They reduced my wife's credit line so that when she paid her Average of $60 per month her credit line would have been over the limit becuase not only did they reduce her credit line they increased her finance charge by 37% so now instead of 10% she had 47% interest rate! THAT SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW! If she had not noticed the change they could have also increased her interest rate by another 17% because now she would have been over the limit!

I called them up, because I am an authorized user to pay on the account! and believe me kept telling each person on the line, NOPE I want to speak with your LEGAL Department, I am sueing your company! after about the 9th person who claimed to be a supervisor. I got the legal department and inform them that if they did not reverse the % rate and increase my wife line of credit back to it's orgainal amount I was going to file a claim against them for increasing % and decreasing amount without customer notification, per thier agreement which we still had on file and I read it to the person from the legal department. They agreed it was out of their plan agreement with my wife. I also informed them they were beging recorded. They corrected the % and credit limit.

It's sad after over 10 years with them they would do something so shady with thier customers. I informed them that we were paying off my wife's account and closing it.

It's no wonder they need help. What goes around comes around.

I use online bill pay for my citicard, but for the same reasons; late statements, but most importantly, I do not trust ANY processing center to properly post my payment. Mistakes happen often because it is done by machines.

If you are able to pay online, I highly recommend it.

I have also had bitter experience of worst collection procedure of CITI BAND Cards services. I had given a cheque of Rs.2000 in payment of dues against my Credit Card.

The Cheque was payable at Mumbai Service Branch of State Bank of Indore. I got shocked when I saw that the said cheque was shown as dishonoured in my credit card's statement. I enquired on phone and also sent e-mail to know the reason of return / dishonour of the cheque. This was a surprising instance because ACTUALLY THE CHEQUE WAS NOT PRESENTED FOR PAYMENT TO THE PAYING BRANCH. After 10-15 days their Head of Customer Care replied that reason of dishonour was - "NOT DRAWN ON US". I requested them to present the cheque again and instructed them to be careful to present the cheque to the correct bank. They have not done so and the cheque was again shown as dishonoured in my next statement. I asked them about the banker who had returned the cheque. Again after a gap of 10-15 days, they sent me ( by e-mail) the copy (image) of Cheque Returning Memo.

After viewing that "Return Memo" I did not get angry but Laughed at CITI BANK's Foolish collection unit. The Return Memo was sent by State Bank Of Mysore..!

The CHEQUE PAYABLE AT STATE BANK OF INDORE WAS FOOLISHLY & CARELESSLY SENT (TWICE) TO STATE BANK OF MYSORE.

I would quote one more bitter experience in my next message.

I have faced the exact same situation... no statements sent and then calls from their collections department at 7 in the morning and 10 at night. I finally got fed up and wrote to their Customer Service ombudsman. Got incorrect late payment and interest charges (over rs. 1800/-) reversed and finally got my card cancelled after receiving email confirmation from Citibank that all dues had been cleared.

The collections dept. is the worst I have ever dealt with. When I told them that I hadn't been receiving the statements I was told, "Sir it's your duty to ask for the statement if you haven't received it."

Pathetic.

Citibank citibank

I have a complaint with Citibank Philippines Credit Card Company...
First, Girl A has been a cardholder of Citibank for more than 8 years now and due to unexpected circumstances, she flew to London because of job offer. She then asked us to pay her monthly obligations with Citibank which apparently after a year, we failed to do so until it accummulated interest and charges later on. After about 2 years of non-payment, the balance becomes higher and higher without the knowledge of Girl A... We received demand letters here and there until I finally decided to pay since the law office offered a huge discount... From PHP57,000 to 16,644.25... I called up the law office and confirmed the offer and asked them to fax me an agreement letter stating that after payment of PHP16,644.25 on agreed date, Girl A's account will be cleared and closed and they will issue a certificate. They did fax to me the written agreement. After paying, to our dismay, they called me again and told me the amount I paid was not enough. It should have been more, according to them. But I refused to pay more already since what I followed was our oral and written agreement. After paying last July 2007, until October 2007, they NEVER issued us a certificate. I directly called up Citibank Office and told them our complaint but they gave us broken promises. They said Law Office or Collecting Agencies are greedy and want to ask for more, it is however their strategy to collect more, and they said they will issue us a certificate closing the said account. It is already January 2008 but no certificate was issued. I tried to make follow up with Citibank but now, they wanted to talk to the card holder already when before they never asked about it and that since we are not the card holder, we took the responsibility to pay & they never demanded us "the card holder should PAY"... the bottom line here is that, we PAID, we have EVIDENCES, we have an Agreement letter about discount/amnesty, why are they holding and pending Girl A's certificate?

This doesnt happen to me only, this is happening to some of the peers I know also, to my boss, to my officemate and some friends. When you pay, they will NOT issue a certificate regardless of the agreement letter they gave you. The harrassment won't stop.

Citibank must do something about this because as what i know, they are now losing clients and transferring to other much better credit card services..

This is what happened to me. I paid last April 2018, and it was me who decided to settle my obligations. The collection agency was GCCS and Associates Corp. and was able to talk to a certain Joan Barcebal. We have reached an agreement for the amount that I should be paying which I did on April 2018. After, she told me to wait for the certificate of full payment. After a month that I did not received any letter from them, I made follow-ups but has not responded to any. I called Ms. Barcebal several times but kept on telling me that to call back. When I call their office, I am always told that Joan is either sick or not around. I asked if there is anyone who can assist me, but said there was none. So I asked for the boss of Joan, it was Atty. Winston Hipe who I am trying to reach out to now.

Btw, its November 2018 now and its almost 7 months.

I dont know who to assist me on this so I emailed CCAP and BSP, I just hope that they will respond to this accordingly.

On 12/1/06 all my accounts were drained of funds. The Banch Manager told me to call customer service to file a report. Report process took longer than allowed by citibank they will not review any of the problems I address because their system 'only will go back 60 days'. 60 day dispute period is unreasonable as instructions and requirements are almost impossible to comply with. Filing a dispute was a mute point by the time I was able to meet with a branch manager or until I was able to obtain correct information by a telephonic customer service representative.

When I discovered that my three accounts were drained of all funds, I immediately went to a manager. I was informed, I was responsible for finding the missing monies. Once I 'found' my money, they would review the information and get back to me not sooner than 90 days. A 60 day limit was imposed to obtain the information. Only the bank has authority to review it's records as it is confidential information. No crisis resolution department was available to assist me. Over $20k were missing and never returned to me as there was no investigation.

I requested a review of my entire banking history, at a charge of $2.00 a statement. (Several bank personnel, in the branch and customer service recommended the shredding of all statements to prevent ID theft; the information was to be accessible online or through the branch. I was not informed of the $2 fee assessable to each statement.) I did ask for 10 years of statements from all of my accounts. Months later, I was informed that MY SIGNATURE CARD AND 6 1/2 YEARS OF BANKING INFORMATION WAS LOST.

The available statements revealed a pattern of thousands of dollars over the course of the years that were deducted from my accounts 'erroneously'. There were two $150.00 charges for two bounced checks that I never wrote, nor did the checks exist. When paying bills on line, dozens of times the money was debited from my account and not given to the debtor. Resulting in late charges and the amount I specified to pay was debited from my account twice. The problem lied in the 5 second limit to input information into the online banking process.

Demographic information on my account was changed several times. I did not receive statements for three month periods and when I did begin to receive statements I found several thousand dollars missing again. All the demographics were changed on personal accounts---statements addressed to my spouse, and we were and are currently involved in divorce proceedings. The manager of the branch told me that they don't check ID to change an address and it can be done at the branch or on the phone. At this time-----they had no signature card to compare a signature with as it was lost when they moved my files, and they went to another country. I have been unable to have any of these issues resolved as the 60 days had already passed.

To date I have been unable to find any recourse. I worked on this diligently for several months because Identity theft ensued at the same time involving all my creditors, virtually anything involving my money and credit. I spent hours a day for months. Subsequently all my affairs required crisis resolution, I became very ill and have been for over a year.

Attention:

Sir/Madam,

Sorry to bother you, I know we haven't spoken or corresponded with each
other before but I'm currently looking for someone trustworthy to work
with me on a little project.
My name is tony Williams; I'm originally from South Africa but now living
here in London. I moved here to work with the Citi Bank in London as
a Senior Account Manager in the audit department. I have put in sixteen
years banking service with the bank.

The reason for my email is that myself and a colleague recently discovered
a fix deposit account which was opened with a large sum of money in 2005,
since then
there has been no activity on the account and all the contact details we
have for the customer appear to be out of date. With the interest which
has built up over the last few years, the balance of the account is now
Forty Five Million Nine Hundred Thousand Pounds Sterling’s [£45.9m.]
On discovery of this fix deposit information, we removed all the details
and the customers file from the administrative department of the bank and
the details were also detected from the central computer system file of
the bank.
It is safe to submit fresh application on your name as the next of kin and
a beneficiary of the fund to the bank if our request for partnership on
the claim of the fund is acceptable by you.

we are currently solicitating a foreigner that would be presented to the
bank as the next of kin to the deaceased client.using a third party who
will take the place of the deceased next of kin and that's where you come
in, of course if you are interested.
We'll do all the release approval paper work on your behalf at the bank
and be assured that the process is 100% risk free for the three of us. We
have access to the death certificate and we’ would be able to procure any
other Legal documents through the assistance of an attorney that we would
engage on your name for this process and other related forms and documents
that will be required.
It is pertinent to let you know clearly that your co-operation acting as
the beneficiary in this business is highly required while i as an insider
in the bank will be passing to you the information needed. I will send to
you a text Application letter for claim of inheritance fund.

Be informed that as soon as the said fund is processed and approved for
release, my bank will wired the fund into your designated bank account via
her overseas corresponding bank within 48-72 hours. After you confirmed
the fund in your account; then i will come over to your country for my
share possibly invests with some part of my share which you will advise me
later.

Please Endeavour to keep this business out of open discussion because it
is strictly confidential between me and you only. If there is anything
that is not clear to you do ask me so that I will clarify you rather than
discussing it with someone that is not involved for our security reason.

Include your full name and address, your private phone number, your
profession and your Age. As soon as i receive this information from you I
will send to you the text application letter to enable us start the
processing of the fund immediately.
Looking forward hearing from you,

Again, sorry for intruding in your email, if you are interested then get
back to us.
Regards,
Dr, tony Williams.

Respected Sir,
Myself is Paras Ram Jala from India. In this very context, I would like to make it crystal clear that Mr. MR Toni Smith, Late husband of Mrs. Rosemary Smith (recently died) has deposited a sum of $6.5 million (SIX POINT FIVE MILLION DOLLARS) with your bank, who died in the year 2005 and her wife i.e. Mrs. Rosemary Smith was the sole beneficiary of the aforesaid fund. It is pertinent to mention here that Mrs. Rosemary Smith has issued a letter of authority in my favour while appointing me her as a sole beneficiary and to perform her last wishes of using this fund for the poor people suffering from different kind of disease so also use this money to fund churches, orphanages and widows propagating the word of God and to ensure that the house of God is maintained. Therefore, with the inspiration of God her kind heart chosen me for this kind act so that the great souls of her and her husband may be blessed with the heavenly pleasures by helping the poor fellows. It is further make clear that since my friend Mrs. Rosemary Smith was suffering from cancer of lungs and was hospitalised in Royal Hospital in Grece Athens, had wrote me some letters of authorisation but since I have not receiving any reply of my emails for the last many days, I am sure that my friend has passed away. Recently, I had received the above email from one MR TONY WILLIAMS saying himself to be a Senior Account Manager in Audit Department at Citi Bank, London. On receiving this e-mail, firstly I suspected but since MR TONY WILLIAMS introduced himself as a Bank Officer, I under the bonafide impression sent the required informations like full name, address, age and profession etc. But since then I have received no positive response, then it struck in mind that the said mail may be forged one and may be sent to me for collecting the information forgedly. Therefore, I am writting to your goodself to help me for the sake of God that no wrong person be produced in my place to receive the claim by anybody else with the connievance of such Bank Officer who are not only corrupt but a blot on the entire humanity that merely for their selfishness, they are even dare to do illegal act which in no way can be said to be justified in the interest of justice and in the interest of public at large. I therefore, vehemently praying your goodself to please investigate the entire matter at your level personally and ensure that no wrong or unauthorised person can able to receive the claim. I further reiterate that I am the sole claimant of the entire amount. I have all the valid and documentary proof including emails sent to me by Rosemary Smith before her death and I am always ready to produce the same as and when required by Bank authorities. Please advise me that what step I have to take right now because I am from India and want to act in accordance with the last wishes of Mrs. Rosemary Smith and her the great soul of her husband MR Toni Smith. Thanking you Sir,

This is to lodge a complaint against Citibank Credit Cards section. They have been constantly harasing my father Mr K R Kutty by sending SMS and phone calls asking for a payment of a card that doesn't even exist! According to them, my father has a card numbered xxxxxxxxxx6015 with an outstanding amount of Rs 6141. However, my father is in possession of no such card and they havent been able to provide proof of any such card existing.. I have had the worst experience with Citbank Credit Cards.

I am hoping no one will ever use them. I hope this matter will be taken seriously as it's a case of sheer harassment.

I received a collections call from Citibank for my Sears card. When talking to them, they informed me I had three months of late charges, which I didn't understand since I had never gotten a statement from them. I had remembered buying something in October and when I had not received any statement sent $17 in but appearently it was late so a late charge. Then they kept charging me late charges. I again used my card, which to my knowledge had nothing on it and never got a statement until I got this phone call. I was told when I can bring it to a current state, they will remove all the late fees. I call today, but they want me to pay more than I really owe, so that when they remove the late fee, they will owe me around $20. But now they are saying they will not remove the late fees because it is my fault that they had the wrong email address to send the statements to. Weird thing is, when I gave the lady my correct and only email address I've used over the last 10 years, it did not go to spam but directly into my inbox. Yet, the fact they had the wrong address is still my fault. I have refused to pay late fees, but they won't take the $23 for merchandise I do owe, because it's less than the due amount. All I want to do is pay the $23 and then cancel this card and never use Citibank for anything again. I finally made them send this to escallations because they kept telling me it was my problem. When did the customer end up being to blame for their mistakes is what I want to know.

Resolved
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Citibank please be warned!

To Whom It May Concern:

Below is how Citi Bank (via their Citi Card) took advantage of my family.

In March of 2003 I joined the military. The following November, my wife and I welcomed the arrival of our second child (a daughter). However, within days of her birth we discovered she had a very rare condition which required constant medical attention and equipment. My wife had to quit her job in order to receive the necessary training to take care of her if/when she was able to come home. During this time we used a Citi Card to assist with our normal living expenses and to help with the added expenses associated with our new reality. At the time I was stationed in Monterey, CA but our daughter was in Neo Natal Intensive Care in San Francisco (2 hrs away). Therefore, my wife maintained a residence in downtown San Fran while I maintained a residence at my duty station (no choice). I would travel quite often to and from San Fran to ensure my wife could get away and clear her head from the stresses associated with our situation. In May 2004 our daughter passed away. During the 6 months of her life, we accumulated $9,100 of Citi Card debt. In Dec 2004 we requested Citi Card close our account and stop interest accrual so we could financially recover and get our lives back. NOTE: We also had two other credit cards with separate companies that we used during this time. On my meager $16,000 a year military income, we couldn't dig ourselves out of this debt without some sort of relief.

Our other credit card companies gladly obliged and we were able to pay them back within two years. However, Citi Card refused to consider anything. We enrolled with a credit counseling company which specialized in negotiating deals. Citi Card ignored them while continuing to jack-up our interest rates (29%). By Jan 2007 we were nearing a $17,000 debt. After selling a home in May 2007, we offered Citi Card $9,000 cash and requested an option to make payments on remainder. DENIED! September 2007, offered $4,000 cash and requested an option to make payments. DENIED! Finally, in October 2007 when our debt balance was $20,000, they accepted $4,000 cash and agreed to monthly payments of $350 (at 5% interest).

PLEASE BE WARNED! Citi Bank/Card has no room for relief when life throws you an unfortunate/desperate situation. Please note, my wife and I took our financial obligation to Citi Card seriously and had/have every intention of fulfilling our obligation. However, we do not feel Citi Card dealt fairly. Additionally, continuing to charge nearly 30% interest without accepting any offer from us to settle this debt is quite unconscionable. Well done, Citi Card! You sure took me there.

Citibank poor customer service

I applied for a citibank credit card. I made my first transaction with the same. The statement for the same was not received by me. The bank leveid charges for late payment. I did make my payment based on the transaction I had made. Citibank now is charging interest for late payment.

When I had contacted Ms.Surekha R of the customer care at citibank,I was not given a favourable response.

Customer care is a farce. It should be re-worded as Company care.

All Citibank customers beware!

For Citibank in USA, California, Alhambra branch: customer service sucks

The customer service rep or supervisor, Winnie Tang, she is very unhelpful, mean, rough and rude. She has a [censor]y and a real realistic personality. I have to go to other branch for help as whatever she helped me was nothing. After other customer service representative from other branch helped me, I realized that she purposely delay or ignore my request for no reason. Whatever she is doing to Citibank customers, it's actually ruining the image of the company, Citibank.

Citibank mediclaim policy

Dear All,

This regarding the medicalim policy sold to me(Advocate Mr.Raj Kumar Singh Raghav) & my wife Mrs Uma Raghav after telephonically consent on the basis of my clean repayment record of Citibank Credit Card.I have never received the policy bonds which were sold to me for which the premium has been paid by me in time. Now i am getting calls for renewal premium for current year.

My concern is that, why should i pay the premium when i have not given my consent to again continue my policy for current year?
Secondly i have not received the Policy bond.I totally don't know the term & conditions of the policy. Now i am getting calls & your employees are saying that we'll blacklist you for getting any loan from any finance institute. Now let me clear you all that i don't want any kind of loans so stop giving such lure to me for loan.I am an advocate & i am gonna sue agains your company in consumer court if i do not received the policy bond & permium receipts which i have paid.

With immediate effect stop making me calls & send me a confirmation letter for discontinuence of policy which i have not applied for.I want a written appology letter from your company for the mental stress i had undergone due to your irrelavant calls.

Please clarify me on written how can your company issu a medic claim policy to a credit card holder of citibank without taking his/her signatures.I want all these clarifications in written otherwise i will have to take help of media also.

Citibank missing money from account

This is to bring to your notice a serious issue that iam facing with my salary account. This is a DELL corporate account ([protected]) and is in the name of Amita Vijaykumar. Over the past couple of months there has been 3 instances cash being withdrawn from her account which she was not aware of. She has started checking her transactions online recently, so we are not sure if such incidents have happened earlier as well. The first instance when she came to know about this was, when there was a transaction on (02/08/07), she tried to withdraw cash of Rs.5000 from the ATM in our office premises(Ref #[protected] 7858) but it returned an error and when she contacted customer care they confirmed that the amount has not been dispensed. But when she checked later she found a deficit of Rs.5000 in her account. When she contacted customer care again they said that the cash has been withdrawn by her and nothing can be done about it. But luckily the amount was debited back into the account on 28/08/07. The next instance was on 05/09/07(Ref # [protected] 7858 ) when out of the blue Rs.7500 was withdrawn without her knowledge and just like before when she contacted customer care and complained, they said that it was she who has withdrawn the amount since it was a ATM withdrawal and nobody else could have done it. But later the amount was deposited back on 25/09/07. Now the third instance was on 03/10/07 when RS.10000 disappeared without her knowledge (Ref# [protected] 7858) and she is still waiting for it to be debited back. This does not look normal as it has happened with the same person three times. So all of us here at DELL are having doubts about transacting with Citibank. I hope some action is taken after bringing this to your notice. Amita can be contacted on [protected] or her email is [protected]@dell.com.

Also would like to complain about a problem Amita has with a Citibank credit card([protected]) that she was using earlier. Though she had settled total outstanding amount of Rs.10000 in the month of April she has recently received a statement saying that she still has not settled the amount and along with interest she has to pay around Rs.13000. I have attached the confirmation mail she received after settling the total amount due.

All these experiences have completely shattered her faith in Citibank. And since Citibank is our company’s official salary account all of us are having doubts about transacting with Citibank as word spreads really fast about such serious issues.

I am hoping that you will sort this out and help restore our faith in your bank. Also Amita has to be compensated suitably for the inconveniences she had to go through. If nothing happens from here our only option will be to go to the press or to complain to RBI regarding the issue attaching all relevant transaction documents supporting our complaints. Also we may have to request our corporate heads to discontinue the relationship our firm has with Citibank, citing all the bitter experiences we have been having.
also i was contacted by people from CITI bank regarding this and they informed that since its an ATM withdrawal they cannot do much regarding the money that is missing from my account. No steps are taken to get the issue sorted. every time i am being called by different people from citibank and i have to repeat my self n number of times. I am tired of this... can some one please help me. I am very frustrated as Rs.17,000 is missing from on account.

Perhaps cash has been withdrawn fron the employee's account without her knowledge because of identity theft. Perhaps the representative of her employer should refrain from providing the employee full name, account numbers, reference numbers, and other detailed information on the world wide web. The theft could be internal to Citi Financial. But, this display of information on the world wide web could certainly be colllected by numerous identity thieves world wide (emphasis). The ignorance and ineptitude is no longer funny. It is increasingly not even noticed.

Citibank citibank does not send statements and levies huge fee!

I made a purchase of only Rs.3000/- on my citibank credit card but the bank did not send me any statement. Upon calling them I was told that the statement had been dispatched. They said that they will send another one and so this time I got it.
To my dismay, I noticed that they levied a penalty of "late payment " in addition to interest payable by me. So, my purchase of 3000/- cosed me around 3800/-.

Banks are making huge amount of money through this route while the poor Indian customer is being fleeced. I hope they are penalized severely for the malpractice.

Citibank faulty mediclaim policy sold by citibank

Dear Sir,

Mediclaim Policy brought thru my Citibank Credit Card no. [protected]

I live in Mumbai, India and was using a Citbank credit card 2 years back. In Jan 2006 I bought a mediclaim policy which I did not get tuill April end. nly when I called them in April about the status that the policy was delivered at my house and that too was wrong. On conveying the same to them they took their own sweet time in responding.

Then they send me a revised policy with correct details. But again the opolicy is such thgat one has to contact Chennai which is another state for recovery. So I ask them to cancel my policy in June (within 45 days of policy being sent to me)

They reversed only 25% of the fee and kept sending me bills for teh 75% amount as I had cancelled afer 6 months , if they calculate from 1st jan 2006.

I argued and wrote to them stating that in teh first place the rules of cancellation were not made clear to me at te htime of purchase and also that had the policy come to me in Jan, then the same would be done in jan. But since I got the policy only in April end, how can they expect me to cancel the policy within 45 days of issue! It is highly unjustful. i also wrote to their central office at Chennai as they don't have any Credit card office in Mumbai! This was another humbug. No office of Citibank Credit Card in Mumbai.

I kept writing mails after mails and letter after letters. But they don't seem to listen So now I have decided to fight it out with citibank. Want you to help spread the unjust practice abroad.

Just yesterday I received an SMS for paying Rs. 5,700/-. This is an increase of Rs. 4000 by way of interest on a payment of Rs. 1700/- which I am anyway not liable to pay.

Need your help and guidance in suing Citibank for the trouble they are causing to me by sending me unnecessary SMS and statements.

Regards,

Ashish Dalvi

Citibank opening tradeline credit card without my permission

I recieved a credit card from citi, without applying for a credit card with them, or for that matter anyone else. I called customer service, who would not dicuss account with me, smartly told me that that account # was not open, and citi doesn't open accts without permission. I never authorized my credit to be pulled, or asked for a credit card from citi. Nor did I appreciate the attitude when I called to complain about it.

Citibank lack of 24 hour fraud line!

I found out today (the hard way naturally) that Citibank does not offer a 24-hour Fraud line for it's credit cards. You can now only report a lost card, fraud or seek help between 8 am and midnight EST. The web site is however still advertising 24 hour support, and I have never seen any communications from the bank canceling the 24 hour help lines.

This blatant cost cutting exercise clearly reduces the level of service to the customer and also raises the risk of fraud. Who is liable for a card lost at 3am in California, which can not be reported until 11pm the following morning?

Citibank cards should therefore not be relied up on for any sort of international travel as most countries tend to operate on different times to EST. Nor should you consider using or owning a Citibank card anywhere West of the Appalachians. Those lucky enough to live in the EST time zone should be very careful only to travel or use the card during office hours.

Citibank credit card given without application!

Citibank is one of the most cheater bank in india and Reserve Bank must take note of this. I work in an IT company which has salary accounts with CitiBank. On 1st October 2007 Citibank sent me Indian Oil Credit Card direct on my address. I had never opted for any credit card, neither in written and nor in verbal. Citibank is a damn cheater bank. First they send free credit cards and then they charge you like hell. Even after calling them on phonebanking, their customer care officers laughed at me, they are disgusting. Even sending more than 3 emails no reply is from CitiBank and they continue to cheat.

CitiBank thinks that what will a common man do wrong with them and they will escape by bribing our corrupt politicians. Reserve bank must take action against credit card companies which are still using pathetic magnetic card reader technology which can be easily hacked.

Citibank is no.1 cheater bank in india.

Citibank officials if you are reading this complaint , then cancel all credit cards named in Abhijit B. Lele. I don't want any credit cards. All credit card companies are fraud!

You guys want your money? send me statements! when your peolpe say call us next week I will, I don't need 3 more phone call that week for the same thing. This harassment and I am having my phone provider supply me with phone records to prove that this is harassment. And will send it to the proper authorities. Lee Lakin.

I have been applying for personal loans in various banks for my emergency purpose, but I have been hearing from the bank that I applied that my application is rejected. Most of the banks do not say the reason, but I heard from couple of banks that there is a CIBIL record, that I have an outstanding payment of 2.5 lacs that I need to clear for credit cards. They said, they do not have the Bank details of the same. This was a shocking news for me, as I DO NOT have any such huge outstanding amount from my credit card that I hold. One fine day, 6-8months, before, I got a call from CITIBANK and there was a collection person from the bank at my door step, saying that I have 2.5lacs outstanding amount and I need to pay them immediately. I was shocked to hear this, as I DO NOT HOLD any citibank cards. They have all my information correctly (My name, address, phone numbers, work details). I hold only ICICI Credit Card, where I have 90K, that I have been paying monthly minimum amount regularly.

Please help me in getting out of this issue, as this is projected as a black mark in my banking history and all my loans application will go a rejection if I need to apply in the future.

This is a serious fraudelant acitivity where the banks are projecting on the customers where they get victimised. Will need to raise a serious complaint againts the Bank.

Request your sincere suggestion and help in this regard.

Citibank on two of my credit cards added the Credit Protector insurance. My wife ahs been doing the bills up to now and when I saw the charges on my account, I flipped out. Citibank put the insurance on both account without my permission. I never have automatic anything on my credit cards . On the first card after several heated phone calls, they credited me back almost $ 3, 000 because they new i didn't authorize it. The second card when I sent certified letters in, I was told they are investigating it. I wanted to make payment based on my actual balance not including the $ 7, 000 they were trying to fraudulently bill me for, but they told me I couldn't. So I was waiting for the investigation to be complete supposedly 30 days. After repeated calls and several certified letters they told me I needed to send in a request for a copy of the phone conversation. I did did certified also. After 3 weeks I called to find out what was going on with my request and Citibank told me that I was no longer being dealt with by Citibank. They sent me to an outside collection service / law firm. Just how unethical can you get. I never recieved a copy of the tape only another letter telling me they have proof but obviously I am not getting a copy. It what they did to me legal ? Anyone Know ? Anyone else have fraudulant credit protector added to their account without permission ? Class Action may be the way to go.

We paid for their credit protection plan. When we needed to use it, we filed a claim. I got injured really bad. I had to have two surgeries for the same injury over a period of three months. The credit protection people told me to list both surgeries. Several months later they canceled my credit protection stating I put two surgeries on one form. It has been impossible to talk with either citibank or the credit protection department. In December my credit protection was canceled. I have been hounded day and night by collection people and citibank. I am still disabled. This is a terrible company and I wish someone could help us file a claas action lawsuit against them. I know there has to be others in the same situation as us.

It is with great regret I have to inform that for the last one week I have been trying to book a railway ticket on online reservation site of the railways. But the moment I put in valid details of my Citibank credit card, I get a regret message that the banker does not approve of making payment. There have bee more failures whenever I made attempts in the belief that I might be putting wrong details.

As a result, not only I lost reservation but lost my creditworthiness as well.

I request CITIBANK to immediately cancel and withdraw my credit card.

Citibank credit card is really disgusting. I talked to their call center agents and even a supervisor to complain about the non usable extension card and just recently updated card and they terminated/revoke my card without due notice.

They are thinking that the complaint I made will be answered by sudden revocation of my gold card and then harassed me to pay all my dues right away. They don't want to improve their system and really they sucks because there were payments not credited to mine when they change my card from silver to gold using a different account number.

Citibank Fraud and cheating!

1. Notice that even if you EFT payments on the day they're due, Citicard won't post it until after the due date, then charge you, not one, but TWO month's finance charges.

2. If you use a lower-rate check (or other transfer deal), with no payments until a certain date... then make a payment on your credit card balance, they apply your payment to the lower-rate balance first and charge you a finance charge on the charges you were trying to pay off.

Yes, off course all this is in the fine-print. Nice! Not the kind of company I'd recommend doing business with.

First off, by EFT are you referring to payments on Citicards.com or Pay-by-Phone - if so, if it's after 5pm EST theses payments will post for the next bank business day.

If you're referring to your bank electronically paying Citi (ie. Billpay Service) this is NOT instant.. It can take 3-5 days to post the other creditor (not just Citi).

2nd) in regards to the finance charges, they're called "residual finance charges" Once the payment is LATE or not received in FULL by the due date, it activates a "daily financing" on the account, so finance charges will build up on the account util the balance is paid in full by a duedate, thus far - resulting in 2 month's worth of finance charges, and yes, it includes those new transactions you made.. read your agreement - and no, it's not just Citi.

3rd) Citi advises you in the card agreement, the terms & conditions of the offer, and if you do it by phone, they TELL you "your payments and credits will be allocated to pay off lower rate balances before higher rate balances"

Citigroup is already in the hot water with the New York State Attorney General and Banking Department. I wonder how much longer they are going to keep ripping off and destroying peoples credit. As credit card holders we should have more protection from the government from these credit card companies scams. I have credit ranging in the 700's and am worried that they will temper with my scores. I have a open account with Citicard, I sent a MoneyGram Money Order in the amount of $300, well they never received it or so they say. So i have a late charge that I paid. I have called more then a dozen times. Finally had someone that told me they actually cashed it. Previous to this call I verified with MoneyGram the date that this was cashed. To my surprise, the representative verified the date that I had. She told me to fax them a copy of the stub to my money order. Then I called again and all of a sudden no one knows what this other rep was talking about.? Wow, they are quik to take your payment over the phone or internet but play dumb with customer service!

Citibank Credit cards recovery

I Mr. Sanket Anand Vaidya Age 25 Years am holding a Citibank International Credit Card No [protected]. My total amount due on this card was Rs. 4670/- with a due date of 15/07/2007. I have made a payment of Rs. 4700/- wide chq. no. 263805 of The Thane Janata Sahakari Bank, Khopat Branch, Thane which was debited from my bank Account on 06/07/2007 i.e. 9 days before the due date. Even then i and my family was suffering mental harassment as i was getting calls at my residence and my mobile at least 10 times a day from Citigroup Office number [protected] from 06/07/2007 to 24/07/2007 starting from morning 07.00 A.M. to night 08.00 P.M. This is because the Citibank records were not reflecting the payment i had done but in my bank statement it had been debited well in advance. I have even faxed my bank statement several times on [protected](Citibank Fax No.).

SO IS DOING THE TOTAL CREDIT CARD PAYMENT IN ADVANCE MY FAULT?
This was not enough. CITIBANK also charged me late payment fees as i had not made the credit card payment on time. (which was later reversed after one month in the next billing statement)

After this in the month of August 2007 Citibank also threw me in their Defaulters List by adding the name in CIBIL (CREDIT INFORMATION BUREAU (INDIA) LIMITED) without any of my fault as i had done the full credit card payment 9 days before the due date.

I came to know that my name was added to CIBIL from ICICI Bank. In the month of August 2007 i had applied for a OVER DRAFT ( OD ) facility in ICICI Bank for Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakh Only ) for my business which i needed very urgently to expand my business. The Over Draft was SANCTIONED by ICICI Bank.

But later in this month of September while doing the disbursement of the Over Draft Facility it was rejected by the Credit Manager of ICICI Bank as my name was by that time added in the DEFAULTERS list in CIBIL for the late payment of CITIBANK Credit Card.

Now i am in a state of mental shock as i had given many commitments of expanding my business on the basis of the ICICI Bank OD Facility. My mother is an Heart Patient. She and my other family members have suffered a TORTURE and Mental Harassment from Citibank Credit Card people as they would harass us all from morning 7 AM to 8 PM by calling on my residence number and Mobile No.for almost 20 DAYS.

AND my dream of expanding my business could not be realized. I have suffered huge financial loss and i am in a state of mental shock because of CITIBANK.

Now what should i do to clear my name from the defaulters list in CIBIL?

Can i fulfill my dreams in future? As till my name is in the defaulters list in CIBIL no financial institutions will help me.
PLEASE ADVICE ME smb!

Citibank They don't care!

Citibank
Customer Service Center
P.O. Box 6500
Sioux Falls, S.D. [protected]

My complaint is against Citibank, or more specifically, their credit card division known as Citicards. Back in the Fall they came out with a promotional flyer for the Christmas season whereby you could sign up for a program and get 10% back up to $100 at purchases made at department, discount and apparel stores between certain dates. The first hint of trouble was that their definition of what they consider to be one of those stores was at best vague. I needed to buy a new computer so I signed up for their program. I never was credited with my $100. Why? It had nothing to do with the item I bought but where I bought it from, Circuit City. By definition that is considered an electronics store and was not eligible for the discount. The bigger problem here was this. In that promotion flyer they listed three examples of how you could save. One was a cashmere scarf for $80, you save $8. Another was a snow blower for $130, you save $13. But the other was a HDTV for $790, you save $79. Now think about this! If you were going to bu y an HDTV where would you most likely go to purchase one? That's rig ht, an electronics store such as Best Buy or Circuit City which doesn't eve n qualify for the discount! At the very least this promotional flyer was deceptive. I have cut up my Citibank card and gone with CapitalOne, a much better interest rate as well. I will make sure this costs them more than if they just would have given me my $100. The problem is, they don't care. Just do a search on this site under Citibank and watch how many complaints come up. That in itself speaks volumes about their customer service, far more than this letter ever will.

Citibank is serving very poor to the customers. I have a suvidha debit card with that bank. That account has been closed without any intimation. There was some amount in that account, to get that amount its happened more than one month. I roamed several times to that Bank in Begumpet in Hyderabad. I also heard there is some contradiction with Indian government, because of that ECS is also becoming very problem in that bank. Please be careful while you are contacting this bank.

Citibank Citibank lost my cheque

Citibank Pune has lost my Cheque & is trying to trace it for the last 6 weeks but no help

My name is Ms Anisha Tauro. I hold a Suvidha Saving's a/c & an ERA with citibank. These a/c's were set up in January 2006, when i started working.

I am currently in UK & its not possible for me to be physically available in Pune to deal with my grievance.

My company had issued me a Full & Final settlement cheque.

As i mentioned i am not in town to deal with this personally, my sister, Ms Chetna Tauro had accidently deposited this cheque in my era a/c instead of my Suvidha savings a/c . However the money was not credited. I asked her to call citibank & follow up to check what had happened & she was told that only money transferred electronically from my previous employer can be credited into the ERA a/c, hence the cheque was not honored. So now the concern was how do we get this cheque credited into my savings a/c. She spoke to various agents on th call center, but no one took ownership of he call but instead kept us in a loop of calls! If all the calls she made are noted, you will find all the notes of all the conversation she has had on my Suvidha Saving's a/c.

Finally in all this confusion she was told her that citibank would be send the cheque by post to us & we would receive it in a weeks time.

A week later my sister called the call center as we had not received the cheque as yet & she was again told that the cheque is lost & cannot be found, citibank will courier the cheque when it is found.

This is a serious security breach & i have EMI's passing form my a/c & i dont think citibank would take responsibility if the EMI bounces. So now, not only do i have to follow up with citibank time & again for the past 6 weeks but also make sure my a/c has enough credit balance to make sure the EMI not not bounce. This means my commitments to other important things is of lesser priority & citibank seems to have taken the topmost priority.

Its getting frustrating for me & my sister to keep following only to be told each time that the cheque is still not traced. Bearing in the mind that the cheque will not be honoured if its passes over 3 months.

I am suprised that citibank has lost a cheque & is not able to provide customer service. Whats even more worrying is that if the cheque not not been credited, why did citibank not let me know that they will not be able to deposit the cheque in my ERA a/c & return my cheque back to me?

I cant stress any more on how frustrating it is to follow up as citibank never kept us updated. The amount is quiet high & for all i know somebody must have already got it encashed! (am saying this as there is a security breach & citibank cant find my cheque & return it to me).

I don’t know what to do & I don’t know where to go!

Anisha

Go back to the writer of the check. See if the check has been cashed and by whom. If it has been cashed then Citibank is responsible if you deposited it and have a receipt. If it has not been cashed then have the writer of the check stop payment on old check and rewrite you a new check. Checking to see if the check has been cashed is the first thing you should of done. Second thing- Went back to bank with information from check writer. 3-With proof of having been cashed you would now have them. 4- If not cashed-get new check from check writer. 5. If check was been cashed then fraud has taken place.
