Coles Supermarket Northgate Glenorchy, Tas - Excessive price of Mobile Phone
Southern Tas went into snap lockdown 15/10/21 ~ went to Coles Northgate Tas to purchase a mobile phone for an elderly lady ~ store & lines of people overcrowding Coles & outside. Service counter staff assisted with mobile phone, bought one recommended by staff told it was on sale & paid $109.00 for Telstra Evoke Plus @ 15.45pm - lockdown started @ 18.00pm.
Identical mobile phone in Woolworths $59 ... $50 discount on Coles so called ‘sale' price ... $50 is a lot of money for a pensioner to lose, especially in pandemic times.
Coles Northgate Glenorchy Store & Coles Customer Care Complaints Line have had multiple responses that are pathetic/untrue & a useless waste of time - they have no interest in listening or a resolution, Northgate Coles Store Manager would not speak with me on the phone, a junior staff member had to parrot his negative words, whilst customer care staff could not understand the complaint at all & assumed it "was a change of mind" return - No it is a complaint about Coles excessive price of the product - the lady would keep the mobile - (possibly a $50 refund or $50 grocery voucher or would consider any other resolution Coles might have) - customer care made an assumption about a recharge voucher that was unclear and not understandable, confusing...
Coles not good enough - a fair go & fair prices in pandemics and always - treat your elderly customers with the respect & care they deserve. You can fix this kindly & very very easily.
Desired outcome: $50 difference refund with original docket
online delivery
Order number:[protected]
I had my order delivered at 5 pm on Monday 4th October. I ordered 28 items only 16 items delivered.
I called them 3 times and messaged them 3 times .
On the first call they were going to look into it and contact me. No call back.
I rang them again was told the driver has them on his truck and he will deliver them.
They then replied to my message saying the driver has the other items in his truck and he will deliver them when he is free next and it shouldn't be long.
At 20:53 I messaged them and asked if I was getting them today. They replied that the driver finished his run and requested me to call them to let them know if I wanted a re-delivery.
At 22:12 I called them again and told them I want the balance ASAP as I don't have food to eat. The earliest they could re-deliver was Wednesday 6th October.
I can understand they can make mistakes but I would think they should be able to rectify their mistakes much sooner than in two days time.

Rotten poultry products
Hi,
Last Saturday 4/9/2021 @ 2.30 pm, I have purchased fresh chicken breast fillets and whole chicken from Coles - Altona gate [you can check my e-receipt through flybuys number 6008 9462 1444 9616].
Once my wife opened the package there is strong nauseating and nauseating smell released every ware at home and the chicken meat inside was bluish.
This meaning the chicken have been rotten at Close store for a while and sold out to customers as a fresh meat without any concerns or care about their health and life.
My wife is currently pregnant and was unable on Saturday and Sunday to eat with vomiting any little things she has been eaten which could affect her heath.
Just now my wife get back from the Newport medical centre and doctor wrote some supplements to support her heath with advise to go to the Royal Women's Hospital in case she continues sick and vomit .
Doctor as well advise her to do the following action as quick as possible.
1) Send an official compliant to Victorian consumer affairs for quick investigation about the rotten meat at Coles supermarket to protect other customers and discarded the entre stock of remaining meat and chicken that can kill the eater [I prepare this compliant now].
2) Send an official compliant to Coles supermarket manger to investigate this case and punish the meat section staff how can easily destroy Coles supermarket reputation when killing one of customers by "Salmonella infection" as this type of bacteria growing in rotten meat and can leads to death [not only my wife but my wife and her baby as well in case it has been eaten][in your hand now].
3) Send an official complaint against Halal meat and chicken supplier "El-Amin's" as they could supply Coles supermarket by expired meat and chicken.
4) Write about the rotten chicken at Coles on facebook and twitter or other social media to protect other customers by avoids buying any poultry products from Coles during this period.
5) Apply for heavily penalties with compensation from Halal meat and chicken supplier "El-Amin's" due to what happened with my wife in the past 2 days and what can happens if she eats this rotten meat and eats to my kids.
Please provide me with entire details of Halal meat and chicken supplier "El-Amin's" to be able to complete my official compliant to Victorian consumer affairs and asking them for heavily penalties with compensation.
NB: at any time purchased any deteriorated/expired product from Coles like leaf salad, mixed vegetable soup, fresh fruits/vegetables, eggs, etc I never talk or report and always tolerate but forgive me at this time and after what happened to my wife and what can happens to my baby in case this chicken been eaten I am unable to extend my tolerant in this case.
Waiting the required details to complete my official compliant to Victorian consumer affairs ASAP.
Several images for rotten chicken are available [I have took some images for the chicken post discard into rubbish bin.
Thank for your support in advance.
Desired outcome: Heavily penalties with compensation
Unauthorized charge
Hello, My name is Michael Morris. I am an american that has just been made aware that a charge of $130.41 was made to you from my cash app debit card @333 am eastern time in USA. That card has been lost for some time and honestly i had forgotten because i do not use that card and thought it was simply misplaced since there had been not questionable activity. I am not familiar with your service nor do i have any idea how someone got access to my card. I have taken the necessary steps to prevent further fraud but this particular transaction is still pending and I am trying to rectify it. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance in this matter!
I too am a american that currently has three fraudulent charges on my cashapp card from coles online. First one @ 10:18 on 9/16 for $117.38. Second @ 10:19 on 9/16 for $115.88 . Third on 9/17 for $59.97. Theres been numerous attempts since as well. Ive never done business with this company, or even heard of them. Attempts to contact them are next to impossible as there call line is international (yet more financial loss) and the wait time incredible. The online complaint form will not except gmail accounts. So basically your money can be stole and safe haven is being supplied by coles online! Im trying to recover my funds. But so far ive gotten nowhere.

Ok, let's start with the "management team" Josie, ameed and Franco. Josie is unbelievably rude, will blatantly ignore you unless is ring self serve where she will watch you like a HAWK - asking for assistance is problematic due to her disgusting never clean acrylic nails, on two seperate occasions she's punctured food packaging and then been in utter disbelief that I no longer wanted said, touched product. Ameed, also rude, needs to understand that deodorant is NOT OPTIONAL, summer or winter and then there's Franco, Franco Franco Franco, you manage coles mate, not own harrods, put the tickets on the mark downs instead of yourself. Then we get to the shelf packers, does there need to be 8 in one end of one idle at once? No, the answer is no. The gluten free section in the freezer used to be fantastic, great options, it's now all "plant based" crap which *cough cough* all has gluten in it and seems to be the only section never empty at any given time, so if you can navigate the packers and find anything you want (at least two-three times a week there is NO bread, minimal meat and a veritable [censored]storm in nearly every isle, so you've negotiated that and you go to find a checkout only to realise that the snaking line is for self serve AS NO CHECKOUTS ARE OPEN (this has improved after contacting head office multiple times) watching elderly try to manage with staff rushing them or parents with full trolleys and toddlers trying to put a trolly load on the stupid scales, they malfunction if you remove anything, is horrendous-then take into account at least three are out of order on any given day, there will be 4-5 staff members in the self serve germ box (umm hello put two on checkouts already) and grumpy people making comments about customers taking tooooo looonng, also 90% can't read markdown codes so don't be thinking you scored a bargain because all you scored was extra one on one time with a staff member who's looked you up and down like you just hot wired a car for having the audacity to buy something on markdown, the horror! Now it's time to pay but whoaaa big surprise, the attached atms like to glitch like a tweaker at a festival that's popped one too many little round pills and hasn't slept for three days, again with the disdain from some stand-around-staffer, on exiting the store you'll encounter the plant section - which has thankfully been moved to the windows so, you know, sun but unfortunately no one I MEAN NOT ONE SINGLE STAFF MEMBER is aware that these are real plants that need water, so at least half the plants are dead, if they get marked down (once every 6 months) they're like super dead BUT if there's a heap of say Alexander palms (roughly 15+) marked down to $4 (because as I said, pretty damn dead) and they sell a handful they then MARK THE REST BACK UP, that's not a thing coles, you can't markdown them back up a dead plant, they occasionally get in these cool invisible plants - like a pot with soil for $25 bargain! And lastly the opening hours, more often than not the hours on line, posted on the window and when they decide to shut do not correlate, they will try to block entry anything up to 20 minutes before "closing time" ummm hello I see the other shoppers in there buddy and pointing at the sign that says 11pm at 10.42 pm just makes you look like said festival goer from before, best to wait till another shopper is leaving and duck and weave past them, it's pretty easy which is weird after the third or fourth time. Unfortunately this store is my local and convenient to walk to rather than drive so whilst I no longer do my actual food shop there (Woolworths has a killer gf section) I do stop in for milk, pet food and bread (which is stupid cause they're usually completely out)
Oh and lastly, arguing the markdown prices that are ticketed to the point of having to go and PHYSICALLY GET THE TICKET OFF THE SHELF, they'll continue to argue, usually calling in at least two more staffers, I know my consumer rights if it says $10 on the shelf, it's $10 NOT $21 ffs.
Desired outcome: Retrain your staff! Teach them manners and smiles are free and don’t kill
Coles online
I placed an Coles online order 1 week ago during COVID lockdown. Coles sends out emails advising that customers can amend their order up to the day before. What they dont bother to tell you, is that you will lose your delivery window if you try to amend your order. I tried to get a new delivery window but there were none available. I spent 1.5 hours on hold to get through to their 'customer care' team only to be told that my order was CXLD and there was nothing he could do about it. Who would use such an incompetent service, that clearly has NO CARE for customers! In lock down no less.
Covid-19 issue in Victoria
REALLY disapointing
Your customers appear to be doing all the right things for our victorian lockdown number 4
However your staff have forgotten how to wear their face masks correctly
2 stores in Mornington we found staff wearing musks under their chins or not covering their nose
WHY
Even recent adds are showing the members using masks correctly
But not in actuality in stores
Desired outcome: Some stores need strong advice on protocalls
Discrimination
Clare culligan has been contacting her line manager, store manager, regarding shifts. Started before christmas shifts given, new produce manager after christmas than no shifts.
Contacted both store manager and produce manager, she was told to due new online course which she did and made herself available. All the time.
Went into the store and spoke with store manager who said will look into it.
Nothing. We put in a contact with customer care who have asked her to call them. Spoke about changing from fresh produce if not enough work there into another area, nothing has happened.
This is such discrimination as there are other individuals that are getting shifts on the weekends and evenings and poor treatment by coles as she has just received a letter saying she has not made herself available and contacted the store regarding shifts, which we have multiple messages that she has.
Desired outcome: given shifts
Young new coles employees training
Good Afternoon
I'm writing as I am a regular shopper of Cole Mount Warren Park QLD 4207
I'm questioning the training of new employees as packing bags at the register OMG they throw everything in together! They barely greet you they pack cleaning stuff in with cheese, there is no care on peoples groceries. I am bringing this to your attention as it's continuing to be frustrating, I believe all the workers should be training correctly especially if their on registers as they are the face on entering shop an exiting shop, I hate self serve but I would rather go through their then have a new kid pack my shopping. I understand they are new a learning to don't put them on register until they know how to pack bags correctly.
Desired outcome: fix there training
Drover's choice rump steak
bought the rump steak from Coles in Devonport on the 27th of March 2021 and paid 18.04. The meat was of very poor quality, full of gristle and inedible. Large flaps of fat tucked under the steaks so that it wasn't visible through the packet. Much of the meat had to be discarded as was not fit to eat. We were extremely disappointed with the meat we purchased and are considering laying a complaint with consumer affairs.
Desired outcome: money back! and quality improved for future customers
I am complaining about sausages labelled and offered for sale at coles supermarkets australia as "cumberland sausages."
The Cumberland sausages on sale in Coles and Woolworths have nothing whatsoever to do with the traditional sausage rings of that name made in the modern county of Cumbria.
They taste nothing like a Cumberland sausage. That is as fundamental a complaint about a sausage as you can get. How do I know? Well, for a start, I lived for 52 years in Britain and was a regular visitor to the Lake District. Even the M6 motorway service station at Tebay offers something much more akin to a Cumberland sausage than Coles's and Woolies's miserable lumps of lard. UK motorway service stations have a running reputation for crap fare! Additionally, based on my knowledge, I make Cumberland-style sausages and Lincolnshire-style sausages for home consumption; it is one of my hobbies.
Send your marketing managers to the Lake District. A packet of Kendal Mint Cake might sweeten them up and make them more amenable to sourcing genuine recipes. While they're at it, have them delve into the legalities of using a product for commercial purposes, which has a protected geographical indicator. You will need to research the implications of PGI, but "Cumberland-Style" and Lincolnshire-Style" might be a way forward. Then you need to address the spice and herb admixture.
The attached photo is of my own latest offering. A traditional Cumberland sausage is produced in a ring - another element of authenticity lacking in yours and Woolies's offerings.
Desired outcome: Send your marketing managers to the Lake District to souurce GENUINE recipes. Have them check the legalities of Protected Geographical Indicators.
Service
I have been a loyal customer of Coles for over 50 years. In recent times, since the introduction of self service, the lack of face to face customer service has declined significantly. During these testing times with COVID, we shop early to avoid large amounts of customers. We shop around 7.30am and by the time we finish it is maybe 8.15am. There is no face...

Too many incidents to recall times and dates. Sick and tired of Bakery Department and the Seafood/Deli Department, and Front End Service.
I have tried time and time again with the Manager-Brendan to stress the point about W.H. S standards and hygiene overall (sometimes Seafood/Deli department looks gross and stinks from the seafood), as well as, customer service - he is somewhat nice but hopeless as it appears that the workers have more control of what happens in the workplace. About a week ago, I went in there first thing in the morning and I luckily saved myself - nearly had a bad fall because they forgot to place a big mat under the table and the guy (worker) was like whatever, oh well, until the other fellow told him to put it away. The Manager before was O.K, who moved on to BIG W. At least it was not as bad as now.
Some, not all workers are at times rude and dismissive with their poor attitudes/behaviors towards providing decent customer service and talk too much when they like someone or if it's their friend, etc. They at times don't take care with packing and are slow at times depends on who you get - attitude thing. It is by far the worst Cole's Supermarket. They only care to have the store clean when head Boss comes in to inspect - then everything is above board including having shelves filled up. It's worrying, as there are a lot of elderly people that shop there and with COVID - it does not make much of a difference for them to care. However, they (Coles) cover yourselves because they do comply with hand sanitizer and wipes for the trolley. And to sign in QR app. Yet, some workers are not showered (B. O and stinky cigarette smell) and clean and take care with keeping their bay clean - it is offensive.
Just today I had an incident with the so-called Supervisor - stinking attitude Samantha. All I asked if she could please open another register as there were a lot of people waiting. She was peed off and yet when I asked to speak to the Manager she quickly decided to open up and attend my mum with whom I was with. I spoke to the "Assistant Manager"- Hannah and she was dismissive (who cares attitude as well as trying to downplay with hearing about the problem) with what I was saying to her, as the Manager was attending a call apparently. People have the right to have a job, but companies have a duty to make sure of not only compliance but to keep high standards up and employ the right people.
After all, it is about caring for each other as well as making money and having jobs available to help with the economy. People have not much choice but to shop at supermarkets and I have to say it looks like some people not just myself are planning to shop at Woolies instead as they are not as bad.
Desired outcome: Perhaps review, make new assessments and change management for sure.
Disposable Face Masks (Inflated pricing since NSW Gov. orders compulsory)
Upon shopping at my local Coles this morning (The Entrance, NSW) I noticed pricing for a box of 50 disposable face masks had now increased from $30-00 (3 days ago) to $45-00 (06/01/2021)
Nice way for COLES to profit on a Government directive that makes face masks mandatory in most buildings.
The Entrance is a heavily populated area of elderly residents that struggle enough to cope as it is, without having necessities such as face masks ridiculously inflated .
Corporate greed at its best.
Reusable plastic bags
Since banning plastic bags on delivery it was optional to receive the bags, so I opted out as we had so many bags. Since the pandemic coles have made bagging groceries mandatory and charging 15c perpag. We are now overwhelmed with plastic bags that we cannot use fast enough and it's becoming a health hazard trying to store them everywhere. Can we return...

Order number [protected] placed Sept 20 several items were missing. We contacted you and refund arranged, only part was paid, contacted you again advised on or about 21/9/20 refund was being processed, still never refunded on the 3rd Oct was again advised it would be refunded. Again on the 14/10/20 was advised case would be "escalated" it is now the 23/10 and it still has not hit my account.
How do you stay in business with this very poor customer service.
Meat
Visited the Coles Hornsby store this morning which is a reasonably large store. I wanted to buy three pieces of scoth fillet for myself and my two boys to have a BBQ tonight. Pre packaged as two pieces so I asked if there was a butcher on hand. The staff member pointed me to the butcher. I approached him and asked him if he would cut me one slice. He said no and that I should select the pre packaged. Instead I went to the Woolworths in the same complex that was more than happy to provide me with what I wanted. Why bother having a butcher employed if he will not do his job. Might as well truck pre packaged in every day but then you will miss premium cuts and will have to match the Aldi price.
Refund not received
Hi where is my refund for my order number #[protected] if this was woolworths I would have had an instant email telling me I had been refunded and the money would have been in my account instantly.
I sent you an email on friday and still no reply I called on saturday and was called back 5 hours later and of course a non australian answered and I could not understand a word she was saying her indian accent was ridiculous. I called yesterday and was told 15 minutes and requested a call back as they said I could and the call ever came.
Woolworths is doing ok during coven they have been on the ball and prompt and you lot seem to be either understaffed or just giving poor service.
Woolworths doesn't take 5 hours to answer their phones.
I need my money now we are in lockdown and I cannot afford to wait 10 days for a refund.
I will never ever ever use your service ever again and will be warning everyone I know about this poor standard
Coffee capsule
The wentworth point store manager (Daniel) refused to return an invalid size of coffee capsule. I brought a coffee capture which is too large to my machine, they refused to refund or exchange even I haven't used it. I am so disappointed. Will never go back there again. I think they can write off the item. what makes them so difficult to do it. it is only 5.5 dollars

Hi
I would like to know when your staff will be able to do their job again and provide the service of packing our bags. There was only two registers open when I went shopping last night and while your staff stood around looking at the ceiling I was packing my own bags with customers waiting. There is no COVID in South Australia. They have already touched all my groceries so not sure what the difference is them putting it into a bag instead of the counter. Is this a sneaky way of bringing this in or will you do the right thing and bring back the service of staff packing the bags?
