I went on line to request a "free" credit report as advertised on TV. I paid $2495 for the report. Then a charge of 12.00 dollars started to appear on my debit card. I have called the company and canceled the so called membership I never applied for in the first place. I also alerted my bank. These people need to be shut down.

I'm going through the same problems with CIC Triple Advanta. I've notified my bank and hoping they have some options for me to try since mine aren't working.

I went to FreeCredit report over a month ago. It didn't offer me any assistance. Contacted them to close account. Now CIC Triple Advantage is charging 12.00 on the March 5 on my charge card. I asked this to be closed it didn't offer anything for me to keep account. I want my money back they was told to close account this was done within 2 weeks of signing up it was a joke and wasn't able to access credit info. I want my money back. IT was a joke and a LIE!

I also just received a $12.95 charge onto my debit account! I did not authorize or sign up for anything! OBVIOUSLY, I am NOT the ONLY one having this problem.

On 4/7/07 CIC Triple Advantage billed my credit card company , Bank of America, for $12.95. I never entered into an agreement with this company nor do I need their credit card reports! This was supposed to be a free yearly credit card report that was advertised on the Yahoo home page some weeks ago. If I could find out their phone number and/or address I would contact them to cancel this bogus charge to my credit card.

I went on line to get a free credit report which I could not get printed out. Now I just received my card statement and found a $12.00 charge on it which I did not approve. I think this is a big scam.

IT IS SERIOUSLY A SCAM! When I called they had told me that when you sign up to get your free credit report and if then you choose to up grade to get the 3 for 24.95 that you have to call back with in the alloted time to not get enrolled into the membership program. I found that my mentioning the complaint board and filing a law suit that the representative was quick to solve the problem.

This company needs to be shut down. It is a big scam. My wife brought it to my attention and she assumed I had setup so kind of service to be debited out of the account as I researched it we found, that we had been charged for over 7 months.

On 5/2/07, I called the above mentioned company regarding $12.00 charges for their reports. Per their representative, they will cancel and refund me $24.00 for the months of April & May within 7 to 10 days. Still pending!

I did not apply for membership and not sure how this all occurred. Know I had tried to get the free credit report as advertised on tv but now is the question how someone got my debit card no. in order to charge my checking account monthly of $12.00. I am confused.

I paid nothing for the 1st credit report, and now I have a $12 fee on my Visa. Oh this pisses me off. Because of it, I received $112 in overdraft fees in my bank account. Son of a gunderson.

I signed up for triple advantage credit card report through (freecreditreport.com) after watching several commercials on TV. I signed up for the free trial and forgot about the trial. Well it recurred 1 month and I got charged for 1 month of, $12.95. No biggie I tried to cancel the account by calling [protected], and according to the rep, the account was canceled. Well after couple months later, I realized it never got cancelled! I call the same number [protected] but it was always busy or gave me message saying there was no one there. I managed to get the number of the parent company, consumer info of [protected]. According to the rep of this number, I did call the previous rep before, but I never cancelled the account. She said according to the record, I wanted to continue the service. What the hell!? why would i call the rep just to say I want to continue the service? Well this time she assured the account is cancel and she even gave me a reference number, and said I will get a confirmation email. Overall I got charged 12.95 five times for getting to view my "free credit report" once.

I was just going through my direct deposits on my account and I came across the same CIC Triple Advanta bill for $12.95 and I connected to the "Free" credit Report I received. What kind of bogas crap is this, I dont even know what Im paying for. I found this web site in search of the official web site, its not every day you find out your being cheated. Now lets see if I can cancel this crap.

I was cheated as well. I viewed my "FREE" yearly credit report and suddenly there are two charges of $12.00 ea. to my checking account from CIC Triple Advantage. After doing some research I found many irate people over this company. I never signed up for a membership & assumed (dangerous thing to do) that after 30 days you are no longer able to view your report. I never entered my checking account numbers nor did I authorize anyone to debit my account. They woman on the hotline stated that "we sent you two monitoring emails , and it shows you viewed them" ... uh yea! I opened them, wondering WHY I was getting them. I told them that it was a VERY shady way of doing business and false advertisement in stating "free". You have to raise a fuss, unfortunately, in order to get your money back.

She mentioned that there are THREE places on their website that lists the "Terms & Conditions" and states that you will be charged after 30 days. They sure don't display it in a "commonly" viewed place considering how many people have been defrauded by these people.

I think people should report them to the BBB when this happens. I will definitely send in my complaint.

I hope you all have had good luck with your situation.

I also just noticed in my bank accounts that I have been charged $12 two times a month since I purchased the $24.95 credit report for my husband and myself back in Jan 07. Well now I need to figure out how to cancel. I agree that this is a scam.

I'm like everyone complaining so far. I found out about this "bogus" charge after the second month of the $12.00 being deducted from my charge card. What really upsets me is that the IRS (yes, the big brother we pay each year) on the government web site, recommended that we obtain a "free" credit report and listed three (3) different sites. I did read what I was requesting and no where was there anything about a charge for the report and NOTHING about a continue charge. There should be some way to alert the consumer about this Fraud and some sort of sanctions brought against this company.

So this is how the wealthy make money. Broadcast a nationwide ad campaign with a catchy jingle, have an army of lawyers, mathematician and psychologist come up with the best way to rip off the largest number of people in the given time before they are found out.

TRUST NO ONE QUESTION EVERYTHING!

This "company" is a joke. I had the hardest time canceling the account. They just kept trying to talk me into staying with them and telling me all the other services that they provide other than just credit reports. This site, on the other hand, was very helpful! Thank you for letting me know i was not to only one.

I just got off the phone dealing with these guys. Luckily I noticed it after 2 months of being billed $12.95!

You have to call the [protected] number.
Press 1 to cancel subscription and then wait on hold for about 2-10 minutes (depending on the time of day). I waited for about 4 minutes at 2:30 pm (Pacific Standard).

I spoke to Erin (operator #19860) and she told me that the subscription was billed because I didn't cancel it in 30 days from using Experian. They will ask you for the credit card number that is being billed (along with your name and mother's maiden name).

I told her to cancel it.
She asked me did I move recently, any bad credit, ... I told her no to everything and that I didn't care what she had to say I just wanted it cancelled.

She asked me if I wanted to know...
I stopped her and told her that the only reason I was calling was to stop the charges and that I didn't care about anything that they had to offer or tell me.

I again told her that she needed to cancel whatever subscription she had with my credit card number on it and that I would be canceling my credit card (not) on top of that so that they couldn't charge me anymore.

She finally said, "OK. Your subscription has been cancelled as of this moment."

Whomever you speak t, just keep saying that you want the subscription cancelled. Every time they try to tell you something about your credit, stop them and demand that they cancel it.

Be persistent and try not to listen to what they have to offer; they will only keep you on the line longer.

I went online to get my 3 credit reports and score, I paid my 24.95, before I knew it my credit card was being billed 12.00. I never gave permission for this to happen, after reading all the comments here, I am afraid I will run into the same problem when I call to cancel.

I have read the above comments, it seems we have all been taken by CIC, what a c...of sh... it seems they follow the same pattern I hope someone will make them pay for their scam... I signed up to get my credit report the next thing I know I am being charged 12.95 per month for credit monitoring, I can not even access my credit or contact this company to cancel...like everyone else I do not recall signing up for any monitoring, however, the contact information is not easy to obtain in order to cancel the so called agreement... this is America we should not have to put up with companies like this...

On May 10, 2008 I received an unauthorized charge on my account from CIC Triple Advantage for $12.00. I only received a report from one (1) agency. I was never able to locate a name to cancel the service.
