Cleveland Clinic the idiot "security" punk at the ER in Avon, Ohio

That [censored] stopped me from walking down the hall and tried to lecture me about waiting at the door for the attendant to take my temperature. The Clinic no longer takes ANYONE's temp at any entrance at all any longer.

Next time that fat slob tries this again he will be speaking with my lawyer because I know he doesn't have the balls enough to throw down.

Desired outcome: fire him.

Cleveland Clinic Ultrasound

When I was pregnant with my first child I had to get an ultrasound at the Lakewood campus on 9/19/2018. The nurse Lauren Friscone, RDMS was very polite, respectful and asked if I would like to know the gender of my baby, I told her I did not want to know the gender and she said she will put the results in an envelope so I wouldn't know, the nurse who preformed the ultrasound left the room and I waited for the doctor to come in and give me my results. S Jules Moodley, MD was the doctor I had that day. He instantly gave me a bad feeling and I felt very uncomfortable the whole time, he started a 3D ultrasound I didn't ask for so I could have "extra pictures" of my baby when the nurse already preformed the ultrasound, he rested his arm on my vagina and my Childs father looked at him very angry because he saw what he did and he instantly moved his arm up instead on resting it on me. He then went to the computer and started going threw all the photos with me one by one and at the beginning he did ask if I wanted to know the gender and I told him no! He had me staring at the screen while he was going threw the slides and all of a sudden I see on the screen ITS A BOY! And he never told me to look away and he just kept going threw the slides like it was no big deal I just saw the picture! My heart dropped I instantly wanted to cry and run out the room. It meant a lot to me I really didn't want to know the gender. Now 2 years later I am reporting this because its still effecting me to this day. And you would not even believe what I went threw with my second Childs ultrasound with a different doctor from the Cleveland clinic! On 8/7/2020 I went to the Westlake campus for an Ultrasound for my second child. Performed By: Lisa Sloan, RDMS the nurse definitely judged me because I am a young mom and I was alone at the ultasound. She was not nice to me at all and I felt disrespected. She asked if I wanted to know the gender I said NO and she put it in an envelope. The next doctor came in the room Maeve Hopkins, M.D. and she sat down started talking to me and said "little man" I instantly was stunned this wasn't happening to me again! I looked at her shocked she said did you want to know what you having after she said little man I said NO! I left shortly after and started crying. I called to file a complaint in tears. I called my midwifes office they felt so bad for me and asked if I wanted to talk to Maeve Hopkins after she did that I said I do not want to talk to her give me her Manager! Then 5 minutes go by and who starts talking to me Maeve Hopkins! after I said I didn't want to talk to her again. She then explained how she refers to the fetus as "little man" and she doesn't know what I'm having but that is all a lie to cover her [censored]! I want these 2 ultrasound doctors reported before this keeps happening to us!

Cleveland Clinic Urology Dept., Weston and Coral Springs

I have tried hard to book appointments with the Cleveland Clinic Weston's Urology Department.

The customer service is substandard and they have a robot calling only once for reminders. They want to rely on the MyChart tool for appointments which is not a suitable option for senior citizens.

Conversely, the Miami Cancer Institute has live personnel calling patients for reminders regularly. Evidently no one at the Cleveland Clinic is taking benchmarking seriously.

They are not taking customer service seriously either because attendants and coordinators are rude and do not return phone calls. They seem to treat people like cattle.

Their COVID-19 protocols are deficient: N-95 masks and UV A/C fixtures are not mandatory.

I have bitterly complained to the ombudsman office repeatedly and can not even get yet an appointment rescheduled.

Evidently fundamental management issues are evident at large, so I am not surprised by the low ranking obtained by the Cleveland Clinic at your website.

Stay away and try the Miami Cancer Institute or UM's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center instead if you can.

Desired outcome: Management Action and written apology.

Cleveland Clinic Medical services, or lack. Detrimental testing leaving me worse off, no response from docs

I contacted the clinic and had a virtual apt with suggestion for a colonoscopy which was accomplished, My PCP and another GI doc told me I do not need this test and could be detrimental but it was done. That was Dr. Burke, saw Dr. Liska on that day and he was thorough in questions and exam, as was Dr. Burke. It felt like they were working as a team and there would be help. I then had orders for an upper GI. My PCP said that was going to be a mistake as that wasn't where the problem could be, also an opinion supported by my kidney doctor. I had the upper GI and have very negative effects from that test but neither Dr. Burke or Dr. Liska, after my attempting to contact them several times would respond to me. I tried to get an apt, but that is 5 months away, no effort to speak to me sooner. NO contact for all these weeks and am left with the impression that they must have thought they messed up, have no treatment plan or remote idea is going on and are unwilling to find out. Or the alternative is they are dismissive and don't care. What a shock at this point to have gone through all this procedure and time for hoping to have a treatment plan only to have a silence. I even asked if a referral to someone or place would be helpful and where would they suggest. I can send any message I want, the response is the same, ignored and silent. I can't even imagine this lack of professionalism. If I did this to my patients I would expect to be fired, reported or chastised by my licensing agency

Desired outcome: Referral to completent medical care preferrably to another facility even if out of the country

The only thing they pay any attention to are the reviews, if you do them, that are sent to you to complete approximately 1 week after you have an office visit. Thats the way big corporations practice their” customer service” now. If you don’t complete them within a week or so after they are sent, you won’t be able to. The problem I have run into is that they stop sending them to you if you have stated a serious concern.

Cleveland Clinic Appointments change and cancel

Looking for a family Dr in Cleveland Clinic since January 2021 I called for three different Doctors and every time the answer was : this Dr is not taking new patients until I call again the desk appointment and ask to please refer me to a family dr that can take me since I don't have one yet, this person referred to me to Dr Dalia McCoy and made an appointment 5 weeks after my call. The day of the appointment I went 40 minutes earlier the person at the desk told me that dr Mccoy was an hour late that if I want to come back 10 minutes before my appointment wish I did I left and came back 10 minutes before. My surprise at the desk they said that dr Mccoy called me already and I lost my appointment. I made another appointment 4 weeks after and the day of that appointment I received a call from Cleveland Clinic telling me that my appointment is cancel because dr Mccoy is not at the clinic that day I explained to this person that it's really a long time that I'm waiting for this Dr I mentioned that it will be my first time and I really need to see a dr because I have medical issues, she said I'm sorry I give you the firs available is 3 weeks, I prepared today 4/21/2021 my appointment was at 2;40 I was there 40 minutes early and make sure this time I won't move until I get call. My time came I went with the nurse she ask me the reason I was there I explain my first time looking forward to meet and being check by dr Mccoy. Well she said dr Mccoy is not taking new patients she can order Laboratory and you can go and find another dr. I was confused, upset, because I came prepared for this appointment write down all the thing the dr needs to know about me and hopping she can help me, I was so frustrated that I told the nurse at this point what for I'm seeing a dr that I can't follow up or ask for any results since she can't see me anymore.
Also my appointment on 4/19/2021 with dr Asad ur Raham was cancel on the day that I have to see him they give me an appointment until 6/1/2021.
At this point I'm very disappointed and frustrated with Cleveland Clinic I never expirence something like this on the years I started going there 2008.
I'll appreciate if someone call me back and explain to me why was treated this way,

Desired outcome: I appreciate a call back

My husband had very similar experiences with the clinic. I have moved on to University Hospital and so far I are pleased with the staff there, my primary care physician and have not had to wait for appointments or scheduled tests. So far so good.

In the last few years I’ve had many of my appointments cancelled by CCF and it’s been many weeks to months to get them rescheduled. I’ve never had this problem in the past. I’m not sure what the problem is. Also, when I do have an appointment it’s like a race to get me out. Are they over booking the doctors?

Yup, the clinic policy allows 13 or 14 minutes per patient and that's not enough time to get comfortable speaking to the doctor about the issue, let alone describe the symptoms, get an examination, diagnosis and develop a plan of action to deal with the issue. Pretty sad for the patient but also extremely frustrating for the medical practitioner. Why would any physician want to work there? It's been obviously declining in care quality for years, I left when the doctor I loved retired after many years there. I can't imagine any improvement in any way unless major changes happen. It's a shame.

Cleveland Clinic Lab issues

The physician I work for gave a patient a stat lab order which she had done the next day at your solon location. On Friday, 04/08/21 I called to get these results as we still did not have the result of her serum HCG. The representative I spoke to in Solon told me the patient hadn't been seen there in years and had no results on the patient. On Monday, 04/12/21 my physician had me call the main campus lab. They told me she did in fact have the test on 04/02/21, and that she was pregnant. Pt is on a medication that cannot be taken while pregnant, so it was paramount that we get these results ASAP. I was told she was pregnant and transferred somewhere else where i held for 15 minutes. I hung up and called back and explained that i needed these results ASAP. I was told by the assistant on the phone that i needed to contact the ordering doctor. I told her several times I represented the ordering Dr and that if she could not help me I needed a supervisor immediately. She explained the doctor could tell me the results and I told her again, that I represented the ordering doctor and that we are not part of Clevealnd clinic and could not look up the results. The representative put me on hold for another 17 minutes before she transferred me to Adasha who finally sent me over the results. It is very disappointing.

Desired outcome: Stat orders should be treated as stat

Cleveland Clinic Allergy Department

I received my Moderna Vaccine on 03/27/21
I had a mild allergic reaction
I made an appt. with Dr. Stephenson regarding the reaction
Appt. 03/02/21She referred me to Allergy
03/08/21 saw Dr. Dimov in Allergy
He advised to have a PEG Test
His scheduling nurse advised I would have to go on a wait list.
I advised my 2nd vaccine is scheduled for 03/27/21
She then asked me to schedule the test in Coral Springs.
I was scheduled 03/16/21 at 8:30
They called me 03/15/21 cancelled and rescheduled for 03/25/21
They called 03/24/21 cancelled and advised they DO NOT DO THE TEST IN CORAL SPRINGS!
Why? then schedule it twice!
I told her I have the shot 03/27/21
She said.. she would put me thru to central scheduling.
Of course they were closed.. it was now 5pm
I called the Allergy Dept in Weston 03/25/21
After explaining everything.. they said they could get the test done 03/26/21 at 7:30 am with a follow up visit immediately after with Dr. Dimov
I arrived at 7:30 am 03/26/21
Was told.. they have a little problem
The nurse doesn't get in unitl 8
They took me back at 8:15 to do the test
The last level they could see there was a reaction
They asked Dr. Dimov for consult
He popped in.. said.. Yes..yes..yes.. and immediately left
yes? to what?
The nurse looked at the grid on my arm and told me PEG and Poly Sorbate
I said.. what now?
His reply.. I don't know!
They also advised the doctor is too busy to see you
So? they let me walk out!
I had to call Dr. Stephenson to tell her what they did to me.. and she advised she would message him
THIS IS TOTAL! TOTAL INCOMPTENENCE
I CAN NOT BELIEVE YOU PUT PEOPLE'S LIVES AT RISK DURING A PANDEMIC
I have no clue to take the 2nd shot.. or not.. do I need an Epi?
NO ONE.. NOT A SOUL HAD THE ANSWER

I had an appointment today at Cleveland Clinic Beachwood. At the door, patients are stopped and asked if they are symptomatic. No thermometer on the forehead was used to detect fever at all. They asked if I had a recent COVID test. I said no and they told me I needed one. Without symptoms or exposure at all? Since when did CCF make this mandatory?

Cleveland Clinic Emergency Room Visit

I was in the ER for an anaphylaxis reaction. My throat was tightening, I had shortness of breath, heartburn and nausea. The new graduate nurse Tyler preforms my iv medication without properly priming the line. I look over at my iv and see a long stream of air with the iv fluid following behind then a couple more pockets of air and then the iv fluid. I had said to Tyler there was alot of air in my line and his response was, "Not enough to kill you." Let me take you back for a moment, at this point I am struggling to breathe due to an anaphylaxis reaction, I have already successfully preformed four semesters of clinical at the Cleveland Clinic including the proper administration of iv therapy which I have preformed on countless patients. I know the risk for air in the iv line can cause air embolisms in the body which can lead to cardiac arrest. I had mentioned all of this to Tyler and instead of shutting off my iv and properly priming my line he continued the iv putting all the air into my system. I felt unsafe and afraid during a time I was already experiencing a life or death crisis. I was afraid not just for myself but other patients this new nurse will be practicing on in the future.

Cleveland Clinic Billing

Billing:

I had a service performed on November 11 at Dr. Esterly's office in Stow Ohio. I am still trying to get an itemized statement after several calls to the billing department with no success. Your company has no problem taking my money on the date of service, but it is almost impossible to get an itemized statement that I can use to get reimbursement for money that I spent for the service. I am told that the billing department cannot help me on this because they do not create the itemized statement. There is a different department that does that. Also, they were unable to provide me with any contact information for that department. This has become a big reason why I would hesitate to use your services in the future unless I had no choice in order to protect my life or the life of my loved ones. No other organization that I have had services provided by has been this difficult to get an itemized statement from. I am always able to get the itemized statement at the time the service is provided. I would like a call from someone in customer relations to let me know that you are addressing this issue. My number is [protected].

Desired outcome: I want my itemized statement both emailed and snail mailed to me.

I spent months listening to various CC billing department people tell me that they had billed Medicare for my part A charges, but I knew they had not because I had never received anything from Medicare, and Medicare denied having received a bill. These are in-hospital charges, and we have Medicare Part A only because we still have employer-provided commercial health insurance provided through work.

Well I eventually found out that the reason I was being told that Medicare had been billed was that my CC balance was zero. That was because CC had billed me for the amount that would have been paid by Medicare if Medicare had been billed, and I had paid it. So much for being a timely bill payer.

After many prolonged discussions and BS about how they keep credit balances for several months to pay subsequent charges as they come up, I told them I would put this situation in the newspaper. No need to pay a lawyer, the Cleveland papers would have a field day with this probably illegal practice. I finally received a check for the remaining credit balance the next week. CC ended up eating the $2600 because they did not submit the bill to Medicare in time.

So beware. The billing statements seem to have improved since that episode, but be very careful to understand every aspect of them before paying a dime.

Cleveland Clinic Radiology Weston

Tried to schedule an MRI after an appointment with Dr William Gans. The scheduler in his office took my information and copied the card that had the specifics for my cardiac stents. I was told radiology at Weston would call me
.The request was made on Dec. 16. On Dec 18 I called radiology and they told me they had done nothing because I have stents and they needed the specifics on the stents. I suggested the specifics were in my chart. The scheduler found them and said she would have to check with Dr. Gans office but she would get back. She did not. On the morning of Dec. 21 I called the radiology department at Weston.I was given the supervisor who assured me he would call me back. By 3:00 pm he had not called me back. I called Dr. Gans office to tell their scheduler that the MRI she scheduled 5 days prior was still not scheduled. It was waiting for approval. She called the Weston Radiology Dept. I was connected with an MRI tech who said, "I will look at your chart right now". Less than 30 sec. later she said, "Ok you are approved". The systems for clearance are definitely faultyI. If an MRI tech can approve a patient it should not take 5 day (3 working days). If a tech can approve the procedure the weekend should not effect the approval process. If it can be approved in less than 30 sec.s some one is not doing their job if the patient has to wait 5 days. Jon Joseph 6/26/47.

Cleveland Clinic Rheumatology department & infectious disease

I have called multiple times to make an appointment with the Rheumatology Department and every time I have called and told them that I need an appointment because I have been running fevers since October of 2019 and as soon as they are told that the appointment is needed for fevers I am told that they have to contact the department and someone will call me back within 1 hour. I have waited a multitude of hours and have never been called back by the Rheumatology Department to schedule an appointment and because of that I now have 2 Immunologists trying to fix what they can until I can see a Rheumatologist but I don't know how to get ahold of one or how to have one finally get ahold of me. I have made this complaint known to a lot of my doctors and have still not been able to make contact. Next time I am at Main Campus I will just go to the Rheumatology department and schedule an appointment while I am there. I have been running fevers above 100.4 degrees for 13 months! I would like to have my life back and quit living off of Tylenol when I have an appointment at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.

I also need to know how to get a new Infectious Disease doctor. I have one now, but she has little interest in me or helping me and she failed to take any time to get to know me before making judgements upon me and I had an infectious disease doctor when I lived in IL prior to 2011 who helped me tremendously and yet, even with a referral to infectious disease, she fails to assist me with my medical problems. I tried to make an appointment with a new one but was told that I could not make an appointment with a new one without her permission or referral. If she is not working for me or with me as a doctor, why can't I change doctors? How do I change doctors? What the heck do I do?

How does Cleveland Clinic know who put these complaints down unless we put our name or record number? I want someone to contact me about both of these complaints! Hopefully this will help them - [protected]

Cleveland Clinic Neurology dept.

Complete lack of empathy. My my chart messages are not even read for 3 days. Took over a week to manage to send lab orders to my hospital. By the time they got it here I didn't need it any more. Couldn't even remember to have them signed. I understand that I am not their only patient, but I was begging at one point for them to tell me what to do and they wouldn't answer me. Just very disappointed with their lack of attention to detail. Sending the wrong orders, not having them signed, leaving the office for a few days without sending them first. Really made me feel like I did not matter at all. I feel like I should try to find a new dr. As I was not very important to them. You are more than welcome to read the my chart messages.

Cleveland Clinic Dr. treatment

My name is kirk Gardner I am a patient of dr. Leininger and dr. Hong. In the last week of July I received some beam therapy To relieve severe pain .I was told that it would work very quickly and that the pain pills that I was prescribed would be not needed anymore . I was very happy to hear this because I don't like being on them I've been on them before and understand the addictive nature of them. In fact had spoke to the doctor about not wanting to be involved with a pain clinic or management because of my distaste for these medicines. However when you are in this kind of pain you will surrender to what works. So I took the pills and they worked and said well as soon as the the pain subsides I would stop taking them .Which was supposed to be on the or about the first week of Aug. 2020. But that was not the case in fact my pain became worst by twice or three times with diarrhea that felt like battery acid coming out of me every 20 minutes or so with the most pain I have ever HAD..! radiating from my lower back . So I called Dr Hongs office first and told them that I am going to need more pain meds that the 21 pills were not going to fix this kind of pain and was told that sorry I needed to speak to Dr lieninger office about this matter and they would forward my message That I was in ungodly pain is what I said. So when I called Dr lieninger office they said that they received this message and that if I was in such ungodly pain that I should go find an emergency room somewhere. Meanwhile I cant leave my house because of the acid burning diarrhea .Later that night the pain became so great that I felt the only way to stop it would be to kill myself. I don't say that lightly or admit that lightly but I was crying to GOD to give me strength not to do so. And is the reason for this formal complaint at no time ever should a stage four cancer patient have to think of suicided as a treatment for there pain and if these doctors are that cruel and uncaring perhaps maybe they need to find a different kind of work. But I could not with a clear conscience let this go unchecked . All I needed was a week of medication and the pain would have been ok. No excuse for this!
