My name is Carol Braxton, In January of 2021, I purchased a 2018 Jeep Compass Sport, via the online process, from CarMax. At the time of purchase, it was disclosed the vehicle had one previously reported accident, but it had been inspected and met the expectations of CarMax for resale.
About 9 months ago, I noticed the left front panel around the wheel area was much duller than the rest of the vehicle. I had the car detailed and hand waxed. The gentleman who did this for me showed me that the paint on that portion had been ground down completely and the panel is not even attached very well to the vehicle. He surmised that apparently the repair did not go well and was cosmetically altered by compounds etc. that in time faded away. It
I am quite upset about this. This was the first vehicle I ever purchased on my own and was very proud of it. CarMax provided great customer service. I have not had any other problems with the vehicle, until this.
I have gone from being proud of accomplishing this purchase on my own to feeling like a victim. I am paying $300 a month for 5 more years on a vehicle that looks terrible. I keep it washed and waxed, but that area stays looking horrible. I bought the vehicle used and only have the Maxcare Warranty, which only covers mechanical issues.
I very much hope that CarMax will restore my vehicle to how it is supposed to look – like it looked on the website when it was for sale, like it looked when they delivered it to me.
I have enclosed pictures and the CarFax report showing where the repair was done.
Thank you.

Desired outcome: The left front panel, that was not repaired properly, and hidden to hide that fact, be repainted. The repair shop's responsibility, but CarMax sold me it to me that it was fully repaired.
