted Brads response as well as the customers question back to the customer and informed him where the gun has been taken into possession and engraved there was not much that we could do. He ordered online and ordered the wrong gun. I offered to sell him a Warrior II at cost and did not hear back from the customer.
This unfortunate issue appears to be from a simple miscommunication. If it had not been for the engraving, we would have simply taken the gun back and provided the customer with a CA legal gun.
Product misrepresented
I recently purchased a $1022.00 pistol from this shop that was described on their site as including 3 20 round magazines, a standard oem package from the manufacturer. After picking it up from my dealer an getting it home, I found that they had sent a "California" kit with 3 10 round magazines. When I called and finally got a human on the phone (their system makes calling citibank seem fast), I was told that they only had the CA kit in stock, and could not swap the mags due to BATF regs. I'll point out that their lengthy hold loop states plainly that if an item is listed as in stock on the site, then it is in stock as they have "real time" inventory. When I pointed out that they sell the mags individually and could swap from that inventory, I was put on hold again, and then told that the manager was out of town, and would give me a call in a few days. That was over ten days ago. These magazines are about $100.00 to replace. I should have known better than to deal with Bud's, as they have flubbed my order before, and there are numerous complaints on their unscrupulous business practices. They've seen the last of my money.
I posted a review about my recent gun purchase. It posted the night before last that read very close to this………
Upon receipt of my XDM I had to send it back to the manufacturer to have the sights adjusted. It was shooting 4” low and left. SA is honoring their “point of aim” guarantee by footing the bill for overnight shipping to and from their facility, Virginia – Illinois, plus repairs. Buds took my money but I didn’t get the gun for 10 days total, 7 business days. I purchased online and the site showed
“in stock” and “viewable in Lexington” yet mine shipped from Shreveport, LA.
I tried calling Bud’s but it was all automated and I never got in touch with a
human. I may for my next purchase pay the extra $30 and buy from a local shop.
Ok, so it read very similar to that. No cursing or slander, just actual facts.
Well last night I went to show a friend my post and Buds has deleted it!
But wait…there’s more! They also deleted my account and blacklisted my email.
No joke! They did not contact me to discuss my review or anything. How’s that
for good business?
Possible fraud?
Ordered a taurus 845 that was advertised on budsgunshop.com as "factory new. " the pistol was promptly shipped, and was sent in its taurus box with all the proper papers and accessories. Upon receiving at my ffl i noticed the gun was quite dirty, with powder residue. The ffl agent immediately commented that he thought this was a used gun. I noticed the pistol also had a defective magazine release. Went home and took gun apart to examine closer. Noticed alot more smut and residue than should be in a "factory new" pistol that supposedly has only been test fired 12 times. Based on my experience this gun had several hundred rounds through it. Also noticed scrapes in the slide, divots in the metal in the slide rails. Went ahead and cleaned it, went to range and fired a few boxes of quality ammo. Had constant failures to feed. Called up taurus, the rep was helpful and informed me the gun had been sold by them to the gun dealer in 3 / 09. That meant this gun had been laying around? Used as a range gun? Used as a demo? For 8 months before i bought it. Taurus was very good about taking the gun back and are currently deciding to repair or just send me a new replacement. I cannot confirm, because there is no way to do so, but i strongly suspect this gun was used as a range gun or demo for 8 months, hastily wiped off and shipped to me as a "factory new" pistol. Based on this i would hesitate for anyone to buy a gun from budsgunshop.com if you cannot inspect it first. Unlike davidsons, buds does not offer a replacement guarantee, you have to use the manufacturers warranty. This means i will be without my "factory new" pistol until taurus takes care of it. Budsgunshop.com is highly suspect for selling used as new in my experience.
Yeah, right, Buds is so excellent you dont have to go further than this board to find 20 pages and growing complaints about them:
BudsGunShop.com — Unethical business practices
The verisimillitude between Budsgunshot and this internet thug story is uncanny.
~Arrested online merchant left trail of terrorized customers
An online merchant who allegedly terrorized his customers in an effort to boost his online search ranking was arrested and charged with mail fraud and wire fraud on Monday.
Vitaly Borker, 34, launched a "campaign of intimidation" on one customer, Clarabelle Rodriguez, who told her story to the New York Times' David Segal after authorities were not interested in helping her.
When Rodriguez tried to return a pair of glasses she bought at Borker's eyeglasses site, DecorMyEyes.com, Borker threatened to sexually assault her and sent her a photo of the front of her house. "I know your address. I'm one bridge over, " he told her, according to Rodriguez.
The feds' complaint against Borker shows he terrified other customers in a series of outrageously horrific emails and phone calls since 2007. He's accused of sending an email to one dissatisfied customer's work colleagues claiming that the customer was gay and involved in selling drugs. He allegedly told another customer "I know where you live, " called her a "cheap Jew" and threatened to rape her. He urged another customer to "Please drop dead" in an obscenity-laden email.
But when Rodriguez and many other traumatized customers complained online, Borker gloated that they were only making him more money. Borker told the Times that the customer complaints boosted his ranking on Google, since the site's search algorithm could not distinguish between positive and negative reviews.
According to the complaint against him, more than 200 of his customers have filed complaints with authorities. "I just wanted to let you guys know that the more replies you people post, the more business and the more hits and sales I get. My goal is NEGATIVE advertisement, " Borker posted on one site where customers had complained, according to the Times.
The Times' original reporting on Borker prompted Google to change its algorithm so that negative postings no longer boost a site's search ranking. (Jared Newman at PCWorld argues this will not prevent unscrupulous businesses from gaming the system.)
Borker is also accused of selling counterfeit glasses, making interstate threats, and cyberstalking. He was denied bail.
Do a basic google search, Buds questionable practices are all over the net, "Wolfghost" has me to thank for Buds clown crew damping down their redneck BS and trying to clean up their act, for showing the world what a bunch of feckless goobers they really are.
Screw Buds, you can get better prices and service finding a local FFL who will order stuff for you, I found a guy who gets whatever I want for 5% over wholesale. Buds sucks and their prices arent that great anyway.
Did I mention Budsgunshop.com sucks? And only a fool would take a chance using them?

http://forum.pafoa.org/general-2/34166-buds-gun-shop-page-5.html
Nice to see Team Buds employees and family members sticking up for the clowns. If you read this entire thread from page one the dissembling and animosity from Rex at Buds is crystal clear. Of course the average [censor] who thinks Buds is great could not fathom the nuance of getting a range/demo gun and not having the time to test fire/inspect it before signing the freaking transfer. They are the type of shiftless goobers who would get a cold steak at Outback and not complain because the waitress was cute. Christ, theres another guy who complained about getting a beat up broken gun on the other Buds complaint thread on this site, but he still gave them a glowing review on Buds site? Makes you wonder how busy their website editor is.
Mine is not the only legit complaint about Buds and their crappy customer service. Theres one 15 pages long and counting on this site that displays their nastiness in full glory. Google the KY clowns and you will see lots of complaints on yahoo and other sites about them, in particular shipping out guns that are not what was represented and telling people to stuff it when they complain.
Buds prices arent that great anyway, unless you live in the middle of nowhere there are much better deals through small FFL dealers. I found a dealer who can order anything for 5% over plus shipping.
Buds sucks PND.
IMHO!
PS: as a followup to the inevitable followups that will claim that Buds took care of the P DIDDY poster by quickly offering him a refund, well, dont you think the threads and complaints by me and others on this board and elsewhere are the proximate cause for their newfound CSR skills?
Too bad I had to go through the mud with these KY jerks so others can reap the benefit of them turning a new leaf.
Fool me once, shame on you...
Here is a guy with the same experience as me, which shoots Rex's clumsy excuses down. I had no reason to complain till "Team Buds" ignored me, then sent nasty emails. When I posted my experience on this forum they went nuts, like most people do when called out for their corrupt deeds.
Read this guys complaint on the parallel thread on here about Buds and decide for yourself what they are shipping to people.

I have also spent a few grand at buds within the last 6 months probably. I never did any research on them until today and stumbled across this huge thread. The reason I was checking out there feedback? I went to pick up a handgun I purchased from them and the "brand new" gun had brass shavings galore along with a decent sized portion of the finish chipped off the slide. I was pissed, so I called them immediately to see what they could do. They offered me a full refund/replacement on the spot which was great and the right thing to do. Not sure why they are shipping out "brand new" guns that have been shot and dropped but that's another story (and for the record, it was not the standard test fire brass. It was like 80 rounds brass w/o a cleaning).
Even aside from that, I didn't take the refund because these guys have been GREAT. Especially when it comes to shipping. I ordered this particular handgun Sunday night and was picking it up Tuesday morning. So I figured I'd give them the benefit of the doubt this one time.
After going through all the responses from "Team Buds" though, I have to say that I will never buy anything from them again. After all the great purchases I made it's sad to see what kind of person was really behind them. I expected a business man who respects his customers and their right to express their evaluation of, not only the gun they purchased, but the experience they had overall with Buds overall. I half relied on the customer reviews on their website when making my purchases. Now I know it was all just a bunch of edited, hyped up garbage. Too bad I didn't read this before I spent all that money :( "
BudsGunShop.com — Unethical business practices
"Boogers" is saying that my complaint isnt legit because Buds gun boxes dont have "BPS" stickers on them. DUH, Buds has been arguing with me for the last 5 months on this thread, doesnt that make you think they have admitted I am a unhappy customer? I have videotape and photos of the box, the gun, and the internal damage. Even Team Buds will not deny their stickers say "BPS."
BPS stands for Buds Police Supply, one more wrinkle in their shady corporate organization. Rex at Team Buds weaved a story on page 1 of this thread that would confuse the Mafia about the ownership of Buds and their various locations.
FACTS of the matter, Buds had my gun for over 7 months in their possession before selling it to me, and there is an indoor range at at least one of their locations. Read page 1 of this thread CAREFULLY. FACT is the gun had internal damage so bad that it could not even be repaired, it had to be replaced. Taurus did the right thing by me, but Buds did not.
Guns dont have odometers, but when you have one that arrives with internal damage and more powder residue than Dillingers machine gun, DO THE MATH.
I mistakenly assumed I was receiving an unused gun, signed paperwork at the FFL in a hurry and didnt field strip the gun before accepting it. Unlike Davidson's, Buds does not offer a lifetime replacement exchange warranty. Rex clearly stated on page 1 of this thread, once you sign the transfer, you are stuck with it, and you have to deal with the manufacturer. Fair enough. They got me.
Buds certainly has plenty of customers who get what they expected, and are happy. Then there are certainly customers who don't get what they expected, but don't bother to take their complaints public. Then there are customers like me who get screwed, and will not be intimidated by a bunch of chaw chewing bubbas who resort to pounding the Bible when caught lying.
Rex called me an idiot for accepting the gun, once I signed the FFL paperwork it was my problem.
Rex was right, I was an idiot for buying online from Budsgunshop.com. Fool me once, shame on you. There will be no second time.
IMHO and in my personal experience "Team Buds" is a lousy dishonest company. Their leader Rex started waving a Bible and quoting religious verse after his various incomprehensible stories fell apart, the sign of a true charlatan. On their site is a "review" of a Ruger P95, the guy said the gun didnt work at all, it was totally defective, but he still gave it 5 out of 5 stars!? Most likely another tampered "review" by Team Bud. The "factory new" gun they sold me was so worn out and tore up ( I suspect, but obviously cannot "prove" because guns dont have odometers, that it was used as a demo/range gun, it was in Buds possession for over 7 months before dumping it onto me) Taurus had to replace it with a complete new one, it was so unrepairable.
The people on here raving about Buds great service are probably his own flunky employees, trying to keep their jobs.
You are better off paying full retail at Bass Pro than buying anything from these creeps. Never seen a company run by such demented people they come online and threaten, harass, and try to intimidate their customers who have had problems with their questionable defective goods.
The word is spreading about Budsgunshop.com, keep gloating about how rich you are getting Pastor Rex, Jim Bakker was smug before his unravelling too!
What's ridiculous is you would admit an apparent ATF violation on this site, your quoted statement below,
"Another reason we do not open the guns is for our own internal control, we do not allow employee's in the processing and shipping areas to handle the guns. Issues such as missing magazines and other undesirable issues can occur when too many people get involved in handling the guns."
It is required under FFL rules to check each firearm physically and VERIFY its serial numbers, and that it is IN FACT the firearm being shipped out.
Quite impossible if you are doing business as you say.
Your previous statement about "boxes in...boxes out" is not only patently ridiculous, but would not allow proper FFL procedures.
Expect further scrutiny by the appropriate agencies.
An early apology and offer of remediation would have nipped this in the "bud."
You reap what you sow, a classic quote that all businesses should consider.
I will comment no further until all information is back from the appropriate agencies.
Team Buds and his minions, with all their conflicting attempts to deflect criticism, will not change the salient facts.
I ordered an item that was supposed to be "factory new."
I got an item that was used abused and nonfunctional.
The item in question was in Team Buds possession for 7 months.
What would be a reasonable conclusion?
My suspicions and reasonable conclusions stand.
Team Bud and their minions vitriol and online thuggery speaks to the nature of this organisation.
Once again, based on the hostile responses, personal attacks, and ever changing back story, decide for yourself,
is a company like this worth patronizing? Just to save a few bucks?
I regret that I did not google this company and see all the other negative reviews, on this site, yahoo, and others.
I would have been much better off, for this amount of displeasure and ill will, to pay the 75 extra dollars and get the item locally.
Learn from my mistake!
"Bob the Boogerhead's" name pretty much says it all, no further commentary needed.
"Synderrela" your complaint on here is about an obvious scam "rebate" that you feel ripped you off.
Unlike you, my purchase was for a specific item advertised in a certain condition.
Its highly amusing when somebody "whining" about an obvious scam feels compelled to interject in a more nuanced situation.
And someone with as many posts as yours on here advising people with legitimate complaints to "get a life."
Perhaps you should "get a life" and stick with dusting shelves, mopping floors, et cetera, whatever it is you do in your hovel.
Threatening bodily harm "Mica1755?"
Personal threats were expected from "Team Buds" and their sycophantic hangers on.
Of course, you might not like it when this board is subpoened for your IP.
Obviously "Team Buds" does not value their FFL license that terribly much.
Thanks for proving your are a liar.
In my belief there may be POSSIBLE fraud. My First Amendment right to relay my beliefs and observations are clearly established.
This is interstate and serious business.
Your veiled threats to provide documents related to my transaction with you are unequivacable and clearly stated.
I look forward to federal civil proceedings and the discovery process to get to the bottom of this.
Maybe you should spend less time on the internet trying to spin things and more time attending to business making things right. Ever hear the expression "the customer is always right?" Your business must be very slow if you have all day for this. Rightfully so.
"This guy gets the last word...as their is no end to the amount of false accusations that he can dream up...and leave me to defend...just a complete waste of time."
Well? Or are you a liar?
More lies and libel by Buds Gun Shop. They even lie about giving me the last word! There is no end to the lies and libel these characters will go to cover their shenanigans.
A reasonable person would read this sentence "...any concerns about THIS transaction, or any transaction, ...send those directly to me...I WILL GLADY SHARE WITH YOU DOCUMENTATION (NOT OPINIONS OR ASSUMPTIONS) TO EASE YOUR CONCERNS, WE HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE." and infer that you will release DOCUMENTS pertaining to MY transaction to anyone who asks.
That is the kind of dirty lowdown veiled intimidation tactics Buds Gun Shop uses to attempt to silence unhappy customers.
If you continue with your libelous statements, there will be repercussions. Liar, paranoid, idiot... you people seem to enjoy casting aspersions that you falsely claim you are victim of.
PS: another shady half truth you posted further above, "We do not have a shooting range at our store in Lexington, where your gun was inventoried and shipped from."
You neglected to mention there is a pistol range at your other Buds Gun Shop location. A pistol range where maybe demo guns are used, then brought to the other location to be sold online? Of course details like that are conveniently left out of your vicious diatribe.
Half truths, personal attacks, out and out lies.
Is this the kind of company that deserves to be patronized?
One can only speculate how many customers are like the other Taurus purchaser above, who had problems with a firearm but let Taurus handle it without even calling you. Or how many felt duped but were too embarrassed to air their frustrations.
Read all this and decide for yourself, google Buds Gun Shop, use due diligence, which unfortunately I did not do before using Buds Gun shop!
Just to be clear, Buds Gun Shop in the post above states he will provide my confidential FFL information to anyone who emails and asks for it. How many laws is this a violation of?
All potential Buds Gun Shop customers should be aware that your personal info is not safe with Buds Gun Shop, based on their own statements, reprinted below
"You started the name calling...I just made the mistake of lowering myself to your level. I am done, if anyone has any concerns about this transaction, or any transaction, related to www.budsgunshop.com then just send those directly to me at rex@budsgunshop.com
I will gladly share with you documentation (not opinions or assumptions) to ease your concerns, we have nothing to hide. We have a great group of people who take a lot of pride in what we do...and we (obvioulsy) wear our heart on our sleeve."
I am sure the shooting world will be glad to know that any customer you have problems with will have his personal info disseminated by Buds.
What's next Buds, personal threats?
I fully understand Buds did not build the pistol, and that Taurus will back it up. I never asked Buds for a refund, I asked if they would offer one, but had no intention of demanding my money back from them.
Perhaps if Buds had responded in a less hostile manner I would have been able to post how helpful they are.
I purchased a gun from them that has wear and fouling beyond test firing.
Buds proceeded to point fingers and call me names after my initial report.
Their conduct here indicates they are not trust worthy or reputable or professional IMHO.
I fully admit to being an idiot for buying a gun from this company.
Please do not be an idiot like me.
Like I said, real class act you guys are. If seeing this complaint got you so fired up you could have just said "wow, sorry you got a bad gun from us, we would be happy to refund your money, let us know whatever we can do, we want you to be happy."
You could have shown how you guys are above such antics, and how you defuse bad situations and make bad press good.
Nope. You turned your knob up to fullblown redneck denial bluster mode.
Glad you "checked" with one of your own staff, that is definitely proof positive things happened like you say. Right.
Once again, thanks for affirming my initial complaint about your company and your CSR skills.
Call me some more names, it looks good here on the internet for all the world to see.
PS: that supposed "email for all the world you see" above was never received by me, however, I did receive this one below from Rex:
"Go ahead and spread your experience (= lies and false accusations). I have the facts documented here at the office...and will gladly scan and email you anything you would care to see as far as the history on this gun...but you probably don't even care to see those...much more fun to make up b.s.
Who here advised you to buy that particular make and model Taurus ?...exactly, you picked the gun you wanted and we just shipped you exactly what you asked for...your beef is with Taurus and they will most likely make it right. We don't build, shoot, clean, etc. any of these guns...they come in boxes...they leave in boxes...what you like or dislike once you open the box is between you and Tuarus. If you don't like it...DON'T TAKE IT HOME !...then we are able to help you...full refund, exchange, etc.
I do know "damn well some people do transfers without being able to check everything out on site"...but you said...
/"I picked it up at 6pm when the pawn shop was
closing. Just looking at it the pawn shop owner who
has 20 years experience said "thats a used gun"
/WHOA...STOP RIGHT THERE ! Just refuse the transfer and all this stops right there...you get a full refund, new gun, different gun...completely YOUR CHOICE."
Based on Mr. Rex's email above, once you take it home all it's problems are yours. Therefore your comment that you do indeed have a full replacement warranty akin to Davidson's is contrary to what was posted in the above email. Keep em coming!
Say what you want, your own staff admitted that gun was kicking around in your store for the last 7 months. Thats an awful long time in a hot gun market. IMHO its entirely theoretcially possible that gun was a demo. Since you want to keep this discussion rolling, do you have a shooting range on site at your stores? Who has access to the guns in your store? What type of quality control procedures to you have in place for online sales? You guys have all the tact and customer service skills of a pit bull on meth. Keep attacking the customer, it shows what you would be like in person. Start returning calls and try to understand why somebody would be upset getting a beat up broken gun, before calling them out as idiots and liars. You guys are a real class act. Did you learn your CSR skills at Enron?
Buds responded to my email by saying, in effect, I am an idiot for accepting the gun in the first place. They then followed that condescending remark by saying they "make mistakes sometimes, " but since they feel "slandered" by the posts on here they have no sympathy for me at all. Of course, the fact they dont return phone calls and only respond defensively pointing fingers at everybody else (like they accuse me of doing) speaks volumes. Whereever the fault lies, Taurus, distributor, Buds, Buds was the last one in line who sold the firearm. I am just relaying my experience with this company. Keep hiding behind your "policies" but Buds knows that many transfers are done without being able to check a gun out. Falling back on their policy that you can not transfer the gun if you dont like it is as lame as what they accuse me of. Maybe if they picked up the phone and returned calls people in my unfortunate circmstance (getting a defective USED gun) would not vent on internet forums. Food for thought, Buds.
PS: I did try to call Buds gun shop the day I received it, got the voicemail shuffle, ended up leaving a message with somebodies voicemail, nobody called back. I did email them and they responded to that. Also, just to be perfectly clear, although this gun may not have ever been TRANSFERRED before, which would have made it TECHNICALLY used, it most certainly was USED, more than just test fired. By whom, when and where, well, thats where things get murky, right? Its just a crummy experience all the way around.
This gun was fired more than a couple times, more like in the hundreds, but my inference about Buds knowing it was used is retracted. Somewhere along the line this gun was used and abused, that is for sure. In the meantime my statement that unseen online purchases should be avoided stands, with no inference positive or negative towards Buds guns.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
The exact same thing happened to me It was a Taurus G3 it was heavily used I took video and pictures it was unmistakably used I called buds And they said contact Torres because it came directly from them I called Taurus they said it was not sent from them and was sent from the distributor they also said there were notes on the gun it had looked Like It had been dropped Rails were worn All the internal parts were worn as if it had been fired at least a couple 100 times Taurus sent me a new one I tried to let buds gun store know and they just got angry and made a bunch of silly excuses So at least you know it happened to other people it's not your imagination .
Worked at buds Gunshop and I would not buy any thing from them . The are all about the money and they will screw you ! Th problem that he had with the new /used gun is the way they work .it is not uncommon for them to do this . Stay away from buds !
I have an open order with Buds Gun Shop now. I wished I'd seen this before I ordered from there.
Rex, do you guys sell used range rifle 10/22s as new? I'm now afraid that's what I'll get, but even if the gun's perfect, I'll buy the rest of my guns from a different gun shop.
won a bid on buds $1 dollar no reserve auction on 6/14/18. won a ruger p 89 dc for $161. payment cleared on 6/18/18. no communication for a week. called on 6/25 hold on phone twice for 20 minutes each time. finally talked to person, he told me payment could take 5 work days to clear at buds, put gun should be shipping out tomorrow the 26th, ok, great. got email on the 27th, called, as requested, was told somehow gun was relisted to be auctioned off again. why would they not give me the gun first since I paid for it, and inform the second buyer what has happened. what I think happened is they were unhappy with the low price it was sold for to me and decided to come up with [censored] of a story, so they could resale it, matter of fact while I was on buds on the 20th I noticed another p89 up for auction price at that time 210.00
I used to buy guns from them. They were good. Low Price- ship free. Recently I have had nothing but problems from them. They got too big too fast-that is their reputation now. Their customer service is almost non-existent (they used to be quite helpful but not anymore). They offer to call you back but the return call never comes. Orders shipped to wrong address-even thought previous orders did arrive. One gun had the wrong color stock-even though the packing slip indicated the correct one. There have been other recent problems. The quality control has completely vanished.
As of result I closed my account with them. No more biz with Bud's.
Sincerly doubt Buds is to blame. Having dealt with Taurus myself on a few occasions, they are the obes most likely to blame. There quality control in, my opinion, is severely lacking. Budsgunshop.com on the other hand is very well received in the gun world. One of the last few business willing to do layaway with guns in an unaure economic time. I sincerly hope they showed you the error of your ways.
Slandering based on unsubstantiated claims and allegations back up with no evidence is wrong. Did you have it inspected by a gunsmith to give some kid of expert advise to condition? Just because a gun was sold 9 montha prior to a seller from a manufacorer is in no way indicitive of being used. Like most merchabdise they sit in a shelf or warehouse untill purchased.
What you probably recieved was a remanufactured firearm in some way, from Taurus, not Buds. Personally I would and will do bussines with buds. In fact from there post here, I am looking forward to it.
I've bought dozens of times from Buds, dozens. This is redicilous, seriously it's illegal, you aware of the regulations in this industry? You think they would risk their FFL license to pass off a used gun as new to make an extra $30 from you? Also if it was so obviously "used", you should have noticed it at pickup - they make it VERY clear to INSPECT & NOT to accept a gun when you pick it up if you aren't happy with it.
I totally agree with this complaint. Reason? The customer was treated VERY unprofessionally just like I was! I had a run in with probably this same "HOT HEAD" representative of budsgunshop. I should have sued them for FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.
Here is what they done to me >>>> I was new to buying firearms and they had a Taurus 380 for 179.00 so I ordered 2 of them. I was leary of the great price but had spoken to them by email several times about my order and had referred to my order as being a "gun" several times. Well it turned out that what i ordered was a crimson trace laser not a pistol w/crimson trace! Never mentioned anywhere! Not in the ad nor in the emails after i mentioned gun, gun, gun! Here is the thing>>>>> They used a NORMAL pic of the taurus 380 with a laser on it. The ad read, "TAURUS .38 TCP CRIMSON TRACE." >>> NOWHERE on the ad did it say "GUN NOT INCLUDED" or this ad is only for the crimson trace NOT the gun. aT THE TIME WITH ME BEING A ROOKIE i JUST THOUGHT THAT WAS THE NAME OF THE GUN! But when I talked to that HOT HEAD, he could have cared less that i did not even know what a crimson trace was! I seriously thought it was the name of the gun.
Anyway, it was not my fault as it had been falsely advertised by showing the "real" gun in all the pics. Not a blue fake gun to just demonstrate the laser.(GUN IN PIC NOT INCLUDED!) iT IS AN OLD MANIPULATION TRICK! Designed to take advantage of knew people in the firearms business. So yes I was an ameteur, but this guy flew into me like he hated me and told me to NEVER shop his site again! That is exactly what I done too! I worked in retail for 28 yrs and I know what "false advertisement " will get ya! SUED! If we ever made a print error and a customer caught it before we did we had to bite the bullet so to speak and make that customer happy! That is the way you run a successful business! Seeing that I was not the only one treated bad by this co., it surprises me that they are still in business. I hope they get what's coming to them in the end! Good riddance BUDS! BUYER BEWARE!------- All of that said, yes it ruined my wife's b-day present, but had he been understanding and handled it in a civil manor, he would have possibly retained me as a repeat customer. I have since purchased several more guns of course from other sellers. But hey, that HOT HEAD could care less, I am sure!
Holy [censored] guys. Draw a ring in the dirt, fight it out, shake hands and go have a beer. Chalk this up to lessons learned on both sides. Customer should rigorously inspect the firearm before accepting transfer, and Bud's could possibly have a weak link in the employee chain that needs to be fixed.
Idk how many times I go to buds Gun shop to browse around. Been looking at the diamondback fs9 mainly I own the db380 gen 2, flawless after polishing the feed ramp. But buds is correct manufacturers don't send firearms to the stores directly there is always a middle man my buddy gets sponsored guns from there and they are reputable and have a high customer service rating. I see their firearms on gunbroker.com and they fly off the website. If they was a fraud do you think they would fly off the gunbroker website? Anyways everything has a paper trail. Technically if the gun looked worn and used you should've never accepted the transfer I own about 39 firearms out of 49. Yes I had 10 come to me in a used condition I was smart enough to tell my ffl I wasn't accepting a dirty firearm so I had him send them back and with a hand written letter from me why I denied the transfer. I got a full refund all 10 times! I agree with buds Gun shop on the return policy I'm a member of their website. If you actually read the policies before purchasing you wouldn't have been stuck with it, thats not buds fault. Kinda sounds like your a first time owner. Next time read all the policies before purchasing.
Unethical business practices
I have spent thousands of dollars at this website and I had recently purchased an optic item (BARSKA AC10332 RED DOT 50MM RED 5MOA). After using this item once it broke. On the website the buyer has the ability to rate the product and leave messages for other buyers. Before I had bought this product there was only one review and it was a good one, so I bought it. After it broke I went back and gave it one star and a bad review (without being nasty). The next day my review had been deleted. I posted it again. Again it was deleted. This happened everyday for 5 days. Today I logged in and saw that my post had been deleted and Budsguns had created someone with my same name and gave the product a good review! I tried to log in but they discontinued my account so I could not! I think this shows an extreme lack of business integrity and only serves to trick the buyers into buying this cheaply made product. Not only did they delete my bad reviews and account, but now they are posing as me and posting good reviews (and they locked me out so I can’t do anything about it).
I suggest that all of you that have complaints contact the Kentucky Better Business Bureau. I did. The number to the BBB of Kentucky is [protected]. Once you call enter the number for Buds [protected]). Buds is a member of the BBB, and the BBB needs to see this pattern that isn’t being reported. Otherwise Buds will continue with their deceptive unethical business practices.
LucasWestscott,
Why dont you read the complaint again and tell me where you see I want something discounted or free. You obviously did not read the thread before you commented with your expert pro-tips of the day. When you decide to read it all you will find is me stating all I wanted was to take advantage of a Buds product reviews and notify any potential buyers of the problem I had with the scope and I was censored in doing so...
Jon from Massachusetts,
Nobody here is complaining about Bud's price, shipping, or email progress communication...I have already stated before that everything involved with the execution of the transaction...Not to sure how your post is relevant to the complaint this thread is about.
jayarbee,
I will "give up the fight" as soon as I am able to repost my original review of the product that was deleted and replaced with a fake review in my name. In Bud’s credit, they have taken steps towards this by contacting me and reinstating my account so I can post up my review. The only problem is that the scope is currently not on the website. Once it is I will repost my review and put this behind me, that is all I wanted all along.
Whether it is one instance or practiced everyday should not make a difference...the fact is that this happened at least once, and should have been taken seriously from the very beginning...you should have taken a look at my order history and said "wow something really happened to this guy, our good customer who has spent thousands, something really piss him off and go to the Kentucky BBB (even though he lives in SC) and wow he is even complaining on a forum and yahoo review, and even creating his own website to tell his story". I mean do you not understand why it has come to this? Regardless of how many transactions you have completed successfully or what kind of rating you have does not matter... like I said before I have had a great history with you guys but it just took one for it to ruin everything, that’s all it takes...and maybe an apology and conformation that this really happened to me "a one isolated case" was all I needed in the very beginning of all this...but that is not how you guys approached it, and then it became much more personal.
It would have been a couple days before the other one was posted in my name (which was on Thursday April 30 2009 according to the screenshot). I was unable to take a screenshot of my previous product reviews before they were deleted.
I still have the same phone # ending in 4714, and nobody by the name of Harry should be answering my cell…not sure if you entered in the correct area code (which I would not want to disclose on here). I know you guys have the right number b/c you have called it before I was deleted off your customer list to let me know a Night Vision Scope I ordered was no longer in stock and to ask me if another would suffice.
All I wanted in the beginning of all this was this occurrence to be researched and dealt with...not deleted as a customer and then silenced. As you can see in my history of orders with you guys, I was a good customer that used you for alot of business, and also was spreading the good word about you guys until this happened. Obviously something happened to me or I would not be wasting my time here over a $19 scope...the reason why I have made this my crusade is because I was raised to understand and practice honor and integrity, and not to back down in the face of others who care to pull blinds over the eyes of the unassuming consumer. Whoever is on the other end of these Buds responses might not have been the "one" that has done all of these things I have described, but I fully believe that there should have been more research on the companies side of things before coming on here and attacking me for what I know is truth.
And no I have not heard of this happening on your website before, that is why I continually bought from you guys…but I know it happened to me by someone on your team whether it by contractor or direct employee.
Sure, I acknowledge that there are other negative reviews that are worth hundreds more than $19…but you would probably only carry 5-10 $5000 items. I am sure that you bought bulk numbers of this scope which would easily be a high number in cost.
So as far as an explanation all I can do is speculate since I don’t sit in on your Bud’s Board meetings….
Assuming that you bought a 1000 Barska scopes, let just say at $19 a unit (which I am assuming you would have to by a large number to have a lower price) that roughly comes out to $19, 000. I also noticed that it is a featured item…I believe it was featured as the second item for sale on your website, so obviously you guys wanted to sale these scopes (especially since you just bought 1000)…but then some guy (Benjamin P) comes and reviews the product as poor and as “breaking after one shot of a SIG556” (1 star out of 5), then how in the world would you sell the rest of these scopes and who in there right mine would buy something that breaks after one shot? So to keep this baby selling for the low price of $19, you delete my review that I post on your site over and over until finally you or your IT realize that I will just keep on posting it for the World to see even though you keep on deleting it…and then you finally lock me out of my account and post a fake review under my name the same day you lock me out of my account…I mean how else would you make your money back for these scopes if you didn’t do this?
So like I said that is my explanation but I have no idea what you guy’s exact motives are…all I know are the FACTS (in timeline order)…
-I bought a BARSKA AC10332 RED DOT 50MM RED 5MOA to put on my SIG556 b/c of all of the positive reviews under the product on the Bud’s website
-I got the scope in a timely fashion in the mail
-I took it to the range and after one shot the glass came loose in the inside of the scope
-I decided, well that’s what I get for buying a $19 scope, I should have expected that
-I went back on to the Buds website to write a review that read…”Broke after one shot on my SIG556” 1 star out of 5
-The next day I log on my review is gone…I repost the same thing
-Next day log in to my account and the review is gone, I repost again and add that “my review keeps on getting deleted for some reason, and I will keep on reposting every day that it is deleted”
-Next day website wont let me log into my account and states “Your account has been permanently de-activated by the webmaster”. I then go to the main page and check for my previous review and in its place is a review under my name (Benjamin P.) that states, “Wow, what a great deal on a name brand optic. I could not be happier with my purchase and Buds service!”
-I then contact the BBB of Kentucky and report this incident
FYI the screenshots still won’t post so I am going to have my IT guy create a website and post the link either today or tomorrow…
Sorry guys the screenshots arent coming up b/c I can only view them myself b/c I have back end access admin rights blah blah blah...lol no I will have to upload the screenshots from my home computer tonight b/c this work laptop is a piece of trash and times out, or it could b/c the website doesnt except GIF format, anyways I will see if I can figure it out and post these screenshots later tonight
Haha...you can only view it now b/c "I can view all the product reviews in the back end of the website under admin". I knew you would come up with some BS...and I knew you guys would quickly takedown the reviews as soon as I posted this, that is why I took screenshots of it the other day before I posted and you had a chance to say the product was no longer in stock...yet again I am posting proof by screenshot? What do you have to prove my "erroneous accusations"? Sorry guys the next couple of post will only be screenshots showing what I previously stated...First I will repost the original FAKE review under my name "Benjamin P." that they have now deleted to cover their ### b/c of my previous post...you can look at Bud’s BS with your own eyes…
Wow Buds! It’s been awhile since I’ve last posted, but I wanted you to lie and contradict yourself enough times before I brought even more evidence and truth to the table for these potential customers to see. So far I have provided evidence to my so called “erroneous lies” and potential customers are smart enough to do their own research before buying. So yet again I will solidify my “erroneous lies” with proof of your deceptive practices…To do this I will copy and paste your own responses throughout this forum…
Bud’s state:
“I asked our IT staff about this issue two days ago. We now have over 240, 000 registered customers. 524 of those customers have the same first name as bencit (Benjamin, who started this post). Of those 524 Benjamin's...18 have a last name that starts with the letter P (same as bencit). So, since the screen shot he posted just says Benjamin P...how does he even know it was him and not one of the 17 other Benjamin P's that left the positive review. We sold over 1, 200 of those little $19 Barska units, and I do know for a fact that one order (he actually ordered 2 on one order) of those purchases was made by a Benjamin P in Salem, OR...which is NOT the Benjamin P (bencit) who wrote this post.”
So you claim the screenshot of the reviewer Benjamin P. April 30 2009, is a Benjamin P. of Salem, and by chance Benjamin P. of Salem posted a good review of the same Barska scope the same day my poor review of your product was deleted and locked out of my account.
OK let’s give Buds the benefit of the doubt…
Then Bud’s states:
“This persons negative post here is as unreasonable and false as their original post on our website. Nobody used this persons name to post a positive comment on our website, we only edited his post to remove uneccessarily harsh language, we did not change the scope or the actual rating value of the original post.”
So you are stating that you did edit my post? If so where this is edited post of mine that you fixed the harsh language…and as a matter of fact where is Benjamin P. of Salem’s post? Why is it no longer there? Why would you delete a post of a great product review? The fact is that you deleted the false review the minute the BBB contacted you about this matter so you wouldn’t get caught altering reviews, only problem is I took screenshot first before you deleted the evidence (which can be found on the first page). I took screenshot of all current reviews of the BARSKA AC10332 RED DOT 50MM RED 5MOA that you have on your site today and will post them if need be, but anyone can check themselves and see that this so called Benjamin P. of Salem review has been deleted (and has been since the beginning of my complaint. So for the forum audience here and all the potential buyers go ahead and lets here the new BS lie you can come up with for deleting a good review that is supposedly Benjamin P of Salem…or would you say now that you have deleted 2 Benjamin P. accounts on the same product out of the 6 people you have deleted accounts for?
SO if it is this Benjamin P in Salem why would you lock me out of the account the same day the supposed Benjamin P from Salem posted the great review for you and the product...man how low will you guys stoop? OK...lets assume it was Benjamin P on Salem who happened to have a raving review of the $19 product on the same day my poor comment was deleted and you locked me out of my account so I could no longer post...Why the heck would I be on here wasting my day telling my story if this never happened? I am glad you guys keep on posting your sorry lies and excuses for other potential consumers to see...you guys are digging your own grave.
Buds,
Are you just choosing to not look at the screenshots of your team altering the review in my name and logging me out?
...you keep on saying "why would we" and that is the same thing I ask...its a fact that you did, so go to the person that did it in your team and ask them if you dont know... I would also like to know why you would alter a poor review for a $19 product and then lock the customer out so they cant change the false review in their name.
-Geoff S
I agree with you that we are lucky to have gun stores left...but no matter how much I love guns or talking about them I can’t let that get in the way of exposing a company that enjoys censoring its customers and their reviews to deceive the rest in order to get more money...I mean is that what we are left with in this country? If you were in my shoes would you really be saying, well at least there is someone still selling guns in this country?
Like I said before, I already have declared mission accomplished...I stated that if buds didn’t get just one customer not buying from them b/c of my complaint, then it would be a victory for me...Many more than one person on this post already stated that they were considering buying from buds but now will not b/c of my complaint. The great thing about this is that this they can’t censor me here or delete my complaint from this website.
-drtdevil!
No its not "basically" what I accused buds of...If I did what to you what Bud's did to me I would deleted your post, rewrite a new one in your name that states I have the best complaint forum out of all the complaints, and then lock you out of the forum so you couldn't post anymore.
As I stated in my last two post to you...I am sure you are affiliated with buds. Who else in their right mind could look at the screenshots I provided on the first page of buds altering my review, altering it in my name, and then lock me out of my account so I cant do anything about it, and then still think buds hasn’t done anything wrong.
-drtdevil
So essentially by posting on my complaint you are stating to buds this...
"Hey Bud's keep on deleting peoples reviews and alter them to make your business more successful. Make sure you lock them out of their accounts so they can’t communicate what you are doing on their reviews. Most buyers out there won’t catch your unethical business practices. I've been conducting business like this for 41 years. If I took the time to run a legitimate business I could have retired 20 years ago! LOL
Like I said before I am sure you are affiliated with buds...who in there right mind could look at the screenshots I provided of them altering my review, altering it in my name, and then lock me out of my account so I cant do anything about it, and then still think buds hasn’t done anything wrong.
You never caught anyone? There are screenshots of what happened at the beginning of this post...why are you just now mentioning your IT guys might have altered my review? I assume they are also considered "Team Buds"? Even if it was you IT guys you are still in the wrong! From the beginning you should have questioned why a great paying customer suddenly got pissed off...If it was your IT guy that did it why haven’t you investigated the possibility? Instead of investigating this possibility at the beginning you immediately attacked me as a liar with nothing better to do then bring down your company...nice
-Geoff S,
I have already posted this but I will again for you...It wasn’t about the broken scope. What ticked me off was that my voice was silenced by someone and altered in a deceptive fashion...If you want more info read through the post. Apparently all of the threatening comments you are reading about happened on another Bud’s complaint from another unhappy customer
So Bud's Team, you have never commented on the screenshots of you manipulating the review and posting a fake one under my name...just as you failed to comment on it to the BBB according to their report back to me.
By the way I think you are confusing two different posters...Even though my last name also starts with a P I am not Mr. Petrasek who hasn’t posted in since the previous page...
Well my mission is accomplished, and it will continue to do so the more Bud’s post on my complaint. I said I would be happy if just one customer that was going to buy from Bud’s decided not to due to reading my complaint. Essentially they turned their deception practices of manipulating comments for a minuscule $19 red dot scope, into a potential thousand of dollars lost of other customer business that read my complaint and their responses.
Gunrunner...you state that you have done business with Buds over the past 6 years...what made you think to come onto a complaintsboard.com forum 6 years later, search for Buds, and then leave a comment that has nothing to do with the complaint?
Don’t you find it odd that the last two post were both from individuals that lived in Kentucky (Where Buds resides) and both comments were within 7 minutes of each other?
Again a good of example of Bud’s deceptive practices…
Gunrunner-
You are one of two things…someone who just posted on a complaint who didn’t take the time to read the story (my complaint had nothing to do with a gun or gun prices)…or you are quite possibly someone who is affiliated with Bud’s itself and are trying to throw people off of the original complaint…
Drtdevil-
Same with you…your comment reminds me a lot like the fake comment that was posted in my name by Bud’s
“Wow, what a great deal on a name brand optic. I could not be happier with my purchase and Buds Service!
My dispute wasn't with the red dot scope...I was going to deal with the loss of $19. My dispute came about when they decided to deceive the other potential buyers by deleting my comment and replacing it with a fake good review. I was planning to buy again from Buds (even though the scope broke), but once they choose to censor and silence their customer I decided to call it quits and share my story. Most of what you are seeing on this post is many other unhappy customers with their stories posted on my red dot scope complaint.
Here is the screenshot showing that they locked me out of my account so I couldn't alter the good review they put in my name. In Bud's statement above you will read "Nobody used this person name to post a positive comment on our website"...I have never in my life experienced or seen this level of deception within a business. Bud's states above states that I am just trying to hurt their business...In the past I used them in a number of transactions, including a high end 1911, a Sig P220, and night vision. Why would I want to attack their business b/c a $20 cheap scope broke? (I didn't even care to get a replacement b/c it wasn't worth the hassle) I only posted a review that stated that it broke after the first shot on my Sig556. Only once they began deleting my reviews did it become an issue with Buds, and I contacted the BBB immediately after they put up the good review in my name. Just to put this in perspective to this day Bud's is the only business I have ever reported to the BBB in any state. If this post just causes one person not to buy from Bud's I will be happy and put this behind me..
Here is the first screenshot of them acting like they are me giving this product a good review...The Kentucky BBB relayed to me that Bud's failed to comment on the fact that they deleted my account and inserted a false review in my name...
Here is what Buds say are my erroroneus accusations...little did they know that I took screenshots of what they were doing. I will post my screenshots showing them deleting me out of my accound, deleting my poor review of the product, and then writing a good review in my name...
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Buds response is truly unbelievable. Whoever the clown is who's rebutting these claims needs to be dismissed immediately. I have a history of one successful purchase from Buds, but it will be my last simply based on this idiot's rants. Methinks he doth protest too much.
Wow! Again, Wow. Just the fact there was sooooo much churn on this site for a 4+year period; I will not purchase anything from Buds. I am about to make my first handgun purchase and have been looking around at a lot of sites and Bud's was looking pretty good...until I read their replies in this thread. I don't know if anything said by anyone here is true or false, but the responses from Bud's alone are enough for me to take my money somewhere else. Too bad, too, as the prices at Bud's looked darned good to me. However, I will take my chances elsewhere.
I think Bud's could learn from Nordstrom, Chick-Fil-A, and L.L. Bean. Their customer's love them!
Glad I found all this.
Read through every page.
Can't believe how Bud's views it's customers and potential customers.
I've been looking at this site for a long time and pricing out firearms to order and am happy to have found this site.
They ain't gettin my loot ever!
They remind me of someone I'd want to kick in the face if I met in person with the arrogance of ' screw you we have this many customers right now'.
Well it sounds like not all of these customers were all that happy with them.
All that wasted time on the site... least I didn't put my money into the hands of someone like Buds...
Was looking for a 38 special as a birthday present for my wife. WOW! Buds Gun shop will never get my buisness. A very short and simple apology and a statement that the posting change was a bad decision would have caused me to consider using BGS. Not now not ever.
I have purchased three guns from Buds and after a good experience on the first, went ahead and ordered a second. After not receiving the gun, I called and found that it had been sold to someone else and Beretta would be getting them another. It took two weeks and several $35.00 gift cards to appease me and get my gun. I decided to purchase another gun on layaway after talking to a sales rep who assured me that if the price dropped they would ensure I got the new price. After 60 days I went to get my gun out of layaway and discovered the price had dropped by well over $100.00. When I called they rudely said the price guarantee is only for 30 days and would not work with me and told me on at least 4 occasions that they have thousands of orders to fill and could care less if I ever buy another gun from them...so be it. You have been warned...
Bud's follows no code of ethics. They ignore people looking to return defective products. I emailed them 6 days ago about a defective gun they sold me and still haven't gotten a response. When the guy working at the local FFL retrieved my gun he pointed out that it was shipped in a bad without any protection and the magazine in the weld. Bud's says once a customer accepts a firearm they will not refund the purchase money, but with my problem I would not have been able to find my guns defect merely by visually inspecting it. The defect is that when the mag has rounds in it, it will not stay in the weld. it pushes itself back out. I also bought 200 rounds to shoot and they were mailed to the wrong address. UPS said they tried to get a correct address from Bud's and couldn't so they returned them. Bud's never called or emailed me about the address problem, and by the time I found out about it the 200 rounds had been returned to Bud's. Rather than eat the 9 dollars it would have cost to send them to me, the female operator offered me a refund, minus 10 percent. The refund was issued and allegedly mailed on march first, and here we are 12 days later, and I still don't have a refund. I have never been so ashamed to have trusted a gun dealer. They really take advantage of people without remorse. PLEASE BUY FROM ANOTHER DEALER.
I too have problems with Buds Gun Shop dishonest business practice.I dont have alot of money to put pay for most guns in full.So last year long befor the buying frenzie started I put a gun I wanted in Layaway.I put my 10% down, the gun was shown in stock and I assumes Buds would pull one from stock and put it in a layaway ben with my name on it.WRONG! this is why Buds wont give you a ser.# on you layaway gun.I have bought 14-16 guns over the years from dealers all over the country that had layaway programs and every single one of them gave me a ser.# on my gun they pulled from stock for me.Buds gives you 90 day to pay it off which I did well within that time frame.I called to made the last payment over the phone with my debit card so I could get it own the way then low and behold Buds didnt have my gun I put in layaway and had been paying my hard earned money for almost 3 mos.Well it showed IN STOCK when I put my money down. All I got from the person on the phone after being on hold for 10 mins was a bunch of babble."well we dont have it" well we can have you one in a couple of weeks" and on and on BS.What they did is take my money and put it in their bank to have use of it while they were selling out all of the invertory of the gun I put in layaway to people who could pay in full for them. The is dishonest if I ever saw such a thing. If they are going to run a layaway program then thay have a moral and legal obligation to pull the item from stock, put you name on it, send you the ser.# and dont sell it to anyone else till it goes 90 days.If they cant do that then they need to do away with the layaway program.Their are lots of dealers on line with layaway that do honest business and want return customers.Looking at the number of complaints on Buds ethics and honest anit in their business model.
WOW. I recently made my first purchase with Buds, and did not have any issues. However, I cant side with a company who even with the smallest complaint replies with such rudeness and no compassion for the people who have kept them in business for the 20 out of 41 years. I am taken back by there replies. I cant imagine that a business owner would ever think that the customer is not always right. Maybe they are not, but you dont let them know that. I would rather have 20 bad customers than none at all. these posts will keep me from becoming a loyal customer because I dont want the headache. Too many other stores that actually appreciate peoples business.
Bought a Tactical Mini 14 Form them got a Ranch Rifle instead Told me they would send my gun dealer a Shipping label and this was after arguing with them about wanting to charge me a 20% restocking fee, , they did not so i called Ruger who told me Buds ships from a distributor...and does"t know what is sent and HAD me send the Rifle back to Ruger with all my paper work

Will I be the victim of a Stolen Identity? I ordered a gun online with my credit card Friday, March 25, 2011. It arrived to my FFL dealer exactly 6 days later. But much to my surprise, I received three unauthorized charges to my credit card. My credit card company called to tell me of possible fraud charges. They closed my account. I needed my credit card for a business trip that following week. Guess what? I couldn't! I had to pay my brother to fly with me and have him pay for everything. You cannot go anywhere in this world without a credit card. I had not used my card until the Buds purchase. It's never used unless it's a purchase above $1, 000.00. My credit card company would not elaborate, but I did the math. Buds Gun Shop's online credit card processing was the likely culprit. In fact, I just received an email that admits to many customer complaints. Their notice said they are shutting down online card processing until they can figure out if they are responsible. Responsible? Hell yes they are responsible. I'm sick and tired of these amateur companies with their lackluster security. Pay real money and hire real companies that monitor financial transactions! If you cannot guard against hackers, you destroy your reputation. Now I have to deal with a possible stolen identity. That will cost me over $250 a year for identity theft protection from two companies that perform completely different fraud preventions.
Same thing happened to me. If I were you, I would worry about IDENTITY THEFT. Because Buds Gun Shop had ZERO or OUTDATED security on their credit card checkout, the credit card thieves now have your name, address and email. They can start applying for credit under your name. I had to get two identification protection services; protectmyid and lifelock. That is frickin' costly. I would never ever use Buds Gun Shop to buy anything... even if they were giving away guns for $1.00
