myBulova: A Stellar Site for Watch Enthusiasts with Exceptional Community Values!
This site is awesome, and the folks behind it are amazing!
It keeps getting better as they keep adding more and more watches!
I'm super excited to see how this site will evolve in the next 5 or even 10 years, considering how many Bulova watches they keep adding!
The coolest thing about myBulova is that they don't tolerate any kind of harassment towards their members. It's all about the Bulova watches there!
Bulova Marine Star: Failed Deep Dive, Outrageous Repair Cost, and Lack of Guarantee
I recently purchased the Bulova Marine Star, a watch that claims to be suitable for deep diving. I was excited to put it to the test, so I took it with me for a swim in water that was only 5 feet deep. To my disappointment, the watch started leaking and stopped functioning altogether. It was a real bummer, let me tell you.
I decided to return to the store where I originally bought the watch, hoping they would fix it for free. But guess what? They had the audacity to ask for a whopping $75 to repair it! I mean, seriously? That's just plain ridiculous. I couldn't justify spending that much money on a watch that couldn't even handle a little dip in the water.
Determined to find a more reasonable solution, I scoured the town for another place that could fix my beloved Bulova watch. Finally, I stumbled upon a repair shop that agreed to do the job for $50. It was still a significant amount, but at least it was better than the outrageous price the first store demanded.
But here's the thing that really grinds my gears: Bulova itself doesn't offer any sort of guarantee or exchange policy if their watch fails to live up to its intended purpose. I mean, come on, guys! If you're marketing a watch as suitable for deep diving, shouldn't you stand behind your product and offer some sort of assurance?
All in all, I must say I'm quite disappointed with my experience with Bulova and their Marine Star watch. It's not worth the money I paid for it, especially considering its inability to withstand even a shallow swim. I expected more from a brand like Bulova, but it seems they've let me down.
A Must-Visit for Bulova Enthusiasts: MyBulova.com, the Ultimate Resource for Watch Identification and Appreciation
I've been into collecting Bulova watches for about 5 years now. It all started when my cheap quartz watch decided to give up on me once again. Frustrated, I rummaged through a drawer and stumbled upon my late father's 1967 Bulova automatic watch. With a few shakes, it miraculously came back to life, and that's when I fell in love with mechanical watches.
When it comes to identifying the watches in my collection, mybulova.com has become my ultimate go-to site. Their database of Bulova models, movements, and advertisements is truly unparalleled. You won't find anything quite like it elsewhere. It's a treasure trove of information for any Bulova enthusiast.
Now, let's address those 1-star reviews that complain about some panel members being a bit nasty. Honestly, I wouldn't pay them any mind. It seems like those reviews were written by the very panel members they're criticizing. Talk about back-biting! So, don't let those negative comments discourage you. As long as you use the site to expand your knowledge and appreciation for Bulova watches, you'll be in good hands.
Overall, mybulova.com is a fantastic resource for anyone interested in Bulova watches. It's helped me immensely in understanding the different models and movements within my collection. So, if you're looking to dive deeper into the world of Bulova, this site is a must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
Disappointing Community and Lack of User Control: A Review of Bulova Watches (mybulova.com)
Bulova Watches (mybulova.com) used to be a pretty decent place to hang out, but now it's just a bunch of know-it-alls who think they're better than everyone else. They treat newbies like garbage, and it's not cool. The owner of the site has way too much power and can read your personal emails. That's just not right.
Once you post a watch on this site, it's like it's not even yours anymore. You can't edit it or delete it. It's stuck there forever, and that's frustrating. It's like they don't care about giving users control over their own content.
There used to be some really nice people on this site, but now it's become a total joke. If you're a Bulova collector, you might as well just use the site as a guest because if you join, you'll just get talked down to. It's not a welcoming community anymore.
There's this one member, fifth ave, who is the absolute worst. He's so full of himself and thinks he's better than everyone else. He even steals pictures and information from others and claims it as his own. It's just not right, and it's not fair to the people who put in the effort to share their knowledge and experiences.
A lot of the good guys have already left this site for greener pastures. It's a shame because there used to be potential here, but now it's just a disappointment.
My advice to you would be to use this site for information, but don't bother joining. It's not worth it. You'll quickly realize that this site is nothing more than a big joke.
Challenges Faced: MyBulova's Battle Against a Notorious Troll and the Resilience of the Watch Enthusiast Community
MyBulova has unfortunately faced some challenges in the past due to the presence of an individual known by various aliases such as bobbee, kiddo kipps, JANEY, SkankHunt42, benderbending, tedward, Bobbee53, coryt, TruthSeeker, thumbs, watch junkie, hawk53, kiddo kipps, harvey, Fraud seeker, FakeFinder, and many more. This person, who seems to have lost touch with reality, has become a notorious troll in the watch community. Despite being banned from numerous watch forums multiple times, they persistently create new accounts to continue their trolling activities. As a result, their actions have severely damaged any remaining credibility they may have had.
This individual is infamous for fabricating "screen grabs" and manipulating images using Photoshop to support their ever-changing narratives. Their behavior has led to their expulsion from watchuseek, a place they once considered their online home. It is evident that this individual, with their personal vendettas and malicious intentions, is nothing more than a small-minded troublemaker. They have become a cancerous presence within the online community, causing disruptions and spreading negativity.
Despite these unfortunate circumstances, it is important to recognize that MyBulova itself is a reputable platform for watch enthusiasts. The website provides a valuable space for individuals to share their passion for Bulova watches and engage in meaningful discussions. The community, comprised of genuine watch lovers, contributes to the overall knowledge and appreciation of Bulova timepieces.
In conclusion, while MyBulova has had to deal with the repercussions of one individual's disruptive behavior, it remains a reliable resource for those interested in Bulova watches. It is essential to separate the actions of this troublemaker from the overall integrity and value of the platform. MyBulova continues to serve as a valuable hub for watch enthusiasts, fostering a community that appreciates and celebrates the craftsmanship of Bulova timepieces.
Review: Beware of mybulova.com - Rude Members, Inaccurate Database, and Shady Practices
First off, I used to be a member of this website, mybulova.com. Let me tell you, the "forum posts" on there were something else. The way some of the members would talk to each other and to newbies was just plain rude and arrogant. It got to a point where I couldn't take it anymore and decided to quit. But hey, it wasn't all bad. I did manage to meet some really nice folks who were also ex-members, and we still keep in touch.
Now, let's talk about the problems with this site. The ownership is a big issue. You see, when someone would present factual evidence that debunked some of the myths being spread on the site, the owner would punish that person instead of acknowledging the truth. It's like they couldn't handle being proven wrong or something. And that's not all. There have been instances where watches in the database were identified incorrectly. It's a real shame because accuracy should be a top priority.
But wait, there's more. There's this one member who has been caught stealing other people's work and passing it off as their own. Can you believe that? And when the site owner is confronted with evidence of this, they just ignore it. It's against the rules, for crying out loud! It's really disappointing to see such behavior being tolerated.
My advice to you is to use the database on this site without becoming a member. Trust me, it'll save you a lot of grief and heartburn. Oh, and be cautious of the reviews you read on other websites like Alexa. Apparently, the site owner has been pressuring them to remove negative reviews. Talk about shady practices!
Update: As of October 22, 2013, it has been reported and confirmed that the site owner, Stephan Ollman, has been deleting posts that go against his opinions. Can you believe that? Members who have actually put in the effort to do some "hard research" are being silenced. And that's not all. He's also been removing watermarks from ads that were found by others and generously shared on the mybulova site. It's just not right, I tell you. This kind of behavior is what ruined the reputation of this site. I strongly advise everyone to think twice before joining this dwindling membership or contributing any research to their database.
Update: November 3, 2013. Guess what? The site admin at mybulova, let's call him the "site dictator," has allowed his buddy Fifth Avenue Restorations to run wild with his limited intelligence. It's a real shame. One member tried to have an open discussion about the influences on Joseph Bulova's watchmaking ventures, specifically mentioning a watchmaker named Dent and how his innovations impacted modern watchmaking. But guess what? Fifth had to come in and ruin the whole thread by saying he couldn't see any correlation between Dent's achievements and Bulova's early attempts. What a fool, right? I swear, Fifth Avenue Restorations has the IQ of a box of rocks.
So, there you have it. My honest review of mybulova.com. It's got its fair share of issues, and I wouldn't recommend joining or contributing to their database without thinking twice. Stay informed and be cautious, folks.
Review: Website Owner's False Beliefs and Disrespectful User - Time for a Fresh Start
The owner of this website seems to have lost touch with reality. He continues to spread his false beliefs, even though there is no evidence to support them. It's hard to find any useful information on the site because of this.
I want to point out that a user named fifthavenue has been making rude and disrespectful comments in the threads where I have posted. I am using the only means available to me to respond to his foolish and poorly thought out posts.
Because of his increasingly ridiculous writings, fifthavenue has lost all credibility on the site. It gives us a glimpse into his mindset.
Overall, it's time for Stephen, the site owner, to start over. This time, he should focus on getting things right without spreading myths, making up "facts," or telling outright lies. He should remove fifthavenue as the main troublemaker and get rid of that ridiculous "First 5,000" badge. It's simple math that 14 watches do not make 5,000, especially when there are less than 2,500 serial numbers.
Edit: I recently discovered that the site owner has accused me of leaving negative reviews on Alexa. A member of myBulova brought this to my attention. Once again, he has gotten it wrong. He is blaming me as the sole person responsible for the bad reviews against his site.
If he thinks about it, he only has himself to blame. He posted a negative review he found on Alexa about myBulova on his main home page. Then, he went on a rant that he kept changing until he realized it was hurting him. Of course, disgruntled members and visitors will leave bad reviews after seeing that. It's human nature to complain. I am now reducing my rating by one star because of his rants about me. I will also return the favor by providing a link to the reviews on Alexa.
Update: I noticed that the site owner has "re-designed" his Lone Eagle story. It's quite laughable. Here's a small excerpt: "In the Sayville (NY) Suffolk County News of May 2nd, 1930, a Mr. H. H Taub of Bulova stated that 'his company gave every aviator who attempted to hop the ocean a watch.' It has been my belief since 2006 that this watch was a Bulova Conqueror."
His belief since 2006? Read this excerpt he wrote last year in his Lone Eagle forum: "Finally, I am not aware of any stories (other than a very early theory I had, which I now believe to be incorrect) that tells of Lindbergh having a Bulova watch pre his historic flight. The letter and famous saying was as a result of the watch being given to Lindbergh by Arde Bulova upon his return to the US on June 11, 1927."
If you read the rest of this forum, you will see that I have provided undeniable proof that Lindbergh was indeed given a watch before his flight, and it was a Conqueror. The guy can't seem to get his story straight or make up his mind. It's like he's saying, "I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I believe in the Tooth Fairy." If you read his stories, you'll see that he's just a "believer." I found eleven instances of "I believe" and "It is my belief" in the first half of his Lone Eagle article alone. He should stick to facts instead of making things up and distorting genuine statements to fit his "idea," not "theory." You need facts for a theory. He should remove his blinders and rose-tinted glasses because they must be uncomfortable by now.
Update: I noticed that Mr. Ollman has "edited" his post about the advertisement for the new Lone Eagle. He removed his "LONE EAGLE FAIL" remark after I discovered a new model. I also noticed that he is quietly trying to remove any advertisements, even the ones that have helped him find names for watches, that have the "Watchophilia" watermark. We are all keeping an eye on you, Stephen. Additionally, he has "adjusted" the watch boxes for his BULLova LE story after I found that he had mixed them up. I posted my findings on Watchophilia, and he changed the dates and positions. It's nice to know that he gives credit where it's due, as always. NOT!
Warning: Exclusive Club Vibes, Inaccurate Information, and Manipulative Moderation - Approach with Caution
After keeping an eye on this website for a few months, I've noticed that only a handful of members are actively posting. They seem to constantly praise each other and give off an exclusive club vibe. The site administrator appears to have a sense of superiority, as if he holds all the power and can dole out favors as he pleases.
Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to have much knowledge about vintage Bulovas. He often misidentifies them and lacks understanding about his supposed area of expertise, the Lone Eagle. It's clear that he changes his Lone Eagle story to align with the findings on another Bulova site, Watchophilia.com. It's quite obvious that he doesn't have any groundbreaking material, so he resorts to making assumptions and baseless claims to make himself seem more knowledgeable. If you do a little digging, you'll find that the truth is readily available on the other site mentioned.
His own panel of supporters shower him with false praise in a cringe-worthy manner, reminiscent of the Emperor's New Clothes tale. This site is not for those seeking honest and accurate research; it's more suited for readers who enjoy fiction in the style of Dan Brown. Don't expect to find many facts here, as they are few and far between.
The watch database on the site contains numerous unknown watches, even though a diligent search through the advertisements on the site reveals that many of these unknowns actually have names. This alone should raise concerns about the lackadaisical management of the site.
Some members of the panel lack basic knowledge about vintage watches, which should be a prerequisite for their positions. One particular member, who shall remain unnamed, seems to hold the entire site under his sway. He possesses a certain cunning that may appear as intelligence at first glance, but upon closer inspection, he reveals himself to be a false prophet. When his claims are refuted by other members, he resorts to making even more ridiculous claims and vague references in an attempt to save face. His sycophantic behavior towards the site owner, agreeing with everything he says, even when it's clearly incorrect, makes one wonder why he isn't employed as a "yes-man" or a personal assistant to some corporate lackey.
While you can make use of the site's amenities, such as the advertisements and watch database, I would advise against joining the dwindling membership. Most questions will not receive honest and knowledgeable answers.
Recently, a long-time member raised concerns about the lack of interaction and participation among members. This reviewer learned a lot when several posts were either deleted or edited by the overbearing moderator, who didn't appreciate members complaining about the site. As another reviewer mentioned, this behavior seems excessive and reminiscent of Big Brother, rather than fostering an environment of free speech and openness that one would expect from a "friendly" site. In a similar vein, the site administrator has been caught removing posts that reflect poorly on him or expose his lack of intellect, as well as removing watermarks from ads donated to the site by another site. These actions are quite sordid and unpleasant.
According to the site's own rules, "credit must be given to any outside contributor," yet both the administrator and his accomplice, filthavenuerestorations, have been known to copy ads from elsewhere on the internet and post them on the site without proper credit. When other members confronted them about this practice, their protesting remarks were promptly removed, covering up their deceitful actions.
A member recently started a thread questioning the authenticity of a watch being sold on eBay, but his thread and any responses were swiftly deleted. However, not long ago, the administrator himself posted a similar thread about a different watch being sold, simply because the seller had disagreed with him about the watch's identity. He then proceeded to publicly share private emails from the seller in a live eBay auction. Unsurprisingly, the seller ended the auction after this outburst from a self-proclaimed "expert."
Considering that the administrator has access to the site's private messaging system, one might hesitate to write anything that could potentially be read by him. This reviewer has discovered, through careful investigation, that he is a deceitful and untrustworthy individual in every respect.
Thank you for taking the time to read this review. I hope it serves as a warning to approach this site with caution.
Oh dear, it seems that another long-time member has grown disillusioned with this site. Stoddrob has deleted a significant portion of his information, and the administrator has just been made aware of it. This member has had enough of his posts being deleted or edited, and it appears that the final straw may have been the snide remarks made by our mutual friend, fifthavenuerestorations, as usual.
Stoddrob is not the first member to be pushed out by fifth, and unfortunately, he won't be the last, based on my experience.
Many valuable watch records have been lost to the public eye due to the departure of at least three, and possibly more, former members. This can be attributed to Mark Lawrence's negative influence on the site and the site administrator.
When will the administrator wake up and realize the damage that has been done? It's clear that fifth has had a hidden agenda of causing anarchy and chaos for quite some time. Perhaps the administrator is aware of this and doesn't mind? He has been aware of the negative effects of fifth's actions for a while now, but he has always chosen to prioritize their company over others.
Maybe other reviewers are correct in their assumption that fifth has some sort of leverage over Mr. Ollman and uses it to blackmail him?

Bulova Watches Complaints 2
Disappointing Durability: Excessive Crystal Scratches on 2-Month-Old Watch
Watch is 2 months old and crystal scratches are terrible. I ain't never seen scratches like this on my previous Bulovas. I gotta say, I'm real disappointed.
Bulova Watches on mybulova.com: A Mixed Bag of Slow Navigation, Questionable Panel Members, and Limited Knowledge
Bulova Watches, man, let me tell ya, navigating that website is like watching paint dry. It's slow as molasses, I'm telling ya. And don't even get me started on the upkeep. It's like they don't even care, ya know? The panel members on there, some of 'em are straight-up idiots. Like, how did they even get on there? And then you got the buttlickers, just kissin' up to the owner.
Speaking of the owner, he acts like he knows everything about Bulova, but let me tell ya, his knowledge is about as limited as it gets. I mean, just take a look at his spelling and how he uses words. It's downright atrocious, man. Like, does he even know what context means?
But hey, despite all the negatives, there's still some good stuff on there. You can find some decent info if you dig deep enough. And there are a few panel members who actually know their stuff. But man, you gotta wade through a whole lot of nonsense to find 'em.
So yeah, Bulova Watches on mybulova.com, it's a mixed bag, my friend. Slow navigation, poor upkeep, and some real questionable panel members. But hey, if you're patient and willing to sift through the garbage, you might find a gem or two. Just don't expect too much from the owner, 'cause his knowledge is seriously lacking.
