warranty extension service work and service dept. personnel
In june 2017 I traded my motor home that I purchased at dusty's camping world in bartow. I have had several prior terrible experiences there in the past with the service dept, being lied to and not answering the phone as they see who it is on caller id!.
Well, here is another one, I had three years left on a paint and decal extended warranty when I traded it in. I asked for a refund for the three years I had on the agreement and they told me there was no refund coming. When I asked why, they told me the coatings were on the camper and I had nothing coming back. Camping world had nothing to be responsible for at all with this extension.
I wrote to the ceo of camping world, marcus lemonis, and advised him of this matter. No response! So I have to eat $925.00?
When I asked camping world why I received a partial rebate for my tire and wheel extension, which also went with the motor home, they had no answer.
I read several reviews on camping world from all parts of the country and all seem to have the same problems. I suggest lazydays, as they do not do business this way.
deceptive sales practices
Beware! We will never do business with camping world. We recently visited camping world, oakwood, ga in response to a used camper ad listed on their website for $8, 199.00. We called, verified the price and made an appointment and drove over 60 miles one way to their oakwood, ga location where the unit was located. We viewed the camper and liked it and the salesperson (omar benevites) took my husband's driver's license so that he could get a final price on the camper. He came back in and gave us a price of almost $14, 000.00. We asked for my husband's license back because we had no intention of doing business with a company that would use one price to entice you into their location and then change the price. He kept up the high pressure sales even though we asked for the license to be returned 3 more times. Finally his supervisor, terry reno, came in and said the price had been raised due to repairs they had made. We told her that we had verified the price when we called and there were still repairs needed on the camper, so how could that be true. We finally got my husband's license back and were able to leave. We would never do business with a company that uses the "bait and switch" tactic.
service
This company is terrible at customer service. We return our camper for warranty work and it is always with them for over a month. They do not call and update us on the progress, we always have to follow up with them, and when we do call it usually takes 3-5 days for them to return the call. We have had multiple intermittent issues on parts covered by warranty and if they have not been able to troubleshoot.in fact, in one case they charged us for investigating a problem they could not fix; a problem covered by the warranty we had to pay for them not to fix it. We have had service on the same parts repeatedly with no resolution. They have no customer satisfaction concerns at all. We find them unreasonable and regret we ever purchased an RV from them and would never recommend them to anyone.
warranty issue and poor customer service by upper management
Bought a brand new Travel Trailer end of last July. The gentlemen that sold it to us Jim was excellent. Service and management on the other hand not so great. Our first trip camping this summer it started to rain and our self leveling sun shade/awning collapsed. Contacted Camping world and had to call a mobile RV Tech to come out and help us. I was told it was still under factory warranty and they would submit it. My claim was denied and I was told by service I had to call the manufacturer myself to rectify the situation. The manufacturer rep was the rudest person I have ever spoken to. They wouldn't help me either. I had to order my own part because Camping World couldn't get it for 10 days. Majors RV in the Cape were amazing and got it for me the next day. The same Mobile Repair guy Chris from CP RV came out and replaced it for me he is also amazing. Come to find out it wasn't damaged the original awning/sunshade was never even installed properly hence why it collapsed. I still a month later am still fighting with them to get reimbursed now that i'm almost $1, 000.00 in with this. They also replaced my blinds due to a recall and installed them incorrectly they don't even cover the window properly. The service department is horrible with returning your calls and not to mention they sold me the camper but couldn't tell me what type of awning we had on it. Ashley that works the front store was more helpful and got me the correct information. Spoke with the General Manager Danielle who also was so unprofessional, she seemed to care less what my issue was and was so rude Thank God she's no longer there.in conclusion I will never purchase another camper from this company and I sure don't trust them to service my camper either. Everyone I know personally who has bought a camper here have all had similar experiences.
customer service
I bought a RV GPS at the Camping World Store in Alabama last year and also bought a two year warranty. On my way to a work camp job in MN the GPS died in Chicago in the middle of a storm not good news. When I finally got to the resort I called customer service. Very personable and was told they would ship me a new GPS. Nothing. Two weeks later I called again same bright and friendly representative told me that I would definitely get a new on and that a manager would be calling me. Nothing. Called again and got another rep and he asked me to send him an email with a picture of the GPS. Thought it was a strange requested but I did so. No reply from him. So once again I call and this representative said since I bought it at a retail store I would need to return it to a Camping World store. Since the nearest store was 3.5 hours away this was something I was trying to avoid. I would not have been upset at Camping World if this was communicated to me the first time I called instead of giving me the run around. It appear their customer service department needs training in customer service.
I did go to their store in Monticello and got a new GPS. Face to face service was excellent.
heartland pioneer bh250 experience
Bought my camper on 7/22 from camping world statesville nc. Happy with all, at that point. Left and 20 miles later, a tire blew out. Called, and camping world was gonna send someone out — ended up changing tire myself and going home — no one — not my salesman, nor finance guy even called about such an experience — I have 4 tires that I have no confidence in, and no help from camping world at all. Has customer service gone to hell? No followup after spending 16, 000. Pityful — worst sales experience after the sale I have had — not even a free phone call. So, I am going to tell all not to buy from camping world — love you till the sell, then done with you — sorry in my opinion!
motorhome repairs
I own a 20p9 thor mandalay,. I contacted campingworld in columbus ohio for a repair on a bedroom slide out that wouldn't come all the way in and lock. I made the appointment for june 27th at two o'clock. I was advised that it may be a week before they repair it as they were short handed. I advised them that I was a full time rv'r and lived in my motorhome. It was two weeks before they even looked at it so I told them that I needed my motorhome as the motel was getting expensive and that I had already paid $ 700.00 on my camping spot at alton campground. I told them that I would take the motorhome back to the park and when they got the locking mechanism they could call me as I was only a half hour away. I was told if I took the motorhome I would have to make a new appointment and the first a valuable appointment is the first week in sept. Here it is july 20th and they havn't ordered the locking mechanism nor have they contacted my extended warranty company. I believe that camping world needs to review their policy so as full time rv owners can stay in their rv till the date it can be worked on
This is my last dealings with camping world and believe me as I travel the country my remarks about this london/columbus ohio camping world won't be the nicest. If you think you will recieve a return call from them dont hold your breath.
cougar travel trailer by keystone
It started with the Purchase of brand new 2017 off the lot Travel Trailer. Purchased at the Camping World from Burlington WA. The issues started with owning the trailer for one month and in that time we found 19 different "warrantee" issues. Brought the trailer into Camping World in the month of Nov 2016 - did not receive any calls, no information. With us constantly communicating to see what is going on, no one had complete dates, the information was that the Manufacturing/Warantee department wasn't able to order parts in a timely manner, then the repair rep at this company was fired or quit (conflicted information) but we were not notified of completion of trailer, as our product sits on the lot, no one thought to maybe contact us or inform us that our product was ready for pick up, so we did not receive our trailer until end of Feb 2017. 4 months on this lot. 19 issues. When we did a walk through on said repairs, we found 3 of the major concerns were not only "disregarded" but when it was pointed out, the repair shop informed us that they had done what was requested when clearly the issue was not fixed. They had to have us bring the trailer back in on another separate occasion as they once again had to order parts. No one answered questions, they greeted us with a resentful attitude and no one apologized for the lack of communication. As the owners of this brand new product, we have had it (at the time a total of 1.5 months in our possession, out of 6). When we got the product back in February, there was a leak that we informed them about and were told there isn't a fixable solution to the water on the counter.
Fast forward to the 4th of July weekend, once again another issue. This time it was major - pipe burst, flooded the inside of the trailer is how ever much water the water tank holds, fixed it, on hand as we were out of vacation, to make due, 3 different times. When it was brought back into the dealership, was told it was faulty equipment, on this brand new trailer that has been used 2 times. 2 times because we have not had this in our possession to be used. Now, its a brand new product with 19 already mentioned problems and then the pipes were faulty. I've tried working a complain in their house, I then went to a Lead at Camping world proper, he has blown me off and so I went to Corporate, only to be continually ignored. At my wits end with this company with this product. Im attaching the entire email stream that has been back and forth so long now I feel like its intentional, so that I will finally just throw my hands up and walk away. Not gonna happen.
supplemental braking system smi stay and play
Purchased and had this system installed three years ago at Camping World of Oakwood, Ga., has been the biggest nightmare of getting it to work right yet. Have talked with other Rv'S that have same system they have no problems. My first mistake was dealing with Camping World have done figured out they don't know how to properly install this system to get it to work right. Will never advise anybody to use this place for anything like this all I can say is run the other way.
order number: 1199759 web ref# : [protected] order date : 29-jun-2017 bill to: teresa thibeault 49 union rd belmont, nh 03220
I have received the worst customer service by your company I was flat out ignored by your customer service team after not shipping my item for 9 days after I was told I would have it in 5 to. 7 days. I asked several times to have my item RUSH rush shipped paying for extra even as I needed this item. I was told after asking 5 times it shipped and here is tracking. Did not even acknowledge my request. Then I received a 15% off email in the middle of all this which I wanted applied to my order because it hasn't shipped again was not even acknowledged flat out ignored. I have worked in customer service for 30 years and never in my life have I seen worse customer service. I am reporting this to the better business bureau and any and all reviews I find about your company I will pass along my story. Never again will I order from this company and will make sure everyone I know does not
coleman dutchmen 2014
Day 1 told we could have it that afternoon after they did a look through.
Day 2 it was in the ready to pick up line, no one even touched it much less looked at it.
Day 4 Nathan calls for the previous owners DVDs that were left.
Set up and ready to go to work, Nathan calls and says our holding tank came in and is ready to be installed because the one on it has a crack. ? No one said ANYTHING
A day after this no power. Go throught the whole camper and in the junction box is a melted wire! Yes this could have caught on fire!
This list is growing and no one will take our calls!
2017 rd-210 pioneer purchased october 2016
Brandon, Adam, Anyone at Camping World,
Is there anywhere besides Camping World that will do warranty work on my RD-210?
As you are aware I've had no satisfaction from Camping World Colfax. I've had this 2017 RV 9 months and have yet to have an experience without issues. I really would like to return the RV if at all possible. After the last visit The RV came back to me with serious mud on tires and Bird dropping all over the thing. Now every time it rains I get water in the floor of the RV. That was not happening before I left it there to fix the air conditioner that didn't work, the toilet that leaked, the USB ports that didn't' work, and the missing floor staples. Possibly a roof leak where the air conditioner was replaced? In any case I've purchased a brand new Heartland RV in October of 2016. It is now July 2017 and I have yet to have a camping experience with it without issues. I would prefer a Refund or at the very least a very quick response, repair or alternate place of warranty work. It is now the 4th of July and I have zero confidence in taking this unit on an outing. Camping World, Good Sam, somebody please help with this issue.

2017 salem hemisphere
Worst mistake ever buying from Camper World! Was delivered with a tear in recliner. Had it home less than a week and noticed floor in bunk room was wet. Searched for but found no leak. Called and was told it would be a couple weeks before they could get it in. They had the camper 2 weeks and out of about 10 repairs they fixed one. The leak. As THEY we're transporting it back to us the shower doors were shattered, dishes that were secured were thrown out and broke, the slide out for kitchen is busted, and neither air conditioner is working properly. And we are being run around again
Fed up is an understatement. I am going to see what exactly our rights are. This company should be SO ashamed. This is definitely not the experience I was hoping for after just losing my mom on the first😟. What should have been peaceful has turned into a nightmare.
no response to previous complaint
Please be warned about the lack of customer respect at Camping World
Yet another week goes by, and another week where Camping World refuses to respond to my complaint letter… so much for their 1100% Customer Satisfaction guarantee
Sent letter April 30th to CEO, VP Customer Service & General Manager of Panama City Beach Store
Confirmed on May 19th that letter was received and a response was being worked on
Yet a month later no response.
No response to my multiple phone messages either

service and sales
This review is based upon my recent experience with the Camping World of Monticello but due to the lack of response from Camping World Corporate I would include the whole company for this review.
Their business practices are deceptive. Their customer service is horrible. Their management hides behind voicemail and email with no response other than thanks for the inquiry and the Good Sam association with them is a scam.
I brought my RV to the dealership for service due to an electrical issue, water leak, running board and cabinet repair. The customer service rep (Matt) started off with trying to sell me a "pressure test" process to determine if my RV had "leaks". After going over the RV with Matt for more than 20 minutes I simply asked to fix the RV for what I brought in for.
They had the RV for approximately 6 weeks. I was told the water leak was due to a "custom" part that had to ordered and built. I was never really clear on the what the part was and to get a reasonable clarification took multiple phone calls and email.
The electrical issue was not resolved. Matt informed me my electrical issues were due to defective cabin batteries. The batteries are only 6 months old! Their service tech's recommended putting in a "disconnect switch" for the leveling system and re-wiring the cab radio which I agreed to. My cost for their electrical diagnosis and repair was in excess of $500 and they did not correct the problem.
I took the RV to Pleasureland in St. Cloud for them to diagnose and fix. It took them about 2 hours, replace the solenoid (which is one of the electrical components I told Matt to check) and all is good.
Overall I had over $1500 in out of pocket expense.
Secondly...I informed them at the time of service that I was interested in purchasing a newer, larger RV. Their salesperson (Tyler) reached out to me and said he would go to work to see what he could do. I FOUND an RV for sale at another Camping World location in Florida!
I could tell from the beginning the sales rep was not working in my best interest. Multiple emails and phone calls to direct him to the dealership on Florida and make the sale happen was impossible.
When I inquired to Tyler for a list of features/options on the RV they wanted to sell me his statement was..."I wasn't able to get a specific spec sheet and option list for that motorhome because it is used."
Long story short...The other items I requested to be repaired were completed and look good, work well BUT...based upon my overall experience I wouldn't go back to this store or any other Camping World ever again.
Buyer Beware and I would look to another aftermarket warranty product other than Good Sam based upon this experience and their connection with Camping World
service department, nashville, tn
Stopped here on Monday 6/19/17, with a brand new unit and a refrigerator that stopped working. Asked if someone could just look at it. Might have been a simple reset. We were turned away and told that "maybe" they could fit us in at the end of the month. We explained that we were from SW Florida and traveling. They were rude about it, to make matters worse. Disgrace to Camping World.
tow vehicle installation
I have attached a copy of the estate for doing work on my car I don't know how the harrisburg pa store stays open I know of no one in our circle of campers that is happy with the way they do buisness I thought it was my duty to let you know, after this in sure I will not do buisness with the store again fist off they want to charge 161.20 for shipping for what I ask they sell this item in the store any thing I ever bout at the store I never paid shipping, then there is the 125.00 for supply's what supplies ever kit comes with everything you need to instal. What do you think about that if you got a estimate like that? Thanks mike
coleman camper
I purchased a camper from Camping World in Roanoke, Virginia in March of this year 2017. In May 2017 I took it camping for the first time. The back jack on the trailor quit working half way through lowering it. Fuses blew to the dining room table light and couch and did not work during our trip. After returning home, I called Camping World, my husband and I work Mon - Friday, so they did let us bring it on a sunday, refused to come pick it up for us, and so we were not able to deliver it until June 4th - and we live a hour and half away. Service tech called June 6th-7th and asked for detail of what was wrong. By 6/13/17 never heard anything, so I called them, Dwayne Ferguson began to tell me the wires were wired backwards and they would have to cut a hole, and rewire then paint. We have a camping trip planned, allowing them 3 weeks to complete my camper, and they can not make any promises to me that it will be completed. I do not think that it is acceptable that I purchased a brand new camper, never used and have to return it to hear that it has to be cut, and repatched and painted, or a ceiling panel removed. I have spoke to three different people early this morning at camping world, and all 3 told me they would call me back, and all 3 have not retuned my phone call by this point. The sales manager I had left a message with, and knows my situation, left the building and wont be back in today - Ron Bowls without returning my phone call. I called the Retail Team Manufacture for Keystone/Dutchman - to file complaint and check on warrenty. Camping world did not submit my claim until yesterday 6/13/17. I have had the worst experience. I would not recommend anyone to purchase through camping world. I feel they should replace my camper. I do not want a repaired place and then have to worry about leaks. When this was not my fault.
richmond, in - dishonest in work completed
We flew from California to Camping World of Richmond, Indiana to purchase a used 2006 Country Coach Intrigue. They sent us Work Orders of 27 items that they had already repaired on the coach. After 40+ phone calls, emails and text we felt comfortable to spend the money ($1995.00) to travel there to purchase the coach. When we got there most of the 27 items on the Work Orders had NOT be done even though the Work Order said the status of each item was "complete". Some of the items having to do with the water system we were unable to check because they couldn't find a hose to put water into the coach. One of the main items that they said they had fixed and didn't was a fuel leak and a coolant leak. We took a 20 mile test drive and used approx. 2 gallons of coolant. It really is upsetting that they would let us leave in the Coach and drive from Indiana to California knowing it had a coolant leak. We would have been stopping every 50 miles to refill it with coolant. Fortunately for us, we had taken our son-in-law who knew about Diesel engines and saw the leaks. We knew that there had been a water leak on one of the slide seals and we asked the staff if they could see any mold or mildew in the RV. The salesman said he had been in the coach lots of times and had never seen any. One of the first things we noticed were the mushrooms growing under the dinette and in the bedroom slide. Wasted time and money traveling there because they are dishonest. The Coach is still up for sale, who will be the next victim?
I hope I can prevent others from wasting money flying to this location to purchase a Coach. Beware if they give you a Work Order that says the items have been completed.
service department at calera alabama
My name is David McDaniel and I bought a brand new Class C RV back in January 2017 and needed some warranty work completed. The leveling jacks were not working correctly, TV needed to be replaced(blank screen) and the door stuck when trying to open. I was told that it would be 2 weeks to get an appointment and then 2 weeks to get the diagnosis for warranty. I took my RV in about 5 weeks ago and was told nothing was wrong with the leveling jacks (crazy as I had talked with online support and they suggested taking it right in). My fear is that the leveling jacks are not fixed and I will be right back in the same boat. The TV was ordered but when it came in it looks to have some damage with the pixels but they installed it anyway. I asked if they were going to replace it and the answer I got was no we were going to see what you thought and maybe it would work for you. Bad answer! I do not want to have to go through this crap again, waiting 2 weeks to get an appointment and then 5 weeks to order a TV. I had to ask that they order a new TV to replace that one as well. I believe Camping World should pay 1 month of my loan payment due since they have kept it for over a month ($540). Also this service department is obviously ran by incompetent people so replacing management might be in order. I just want my RV back so that I can use what I'm paying for, what a waste! Please help me!
