Had Canadian Masonry Services rebuild the top 33 rows of my chimney. Great value for money, management was easy to deal with and they did a great job of matching the brick on a 1960s house. Crew was very professional and did an excellent job of cleaning up every day and after the project was completed. I have no hesitation in recommending the company for a masonry project.

Canadian Masonry Services went above and beyond my expectations. They quoted the requested job (chimney refurbishment and brick repointing around the house) and after I said it was more than I wanted to spend, they came up with a second option that was less expensive and worked better for me. The staff are very professional and the work is exceptional �" my place is a heritage home and the new bricks are indistinguishable from the originals (more than 140 years old). Only Masonry worth calling in Ottawa and surrounding areas!

We had pointing and repairs done on the following: bricks, stone porch, flagstone walkway and basement sills. Contact was initiated with a quote from Canadian Masonry Services which was thorough and carefully detailed with helpful advice and suggestions from their representative. Work was done quickly and efficiently by workers who knew what they were doing and took pride in their efforts. Everyone was professional, courteous and all work was well done. Very satisfied with their work and highly recommend Canadian Masonry Services.

We had a bunch of mason work needed on our old house, and Canadian Masonry Services was the only contractor that proposed doing it all the right way. For example, we had an old furnace chimney that was in bad shape, and the other contractors proposed tuck pointing it, which meant we would need to revisit it again in 10 years. Canadian Masonry Services proposed taking it down to the roofline and capping it, which was more work but the right way. We had our fireplace chimney completely rebuilt as well, and a new window cutout with a custom-made sill. Other work included cleaning paint off old brick and replacing and pointing any damaged mortar or stained bricks. All work was first rate, and the crew were very clean and professional. Price was not the cheapest, but far from the most expensive as well. Highly recommended.

We would like to highly recommend Canadian Masonry Services. All aspects of our interactions with their team, including John, Sarah, and the crew were exceptional. Our chimney needed repairs and partial rebuilding due to loosening and damaged bricks. John explained the proposed repairs in clear and patient detail during two visits to our home. Even though other clients were ahead of us in the queue, our work was completed within a week of accepting the estimate in order to secure the most similar bricks (which were in very short supply) through the only brick restoration supplier in the area. The work was very professionally completed in the anticipated two days and the area was meticulously cleaned both days. A new flashing was added past the face of the chimney to prevent further damage from water in the future. We are very happy with our experience with Canadian Masonry Services. Jane & Paul M.

I found Canadian Masonry Services on the company's official website and definitely agree with all the positive comments about this company. John, the estimator had 50+ years of experience and was very knowledgeable and explained everything in great depth. The entire team was the most friendly, accommodating and efficient group of professionals I have dealt with. My property had some spalling bricks behind a number of hydro conduits closed to the ground. Canadian Masonry Services was the only contractor that proposed fixing it the proper way (replacing the spalling bricks and covering the 4 bottom courses with metal flashing). This would save us headache and repeated brick repairs down the road. Other work included repointing arches above doors, replacing ground level spalling bricks with Adair Limestones and parging the sides of the front entrance stairway. All work was completedly professionally with the highest quality. The crew was great and cleaned up thoroughly. I have no hesitation recommending this company for masonry work.

We own several heritage rental units in Ottawa and had a terrible time getting anyone to respond to our requests for quotes. We do not live in Ottawa and felt we would have to leave without being able to arrange repairs. Then we found Canadian Masonry. The owner was fabulous. When she realized we were leaving the next day her estimator arrived within several hours. He gave us a lot of detail on steps we could take to mitigate future damage. He took photos and prepared the estimate on-site. The estimate was for work only and was very detailed. No deposit was required. We immediately booked the work. The owner communicates more quickly than even my friends do! Living a distance from the units was no problem. The owner communicated with our tenants, supplied photos of the finished work and completed the job as promised. This was not a large job for them, but they took it on, to our great relief. Multiple bricks were replaced, a pillar was replaced and an jack arch was repaired. We are so pleased and appreciative.

My neighbours and I contracted Canadian Masonry Services to fix the front stairs at our semi-detached houses. We went with Canadian Masonry based on their advice to install pre-cast concrete stairs rather than either parging or pouring concrete on site. The company representative conducted the estimate and was forthright with the information giving me a sense of that finally the saga of our cracking stairs could end. Delays were incurred due to COVID and so the project started about 8 weeks later than originally planned. The team came one day to remove the old stairs and set up for the new stairs. These workers were very professional. The site was left spotless and with multiple layers of cautions to make the site safe. A delay by the stair fabrication company outside of control of Canadian Masonry was the only snag. However, once the stairs were installed, Canadian Masonry spent two days ensuring the stairs were situated properly, the porch was parged and there was no evidence that these were newly installed stairs. Where sod had to be removed, the workers added new dirt. I even saw one of the workers brushing off the two pathways with a handheld brush. The company has a commitment to safety and to returning the site to its original state. Communications with the representative at the office were great and she even came out twice to ensure the job was going well. The representative returned on the last day for a final inspection. We would wholeheartedly recommend Canadian Masonry Services.

October 7 Three years ago, we met Canadian Masonry Services at a Home & Garden trade show in Ottawa. We presented a problem with our garage that was built back in 1947 and was starting to leak quite badly and some additional parging work around the front of the garage. Compounding the problem was a neighbour house where the brick wall was collapsing onto the top of our driveway roof. The neighbour was unhelpful and left it up to us if we wanted to fix the garage. We were able to complete the parging work right away (Canadian Masonry did a great job on this part) but had to hold off on the garage work until this year when the neighbours wall started its final collapse as the 150-year bricks were reduced to dust slowly. Canadian Masonry first sent in a team to demolish the partially collapsed wall on our neighbour's house and secure their wall with a plastic barrier. When the work site was safe, they then removed the old concrete from the top of the garage and the garage floor. A drain was installed running from the top of the garage through our garage and out onto the driveway for drainage. The trick was to pour a roof that allowed the water from the two houses to drain properly out to the street. A frame was built, two membranes were applied and then a very tricky pour was handled brilliantly. They also went the extra mile, checking my window sills around the brick work in our Circa 1910 house and fixing a bad hole under one window sill. We also learned that the Canadian Masonry team has been with the company for awhile and contained years of expertise. They have a combination of young and old staff but all very knowledgeable about concrete work. These guys are professionals. To say Canadian Masonry was brilliant is an understatement. We now have a garage floor where we can easily back out our motorcycles and car without problems and a garage roof not dripping calcium deposits onto the car. When it rains heavy the drain handles the water and the garage stays dry.
