My ELDERLY parents moved to 263148 Wilder Lake Road, Durham, Southgate. They wanted to put up a mailbox and were told they couldnt.
There are at least 12 mailboxes to the WEST of their laneway and at least 6 mailboxes to the EAST of their laneway. IT MAKES NO SENSE why they cant put a mailbox in when there are already so many on their road.
Their laneway & road is a flat, safe area for postage delivery as others have mailboxes alread AND SNOW REMOVAL will not be a problem in the Winter Season.
I spoke with Diane and she emailed her DSO ? and he responded that they couldn't change from the community mailbox to a mailbox at the end of their laneway. Diane instructed me to put an online complaint in and her supervisor (Denise Hutchinson) would be in contact with me to possibly discuss this matter. My parents are 75 & 80 and are NOT picking up their mail on a regular basis from the community mailbox as it is INCONVENIENT!
The neighbours to the east (Dan & Alyssia Rogers) also said they would be fine with my parents putting a mailbox beside their mailbox if that made it easier for postal delivery.
Please may we speak with Denise Hutchinson and help make my parents move and postal delivery/pick up easier for them.
