Beware of Chatdeal: Deceptive Pricing and Unauthorized Charges
So, I was looking for a good deal on flights for my family trip to Southeast Asia and stumbled upon Chatdeal through Kayak.com. At first, I was impressed with the price they showed me, which was $5,600+ for 4 round trip tickets. I went ahead and entered all my information, including my credit card details, with the intention of booking the tickets. However, when I clicked on the "place order" button, the price suddenly changed to $9,000+! I was shocked and immediately decided not to proceed with the booking.
But then, to my surprise, I saw a pending charge of $5,600+ on my credit card from Chatdeal. I received an email from them with an invoice and a link to "my booking", but when I clicked on the link, it showed that my booking was cancelled. I couldn't believe it! They had charged me for a booking that I never even completed, and then cancelled it themselves.
It's really frustrating to deal with a company like Chatdeal, who lure you in with a great price and then try to scam you into paying more. I had to call my credit card company to dispute the charge, which was a hassle and a waste of time. I hope others can learn from my experience and avoid using Chatdeal for their travel needs.
Beware of Third-Party Booking Services: My Experience with Chatdeal and Kayak.com
I recently booked my honeymoon flights through kayak.com, but little did I know that they outsourced to a third party called Chatdeal. After booking my flight, I received several emails from Chatdeal about schedule changes. However, when I logged into their system to "acknowledge" the changes, I couldn't find anything to accept or acknowledge. It was as if nothing had changed at all.
When my partner and I landed in Frankfurt for our connecting flight to Venice, we were unable to check in. The Lufthansa staff informed us that Chatdeal had booked us for the first leg of our flight from Seattle to Frankfurt, and then the second leg of the trip they booked us a Venice to Frankfurt flight. This made absolutely no sense, and none of our itineraries or emails from Chatdeal showed this error.
We immediately called the Chatdeal help line provided on our itinerary, but we were told that there was nothing they could do for us because we had never acknowledged the emails they sent. I tried to explain the situation, but the service rep kept repeating the same thing over and over again: "you didn't acknowledge the changes." At one point, I even asked the service rep if I was stranded in Germany and if there was nothing they could do to help me make this right. He replied, "that's not what I'm saying, but you didn't acknowledge the flight changes."
In the end, we had to seek help from the airline, Lufthansa, which went above and beyond to help us get on another flight even though it wasn't their error. This whole experience felt like a scam, and I will never use kayak.com again. Consumers and airlines alike should be upset about the service that Chatdeal provides. We shouldn't have had to go through this ordeal on our honeymoon, and Lufthansa shouldn't have had to step in and fix Chatdeal's mistakes.
Overall, I would not recommend using Chatdeal or any third-party booking service. It's better to book directly with the airline to avoid any potential issues.
Luck you and thanks to Lufthansa.
I'm on similar situation with a returning flight back to JFk. Sitting at naples airport , just bought a return from Lufthansa because chatdeal simply canceled my flight according to ITA airways. The airline blames them and they blame the airline.
So people reading this , I hope you don't buy off them , don't be another victim.
Beware of Chatdeal: A Scam Booking Company Collaborating with Kayak
Chatdeal is a booking company that I recently had the misfortune of dealing with. I thought I had booked my flight through Kayak, but it turns out that I ended up with Chatdeal instead. I had to cancel my flight with British Airways due to Covid restrictions in Europe, and that's when the trouble began.
I received an email from Chatdeal stating that I needed to use my credit by April 2023. However, I later received another email stating that I needed to use it by September 30th, 2023. This was confusing, as British Airways had extended credits for tickets canceled during Covid until September 2024. In fact, my son had booked his ticket directly with British Airways and was told that his credit could be used until 2024.
I have been in contact with a Chatdeal agent named Drew since the beginning of April 2023 to book a ticket and use my credit. However, Drew informed me that my credit had expired and that I needed to contact British Airways. He also told me that it would take two weeks for British Airways to respond. Even though I had an email from another Chatdeal agent named Claud confirming that my credit was still valid until April 30th, 2023, Drew told me that Claud had made a mistake. This seemed like a scam to me, and I believe that Chatdeal trains its agents to cheat customers and do whatever it takes to scam them.
As a result, I lost $900 to this scam company, and I believe that Kayak is also involved in this scam. Kayak collaborates with Chatdeal without notifying customers that their booking is being redirected to a third-party company. This makes Kayak an accomplice in this scam. I no longer trust Kayak as a reliable search website for booking flights.
I plan to contact the Better Business Bureau and use all other means to make people aware of this scam company. It's important to warn others about Chatdeal and their dishonest practices.
Disappointing Experience with Chatdeal Travel Agency: Flight Cancellations and Negligence
Me and my three kids, all under 18, were super excited to book a flight from Florida to Vietnam via Chatdeal, a travel agency. We booked the flight for December 24, 2022, and since May 22, we have received 10 schedule changes. At first, we were okay with the changes, and Chatdeal communicated with us and re-booked our trips for the first six schedule changes. However, on November 22, Chatdeal made a correction on one of the segments of the flight, which made it impossible for us to fly. The flight was changed from Frankfurt to Singapore, landing at 5:15 pm, while the connecting flight from Singapore to Vietnam started at 3 pm on the same day. I don't know how it's possible for the agent to make such changes, but then we received emails saying it has to be canceled.
I had to call the travel agency and Singapore airline 15 times to learn why the flight was canceled and begged them to look for other options. Since December 1, 2022, my flight got changed three more times, and now it must be split to fly. My kids are all under the age of 18, so there's no option but to cancel the flight. The travel agency did not act fast enough to confirm the seats, and the airline put us on the waitlist, but within one hour, there were no seats left. The travel agency needs 24-48 hours and a supervisor to approve the changes, confirm the seats, and issue the tickets. We were assigned to six different travel agents every 2-3 days or so, but we never got to speak to them as they were computer-generated agents. We called and spent 30 hours on many different days to try to understand what went wrong. We asked to speak to a supervisor, but we never received a call back. We sent out 15 emails in total, but nobody replied.
On top of that, the travel agency put in a deadline of December 6, 2022 (which is today), and if seats are not confirmed, the tickets will be canceled. We are so disappointed and heartbroken because we can't travel to Vietnam due to the travel agency messing up our connecting flights and negligence. If we want to book another flight, it'll cost $15,000 for all four of us. We tried to save money by booking it way in advance in May 22, but now we are beyond angry and so stressed out. We feel like we have been let down by Chatdeal, and we would not recommend them to anyone.
Nightmare Experience with Chatdeal: Dishonesty, Poor Customer Service, and Refund Issues
I had a really bad experience with Chatdeal when I tried to cancel my Ethiopian Airlines flight that I booked through Kayak and Chatdeal. I spoke to a representative named Jamie who told me that he couldn't help me because a "team" was already working on my issue. I explained to him that I had only inquired about possibly canceling my flight and that was many weeks ago. He then told me that he couldn't process the refund and that I would have to go through Ethiopian Airlines. I spent an hour on the phone with Ethiopian Airlines and they told me that Chatdeal had to process the refund. Jamie then said that he couldn't give me any refund and that I should allow a callback from the "team" so they could get me my full refund, or at least better than the less $350/ticket Ethiopian quoted me. I asked to talk to a supervisor, but Jamie really tried to NOT have me talk to a supervisor, even offering to process my refund right then (which he said he was incapable of doing). I urged him politely to put me through to a supervisor. I have now been holding for 23 minutes. I believe I may have been left on hold indefinitely out of spite.
I got the feeling that Jamie, who said his name was Jamie and was not allowed to give his employee number, was either afraid for his own record to put me through, felt he was expected to put me off by supervisors as company policy to avoid as long as possible giving my rightfully-owed refund. It is a shame. Kayak is an awesome company, but I won't use them again after this experience. I spent over four hours on the phone yesterday TRYING to get someone to work with me and now you're concerned? I've received several phone calls and emails after the fact, bit I could not get anyone to communicate with me yesterday ? just continually put on hold.
I was told by Ethiopian airlines my refund on my $2000+ purchase would be my purchase price less $700. Chatdeal lied and told me Ethiopian airlines was charging over $1000 in fees and only offered me $750 on my $2000+ purchase. THAT IS THIEVERY. And the fact that I've got your representatives trying so hard to contact me after giving me no customer service yesterday is ridiculous. No one will deal with you a second time. Kayak, I predict, will be severing their association with you. This is literally the worst travel company I've ever dealt with by far ? no one comes close ? and I've travelled to over sixty countries. Never do business with these people. They are dishonest and a nightmare.
Shady Business: My Disappointing Experience with Chatdeal's Customer Service
I gotta say, I'm not impressed with Chatdeal at all. I mean, how can they have such a high rating on Trustpilot when everywhere else they're getting one or two stars? In my opinion, they deserve a big fat zero.
So here's what happened. I booked a roundtrip ticket to Ecuador, right? And then last weekend, they send me an email and a text message saying there's been a change to my itinerary. But when I try to open the link in the text message, it doesn't work. So I contact their customer service through online chat and they tell me that my return flight has been cancelled. I ask them what my options are, but they don't offer me anything except to say they'll prioritize my case. I'm not convinced, so I go to the airline's website and find out that my flight is still running, just with a higher price. I tell Chatdeal I want a refund, but they say I can't get a full refund because of some "analysis" they did. So now I'm disputing the transaction with my bank.
Honestly, this company is so shady. They purposely made the link in the text message not work so that I would have to contact them and they could try to convince me to take a replacement flight instead of a refund. And if I had taken that option, they would have said I forfeited my right to a refund. They should have just given me all my options from the beginning, instead of trying to trick me. And now they're saying I'm not entitled to a full refund because of some code that's missing from my ticket. Like, why didn't they tell me that before I requested a refund?
And to top it all off, the agent who was responsible for the schedule change, Shannon, didn't even apologize. She acted like it was no big deal, just a change of flight number. Like, seriously? I'm so disappointed in Chatdeal and I would never use them again.
Terrible Experience with Chatdeal: Hidden Fees, Poor Customer Service, and Lost Money
I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with Chatdeal. So, I booked a flight through Kayak for May 16th, 2022, but had to cancel the day before. When I called Chatdeal to cancel, they told me I had to pay $300 to cancel. That's a lot of money, you know? So, I decided to call Jetblue instead, and they cancelled the trip and gave me an open ticket that's good for a whole year. I thought that was pretty cool, you know? But then, when I tried to rebook my trip with Chatdeal, they told me they had to contact the airline to get authorization to rebook. The rep said he would call me back in 24 hours, and he did, but then he told me I had to pay a $200 no show fee that Egyptair was charging. I agreed to pay it, but then the rep quoted me a much higher price for the new trip, even though I saw the same flight on Kayak for less. He said that was a discounted price and I wasn't eligible for it. I tried to rebook through Egyptair, but they told me my ticket was being held by Golden Travel & Tours, a company I never heard of and didn't book my trip with. When I called Chatdeal back, they told me they had to get authority from the airline again, even though the first rep told me he spoke with the airline in May. The rep said he would call me back in 72 hours, but then he didn't, so I called Chatdeal back and was connected to Jamie. He then said he hadn't heard back from the airline yet. At that point, I asked him for a supervisor. He said the next supervisor that is available would call me in the next 2 hours. A supposed supervisor called me 4 hours later and was telling me the same thing about Chatdeal needing authority from the airline. I asked the Chatdeal rep who Golden Travel & Tours was because I didn't book my flight with them. He said that was their inside company that helps them book flights. I was so mad at this point and told him I wanted to rebook my flight or for them to refund my money. The last rep told me because I cancelled my flight with the airline and not Chatdeal, he was closing my ticket and I was losing my $1476.86. I found out that there are many other reports online that have had similar situations as mine. I really hope the corporate officers at Kayak respond to this matter and resolve it soon.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Chatdeal for International Flights
I recently booked a flight on Chatdeal for a trip from Seattle to Tokyo and Bangalore, with a return trip on the same route. However, two weeks before my travel date, I discovered that part of my return ticket had been moved to July 30th, while my connection flight remained the same on July 29th. I was not notified of this change by Chatdeal or Japan Airlines, and had I not checked my reservation, I would have missed my connecting flight.
After several unsuccessful attempts to reach Japan Airlines customer service, I turned to Chatdeal for assistance. It took a day to receive a response, but the agent, Kylian, suggested that I update my entire reservation and switch to different connections with 2-3 hops. I was not pleased with this solution, as I had booked my reservation four months in advance and did not want to travel for 40 hours with my family.
When I suggested that Kylian look for a flight from NRT to SEA on July 30th, he was able to assist and update my return journey. While I appreciated Kylian's help, I was left wondering why Chatdeal did not take care of this issue themselves or provide me with the best solution from the start.
To make matters worse, my outbound flight from NRT to BLR was moved to June 30th from June 29th, without moving my flight from SEA to NRT on June 28th. This meant that I had a layover of 26 hours in Japan, and as Japan does not provide any transit visa, I had to stay in the airport for 26 hours with my family.
When I spoke to Chatdeal agent Leo, I was strongly advised to reach out to Japan Airlines customer service to fix this issue. However, after several attempts and three hours of waiting, I was told by a Japan Airlines agent that they could not do anything about it as the ticket was booked through Chatdeal. Kylian and Leo then told me that Chatdeal could not do anything about it as the change was made by Japan Airlines. I was left in a mess, and even when I suggested changing my flight to take a connection through San Francisco, San Diego, or LA, Leo told me that domestic flights could not be handled by Chatdeal, which was incorrect information.
I called Chatdeal again and spoke to Veris, who was able to update my flights based on Japan Airlines customer service instructions. However, even after this change, I did not see any updates on Kayak or the Chatdeal site, but the Japan Airlines website was updated on the same day.
Overall, my family's travel plans were severely affected by these changes. I had to reschedule my reservation, cancel my India domestic flight, and start our journey at 5 AM instead of 1:30 PM, resulting in a travel time of 29.2 hours instead of 21 hours. It was a frustrating and stressful experience, and I hope that Chatdeal can improve their communication and customer service in the future.
Chatdeal Review: Involuntary Flight Change and Refund Process
Me and my hubby decided to give Chatdeal a try for the first time through Kayak, which is apparently a fourth party search engine for flights and car rentals. We were planning our honeymoon to Peru and everything was going smoothly until we received a notification from the airline that the flight itinerary has changed, and we will be flying into Chile for a 12h layover, not arriving to Lima, Peru until the next day. This was not going to work for our schedule and itinerary, but LATAM offered a no cost to us change of flight itinerary and full refund if desired. We started the process to complete the cancellation and refund through LATAM, but because we went through a third party dealer, we had to go through Chatdeal for the refund.
When we initially reached out to Chatdeal, it took us a while to get a hold of someone who could help us with the refund. We would not have been so upset if someone would have told us that someone would reach out in 24h, but they had us keep waiting on the chat line, which wasted our night. Then through the saga of customer service, we had many different answers to the same question. And they told us there would be a $200 processing fee for an involuntary change. My husband and I were very confused about this as their website said their would be a $50 processing fee/passenger on the cancellation/refund section of their website. $100 would be frustrating, but the price quoted was double. This was infuriating since this was an involuntary change, not our fault, so we reached out again for clarification.
The hold times are long, which is generally the case with most companies these days, but we were able to get a hold of someone. After reaching out multiple times, Chatdeal has been responsive to our concerns and questions, but they cannot change their cancellation/refund policy. I get this, but it does not make us ever want to go through third parties again unless I know exactly what will happen if something goes wrong. The pandemic has obviously created a lot of stressors, but companies like Chatdeal need to be more explicit with what will happen in the event of a cancellation prior to booking.
As a consumer, I wish I did not have to be a jack of all trades and go to multiple areas on a website to find the fine print and the cancellation/refund policy. We completely understand the cancellation/refund policy in the event that we would cancel for a different reason, but in this case it was involuntary, not our fault for the airline itinerary change. Because of the improvements in customer service we have received since our complaints, I am changing my review from a 1 star to a 3 star since Chatdeal is trying their best to work with me after I was able to get a hold of them.
The wait time can be 2 to 4 wks though for refunds since it has go through the airline, Chatdeal servicing company, and my credit card company, so I will update my review as I find out more information related to this event. As of right now I am satisfied with the attempts by Chatdeal to connect with me and clarify details related to the refund. Unfortunately though, my husband and I will not be going through third parties after this. We want to involve as few people as possible in our affairs. When there are too many cooks in the kitchen, things fall through the cracks and the experience worsens.
Update: Chatdeal was able to work with us to get our full refund with the $50 processing fee waived. I still maintain my review, but their customer service was much improved over the course of our interaction.
Avoid Chatdeal: My Nightmare Experience with Booking a Flight
I just had to share my experience with Chatdeal, and let me tell you, it was not a good one. I recently booked a round trip flight from Detroit to the Faroe Islands through KAYAK, which routed me to Chatdeal. Little did I know, this would be the start of a nightmare.
On the day of my outbound flight, I received a text from United stating that my flight to Newark at 6:30pm via United Airlines was cancelled. I immediately tried to call both Chatdeal and the airline, but the wait times were incredibly long. After waiting for over 30 minutes, I finally spoke with a representative from Chatdeal named Redington. He assured me that there should be no issues boarding the plane from Newark to Copenhagen, even though the first leg of my itinerary was cancelled.
I then received a notification that my Delta flight was delayed from 5:45pm to 7:30pm while in line to board the plane. I called Redington again to ask about the delay and the possibility of missing my connection. He reassured me that as long as my connection was at least 1 hour and 15 minutes, I should be able to deplane, pick up my baggage, and check in for my international SAS flight.
However, things only got worse from there. I boarded the plane to Newark, but was notified of another delay until 9pm. I had to deplane and ended up cancelling my first two nights of hotel in the Faroe Islands, which cost me $155. I then spoke with an agent at the Delta gate regarding the delay and requested to cancel my flight and pull my carry-on luggage off the plane as I would be missing my connecting flight. She reassured me that my baggage would be diverted to carousel 5.
I then spoke with Ambros from Chatdeal, who informed me that the next available flight would be on May 22nd. I made a tentative request for this itinerary, but it was not confirmed yet. I took a shuttle from McNamara terminal to Evans terminal to speak with a representative at United Airlines regarding the possibility of being on the next available flight to the Faroe Islands, but the counter was closed. I then took a shuttle back to McNamara terminal to check on my luggage.
After waiting for almost 2 hours, I checked with the Delta baggage center and was informed that my bags were still on the plane. I then spoke with Redington again to confirm that I wanted to rebook my trip from Detroit to the Faroe Islands on May 22nd, and put in a request. The new outbound itinerary was all via SAS airlines.
The next day, I spoke with Norma from Chatdeal, who was incredibly unhelpful. I had to call her multiple times and spent several hours on hold trying to resolve the issue and be booked on a new flight. She told me that they were unable to rebook me on the new flight as the original itinerary had two different airlines and the new outbound flight was only via SAS. I requested a refund for the entire itinerary, but she told me that it would take 3 weeks.
Overall, my experience with Chatdeal was a complete disaster. They were slow to help me with my itinerary, even after expressing multiple concerns. I had to call multiple times and spent several hours on hold trying to resolve the issue and be booked on a new flight. If they were able to resolve the issue or tell me that I could not be rebooked in a timely manner, I could have cancelled my itinerary with them and rebooked a new flight, but with their slowness, I wasn't able to book a new flight that would land in the Faroe Islands and give me a reasonable amount of time to explore the country.
I had been planning this trip for a year in advance and only had one week of vacation. To say that they ruined my only vacation is an understatement. I highly recommend avoiding doing business with Chatdeal at all costs. They will not help you if there are any issues with your flight.

ChatDeal: Terrible Customer Service and Extra Charges for Their Mistake
So, I had a flight booked through Kayak for Turkish Airlines flight from Texas to Slovenia and then back from Budapest. One leg of the schedule was cancelled so I had to go to the ChatDeal site to find a new flight. Finally, I found a flight to replace the cancelled one but didn't notice that the website had changed our departure date as well. We later noticed our flight was leaving on Monday instead of Sunday and we had been charged an additional $1700.
We contacted ChatDeal to correct the issue and the chat said they had issued a ticket to have it rescheduled back. Got an email saying the issue had been resolved but there was no change. This happened three times before we dealt with the impossible phone system. My wife eventually talked to someone who said that since we had approved the change they wouldn't do anything about it. After she got angry with them they told her a manager would call the next day to correct the issue. No call occurred.
I just got off the phone after two hours and 5 transfers only to be told the same story. Even though it was their website that screwed up they wouldn't change our flight back unless we paid another $1700 for another change fee. It was their screwup but they won't make an easy fix.
I must say, ChatDeal is a truly awful company. They messed up our flight schedule and charged us extra money for their mistake. Even after contacting them multiple times, they didn't fix the issue and their customer service was terrible. It's really frustrating when a company doesn't take responsibility for their mistakes and instead puts the burden on the customer. I would not recommend using ChatDeal for any travel bookings.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Chatdeal: Lack of Communication and Assistance
I recently used Chatdeal to book a trip to Europe, but unfortunately, my return flight to the US was cancelled by the airline. When I contacted the airline, they referred me to Chatdeal, as they were supposedly my travel agent. However, I soon found out that if I had booked directly with the airline, they would have been able to rebook me on another flight.
I tried calling the ChatDeal phone number, but it just pushed me to the chat site. The chat site, in return, told me to call the number again. It was a Catch 22 situation. I 'chatted' with multiple people, and each time they told me that they would get back to me 'shortly' or very 'shortly' or within 24 hours. But it has been more than 24 hours, and I have not heard from them.
Eventually, I got a different chat agent who gave me a different number to call. I called them, and now I have been on hold for more than 3 hours. My original flight (which was cancelled) was for seven this morning, and now it is almost noon. I am quickly running out of options, and soon there will be no flights out of Copenhagen that can get me back to the states. In the meantime, I am on hold and waiting, waiting, waiting. I am sitting at a street-side cafe, wondering whether I should try to get a hotel room for tonight and continue to wait, or buy a ticket and just go. What a waste!
I am very frustrated and disappointed with Chatdeal's service. The lack of communication and assistance has left me in a difficult situation. I understand that things can go wrong, but the lack of support and guidance from Chatdeal has made the situation worse. I hope they can improve their customer service in the future, as it would make a big difference to their customers.
Booking with Chatdeal (Kayak) during COVID: A Nightmare with Air India
So, I made a mistake by booking my flight through Chatdeal (Kayak) during the COVID pandemic. It was my second mistake that I chose Air India as my airline, which was a combination with Kayak. Due to the current COVID situation, my flight connection became too short, and it became even shorter because of a slight change in the flight by Air India. The minimum layover time required was 6 hours, but this number kept changing between 6 and 8 hours.
It has been six days since I first contacted them, and I have not received any response to my repeated emails. They are waiting for Air India to check if I can refund my tickets, but there is no update yet. I am in desperation as less than 72 hours are left, and I have no idea what is going to happen. I am willing to reschedule to a later date, but this is even worse. They can only reschedule to a flight with a higher fare, which is way too costly than my current price. It seems like they are only interested in getting more business and money, without any regards to my situation. It's not even my fault that the layover requirement has changed, but they are not willing to help.
If it was some other airline, other than Air India, then apparently they could conveniently do it. I am giving up my hope because Air India also does not care since I booked it with Kayak. I would suggest not to book with Chatdeal (Kayak) during the COVID pandemic. It's too much stress, and it's better to book with the airline directly. Perhaps there is hope there.
Terrible Customer Service: My Disastrous Experience with Chatdeal
I gotta say, Chatdeal is the worst. Their customer service is just plain awful. My hubby and I booked some tickets for a trip in August 2022 way back in March. We got a bunch of emails about changes to our schedule after we booked, but we finally got a confirmation in May that everything was good to go. So we headed out on our trip, and we had some trouble checking in, but we eventually made it to our destination. But when it was time to come back home, we found out that our flight didn't even exist! Can you believe that? They sold us a ticket for a flight that wasn't even on the airline's schedule. So we had to get rebooked, but we ended up with an extra connection in a new country and a layover that was way too long. It took us two whole days to get home, and we had to spend almost 500 extra bucks on taxis, hotels, and food. When I tried to get in touch with Chatdeal's customer service to get some reimbursement for their mistake, they told me twice that someone would get back to me within 24 hours, but nobody ever did. It's just ridiculous. Don't ever book with Chatdeal, because if anything goes wrong, they'll act like they care and promise to fix it, but they won't follow through. I hope this review helps some of you avoid the crappy experience we had with this booking agency.
Chatdeal's Shady Business Practices: My Experience with Canceling a Flight
This company, Chatdeal, is doing some shady stuff and it's not cool. I booked a flight with them for Singapore Airlines in June 2022, with the flight set to leave in November of the same year. But then in October, my daughter had to have surgery for a fractured hip socket. I asked Chatdeal if I could cancel and rebook for July 2023, after all her surgeries were done. They said yes and sent me a link to pay for the new flight.
But when I tried to pay this year, the link didn't work anymore. I talked to a rep and they said I had to confirm with the airline again that the change could be made. But now they're saying the airline won't honor any changes to my flight and that I have to fly by June 29, even though I asked for a flight on July 11. And get this, they're saying if I don't rebook my business class flight, I lose my ticket altogether. What kind of nonsense is that?
They haven't even offered to use my medical reason for cancelation, even though the airline accepts it as a valid reason. And they haven't given me any details on their correspondence with the airline or offered to use my medical documentation to help me out. Now they're not even responding to my requests for more information and I had to hire a lawyer to deal with this mess. It's just not right.
I really hope there's some kind of regulatory entity that can put a stop to this kind of scammy behavior. I'll be seeking a resolution in some form, because this is just not okay.
Chatdeal's Poor Customer Service and High Fees for Flight Changes
Monday 13,2021
I gotta say, dealing with Chatdeal has been a real pain in the butt. I was all set to board my American Airlines flight, but then they denied me because I didn't have the right PCR documents. So I had to go back home and try to figure out what to do next.
American Airlines said they would rebook me, but then they didn't. So I called up JAL, the second carrier on my flight, and they told me I had to go through the travel agency. And then KAYAK told me the same thing, so I ended up going to Chatdeal.
I tried emailing them and using their chat line, but nothing seemed to work. Finally, I called their 800 number and explained the whole situation to them. They said they would look into it.
Tues. 14,2021
So I finally got an email from a representative named Vicki. And let me tell you, I was not happy with what she had to say. Basically, she told me that I had to pay a total of $974.80 in order to exchange my ticket. That included a $600 administrative penalty and a difference in fare and taxes of $374.80. And even then, they couldn't guarantee that I would get a seat.
And get this - they wouldn't even take responsibility for not notifying passengers about the Covid regulations. Like, seriously? That's not cool at all.
So yeah, I'm pretty frustrated with Chatdeal right now. It's been a real hassle trying to get everything sorted out, and I'm not even sure if I'm going to be able to get on my flight. Ugh.
Terrible Customer Service Experience with Chatdeal: Waiting for Flight Confirmation for Almost a Month
I got an email from Chatdeal saying that my return flight had been changed. I confirmed that it was okay to change on the same day. However, I received another email asking me to wait for 24 hours to confirm the change. I waited for 3 days, but there was no response from Chatdeal. So, I called them and the representative told me to wait for another 24 hours. This happened every time I called them. After 2 weeks, I asked to speak to the manager, but the representative hung up on me. I called again and gave them my information, and the representative said that the manager would call me back. However, I never received a call back from the manager.
I kept requesting to speak to the manager, but no one ever called me back. Since Chatdeal couldn't connect with the airline, I called the airline myself. The airline told me that they don't accept online or email requests for flight changes. They only accept phone calls from Chatdeal. I thought it would be easy to do a 3-way call with Chatdeal and the airline, but Chatdeal refused to call the airline.
I asked for a manager to call me back, but no one ever did. I even sent emails asking for a manager to call me, but I never received a reply. As a customer, I don't know what else I can do. I don't understand why Chatdeal can't follow up with me instead of just making me wait and wait. Do I need to wait until my flight day comes and cancel my flight? This is my first time doing business with Chatdeal, and it will be my last. It's been almost a month, and I'm still waiting for confirmation. The service is unbelievable!
Unethical Practices: My Experience with ChatDeal Booking
I wish I had read some reviews before booking with ChatDeal. I was looking for flights on Kayak and saw an option to book instantly, which I thought was great. After I paid, I got a confirmation email from ChatDeal instead of Kayak. I was a bit confused, but I figured it was okay since it was still through Kayak. However, when I looked at the confirmation email, I noticed that the arrival and departure cities were reversed. It was already 1 am where I was, so I sent an email asking them to fix it before processing my request.
An hour later, I got a response from someone named Colton. He told me that my tickets were non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and non-cancellable. He said he could make the change for me as a favor, but it would cost over $1,200 for the fare difference and taxes. I looked up the airfare and found that it was the same price for the reversed cities, so I didn't understand why it would cost so much more. I asked Colton about it and also asked if I could just cancel and pay the $50 processing fee, as per Kayak's policy.
Another hour went by before I got a response from Colton. He repeated the same rules and said that the cost was now only $440 with a "discount". I felt like they were trying to scam me out of more money. Luckily, I found the cancel option on the Kayak app before ChatDeal had a chance to issue the tickets. I lost a couple of hours of sleep, but at least I didn't lose any money to this shady business with unethical practices.
Chatdeal's Refund Policy: A Cautionary Tale
I had a really bad experience with Chatdeal and I'm not afraid to say it. I even threatened to write a bad review about them, but then I realized that there were already plenty of negative reviews out there. However, I still feel like I need to share my story for two reasons. First, because I promised them I would do it, and second, because I think they may be using a new tactic to hurt their customers.
My husband and I had booked a tour of Iceland through a travel company, but they didn't provide first class flights, so we decided to book our own flights through Chatdeal. We booked them well in advance, but then the Covid situation got worse and we asked for a refund. We knew our tickets were non-refundable, but we thought that maybe they would make an exception because of the pandemic. We called them up and they told us that we could get a refund, but we would have to pay a penalty. We agreed to this and even gave them our credit card number so they could deposit the refund. We were happy with this arrangement and went ahead and cancelled our tour.
However, a week later, they called us back and told us that they couldn't give us a refund after all. They refused to take any responsibility for their mistake and basically left us hanging. I tried to contact them several times, but I was always put on hold for hours on end. The only time I got a call back was late at night, and I couldn't even tell where the call was coming from. They told me that there was nothing they could do, and that was the end of it.
Long story short, we ended up having to rebook our tour at a much higher cost, and we both ended up getting infected with Covid. It was a terrible experience, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I think that Chatdeal needs to take responsibility for their mistakes and start treating their customers better. If they don't, they're going to continue to get bad reviews like this one.
Poor Customer Service Experience with Chatdeal: No Response to Flight Change Request
I just had an experience with Chatdeal that left me feeling pretty frustrated. I booked a round-trip flight with them through Kayak, and unfortunately, I missed my connecting flight on the way to my destination due to the airline's fault. I ended up having to take a different flight a day later, which meant I missed out on a whole day with my family, who I hadn't seen in four years.
I reached out to both Kayak and Chatdeal to see if it would be possible to change my return flight by a day or two, so I could make up for the lost time with my family. Unfortunately, it was really difficult to get in touch with anyone. I couldn't find a customer service phone number anywhere, and the email address I found never got back to me. I even tried calling some random phone numbers I found online, but they didn't lead anywhere.
Finally, I was able to get in touch with someone through the live chat on Chatdeal's website. The representative, Jenny, told me that someone would be in touch soon with an update on my request. I made the request a week before my return flight, so I was hoping to hear back soon.
Three days later, I went back to the live chat to see if there were any updates. I spoke with a different representative this time, and they told me that someone would contact me via email within 12-24 hours. Unfortunately, no one ever contacted me. I tried the live chat a third time, and was told the same thing - someone would be in touch.
In the end, my return flight date came and went, and I never heard back from anyone about my request. I'm really disappointed with the lack of customer service from Chatdeal, and I don't think I'll be booking anything through them again. It's frustrating to spend money on a service and then not be able to get any help when you need it.
Flight tickets unconfirmed
Booking reference: KA6DFCE
Bought my 3 flight tickets on March 28,2023 and received return date change a few days after. I am fine with the date change and I confirmed. Received email I need to wait for 24 hours for the confirmation. From 24 hours to 2 months. In between I have been calling and sending email for the confirmation. What I got from ChatDeal is lies after lies. All they told me is to wait from 24 hours into 2 months. Every time I requested to speak to a manager or asked the agent for their last name, I got hung up or transfer to a different agent and hold forever until phone hung up itself. ChatDeal not willing to call the airline with me and keep on telling me to wait. So I call the airline myself and the airline said everything is approved on their side, ChatDeal need to reissue the tickets because ChatDeal is my agent. I make a 3 way call myself with ChatDeal and the airline. ChatDeal agent provided an email for the airline to send over the authorization and I ask for a copy to my email. To be secure I send the authorization email to my agent at ChatDeal, Veri and the service agent on my case, Alana. I called ChatDeal the next day, the agent told me nothing received. As a customer I don't know what to do anymore. Do I just wait until the last day to cancel the flight. I really want to know how can I talk to the upper management about this ridiculous service. please advise if anyone knows.
Desired outcome: Conformation for my flight

For some reason Kayak is now using these swindlers as a middleman for plane ticket purchases but they are incapable of providing even basic services one would expect from an agent - I have been trying to select my seat on my flights for five days now and airlines do not allow this when the booking is done via Chatdeal so the agency is supposed to do it for the client. However, I have had multiple calls and online chats about this and each time I was being lied to me face that a so called 'concern' department is working on it and will get back to me within 1-2 hours. Each time I never got a callback, email or any resolution to this. This has been going on for days now and I fly in less than 24 hours. They disconnect chats, refuse to provide any explanation for their lack of follow up and generally seem unconcerned with doing their job. There are a lot of online reports of people calling this company a "scam" and I hope you will investigate them. It shouldn't be so difficult to select a seat on a flight.
On March 5, 2022, I purchased five round-trip tickets through a combination of American Airlines and Finnair from an undisclosed location to another, using the services of Chatdeal and Kayak, with the total cost amounting to approximately $6600. On June 14th, I was notified via text by American Airlines that flight AA150 departing from Kansas City was canceled and that they were in the process of rebooking us. In response, I reached out to Chatdeal, American Airlines, and Finnair to verify the cancellation, especially since the flight continued to be listed as 'On Time' online. All three companies assured me that the flight was not canceled and would proceed as scheduled on June 15th.
On the day of the flight, we arrived at Kansas City International Airport and presented our passports to the check-in agent. The agent informed us that Flight AA150 had indeed been canceled due to government action. Upon further examination, she discovered that two members of our party had been rescheduled to depart three days later, but to a different destination than originally planned, while the remaining three had not been rebooked at all. The agent was baffled by the confusion in our itinerary and sought assistance from a colleague. Despite their efforts, they were unable to find any American Airlines flights heading to our intended destination. The agent recommended that we contact Finnair directly and advised against boarding the initial leg of our journey to avoid being stranded at an interim stop.
I immediately got in touch with Finnair, and they began the process of rebooking us but abruptly ceased their efforts, citing restrictions due to our booking through Chatdeal and Kayak. Attempts to communicate with Chatdeal were futile; I was left on hold indefinitely and received no response to my messages. Despite having paid extra for travel protection, which purportedly included 'concierge' service from Chatdeal, I received no tangible assistance.
Ultimately, we were compelled to purchase one-way tickets to Paris on a different airline. Upon arrival in Paris, we discovered that our return flights had been canceled as well. This necessitated the purchase of new one-way tickets back home. The initial cost of $6600 for five round-trip tickets has now escalated to an expenditure of $28,000.
I purchased airline tickets from Chatdeal on May 16, 2022; due to hostility along the borders of the countries we were to visit, we were no longer able to go on the original trip as planned. I contacted Chatdeal to request a refund, and the refund they offered me was $573. I paid $1273 for the tickets. They kept $700 for "airline penalty" fees. This is unheard of. They could not explain to me why they were keeping $700. I then inquired about removing the last flight on my trip and flying from *** to *** and back (my original flight was ***, then ***). They quoted me a price of an additional $431 (this is in addition to the $1273 I've already paid). I asked the agent why there was an additional charge, and he said that they have to cancel my original ticket and purchase a new one. When I sent him screenshots of ticket prices from the same website I bought them through the first time, which were $200-$400 less expensive than what he was quoting me, he could not explain to me why I was being charged an additional $431; he would only say that it was due to "difference in fares". I have read reviews on multiple websites from people who have said that they booked through Chatdeal and have had issues with their tickets stemming from Chatdeal, and end up having to pay thousands more to correct the situation. When trying to contact Chatdeal about the situation they were in, Chatdeal would not answer the phone nor return messages. Chatdeal continues to ask for more and more money to try to correct the situation they put the customer in. The company is a scam. I would like my full refund of $700. Review website: *** (this is one of many).

On 3/19/22, we bought 3 tickets for a summer trip, faced issues with Chatdeal, and had to buy new tickets.
On 3/19/22, my friends and I purchased 3 round trip tickets for our summer trip through KAYAK and therefore Chatdeal at the cost of $3896.31. A week before our first flight on 6/22/22, I received an email about a schedule change, which I accepted. However, the confirmation email omitted our final return flight. After 4 days and 20 hours of trying to contact Chatdeal, a new itinerary with a Delta flight was sent on 6/26/22. We left on 6/29/22 and checked in for our return flights on 7/22/22 with Korean Air, which included the Delta flight. At the connecting airport on 7/23/22, we couldn't board the plane because Chatdeal hadn't paid for our seats. Despite efforts with Chatdeal, Delta, and Korean Air, we were stranded. A supervisor was unavailable until 10pm on 7/24/22. Losing faith in Chatdeal and unable to wait, we bought tickets home for the morning of 7/24/22 at $589.80 and spent the night at the airport. I've had no success in contacting Chatdeal for restitution.

Purchased 5 round trip tickets from an undisclosed location, faced cancellations.
On March 5, 2022, I bought 5 round trip tickets on American Airlines/Finnair through Chatdeal/Kayak totaling around $6600. On June 14th, I received a text from AA about a cancellation. Despite online indications of the flight being on time, all parties confirmed the cancellation. At the airport, we learned of a partial rebooking and complete cancellations for some. The airline staff were baffled by the situation. Attempts to rebook were futile as our destination was not available on AA flights. Finnair couldn't assist due to our third-party booking. Chatdeal was unreachable, and their promised 'concierge' service was ineffective. We had to purchase new tickets to Paris and, later, additional tickets home, totaling $28,000.
I booked airline tickets for a trip via Chatdeal on Singapore airlines, facing issues.
I booked airline tickets on May 19th, '22 to travel to a destination on Chatdeal Platform on a certain date on Singapore airlines with a specific booking ID. The booking is for 3 people, myself and my two daughters. I got an email notification from Singapore airlines on Jun 5th about a travel advisory that the destination was not open for tourism because of Covid restrictions still in place. When we booked our travel, NOTHING was mentioned about the restrictions and my credit card was charged the full amount. I immediately called Singapore airline about my booking and the email they sent about the travel restriction and asked for cancellation. Singapore Airline was fully cooperative and because of legitimate reason for cancellation, they offered to cancel the booking waiving any penalty and give me full refund. Only when they tried to process, they realized I have booked through a travel agent, kayak.chatdeal.com, and said they were unable to process the cancellation and refund and I have to go to the original booking agent. When I called the customer service on my booking, they said to cancel there would be a heavy penalty. I said Singapore Airline was waiving all penalty to cancel and offered me full refund due to travel restrictions and even noted it on my booking. From that day I have repeatedly called/emailed the customer care number on my booking and spoken to several agents who keep saying they still have not heard from Singapore airline. They tell me if Singapore airline is giving full refund, they would give it to me. I have always been able to connect with the airline right away so Chatdeal is making a story. The agents I have been repeatedly talking to are Bravo and the General line. Please help me resolve this as soon as possible as I have about $4000 charges on my credit card during present high interest rates times. Thank you, Sincerely.
