I applied for a loan modification with Citimortgage in July 2009 after my husband was laid off for almost two years. Today is now March 15th, 2010 and we still have no resolution for our modification. We entered into forberance for a short time where we made partial payments and were told that the modification would be processed within 30 days and we could call and check the status weekly. I am now on my third loan modification application because we were told the first two applications were closed but no one at citimortgage could tell us why and on one occasion we were told that it should not have been closed. I still call to check the status of the third application but starting two weeks ago all five numbers that I have called has you enter your account information, tells you to hold for a representative then hangs up on you. When they call our house we answer and they hang up. Now I can't even talk to anyone. What kind of company is this? I do keep excellent records of people I speak with including names and employee ID numbers but now I can't even get though to anyone. Oh, just for giggles I pressed the option for a NEW LOAN and got a person right away to help me with a new loan but nothing for exsisting customers, imagine that!

I was horrified to read these complaints as we've gone through the same thing with citimortgage! We started asking for a home loan modification in July 2010. We did the paperwork online, sent paperwork, faxed paperwork and they always seemed to have lost it! We paid for overnight shipping on three seperate occasions and they'd tell me to call in the following week to see if paperwork was received. Same answer, we didn't receive it or "if" they received it, we needed updated banking statements. We'd get phone calls from Citimortgage and when you'd say hello, they'd hang up. I've already gotten a phone call from them in and again, no one was on the line, AND next thing you know, I'd get an email from someone in lost mitigation stating, "as per our conversation" when I NEVER EVEN HAD A CONVERSATION with them. Finanally, in January 2011 I received a letter saying, "as you know, your home is in foreclosure! Holy cow! Was this a shock as we were making EVERY attempt to make over 1/2 the required payment showing we were making an effort to keep our home. Then, on one dreadful Monday early evening, our doorbell rang...It was a Sherriff! He gave us paperwork from Citi's lawyer stating our home was in foreclosure and we had to go to court and blah blah blah...talk about having your life flash in front of your eyes!

My husband and I built our home 15 yrs. ago and I was not about to let them take it from us when we made EVERY possible effort to resolve this. None of those idiots at Citimortgage have a clue what their job is! All you get is a runaround...

I began searching the internet and found a lawyer group based in Florida, Starr Law Group...$2600.00 later, our home was saved! They did in 3 months what I was trying to do since July 2010...BUT, thankfully, our home was saved. Oh and when we needed to make our first payment after the loan modification, one idiot said we had to send a certified check, another told me we could pay debit by phone and post date it...THANK GOD I checked on our account on citi's website and I was able to make the payment because YOU CANNOT POST DATE FROM A DEBIT CARD! Did anyone call to tell me this? NO! What a bunch of [censored]es! So apparantly the so called post dated debit card was cancelled...again, thank god I checked or my first payment would've been late and all the stress & money would've meant nothing...wait until I get a job again! I will bust my ### to get our credit in good standing again and I WILL DROP THEM AS MY MORTGAGE HOLDER! Bunch of damm crooks...Oh and the $$$$ amount we had to put on the back of the loan to bring everything current...$15, 000.00...NEVER SHOULD'VE GOTTEN TO THAT POINT...I hope to God there is a class action law suit and they have to eat that $15, 000.00...may the all rot in effing hell!

I am not going to tell the same story as everyone on here. Just sent letters off to the attorney generals office in florida. Sent documentation to ftc in washington, also to the ftc in florida.

Long and short of it is this
1) unethical truth in lending practices
2) Notary Fraud ...they took first document I signed and had notarized that got me into the HAMP program and switched notarized page to new loan modification paper work. they doubled my payments
3) They back dated documents HA I kept very good notes on times and dates and the person I was speaking with while they were taking my automatic payments every month for the original documents. I saved my western union grams every month.
(side bar the recorded conversations by law cannot be destroyed )

I have a foreclosure attorney & now have an attorney to handle class action suit on a contingency basis but I need a few others to get the ball rolling ...Sorry this is for florida residents only
Again there is no out of pocket expense to you to see if you fit into the class action of deceptive trade practices that seem common place by all the reviews on here.

If you would like to take part in this class action please contact
James at jmhstocks@yahoo.com
Please we all are in need of help and I am sharing this with all of you so you know how to get some answers from our elected government officials.
I will not stop fighting this cruel and just criminal actions by Citimortgage.
