scam
I recently was checking my Credit Union Online Account, and found this company had taken $29.95 plus a separate charge of .30 fee off of my account, and I contacted my Credit Union about it, because I inew I had not charged anything or written any checks to this company, nor have I heard of it. That is why I am not able to give you their address, city, or anything else. The Credit Union told me to contact the company, but I can't find them, and am turning to you for help. I believe I have been scammed, and I need to find out what to do to get these illegeal charges off my checking account. Can you please help me? I am on Disability, and live on one check per month, and of course I am willing to pay my bills, but not when I did not buy anything.
Thank You,
Virginia Pompa

My bank has since shut down my accounts and is now investigating. Do not order Resume Maker professional because that is what I did and I paid over $90 for software that was only $29.95!

Dear Virginia,
We apologize for any stress this situation has factored into.
This charge was a renewal of an order placed last year for the Registry Booster 2009 from Uniblue Systems.
At the time of that order you were informed of the Active Protection component to your order:
"ActiveProtection is a software support service with benefits such as product updates and unlimited expert support, making sure your PC is protected against performance and stability threats. All Uniblue products include one year of ActiveProtection, starting from the date of purchase.
Unless you choose to opt out, every year your protection plan will be automatically renewed to guarantee ongoing protection."
You were then provided a link to cancel the automatic renewal.
Do not worry Virginia. Should you require any assistance regarding this matter you may contact Uniblue directly at:
www.uniblue.com/support/ticket
We hope that this explanation has clarified matters for you.
Please do not hesitate to contact us.

cleverbridge.net koeln false charging me
In checking, I detected a false charge from Cleverbridge.net Koeln, that I did not purchase anything from them. The charge was made on 11/18/09.

I want to cancel this and had the refund put back into my account. I can't afford this.
To be necessary in the Arab partner company piece the company can also benefit from the Arabs
Yes I too have been ROBBED by this clevebridge. Unbelievable, they took me for two payments one for 24.95 and another for 29.95. This is three or four months later after I bought their stupid TUNE UP UTILITIES SOFTWARE for 29.95 and it stopped working, messed up the rest of my computer worse than its ever been before making it where I didn't have a choice but to spill more money into their shady service which does nothing but ruin the consumer's world. I hope this message gets across to the rest of you who have been screwed so hard by these moth@$##$@'s who need to go out and get a real job and suck it up like the rest of us. Isn't it enough that the working class putz gets it put to him or her everyday by the so called "government"? Now we have to sit back and take it from completely useless pieces of [censor] like you. Give me my money back [censor]...Now! Or I am going to do nothing left with the rest of my time on this planet but spend every last waking moment in an effort to expose you for the typical [censor] internet scam that makes everybodies life miserable. Trust me, I know you will do something underhanded to mess my computer up even worse than you already have. But guess what, they make other computers and I WILL EXPOSE YOU FOR WHAT YOU ARE, an underhanded medicine show con-outfit. Please, Please, Please, I know you are smart, why not try using your intellectual efforts for actually doing something good. Would it really mess up your budget that bad? I bet you could actually make a pretty decent living by actually helping the people you charge these exorbitant fees to. Seriously, couldn't you just actually help people when you charge them roughly $30 the first time? NOOOOO you have to be a horrible semi satanic [censor] service who wants to milk the poor son-of-[censor] for every last penny you can. UNBELIEVABLE! Give ME my money back. I wouldn't even need your stupid [censor] service if you wouldn't sabatoge my system so you can gain more personal income. For what? your stupid above ground pool or KIA family wagon payments. Guess what, maybe I want something similar, but for some reason it seems that I enjoy being a gullible dumb-[censor] and falling for selfish scams put out there by people like you that would step on other peoples necks, people who haven't done a thing to you, just so you can do something stupid like have the right outfit to wear whilst you burn in hell.
Thanks alot and lick my mother[censor]ing balls you worthless piece of [censor].
Hope your Karma bust you in the chops,
Steve Brenner
P.S. I know no other person who has been anal raped by your service will ever see this message on this site because I know you RULE it in order to keep your scam going. But trust me WEASELS I WILL EXPOSE YOU! I PROMISE THIS A SERVICE THAT I OFFER YOU THAT IS SET IN WRITING PLAIN AS DAY WITH NO LOOPHOLES. YES CHANCE ARE YOU WILL RISE TO THE TOP AND CONTINUE TO SCAM OTHERS (YOU FLOATING PEANUT-CORN RIDDEN TURD) BUT I JUST HOPE AND PRAY THAT OTHER PEOPLE WHOM GIVE UP SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNTS OF PAPER TO [censored]BAGS LIKE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO READ THIS AND KNOW THERE NOT ALONE. IF NOT THIS IS NOT BIG SURPRISE. BUT HEY GUESS WHAT? I PERSONALLY AM SOOOO SICK OF STUPID INTERNET SCAMS AND ITS TIME TO ASSEMBLE, RISE UP, AND FORM A REAL COMMITTEE, NOT SOME DISGRUNTLED GOVERMENT SLACK JAW [censor], TO SHUT YOU BOTTOM FEEDERS DOWN. IN CONCLUSION, I THINK YOUR COMPANY IS PROBABLY FUNDED BY A BUNCH OF NEO-NAZI WEIRDOS. IF THIS IS TRUE I HAVE GIVEN ABOUT 50 COPIES OF THIS EMAIL TO PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT TO DO IF I MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEAR.

After careful research cleverbridge. Net processes charges and fee's for online downloadable software - but beware of any products you download from the web - the price you pay is not the only one you will ever be charged - remedy to this situation is change your bank account debit / credit card number"s with the bank - origin of who uses this processing company is uniblue system's tweaker - if you purchase this product - beware of following charges thereafter often using other names and number's that are unmaned phone lines.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I agree. Cleverbridge appears to be a company that's just there to take money but after the money has been paid they don't feel obligated to provide any product or service. Twice now, I've had to file a dispute because they can't even send something as simple as a confirmation email that contains my registration info. They use the excuse that it "went to spam" but I regularly check my spam when I'm expecting an order or an email and there is no email in either. Cleverbridge are a highly deceptive company and if you see a shopping cart that uses them, RUN!
Withdrew $39.95 from a federal Direct Expreess card, without authorization, and or misleading Information.
I was charged $21.67 on my credit card. Whats funny is I had a 0 balance and haven't used the card in over a year. I saw the charge that was placed for two days ago when I was home all day. In fact the card was in the safe for over 7 months. I know this was fraud!

Dear Frances,
Thank you for your post. cleverbridge is the payment processor for a variety of software manufacturers and digital media companies. Based on your comment, you are not sure who cleverbridge is or what their name is doing on your credit card statement. Since we are an e-commerce company and process payments, our name appears on credit card statements in place of the company from whom you purchased the product. This information is provided to you on the website that you purchased the product from, on the checkout page in the shopping cart, and on the receipt that is sent to your email upon completion of your purchase. Also, by doing a quick search on this forum or on Google for ‘cleverbridge’, you will see that other customers have had the same inquiry as you and have had all their questions answered.
Since we do not want to deliver personal information on a public forum, we kindly ask that you contact us directly so that we can provide you with further information regarding your order. We can discuss what the purchase was for, when it occurred, and other measures we can take such as a offering a refund. We have provided our contact information, which includes a phone number and email address below:

- Three e-mails with the subject line “Payment due for your ActiveProtection” are sent 30, 15, and 5 days before the charge, respectively, informing the user that ActiveProtection would be charged unless you canceled. Had these mails been returned to us as undeliverable, your subscription would have been canceled automatically.
Uniblue ActiveProtection gives you:
- the latest version updates downloaded directly to your PC
- unlimited online expert support
- the ability to install the software on three PCs
Without Uniblue ActiveProtection your Uniblue software will not be updated and will be unable to solve the very latest PC problems and system issues.
When you signed up for this subscription, you agreed to yearly charges for Uniblue ActiveProtection.
To avoid confusion, we work very hard to inform customers of the subscription to avoid customer confusion and dissatisfaction, as such:
- Uniblue ActiveProtection is described on the order form.
- A link to cancel ActiveProtection is very clearly shown on the final page of the order process and in the delivery e-mail sent to confirm your order.
I would suggest that uniblue not auto renew subscriptions to software. I have some of their software and like the others was not aware it would automaticly renew. They should send notification at least 30 days in advance and give people the option of renewing or not. Auto renewal with out notification is bad business. I personally do not like it and will now cancel my subscription for that very reason. I do not give anyone authority to conduct transactions without my approval at time of transaction. PERIOD!
Dear Lee,
We noticed your comment about cleverbridge on the Complaints Board.
We wish to inform you that cleverbridge is an e-commerce partner for over 200 software manufacturers, for whom we process payments.
It appears that an order was placed on 12/13/08 for a product called DriverScanner from Uniblue.
This order included one year of Active Protection, which keeps your software updated and automatically renews your subscription every year unless the subscription is actively canceled.
Since the Active Protection was not canceled, your subscription was renewed on 12/13/09.
If you wish, you can request the cancellation of this subscription and a return of your funds by contacting Uniblue directly at:
www.uniblue.com/support/ticket
Thank you for your cooperation, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
