The branch ATM taking a 1000 dollar deposit but not recognizing it, saying there is an error but I can't get my cash back
At 1:50 PM on February 13 2023 at citizens bank in Haddon heights NJ, I used the outside ATM to make a deposit. I deposited 1000 dollars. 800 in 50s 200 in 20s. The ATM took my cash in it's slot. It told me that it can't process it nor can it return my money. The bank manager also did not return the money nor show much care about it. I made a police report with an officer on site.
Desired outcome: My1000 dollars plus 1000 dollars for emotional damage incurred.
Credit card
I have been trying to get some assistance with my credit card. I only use it for international purposes and I am questioning fees on an international transaction which seem excessive, especially as they claim not to have a fee. I called the [protected] line and have been on hold now for one hour and 16 minutes. It is Wednesday evening. It cannot be this busy? Or do they just have no one working tonight? I don't think I want this company as my international credit card. I am in the States, but if I were overseas, this would become alot more tedious.
Desired outcome: I want them to contact me and resolve this, and unless they can address this non-customer-service, I want to cancel my card.
Length of claim response
I filed a claim on 1/9/23 as a citizen's bank credit card employee or system malfunction uploaded a check that I used twice. Duplicating the amount of credit used. The check was for 556.59 and a balance and transfer fee were also duplicated for 22.27. I have called to request a status update on my claim and continue to be told not to worry about it and that they are working on it and provided me with no estimated date of resolution other than two billing cycles possibly. However, my credit score shows that I have used these funds. I asked if I may go to a branch to get this matter resolved and customer services states that they could not. It is unclear why this issue is taking so long as it was not my error. It is unclear if I will be charged interest on these funds come next month. It is unclear how this is affecting my credit score in which I hold valuable as I attempt to become a first-time home buyer.
Desired outcome: A specific ETA and information on why this occurred and how citizens will prevent this from happening again.
Mortgage
Since February 2022, I Sharon Williams, daughter of the late June Ancar Dowden ESTATE, my mother died July 7, 2018, a succession was done and i obtain the property and is still living in the home as of today. Well, I have been having lots of issues with the mortgage company Citizens Bank. I did a modification because I couldn't afford the amount of the mortgage because I'm on a fix income. The company said for 3 months' pay a certain amount and then I did pay it. Now as of today the company is telling me that there is a "Lien" on my mother's home which I had no knowledge of until they told me. So, I went to the Orleans Parish Records office and obtained the document which states that there was no lien on the property and i sent Citizens the document email, postal mail, and fax. On Dec 1 i called to make a payment on the home and i was told not to because the modification is still pending, I was told to called back towards the end of Dec., so I called, and I was told that the modification was cancelled. I couldn't understand why this had happened. So MMI had been reaching out to help me navigate this problem. This company has been giving me the runaround about the modification. I provided all the info that they asked for and I can't understand why this company don't want to give me any answers. I feel like they are trying to take my home from me. We have been being in contact with the company every week since December and still no answers. PLEASE HELP THIS COMPANY IS TRASH WE HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANYTHING RESOLVED STILL WAITING ON THE SUPERVISOR TO CALL FOR WEEKS NOW JUST TRASH

8:10 PM Wednesday, Janurary 18, 2024
After a quick pit stop for snacks, gas, and a pack of smokes (typical evening) I decided to head on over to a local citizens branch being it was close by and check my balance on my checking accout.
I hit up the ATM, insert my debit card, type in the PIN number that only I know, go through all the necessary prompts to get me to my balance inquiry. "ENTER" a few brief moments pass and I'm now looking at a message that says "your transaction has been cancled, contact your financial institution"
Now for starters "THIS is my financial institution" and on top of that what's so difficult about figuring out the balance of my primary checking account? Thinking this has to be a glitch I give it another go. This time I'm informed that my debit card has been deactivated. Furious, I storm out to my car and look at my phone where I discover an urgent email notifying me of "suspicious activity" on my account. Checking my balance has been deemed suspect.
This message unlike others isn't a simple matter of yes it was me or no I don't recognize the activity nope this message tells me to call the bank's fraud department immediately. I do so only to be told I will have to wait an hour or longer before being given the opportunity to resolve this issue, so what do I do, I sit and wait. It's now 9:40 PM and I've just confirmed all activity to be mine and not fradulent. So much for buying Mom that jacket she wanted for her birthday tomorrow - the sale ended today, we're doing brunch in the morning, I just deposited the necessary funds to be able to affords the jacket this afternoon but no thanks to my FINANCIAL INSTITUTION my mother will not be getting the jacket she wanted because checking one's balance is suspect! I'll be withdrawing all my money from citizens tomorrow after brunch and shopping for a new bank I highly suggest you all do the same

After receiving the offer in my personal email account I called the Citizens help line for assistance. I wanted to make sure all the requirements were fullfilled correctly so I let them be my guide. As it turned out they didn't even know the details of their own promotion and they mislead and misinformed me. At the time I was assured everything was done correctly and all I had to do was wait for the promotion to end. As it turns out when I called to see why it never happend I was told I did not qualify. I requested an escalation and review of the case which they did and after pulling the conversation tape of my call I was assured once again that I would be qualified for the bonus offer. After they told me I needed to hold the account and just wait the 3 month period once again I did not receive the bonus. I called one more two more three and four mor times I was told no worries all would be well on December 31st. Of course it was not and finally on January 4th of 2023 I was told the manager that approved that was no longer with the firm and I would not be qualifying. I want this resolved in my favor this is awful customer treatment just becaue they can get away with it.
Desired outcome: I would like this escalated to a higher office at the bank and I would like this reolved in my favor.

I live in a City where there were affordable Housing Grants with Income limits.
The Loan Officer has received all of my documents and predicted income. After paying for a Home Inspection and paying for a Home Appraisal, I was then told the devastating news, that I no longer qualified for the Property since I was over the income limit.
What recourse do I have since I have paid almost $2000 for these two services only to be told AFTER the FACT?
The Loan Officer should have just informed that I would be over the income limit and to forget about this property, instead, the blame was placed on the City.
What responsibility do Loan Officers have and why can they not be held responsible? I was transparent in income and employment.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement of home inspection and appraisal fees paid for on a Property I was never income qualified due to the income limit of said State.

I have been a customer of the bank for over three years. I have excellent credit. My credit card balance was $15.20. My bill was due December 8th and I called on the 12th and spoke to a customer service representative another issue and it was never mentioned about my balance. On December 15th, I had to call the customer service again because of the same issue that happened on the 12th and from the prior month. I asked to speak to a manager at this point. That is when I was told credit limit went from $9,000 down to $1,400; a difference of $7,600, because I was seven (7) days late on a payment. A payment that I sent in the mail. I am on disability and get paid on the third. I mail my bills once a month, but to drop a loyal, good standing customers credit limit with no fair warning is beyond words. I'm at a total loss of words at how this establishment
treats its customers. I made the $15.20 payment over the phone. I have never been late on a payment. The issue on the 12th and the prior month was over your "courtesy check promotion". First, I was never notified of my account being hacked, then this... twice. BAD, BAD BUSINESS.
Desired outcome: I would like my $9,000 credit limit back. I would also like the service charges charged by my bank Key Bank for a second charge back on your "courtesy check" not going through again.
Customer satisfaction is not their #1 priority especially to loyal, excellent standing customers. Seems pretty obvious they'd rather lose your business than fix the problem, not once, but twice.
credit card fraud
last 2 months i henry magyar have had credit card fraud committed on my credit card account and CitizensBank has done nothing about it. now i am trying to close the credit card out and it is left open under different numbers allowing for more credit card fraud to occur. i tried contacting CitizensBank and they just leave me on hold for hours and later tell me its still under investigation.

I was called 6 days ago by a woman at citizens bank. She left a message. We were told we had 30 days to come in. My mother opened an account for my son 5/16 17.. his name is John salerno...account ends in 2980. He is 18 years old. When we went into the bank today they said the money has already been escheat. $712. It is the holidays and we are on food stamps.. this account was for John in case of emgencey. We trusted the bank and they robbed us>

Today 11/26, between 12 pm and 12:30, I went to the bank in the McIntyre Square Giant Eagle in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. I have a $5.00 bill that is ripped in half. I spoke with Dave. He said he could not replace it. When I asked him why, he said he could not replace it because the serial number was ripped. I remarked, "You're kidding!" He retorted, "No, I'm Dave." I was appalled at his attitude and told him that I did not need a smart mouth. He said, "I already told you two times." I said, "Well then you should have told me 3 times." He said it again. I let him see my checkbook so that he could see that I was a good customer. I told him he owed me an apology for his smart mouth, and he gave me a sarcastic sounding apology. I told him that I was going to report him. He said, "Tell whoever you want."
I have just recently received bad news about my husband's health and am in no mood for rude tellers. I have never had this kind of experience with Citizens.

I made a transfer on sept 06,2022, and it's still not posting to my account, this is totally ridiculous after 2 1/2 months. All i want is the money to post into my account, i've called several 1800's numbers ,no luck with any thing.. I've wrote to the bank in providence ,sent them the name of the bank manager ( brittanty rekun ) in milford,pa which resulted in no help at all. Cash Advance Provisions to Checking Account
My checking x1910 had $7 after a big transaction. I hurried down to the central branch in Rochester NY to use a cash advance from a Merrick Bank credit card to pop $100 into checking to avoid a big $35 overdraft fee in the future this month. Now, Merrick Bank had verified to me that I had $50 or more at my disposal. However, the stupid teller at the branch was unable to perform the transaction to obtain the desired outcome--first a cash advance of $100, then a cash advance of $75. It should have gone through. I think she contrived not to. My account therefore remains at risk until about 11/27 when an expected direct deposit comes through from Citizens bank itself.
Desired outcome: No overdraft penalty occurs.

Financial Fraud / ID Theft
On 07.29.22 I was scammed as I tried to recover my contacts on my iPhone. This resulted in the scammer's' attempt to transfer money from my checking account to my Venmo account - two transfers totaling a few dollars shy of $5,000 were eventually rejected by Citizens. Another two transfers were made from my account to Google Pay. These transactions were within $1 of the aforementioned amount to Venmo. These transactions cleared my account on the following business day (08.01.22, I think). Within a few days the bank did issue a temporary credit to reimburse me while the investigation was initiated.
On 07.30.22 I visited the W Hartford CT branch and set up a new checking account. A representative advised me not to close the old checking account until the investigation was completed.
Since that time, I have tried more than a dozen times to obtain the status of the investigation. For the first few weeks this was done, as I was instructed by bank staff, through the customer service department. In each and every one of those contacts, the CSR was not able to provide the status. Starting in mid to late August, I have been working with Francisco, the branch manager. He continues to advise me "just be patient", advises that he has spoken to the fraud department and that the investigation is still on-going.
I would be extremely appreciative if someone at Citizens Bank would advise me how long I will have to wait for completion and closure. Thus far I have found no such individual. Please do not put your trust or your money into citizens access, citizens bank or now called citizens. They have the most rudest customer service. Some of their customer service people don't speak very good english. Hector and shay are very rude. When you ask for a manager or supervisor there's never one available or they are in meetings all day long which is not true. You have to wait for a call back, which never happens. If you want to do any ach transfer out. They do a text every time, the text is either severely delayed or never comes through, same as the email. Citizens will never let you do a ach transfer yourself, you have to let them do it for you, from a so called back office. Also they will ask you alot of pereonal questions that you have to answer or they refuse you access to your money period. The request takes a couple to a few days to request your ach transfer, then a couple or few more days. So that being said it will take approximately 4 to maybe 5 days for transfer to be completed. I am still waiting for my funds to be transferred out. Even if you can do a ach transfer yourself it still takes several days for the money to move. I don't trust this online bank at all. Please do not deposit any of your hard earned money in this bank or online bank. Also when you establish a deposit, do not allow the bank to pull the funds from your external account because it takes 5 business days or longer to have the funds clear, closer to 7 days. If you want yo deal with poor customer service, headaches or hassell gaining access to your money, go right ahead and deal with these totally incompetent. Again you can do what you want, I am not telling you not to do any business with this online bank, its up to you it's your choice what you do, but if you don't want the hassle or headaches from this bank, I highly recommend and highly suggest doing business with a different bank. I can not wait until my account is closed. Please check out all their reviews, it's a terrible bank all around
Also your interest will not be credited at the end of the month and will not be credited on the 1st of the month either. They claim they don't operate like other real banks do, in fact they wait to credit your account 30 days after you open the account, they do not credit in the morning, they wait until the end of the work day to credit you your interest that you earned. Incompetent banking all around. Not highly recommend at all. Stay away if you don't want the hassle and headaches.

Citizens loan through vivint
I opened an account with Vivint July 2022 for my security cameras and have been paying them monthly on time as always. I did not know about this account or any payments needed to be made. I was told to pay Vivint. Once I found out, I immediately called Citizens and paid my balance in full for August, September and October of 2022. As of today 10/06/2022, I have paid off my loan in full with a confirmation. I am in the middle of purchasing a home and because of Citizens/Vivint my credit score dropped 163pts. Is there any way you can please put my account in good standing. The credit bureau said it's possibe since you have me in a 38-day late comment. My credit went from 810 to 647 and now my mortgage broker told me my credit score is in the 500s and I don't know why. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. This may ruin my home purchase. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

i was charged 6 times fees of 35$ and i recieved an email that i will get my fees back and of course it was covered the over drawn then with posotive account again i was charged another fee which i could not figure that out called citizen bank talked to nata who kept saying i can not listen to you she probably meant i cant hear you any way afte calling 10 times i got 2 fees back instead of 6 no good at all.
some one was lying email or a person who told me shortly you will get all fees back it used to be a good bank not anymore i am so disappointed with this bank now
