red plum
I've contacted the [protected] line 8 times to try to stop the Red Plum from being delivered to my location. Each time they tell me it will stop and it doesn't. It's a waste of time and money to continue to deliver they paper twice weekly, since it gets thrown away. Please stop the delivery.
Contact dates:
11/29/16 requested stop
2/7/17 requested stop
3/28/17 talked with Alex
4/4/17 talked with Julie
4/18/17 talked with Allison, escalated request to delivery manager
5/4/17 talked with Gregory, account supervisor, filed complaint with carrier/delivery department
6/9/17 talked with Amber, filed a complaint, gave me bogus delivery company phone number [protected]
delivery of the paper is often quite inaccessible to retrieve. arrg!
We live on a major highway and up on a slight hill with a cement staircase. Our delivery person can't seem to get the paper up to the top of the hill and in the proximity of the staircase. I have often had to resort to the use of a rake to snag the paper and in rainy weather makes the whole process quite annoying. We're up in age and often struggle to retrieve the paper. Even the worse Cubs and Sox pitchers could get the paper in that large a strike zone. (See attached photo)
delivery
On April 4th scheduled resume service online with $2.99 per week charge.
This was per promo email from Tribune.
Apparently no record of start request.
Not started as of am so called.
Bottom line wanted to charge $65.00 pe mo.
Then suggested 3.25 per week.
Insisted on promo# I no longer had for 2.99 rate.
Would like to resume delivery if there was someone to talk to.

no delivery for 6 days
My account #[protected] - - service report #[protected]#
Patricia O'Connor, 6565 N. Green Bay #206, Glendale WI [protected]
I have not had my Tribune delivered for the past 6 days. I have used the automated system, talked to customer service, and e-mailed them. I keep being told that they will fix this, get me the back issues and make sure this doesn't happen again - and I should read the paper on line. If I wanted to get the news on line I wouldn't pay money for the Tribune. There are plenty of free ways to get the news on line. I want a newspaper!
I have had a subscription for over 40 years while I have lived in 5 different states and I have never had a problem like this. Why is it so difficult to resolve? I was told it was escalated to an Operation's Manager - but this morning - again - no paper.
I want my Sunday paper delivered - not a credit - and I want my paper every day.
Thank you.

She said no then gave me the Finger and attempted to throw out threats an walked up to my car, I called police after but they did not arrive while she was there the driver was African American female about 5'7 with braids I will like the person to be removed from that route of the 8100 block of st. Lawrence thanks any questions call [protected] I also provided a picture of the car she was driving
online articles.
Everyone that posts a headline, or begins an article oh Yahoo, completes the article. The Chicago Tribune starts the article, THEN, when one clicks on the "Read More" link to finish what was written, gets slammed with a subscription link. To me this is nothing but an on-line scam to get people to subscribe to the newspaper. In my eyes this is despicable. WHY even do this? Is this how desperate you are for people to subscribe to your newspaper? Give a little tease, little taste, then pull it away? THIS, is one of the reasons I don't subscribe to you paper. Bottom line, it's all about the money, the number one God in the eyes of the Tribune. I guess you need extra money to pay for the expensive contracts you're giving out to the Cubs players.
content of newspaper
The tribune has become nothing but a rag. It does not have current or important articles on the front page after that, you have to search for current and important news through out the rest of the paper. The front page has become a place for ads or articles in a and e section of the paper.
The final straw came when the paper endorsed gary johnson for president.
I have never heard of a paper endorsing for any person less electable than he was.
I hereby cancel my subscription for the tribune i'm sure you ads are important than your readers

unauthorized charges from senior citizen
I am contacting you due to elder fraud the Chicago Tribune is committing against my mother. My mother was a longtime subscriber to the Chicago Tribune home delivery, however, due to an ongoing battle with Alzheimer, she has been living in a nursing home since 2014. I have power of attorney and canceled her Chicago Tribune subscription in 12/14 and yet she is still receiving ongoing charges to her checking/debit account from the Tribune. Btw...the Tribune has record of this cancelation request. I have spoken with multiple Tribune representatives without any resolution. I have reference numbers and names of reps I've spoken too who have promised refunds, which have not been received. My mother is on a fixed income and all incoming payments she receives, goes directly to her care at the nursing home. When these unexpected and unauthorized debits occur on her account by the Chicago Tribune, her account becomes overdrawn and overdraft fees are charged on her account, which then I must cover in order to bring her account back in good standing. I expect full reimbursement on all unauthorized payments immediately.
The Tribune has two different accounts for her and should not have. A transfer of residency was made 12/2012, which is also on record with the Tribune, to her new residence and then canceled completely in 12/2014. [protected] and [protected]
missed delivery... again and again
No paper again today. If you keep a tab you will see that I have been missed way, way too much over the past weeks. All I ever get from the Trib is we will be looking into it and extend my subscription a day. How on earth does one compute this extension? What is the end of the subscription so one can add twhe many days to be added, particularly
when one of the days is a Sunday? NE Muller, 542630 Willow Bend Drive, Granger, IN 46530
Truly about to sever this 20+ year subscription as one never knows if a paper is late (as late as around noon) or simply not delivered. Sorry, Indy Star much more reliable.
You made a good point !
I have the same trouble with my delivery service too. I noticed that many other Chicago Tribune home subscribers report the same.
But I think you really hit it on the head, the company has figured out a way to just extend or keep your home delivery subscription going for almost ever. Is a little like the cable or cell phone company, you subscribe and you think that you need their service month after month, year after year.
Its clever but not cool when you think that you can actual call the Chicago Tribune and resolve the problem but really cant. You loose out on today's news. I waste my time thinking that the Chicago Tribune is going to drop off today's paper. The Chicago Tribune does but only 50% of the time.
The other 50% of the time your request for today's paper goes unanswered.
I have no good answer for this but to say that its not good business. Your better off just driving around and buying the Chicago Tribune paper somewhere in town.
sunday tribune delivery service
I am a Sunday-only subscriber to the Tribune. I originally subscribed to take advantage of a special pricing offer, as opposed to the Trib's ever-increasing price for the Sunday paper. At the beginning of my subscription, some fourteen months ago, it took over two months before I began receiving the paper regularly -- it was one ON, two or three OFF, then a delivery again. I only began to get regular Sunday delivery after I sat in my driveway and flagged down the delivery person to complain. Calls to the customer service number did absolutely nothing to resolve the problem.Today (17 January) was another OFF day. Today's first three calls to your so-called "Customer Service" group resulted in nothing more than an automated system telling me that "Your paper will be delivered in sixty to ninety minutes." Today after three such promises I was told on the fourth call that "All Tribune officers are closed; please call back during the week between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM." Since I was just charged for the next several weeks of the paper, I refuse to go out and purchase another $4.00 copy. If you can't solve this erratic service problem, please let me know and I will discontinue my subscription.
non delivery or extremely late
Tuesday, 1/12/16 no paper. Wednesday, a paper but no tuesday included. Today, thursday, no paper again. I think I will cancel when my current payment is up. This guy you hired to deliver is horrible. He never puts the paper in the paper box, slinging it into the snow as he zips by. I have actually had my blower find the paper, unfortunately, but then what can one expect of sub-standard delivery. Ne muller, [protected] willow bend drive, granger, in 46530
Just started getting the paper on Sundays got it last week and was very excited to get it this week because my Cubbies were on the front page. Went out there first thing no paper. So I called they said will be there within 90 minutes went out there again no paper. So I called again and she said she would give me a credit I said I don't care about the credit I want my paper now its Monday and still no paper . That's really bad two weeks in and they already let me down big time.
sunday delivery of the tribune and their customer service people
My Sunday Paper has not been delivered for the 5th week in a row. When I contact the Tribune I get people in the Philippines that have no authority to do much of anything except apologize and tell you they will make sure the information gets to a manager who will resolve the problem. It just doesn't happen. I demanded to be given a number to call locally so I could contact the people who are contracted to deliver my paper...and they can't and won't give you that information and tell you they don't have it. You can't even get through to their main number most of the time [protected]. I have another number you can reach [protected], which automatically forwards you to the Philippines. Both locations are absolutely useless in dealing with this type of problem. I just don't know what else to do.
sunday chicago tribune newspaper not delivered
I have been receiving the sunday tribune for probably 20 years as of the last 3 sundays no paper called on all three sundays and paper promised to be delivered still no sunday papers.. Get a bunch of crap that they will send a paper in 1 hour. I am paid up until the third week in december and no paper.. I am horrified that the chicago tribune runs business this way... And it really would not hurt have english speaking individuals on the other end of the line... I hope they go out of business..
I have the tribune paid up till March 2016 but have not received a paper since November 6th
my normal delivery is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday...
Tony prom.ises to get the paper delivered...even got rude with me today on the phone..

did not receive
Yesterday 10/11/15 several people in our building did not get our Sunday paper. Some did and some didn't. I happened to be one who did not. Our whole wing in our condo was excluded for delivery. I called, and of course it was a automated service, was told I would get a paper within 60-90 minutes. That didn't happen. Called again, recognized that I called before and that the paper would be delivered in 60-90 minutes. And of course that didn't happen. Called back again, and was to be transferred, but no representatives were available and was told to call back today. What good would that be when I wanted my Sunday paper. There were 3 of us in my wing that did not receive their paper. I am at work so I didn't have the opportunity to call back so I am complaining about this service. Kindly credit my account for the missed paper and get a delivery person who knows what they are doing.
delivery issue no papers
Chicago tribune delivery service is a gamble, sometime you may get it or not. Even calling for redelivery you might as well be talking to a wall. worst part is the wasted time calling and following up for redelivery. Then they offer you a refund that is less than what you have to pay at your local store. Customer service calls and ask if you want to subscribe to their on-line service I have already cut back on our subscription service to 4 days from 7 days and feel I should just drop it completely and find a more dependable paper. You also can never get someone with authority to call you back about on going issues
where is my paper ? have called three times --no paper --------------might be 6pm tonight ------------I received a Daily herald this morning placed it back window of my car which is in drive way...Called 3 times about Tribune where is it ------------be here in 60 to 90 minutes -----------that was hours ago----------------- choice given me was read paper on computer which is too small ---- get it tomorrow morning --- its not news than its history -------last person talked to said 6pm tonight------------------------- since Chicago American closed its doors a few years ago I'm spoiled ---like paper in morning -----or at least 6pm same day----------------- lets wait and see what happens
scholarship subscriptions
The Chicago Tribune has high school kids out asking for subscriptions or twenty dollars for their college fund. Be careful if you donate. Even if you waive the subscription to just make a donation, the Trib ends up sending you the paper and they will charge you $40 if you don't cancel on time. I travel so much I never even knew I was receiving the paper until I got a last notice that I owed them $40 otherwise they were taking me to collections.I guess they have to keep the paper afloat some way, right?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Did anyone find a way to resolve this with the Tribune? In the effort to help some high school kids the Tribune strong arms you into paying for an ongoing subscription.
have not recieved sales circulars in 2 months
I have not received weekly sales circulars since August, 2012 and even then it was not on a weekly basis. I see empty house across from me have been getting them and only some of my neighbors have been getting theirs. Is there any reason why this keeps occuring?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
For the past two weeks, I have not received the Walgreens sale paper with the Sunday delivery. Why is this? My neighbors have called and been told it is no longer being delivered "in our area." Now that I am paying full price for the delivery, I expect to receive a full newspaper. There is a store one block away that I can go to to buy a full price newspaper on Sunday or early edition on Saturday. Please respond to this complaint. Thank you sleo608@yahoo.com.
I buy the trib every sunday and i pay 3 bucks for it! Only for the coupons and the crosswords! Well i look forward to the crosswords! and i get upset when section 6 is NOT in the paper! and 9/8/2013 guess what ? Section 6 is not int he paper so i paid for a paper for 3 buck for nothing! This is not the only time this has happened! I have sent a message before and nope no response! so i guess this does me no damn good!
no delivery
I have had a subscription to the Tribune for almost 20 years. About 3 months ago I started to get late delivery the more i complained the worse the delivery got. I am now at the point that they have not had a paper delived in over 60 days. I filed a complaint with the BBB and the tribune ignored it. It is not surprising that they are in bankruptcy with this kind of service.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Hello my name is Ms. Smith, I find myself contact Tribune every month about the local value paper. If I recieve it thisweek I would not recieve another for three week, after placing phone call over ten differ time to the supervisor. What type of people do you all have working for you. subscription scholarships
Twice in the last month, two teenagers came to my door claiming that if they signed up 20 people for Chicago Tribune subscriptions, they could get a scholarship to college. They come with credentials but something about it does not seem right. Both times they came in the evening around 8 pm, and when I refused to buy their subscriptions, both asked, "don't you want to help me got to college?" I've done some web searching but I can't seem to find an answer as to whether or not this is a program that the Tribune participates in. If the kids are legit, then the tribune needs to figure out a better way to sell their subscriptions than preying on people by using teenagers as salespersons.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I keep getting the Tribune even if I never authorized it. Please STOP!
Good afternoon, my name is Autumn Smith, and I am an employee in the Client Services dept at the Chicago Tribune.

Perhaps a call to the circulation department is in order. At least then you would know if it is legit, and can let them know of your concerns.
delivery/customer service
I have subscribed to the Chicago Tribune for a very long time. The delivery of the paper started to get sporadic and the paper was being thrown in the street or the easement. I called and requested porch delivery. I got not satisfaction so I cancelled after many attempts to have them rectify the problem. Then groupon offered a year of the Chicago Tribune...

You have the opposite problem that I do I don't receive it. I call every week to no avail. I want the Red Plum I want to save money by seeing who has what on sale I want the coupons. Stores spend a lot of money on advertising what good does it do if their ads don't reach the consumer?
I am not receiving your Red Plum/ Local Values flyers. I "want" very much to receive the weekly flyer! I have called numerous times to the phone number listed on the flyer to complain and inquire as to why the delivery person skips my home. This has not helped. I am still not receiving the flyers. For some unknown reason they skip my home and my driveway neighbor. I know these flyers are provided "no charge" to residents but, the retailers who advertise in the Red Plum pay the Chicago Tribune for this service. I have contacted the corporate offices of the grocery stores I shop in to make them aware of your delivery issues.
