Poor service false information
Attempted to take advantage of relationship with Good Sam by using their discounts advertised on Camping world email ads. They offer Good Sam discounts on a few items, but when you order you lose the discount to shipping due to the discounts dropping you below the $69 shipping case. Also, does not add on 10% discount for being a good Sam member.
Additionally, there is an advertised "$20 instant savings" when you apply for a Good Sam Credit card. This is false. The savings do not show up instantly and when I spoke to (The most uncaring, borderline rude) customer Service rep, she said it is applied to your new card at first billing. This is not instant then, is it!
I did attempt to save by having the items go to "Pick up at store" to save on the exorbitant shipping cost (Which deleted my good Sam discounts) but the store had none of the items in stock so would not allow this. What a poor way to do business and I am surprised Good Sam would allow this company to dirty their reputation! They should be ashamed and I will pass this along to maybe someone who cares?
Desired outcome: Get your act together and stop cheating customers. Discounts should be discounts and not penalties. Your advertised discounts should be true
RV repair (10 months and waiting)
My 2020 Coleman by Dutchmen Lantern LT has been in your Bartow, FL dealer for about 10 months. We took it for hail damage repairs, my insurance company sent a check for the repairs(10 months ago) and still no RV. Every time I call, they transfer me, take a message etc etc and nobody seems to help or care. It’s like our phone calls bothers them. On February 2nd (this year) someone finally from Bartow spoke to us, and they stated the work was completed but a soft spot in the roof was found and they submitted a supplement to my insurance company. This is the first time I hear about this. I called the insurance company, and my claim representative said no supplement was received from Camping World. My insurance company called your company and supposedly they were going to send the supplement request. We are talking about a brand-new RV that we’ve used probably 4 times and that we make monthly payments for something we can’t use.
There’s no reason for a repair to take that long, specially when we are talking about a small RV. We were so excited when we first got this RV and from the beginning it’s all being problems. Fridge don’t work, water heater doesn’t work etc. We are so unhappy with our purchase, and since we are stuck with it, we would like to have it back. This RV is the definition of a lemon! I don’t understand the soft spot because from the beginning the RV has been covered and protected by a very expensive cover I bought from you guys!
Camper
Camper has been in service since October 2022. They said it was done. Then said they found a hole in my roof from manufacturing. They said it’s possible full roof replacement. Ridiculous. Can’t anything be done to reprimand this company on their lies, deceit and issues? I have had this called almost a year and had nothing but issued with it. Bought brand...
Read full review of Camping WorldWork order and charges
We had a work order October 4, 2022. We brought up the areas of the camper that needed to be done to the camper. My husband said I want to give the ok before you do the work. Well, they did not wait for the ok to do the work. There were items on the work order that could be fixed by us that would not cost me $82.50 each. We purchased this camper for 98k now we had issues the day we came and purchased it. The financial person quit so the Manager had to do the paperwork. We waited over 3 hours. Next, we broke down and the Manager did not ever turn in our towing insurance that we paid for. -4 hours on the interstate and had to deal with it ourselves. Which was reimbursed by Camping World, but still an issue. When we had our walk through in the camper, we stated one of the issues of the TV Stand and Closet. They said we will fix before you leave. Well still have issues so we put it on the work order. We know that we are over the 1-year period by like 3 months but live up to the product you are selling. Example: A Cutout for an outlet was too big and it fell right inside of the cabinet. ($82.50) charge. Brackets on the couches never installed properly. ($82.50) charge. TV was not high enough mounted - remotes did not work (asked regarding this on walk through). ($82.50) charge. Valance on the kitchen window never screwed in. Did walk though after the WO in October still not done. Was told would not get charged. ($82.50) charged. Closet Door does not close properly. Noticed this on walk through was supposed to be fixed. ($82.50) charge. The paneling near the bedroom door is curling and loose. Per them Lack Staples and Nail. ($82.50) charged. Don't forget that I got separately charged $82.50 for the diagnose and advise. Wasn't that the deal on the per item ones? The one thing that did get fixed was the Circuit Break 50AMP was not installed correctly. Breaker burnt out. We do not travel with our camper. We keep it during the Summer Months on a piece of land. We store it in a well secured cemented shed in the Winter Months. We take care of our purchases. I sent in 2 complaints directly to the store. The first one was ignored and the 2nd one I sent I was going to the BBB and of course it was responded to it immediately. So technically I was charged $495.00. I agreed with a Jim on December 16, 2022, that we would get a gift card for $175.00. Well guess what never received it, and it is January 23rd. We spent well over 105K on just items in the store along with memberships etc. It is so disappointing a company is ran like this. I always give them opportunities to make things right, but I am frustrated and need a resolution.
Desired outcome: Refund me money back of $495.00 for all the inconveniences we have since we purchased this camper. I do not want a gift card.
I was not getting anywhere until I emailed the VP of the Company. Took awhile but it is finally resolved. Don't put up with excuses get to the bottom of things.
Misleading, unauthorized use of debit card
Jan 7th, 2023,
Chattanooga, Tn.
My son went to purchase a camper. He was told $2000 were ample enough as a down payment. January 9th he was contacted and informed he needed $800 more down to continue the purchase without being given any other options at the time. He questioned why the additional $800. They stated it's required by the lenders for 10% down. he asked why he wasn't told on Saturday if that were so. He felt lied and mislead just for the sale of the camper. Since he was denied the loan and it wasn't at his decision, he requested the deposit to be return that he was done. An hour later he was contacted and informed that he got approved without the additional deposit. He informed them he had already withdraw his desired of a purchase, since it wasn't his irresponsible fault or decision and due to non-trust issues. He signed some sort of an agreement that the deposit was nonrefundable if he changes his mind on this purchase but could be used on another purchase. The Non approval of the loan wasn't his fault. What is his fault is he failed to catch in the paperwork is the agreed final price was $28000 out the door. They presented the paperwork as $28000 plus the deposit. he was excited about getting himself a camper and his first experience was bad.
Desired outcome: I was there, I used my debit card. I paid the deposit. I signed no nonrefundable sheet. My son backed out during the time of no fault to him. I requested my deposit back. I feel I am totally morally and legally owed my $2000.
Camper that was purchased less than 1 year ago
We have had many issues with the trailer we purchased less than a year ago. Some of the issues were resolved but one issue your company tried to resolve included cutting the linoleum and gluing it back to the floor. After 1 camping trip, the cut spot is coming up from the floor. We had told the service department that we didn't want the floor cut and it was done anyway. There are other things that the warranty department was made aware of, wasn't taken care of. We have tried to reach out twice to Maranda at the camping world in Byron and haven't received any calls back. You can look back in my records and see that there have been many complaints about camping world. After having the trailer for 6 months, Terry (who is no longer there) told us to talk the sales department about buying the trailer back. After spending $50,000 on the trailer, we were told they would give us $26,000 for it. We feel like we have been shafted by this company ever since we purchaced the trailer.
Desired outcome: At this point, I want your company to buy back this trailer for what is owed on it
Poor craftsmanship, product quality and bad customer service
The day we bought our camper was the end of peace of mind. We ended up being 20 min late due to my husband having to beg to he released 2 hours early to pick up our what we thought would be our new home. We get to camping world (spartanburg, SC location) and are greeted with "the driver for your unit is pissed you're late, he's cranky and tired and wants to...

Hello,
I saw your online ad for a Blackstone 22 inch griddle with cover item #655035 for $139.00. I called your Kansas City store located at the Legends and gave them the specifics and asked if they had it in stock. The young lady came back and said they had 6. Since this is a long drive for me, I wanted to make sure they were in stock.
When I arrived at the store, I could not find this model and asked for help. A very polite lady looked and checked in the back to no avail. I asked if they could make a deal on another Blackstone which cost more. She said she had to check with her manager.
She came back and said the manger was not going to do anything. Then the manager came out and told me she couldn't do anything. I asked if she could deliver it to my home and she answered, very smugly, I would have to pay shipping. Your manager, Tammy Stockton I believe is her name wasn't very cordial nor helpful. She asked me what I wanted and I stated I wanted what was advertised and was told to me over the phone. I told her they made a mistake and I had driven a long way based on their info. I also told her I would contact the home office and give their store a bad but honest review. She said "go ahead, I will make a bad review on you". I was very polite in this whole ordeal, and I asked her what she would report, no answer.
The young lady that made the mistake apologized. I am 80 years old and have always lived under the assumption that "a mistake is only a mistake if it goes uncorrected". Your manager chose to ignore the mistake and created bad feelings with me, your customer. She kept telling me "to have a good day" sarcastically which I thought was totally inappropriate.
My wife asked for this as a Christmas present and if you could answer ASAP I would appreciate it. I have to find one and would like to give your company a chance to rectify.
Thanks for your time.
Mike Pace [protected]@hotmail.com
Desired outcome: I will gladly pay for the advertised price of $139.00 but since this was the stores error, I believe it should be delivered to my home and you pay the shipping cost.
Brand new 2022 bt36 thor magnitude $ 287,308.00 motor coach
1) First trip out: After lowering leveling jacks on the motor home, if you lock the doors and set the alarm for the night and you move around inside, it sets the alarm system off with horn blaring and all lights flashing. Contacted Camping World in Liberty Lake Washington, they will not work on it as the alarm is part of the Ford frame equipment. Called Ford, they say alarm sensors are doing their job and their is no way to disconnect the alarm system without screwing up other electronic systems. The nearest Ford dealership to us that works on motor homes with their frames is 350 miles away from us. Nothing was said about this before we bought the unit.
2) All sorts of plumbing issues, front bathroom sink needed to be replaced, toilet flush pedal was installed incorrectly and needs to be replaced. The window screen fell off the window in the front bathroom.
The master bathroom sink water faucet leeks to the point it soaks the floor under the cabinet.
3) Screws in the bedroom and bathroom doors all fell out
4) Wiring in cargo bays was all hanging loose. Also had wiring hanging under the motor coach behind the steps
5) The back bedroom radio was installed upside down, all wires were cut short and it had to be replaced
6) Engine oil was over 2 quarts low at delivery and all tires were 20 pounds low
7) Service Department lies about repair times and things the say were repaired. Its been in for repairs 4 times and this time it has been in for over 6 weeks. They will not return calls, so we go down their and they tell us their short on technicians and now it sits in the weather instead of being in our out building
8) Left side slide makes a big bang on top when being retracted
Warranty work taking over a year to repair
Last November 2021 I was to take my trailer in to get some warranty work completed, they had to change drop off appointment due to them not having room to park the trailer. So new appointment was April. Drop off trailer on April 9th our first camping trip was Memorial weekend, camping world had trailer from April 9th to May 21. They never got to any repairs or communicated that they had or hadn't done repairs. I picked up trailer went camping for a week, I called and asked when I could bring trailer back, they will get back to me, Aug 3 they send me an e-mail asking when I can bring my trailer back in. Take it in Aug 19th, not going camping till first week of OCT. they said it will be done, I go to pick it up Sep 27 do a walk through on repairs, they never confirmed or checked to see if repairs were done. well half were done, drawer still won't shut, they put screws in the island leg that sickout (it never had screws in it, so it looks like crap). Now I try to make another appointment bring it in NOV 22, I call to ask if I can bring it in 3 days later on the 25 because of my work schedule. I figured they aren't able to work on it till after Thanksgiving. They tell me they can't, and the next schedule is in February. I ask why they say because they don't have room, I say my trailer was already going to be there so the spot for my trailer should still be available. They say they can't I ask to talk to a manager. He is busy so I will try to get him to call you. I never heard anything. So at this point I am not sure what to do. I live 30 miles away from Camping world. It's not like it is around the corner and gas is cheap. I have worked around them and their horrible service and lack of communication and not being able to fix my trailer when they do have it. I am a loss of words and am not sure what to do.
Desired outcome: To get my trailer fixed and have some sort of customer service.
Service Incompetence; GM unprofessional, Uxbridge, Mass
Camping World, Uxbridge, Mass.
Appointment on SEPTEMBER 13, 2022 to have AC repaired. No cool air thru dashboard area. Also, propane odor.
Today is NOVEMBER 28, 2022. They still have the RV and Service Manager and General Manager not returning calls. Always "in a meeting". Weather in New England is getting colder, need to get RV back to winterize or put in our garage until they can promise to get to it.
Details:
Sept. 13 - had appointment for above issues.
Sept. 16 - had not looked at RV. We took picked it up for use over the weekend with the understanding we would return it on the following Monday for them to service.
Sept. 19 - returned RV to Camping World as agreed.
October 5th - Called for update... Was told someone would call us back. No return call.
October 18th - Called CW spoke with Carlos. Said that Thor used a third party vendor for the part they need. That vendor is no longer in business. CW (Camping World) waiting to hear back on how to obtain the part.
November 3 - Called CW Service Dept. Was told by CW that they were waiting for a call from Good Sam. CW said it was the condensor.
Nov. 7- Called Good Sam. They had no record of any contact with Camping World of Uxbridge, Mass. regarding this matter.
November 7 - Was told by female in CW Service Dept. that they had a 3rd party look at the problem. Name of 3rd party was Jeff's Automotive. Female gave address of Jeff's Automotive
November 8- We went to Rodman FordTruck Service Center in Foxboro, Mass. to discuss what they diagnosed on July 27 when we went infor a recall inspection in regards to another matter entirely.
They said their diagnosis was NOT the compressor.
Then we went to Jeff's Automotive. Owner of that business said he never looked at the RV in regards to service. He has no service bays or facilities to service our issue.
He may have seen the RV at some point but only to tour the inside or look at the outside due to curiosity of layouts, etc.
Same day... went back to CW. Saw same female in Service Dept. She said she would call Thor. The Service Manager called Thor while we were there. CW told Thor that Camping World's 3rd party diagnosed the problem as compressor. Thor replied "not covered" it's a Ford chassis part."
November 10 - Called CW and asked to speak with General Manager for an update. He identified himself as Mike. He said he would look into our concerns and get back to us regarding the length of time this has taken and also what we were told about Jeff's Automotive. Never received a call from Mike.
November 18 (today). Placed several calls to Mike. He is in meetings.
Asked to speak to service manager...in meetings. Finally, receptionist said that Kim in Service would be calling us today. No call yet. I left Kim a voice mail that the weather is getting cold here in New England and I am concerned about the RV being outside without being winterized. Will go and pick it up today. Asked her to please call me back today in a timely manner so we can go get it and put it back into our garage.
Desired outcome: Fix the AC issue in a timely manner.
Purchased used RV in May 2022. Got price down a few thousand from asking and ended up paying $50k out the door. That didn't include taxes which we then had to pay in Maine to the tune of another 2-3k. There were minor issues that were supposed to have been repaired. Didn't happen, and long drive for us, so didn't fight them because they were minor or didn't notice until later. When got it home, had some things we were not sure of and husband called. They never returned calls. Other weird things in the purchase we realized later. Now just a little over a year later, we decided the model did not suit our needs. Upon trying to trade, we got a trade-in value of $5k from a company, not Camping World, and then tried our more local Camping World. Offered $10k trade-in. Told it would be wholesale. $40k drop in one year? All in same condition for most part. I could handle $20k drop in value over a year's time, but almost the whole value?Yes it is an older model, but that drop seems excessive. We are now stuck with it. Will not do business with Camping World again.
Employee complaint
I’m a employee of Camping world I’m making a formal complaint of a unsafe work environment. I’ve been threatened numerous times, been exposed to drugs and had numerous sexual advances in only a few months of employment. And when you tell management they don’t care or do anything about it. The people who make threats and do the drugs they keep. I have proof of the threats.
Desired outcome: Change the work environment
Trailer service
Camping World, Concord, NC - work order #453203
Took trailer in for refrigerator service on 9/21/22. Was advised on 10/27 that a new refrigerator was necessary and I would have to pay $3000.00 as good sam extended warrenty did not cover entire refrigerator, I agreed to pay the $3000.00. I ws advised on 11/8 that refrigerator was received - called on 11/14 for status and was advised not yet installed. I then ask to speak with service manager and was advised he was not available but service clerk would leave him a message. Did not hear anything as of 2:15pm 11/15 so called and had to leave a voice message for service message. As of 11:30am 11/16 I had no response so called again for service manager and AGAIN had to leave a voice mail. MMy trailer has been at Camping World in Concord, NC for 55 days, the weather is now turning to freezing overnight and has not been winterized. I told service clerk I would pay to have it winterized but she was unable to guarantee that it would be done today. This is terrible service and the service manager (Jack Boudrdeu) does not even have the courtesy to return my phone calls!
Microwave
I told them my microwave didn't work. The service department told me it was no good and needed to buy another one. I figured I could just buy a new cheap microwave. My son borrowed my camper for the summer and told me the only problem with the microwave s a blown fuse it worked perfectly all summer long. They tried to cheat me or the service department has incompetent employees. Either way, I won't use them again
Desired outcome: None just wanted them to know their service is lousy.
Camping World in Reno using deceptive sales tactics.
We were interested in a Jayco North Point 377RLBH they had listed for $81,999 and they setup a virtual tool for us. Afterwards the salesman was telling me to make an offer if I liked it. I did, with our paid-off trade (we also bought from Camping World), then they came back with a price sheet listing the RV for $96,999. The salesman was off the next day and I got a follow-up from Tori who seemed very nice and said she saw the RV on their lot priced at 81,999. I said I was interested in that one, but the price sheet I got was for a lot higher price. I attached the price sheet to the text thread at that point and she said at that point she'd get with Dilip and have him reach out to me.
Then he reached out today and said they have other units available. Not sure if we're being discriminated against (my wife is black and we did have video on for the tour), or if there is something else deceptive going on, but these types of bait-and-switch tactics is something I usually see from shady used car dealers or backwater RV lots selling used RVs.
Thanks for your time reading this. I hope other customers don’t run into this same issue, as I usually have a great experience from Camping World and this isn’t the norm for me. Have bought two RVs from other locations and have dealt with a number of Camping Worlds, and this has been by far the worst experience I've encountered.
Desired outcome: Just wanted to inform folks so they could be aware this is happening at that location.
Roof reseal
I had the roof of my RV resealed at Camping World, Saukville, WI in July 2022. In early September during a persistent rain, I discovered a leak. I called to bring it back for eval and was told they couldn’t get me in until Oct. I said it was clearly a warranty issue and the response was, sorry not until Oct. , which then put it beyond the 90 day warranty period. I now find out they didn’t even remove silicone that had been used on the roof when they resealed. I understand the sealant won’t stick to silicone. When I took it to camping World in Tampa they wanted me to pay for a complete additional full roof seal. WI also never returned my calls, I had to physically show up to get any answers. Horrendous customer service and way overpriced for what they provide
Desired outcome: Would like to be refunded for the roof that was never actually resealed properly
Norcold refrigerator never worked, door wouldn't lock from inside, metal piece on the shower, door handle coming in is not working
On 4/5/22 we bought a 5th wheel Yukon. We traded a Jayflight Jayco in plus made a cash payment of $68,000.00. We understood that Camping World of Jackson would service what they sold. They delivered the camper, but once it was delivered there were multiple things wrong with it.
The rail coming up the stairs was broken and could not be fixed. The door from the inside would not lock, I had to tie a rope to it and tie it to something else to secure it at night.
The Norcold refrigerator never got below 60 degrees. We did get a service man to come look at the refrigerator, that Camping World recommended and paid out of pocket to the service man, it couldn't be fixed.
Nick in the service department was rude and called my husband a liar.
There was a metal piece on the shower that was broken and drawers would not close in the bedroom.
The service man from Camping World, did fix the door, but he could not fix the handrail or the metal part on the shower. He told me that these would have to be ordered.. Someone needs to make it mandatory that staff at the Jackson Camping World take a class on professional treatment of their clients and to not lie to them.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology, and everything fixed.Thank you,
Camper world
The entire staff is extremely rude, aggressive finance department that pushes extended warranties, camping trailer was assembled extremely poorly, withheld financial term agreement and policy, included financial items in contact that I did not agree to, all documentation is incorrect and untruthful about delivery policy. I will never do business with them again
Desired outcome: Stop scamming people especially ones like my family and I that are Hurricane Ian victims that lost everything and had no other options but to purchase one or be homeless with a 3 year. I don’t want Camper Worlds extended warranty.
Installation of brand new awning
RV Awning:
Insurance claim/repair. Original Awning was ripped from motorhome. Instructed to take to Camping World in Springfield.
Issues:
1) No initial on site inspection, requst for measurement verification, or specific brand/model or Accessories asked of the customer.
2) Waited over 3 months for a Dometic Power Awning to be delivered. Brand stated by CW Service Manager (this was customer paid upgrade)
3) CW held unit over 2 weeks for install and completed installation of a 16' Carefree Power Awning(not Dometic) Original Awning was 17' Dometic Manual.
4) Awning fabric track was never repaired or replaced as it was spread open from previously ripped off.
5)Awning fabric track is leaking, Original bolt mounting was not sealed or addressed.
6) Awning track on walls installed crooked. 1/2" rise fall. And left Awning track cap is broken off and missing.
7) Awning track bolts not sealed when screwed in side of RV
8) Carefree awnings come with pre-wired track for LED and Accessories. CW installer simply cut and hid wires where they can not be used. At no point did CW contact about any Accessories as the RV owner would have wanted any possible options installed. EG wind sensor, LED lighting, ect.
Desired outcome: Desired outcome to be professional installed without any defects.
Trailer and Customer Service
There have been numerous occasions that we have had to take our camper back to Camping World to have problems resolved and they still to this day have not been resolved. Electrical wires, flooding due to a piece of plastic pipe been left in the drain from being cut with a hole saw (factory defect) all of the sewer water was under the insulation, overflowing in kitchen and shower, mold and mildew since the flooding, gas leaking as still leaking, refrigerator blowing fuses, tires blowing out and numerous other things. The ladies at Camping World refusing to keep the camper and trying to charge for things being done to the camper and it is still under warranty. We have purchased a Good Sam Membership and they still have not reimbursed us with the money that we spent on the 2 blowouts that we had. We have contacted and attorney in regards to all of these issues since no one will return our calls or make an attempt to address the issues. We have been more than patient about this whole situation and need to speak with someone in the corporate office in regards to this. Not to mention a trailer that was TOTALED due to Camping World causing the 2x4's to come out of the side of it, the remaining amount owed on that trailer was added to this camper which is a BIG PROBLEM. How do you total a trailer and then recharge someone for it? Please give me a call at [protected] or [protected]. I need something to be done ASAP!
Desired outcome: We would like to be out of this camper immediately due to the mold issues and the gas leak, because my husband has emphysema. We cannot camp in it in these conditions
