Cedar Management Group The property manager does not return calls

The property manager does not return calls. The two receptionists were nice and tried to be helpful. It is the property manager who is failing. I tried to complete a survey that wasn't flattering and, for some reason, it couldn't be submitted. Hmmm.

We used them to manage our community in ***, . The service level has fallen off tremendously since they start. They do not honor their contractual obligations and we had to pay to get out of our contract even when our representative was a no show for our annual meeting! I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND TO USE THEM IN ANY WAY,SHAPE, OR FORM.

Bad Bad! Continual accounting problems on their end. They put you hold never to answer, leave a voice mail and get no return calls, send emails never get response. If and when you get through the answer is always we'll look into that or some caned answer.

All the complaints below ring true to my experiences with CMG. Poor, if any communication, no follow up or follow through, poor accounting practices and what seems to be a high rate of turnover (they're hiring several CMs and staff accountant rn according to Indeed).

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their accounting is comparable to that of a first grader; simply atrocious. They have double charged me for months I had already paid for. The manager at their central office is incredibly mean and incompetent, arbitrarily withholding landscaping services that are due to me according to my contract. I strongly advise staying far away from this company. I suspect this company operates in a mafia-like manner. My advice is to steer clear of them. The location in question is in Maryland.

Cedar Management Group Bad Bad! Continual accounting problems on their end

Bad Bad! Continual accounting problems on their end. They put you hold never to answer, leave a voice mail and get no return calls, send emails never get response. If and when you get through the answer is always we'll look into that or some caned answer.

Cedar Management Group are ABSOLUTELY THE RUDEST PEOPLE, unethical business practices, liars, complete disregard for homeowners. Say one thing but do the total opposite. Thr homeowners tell you what we have been told and we're told for years and they day that's impossible and disregard questions and yet say complaints were made by fellow homeowners yet there is not an HOA to enforce in the community. When homeowners were told their would never be an HOA in this community.

Cedar Mgmt promotes bully HOA's. Their site propaganda is nothing they formally follow. Their business model is to let HOA's do whatever they please, regardless of discrimination, and lack of any type of process. It's unfortunately the same lack of accountability that's going on every place in society. But at the end of the day it destroys the American dream of owning property that others make up rules for that only some have to follow.

Beware of Cedar Management Group! They have mishandled my monthly assessment twice in the past six months. I am on automatic payment with them and in 18 years I have lived here, I have never been late or missed a payment with any prior management company handling our accounts. This company has been a problem.

The first mistake: they showed I "missed" my July payment and applied late fees. I did not miss that payment, but I had to have my bank provide proof of them cashing the transmitted e-check. This was finally fixed and fees waived, but it took too long and too many tries.

This time, Cedar just "returned" my December payment to my bank with no notification to me and no explanation given. This left me with an active balance right at the due date. So, I had to make an "online" payment which includes a processing fee to prevent a past due situation.

I have made multiple attempts to talk with an accounting manager and after a week - no luck. I have used every avenue of contact available - emailed, tried the "chat" option on their website, left messages with their support team, left voicemails and even reached out to our community representative. Not one person has responded. Of greater concern to me, when I look at my monthly statement on their website, the returned payment does not show up at all. I would think standard accounting practices would dictate there should have been an "in and out" entry on the accounting side. I truly do not trust Cedar's handling of my account going forward.

I will continue to pursue this.

I own a condo that Community Management "manages". On September 10th they drafted an additional $*** out of my account and said they had been charging me the incorrect regime fees all year; however, the 2020 Operating Budget shows that I have been paying the correct amount all year round. This caused my rental account to go into the negative as I only keep enough money in there to pay the regime and insurance. I contacted CMG and was able to obtain the property manager Katana's phone number. I spoke with her and then she sent me a text message on September 17 stating "I've submitted the request for the corrections. Once I receive it I will send it to you. It should be done today." Here we are over a month later and the issue has not been corrected. They drafted the incorrect amount out of my account again in October. At that time I cancelled my auto draft and I just received the November bill still showing the incorrect regime fee that directly contradicts the 2020 Operating Budget. I can not get anyone in the accounting department to give me the professional courtesy of a phone call. Instead when I send emails I'm told by Rabiah M to not send multiple emails as it pushes me to the back of the line. This is beyond unprofessional. They are paid to do a service which they fail to do.

This business is a joke. I think they ripe communities off on HOA fees and never provide service. They will response to emails but NEVER TAKE ACTION! They tell you what you want to hear and it never goes anywhere from there. We continue to has issues with cut through traffic, parking issues and drug paraphernalia being found through the community and when a suggestion is made there is always a NO! Suggested speed humps.. NO! suggested a gate being put at the pool parking to stop people from using the area to park to do drugs.. NO! Asked for a 4- way stop.. Not sure yet! I will never live in a community with them as the property management again! I think they pocket most of the money.. For them to get nearly $200k in fees and all we get is a pool and a few bails of pine needles.. doesn't add up. Not to count the new phase being built bringing in another $31k Contacted office manager and have a hard time doing so when I cant seem to get past her guard. I will not go away this time, I will continue to fight for my community and the children in it.

They have not communicated in a timely manor about exterior building repairs of condo unit. Repairs requested early May and they have yet to have repairs address. Only auto replies and no one answer the phone. They are the worst of HOA's. Why any community would pay them for such lack of service and common courtesy.

I have lived in Southbrook for almost 3 years, and I currently became a member of the Board of Directors. I'm amazed and impressed with all that Deanna W does for our community. She's quick to answer my questions and arrange for maintenance issues to be corrected. Her calm demeanor is also a plus when discussing sensitive issues. I truly appreciate Deanna and enjoy working with her!

Its funny that every good review I read is from someone that works with this company and every bad review is from an owner who actually has to live with them. I am not sure if it's Cedar Management Group or just the Churchill Downs Association I am affiliated with, but I have not been happy with this HOA for several months now. This is a long story so buckle up. I have lived in the Churchill Downs Community for about a year and a half and have nothing but disappointments throughout this time. The only thing I can say positive about this community is the one maintenance request I put in about flooding sidewalks. They fixed that pretty fast, but everything else has been a snail walk. It started when we had new siding done on a few buildings in the neighborhood. There were two buildings and a clubhouse that was being redone and that meant that everyone had to put everything from their BALCONIES/PATIOS (remember that it will be important later on) and move it inside. Having such small places, there isn't a lot of room to put a whole balconies worth of stuff in your apartment, so they suggested moving it all to the center of the balcony so nothing got ruined. after waiting 3 weeks and nothing had been done to the building , I called and asked my manager, Andrew, what was going on. The flyer they sent out said it would only last a few weeks. He told me that they had just finished the other two buildings and would be to mine soon. I asked what the deal was about leaving our stuff inside vs. on the patio and he said it was only so no paint got on anything while they were doing the outside walls. I asked him, specifically, if there was anything that was going to be done to my patio and he said no. I made sure that's what he said and he confirmed with me that NOTHING WAS TO BE DONE TO MY PATIO. Two days later, my boyfriend came home and informed me that everything on the patio was soaking wet from the pressure washing they did. I called Andrew back, obviously very angry, and he said that there was nothing he could do because I was "informed that I needed to take everything off my patio" even though he specifically told me nothing was going to happen to it, it was only going to be the outside panels. We ended up getting new paint on our patios, but not new siding like they told us. I later learned that it was only the units that were facing the outside that got new panels, because people could see them. They are skimping on theirs projects and only doing what everyone else can see. This whole endeavor lasted over 2 months when they said it would last only 4 weeks. in addition to this, several of my things were ruined and they have not taken responsibility for any of it. fast forward a few months and its December. I get a notice in the mail that my autopay for the fees has not gone through. But the kicker is it didn't go through in November and I didn't get a letter/phone call/ email about it until almost CHRISTMAS! So as soon as they open back up in January, I give them a call to sort this out. After several weeks of trying to get someone on the phone and trying to communicate through email (they are horrible at communication), we come to an agreement that Nov, Dec, and Jan payments were to be paid in full and everything would be settled. I sent that payment in and the next month, I get a bill for over 400! I call in to ask why and go through all my payments and some 6 months later we find out that someone missed a separate payment for Oct. and I wasn't told until Feb. 6 MONTHS LATER and after agreeing to settle my debt to them, they inform me that I owe them more money. It took them almost 3 months to inform me my payments didn't come through and then just now I am learning of a new one. I have paid them all (6 months of payments in the loan of a few weeks) and now everything is settled. I have left out so many other things, like emails and phone calls that were just upsetting, but I just want everyone to know what horrible and greedy organization this HOA is. All they care about is the bottom line and they have no respect for the people that live under their rule. It's their way or the highway. Now every time that I call in, its an answering service and no one is actually there to help. They'll "call you back" but they never do. I always have to call back in order to have someone talk to me. I actually had to cry on the phone several times for anything to every happen.

Cedar Management Group I have just finished my first year as a HOA board member

I have just finished my first year as a HOA board member. It has been a happy experience being assisted by Cedar management group, and especially community manager Deanna W. who was beyond value in assisting the board with a contractor who through his knowledge and expertise removed and reroofed our entire community under an insurance claim that saved our community thousands of dollars. I am a contractor for Cedar Management Group and after a 4 year relationship with them I am totally satisfied. I have several communities that I work in. Suzanne E is the manager in a few of the communities. Working with her has been a pleasure. Communication is great and she gets back to me in a timely basis. When things are brought to her attention she gets on it right away and solves the problem. Calling her after hours is never an issue which is a positive. I wish I had more clients like this one.

Cedar Management Group Being the President of the Board of The Southbrook Villas is a privilege and a task at the same time

Being the President of the Board of The Southbrook Villas is a privilege and a task at the same time. The privilege is far greater than the task as Cedar Mgt. is entirely dependable at all times. This is the third year serving as president and without Cedar Mgt., that would not be possible. Their support to our Board is amazing. To be fair, our community manager, Deanna W., is to be blamed for the successful management of our community, always there for my questions and their answers as well as sharing her organizational skills which we are grateful. If Deanna doesn't have the advice we depend on, she knows where to get it. She has aided us in making good, sound decisions, all of which have benefitted the Board and the community. Thank you Cedar and THANK YOU Deanna.

Cedar Management Group I would like to report the continuing harassment from one of your HOA board members

I would like to report the continuing harassment from one of your HOA board members. My significant other and myself live in a residential community managed by Cedar Management Group. He occasionally works from home (less than 3 days/week), during normal business hours. He is a professional audio engineer. Our neighbor (who is on the HOA board) has called CMPD (Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department) multiple times for "loud music", during the middle of the day. Upon their assessment, along with the noise level being checked regularly with an approved decibel meter, they have reassured us we are well within the City's Noise Ordinance and the neighbor's complaints are unwarranted-suggesting harassment. In addition to multiple false police reports, our neighbor has now contacted our Property Management company and the homeowner, wrongfully claiming there have been "multiple complaints to the HOA about the noise" and threatening a "hearing" - despite not being in violation of any provided bylaws or regulations. We would like the harassment to stop.

Cedar Management Group (CMG) has yet to give a specific timeline on repairing a fire hazard issue that is also a building code violation. CMG does not return calls either. CMG is negligent in regards to dealing with a fire hazard related to our unit. A previous owner of the unit has also alerted them to this hazard and they have not rectified the problem. According to North Carolina building code, not only is this a fire hazard but it's a violation. I have left multiple messages, my wife has sent emails, and I have spoken to multiple customer service agents yet no one can give me a call back. Nikki K, as the community manager, told a customer service agent on 03/02 that she was going to call me back directly, that call hasn't come yet. The day before I was told by a customer service agent that the maintenance manager was going to call me back, that call never came. We have had to spend upwards of $200 for service professionals to tell us that only the community HOA can fix the issue because of lack of access to the affected area. The HOA has given us the timeline of "sometime between middle and end of March" to fix the issue but has not given us a reasonable expectation of resolution considering the severity of the issue.
