customer service
Today I visited the Baldivis Coles store .Previously, although the store states it opens at 8, the bakery is not stocked with a selection of items and there has been a delay with hot chickens not being ready.I always take into consideration staff sickness and the fact there maybe other issues effecting staffs ability to complete expected workload.I have shopped here ever since it opened and, to be fair, I may well not have complained today but for two reasons.
The staff member behind the deli initially ignored me than proceeded to state there would be half an hour delay for chickens with no explanation and very little customer service. This, I felt, was unacceptable and believed by speaking to the manager I could discuss the facts as this had happened previously. Working in a profession where customer service is fundamental I understand that evidence is required regarding staff shortages etc to facilitate management to subsequently implement changes to enhance existing practices.
I spoke to the manager who was totally dismissive, talked over me throughout and when I voiced my concerns she admitted they had a delay with cooking the chickens but stated this was an isolated incident and I was clearly wrong in suggesting this had happened previously .She then walked off which left me in no doubt as to how she intended to manage the feedback with the attitude she had demonstrated. It was done in an environment where staff and customers could over hear, which as am sure you are fully aware, is not how you manage a complaint .She ignored key management strategies of this type of situation the main attribute being listening without continually interrupting and responding in a professional manner
If the store is not ready at 8am perhaps a suggestion maybe for staff to offer clear explanations, communicated appropriately, as to why . The majority of customers are happy with this .To have senior staff demonstrate a lack of communication skills and knowledge on how to manage this type of situation identifies the need to staff development in this area !
I would like to add that the majority of staff have always been polite and helpful .It is just a real shame that the actions of a junior member of staff and a staff member in a managerial role acted as they did today !
false advertising! maltese 2 for $6
Advertised 2 August 2017 as 155g yet where 140grams. Was at Aldi & going to buy them their for a client. Had no time to go back to Aldi.
False advertising & spoke to them at Coles & told them they where for an elderly client & didn't say or do anything.
I showed photo of add & brought home phamlet to client who is bed ridden to prove I tried my best to get what she wanted. Why, she hasn't any money & you ripped her off! All you had to do was say 140gm & we wouldn't have got them. :(
ar gold+ infant formula from birth to 12 months 900g
I have been buying this product from Coles since my daughter was born (17 weeks ago). It is the only formula she can use as any other upsets her tummy and makes her really sick. We love the product and can't complain about it but It has recently come to my attention that your online and in store prices are different.
I bought it up to the store superviser and she charged me the lowest price which was $21.99 but when I went to buy another tin, I realised it was STILL the same and hasn't been fixed. I personally feel I have been ripped off and should be rectafied asap
service
We just moved to pakenham my son and his friend where in this coles store this Friday the 4th his friend has a service dog who was with him one off the lady workers come up to him to say the dog wasn't aloud his only a little Pom as he has been in this coles many times he did explain the dog is a service dog goes everywhere with him she did allow it
As they where doing shopping the manager took it on him self to hassle them saying that regular customers are complaining and my son walked away from the situation so the manager Rob decided to follow him and bully him my son told him not to talk to him and leave him alone as my son was at self service scanning shopping this guy was standing over him going on about dog can't be in store blah blah my son twice told him leave him alone stop standing over him then lost his cool did end up throw basket on ground so this tuff guy manager did band him for life his lucky I'm stuck a hour away with out a car but if something isn't done about this bully power tripping manger rob I will be taking it further it's harassment not happy 😡
fresh chicken from the deli section of coles
Tuesday 1st August I bought fresh Chicken from the deli section of Coles Balaclava - I specifically asked the counter assistant [with attitude] because I was questioning the freshness of the chicken. Looking at it I wasn't too sure - she assured me it was fresh - When I took the chicken out to cook it later that day you could smell it was definetly off - I'm disgusted by the attitude, she would have, know the Chicken wasn't fresh!

golden circle fruit juice
Bought 6 pack of fruit juice for my 1 year old daughter from Coles yesterday... don't normally check date noticed when opening to give to my daughter that they're out of date! I'm furious this could've made my little one unwell! Now I have to find a way of returning them with a bad back! delicatessen figtree shopping -
Hi Good morning,
Coles is my grocery shop for food and others.
Yesterday I went shopping at Coles figtree NSW .
At Deli i took my number and waited for a while with my grand daughter on the trolly. It took a little bit longer but i waited patiently while the lady was serving the other customer.
She was serving #86 . My #87 so while she's still serving for little bit longer hanging on to my #87 & keeping an eye for my # I noticed to pick up a pack of KIwi fruit, then I heard the lady that was serving turn to the man just arrived standing further away from my trolly and assured she'll be comingto serve him first.) I quickly told her i was her first and have my #87.
(Infact the # of the man was #90 because I personally gave it to him trying to help him. .
I explained to the lady I was here first & I showed her the number but then she told me we dont honour your number because you wont there when she looked to our side.
NOte: ( She doesnt have eyes on the back of her head while I was standing there first with my trolly for quite a long time. I didnt moved my trolly with my grand daughter While ipicked up the kiwi fruit.)I told her Ive been here for a while.)
But She continue to dishonour my number and made me Im a liar infront of other customers that was there. It made me upset by her action of serving the #90 and completly ignored my explanation.
They made rule to get the number & then changed their mind that no number now! Wake up coles make your rules clear please. This happened twice it was ok before the person was apologetic and considered my number I was behind with someone.
So Im so sorry about it. For her making me Im the liar because she didnt she me but at the same time she doesnt have eyes on the back of her head so she should honor the number system that yo Coles provided.
I regret that i did told her off And then she has the audacity to tell me that I abused her!. I told her you abuse me by not taking my explanations and honoring my number and made me Im a liar and trouble maker.
Sorry this got to stop! Humiliating people in public.
I also got the picture of the lady if so required.
Thank you for attending and putting to an action!
loading dock noise 24/7.
Coburg North Village (Gaffney st, Sussex st Coburg Melbourne Victoria. My name is John and I'm making a formal complaint on behalf of myself and the near-by residents who residential properties are in very close proximity on Sussex street opposite Merion street (No through rd, Rear of Coles /Loading Dock/Staff Car Park). We as residence /Local Customers of your fairly new convenient store have been enduring the echoes 24/7 from your loading dock situated in Marion st (No through ). From trolleys un loading truck's, Truck's reversing, Especially your delivery and removal of the large metal waste containers in the scrapping and the banging the echoes back onto Sussex street. Now we as fed-up residents that have had enough of your noise pollution that go's on 24/7 . We (the sleepless residents) are fed-up with your lack of concern in delivery times that carry large amount of echoing noise that billows back on to Sussex st & into our place of residence. We are letting you know that if this high priority concerns of ours are not resolved soon we have no choice but to start filming, to post on line & we will also be contacting 3aw & A Current Affair. Build a noise wall in between your staff car park and the Loading Dock this will reduce most of the noise that we encounter day n nite. A.S.A.P. Kind Regards, John Conadis and Residence of Sussex st. High priority in that you should take into account.
coles cornflakes product dissatisfactory
Dear Coles
I have been buying your Coles branded Cornflakes cereal (475g) for a few years now. The product details are as follows:
Orange color box packaging
Coles Cornflakes
475g
$1.80 per box
serial number: 9 [protected]
Date of purchase: many dates but the most recent is 31/07/2017
The past two boxes bought and consumed are less than satisfactory. The product has changed completely and I am not happy with the current product . The reasons as follows:
1. taste different, less satisfying and not cooked the same way I believe. The roasting flavour has disappeared
2. The product taste bad in that the ingredient seem different
3. The plastic package is not as nice as before, the product does not stay fresh for long
4. The product is smaller for the same price paid for.
I am dissatisfied with this new product and wish for Coles to bring back the same product as it was a few months ago
I would consider appropriate if Coles sends a voucher to compensate me for 8 boxes of the same product so I can get reimbursement for the same goods purchased. I would be open to trying other Coles cereals.
Thank you.
I completely agreed with this complaint! We have been buying the same Coles Corn Flakes for many years & always loved them. Two weeks ago, we noticed the changed box size (also noticed the price dropped 10c to compensate). But the product inside is completely different to what it used to be. My husband loves his Corn Flakes every morning & says he looks forward to his breakfast. Since opening the new Corn Flakes he has been eating less because he just doesn't like them. He is very disappointed.
Please bring back the previous Coles Corn Flakes!
coles liquor department
On Friday, 28/7 at 7pm, My 17 year old daughter and I did a small shopping at Coles Mitchell Centre Darwin. She was holding our shopping bags and following me around the liquor department. I purchased 3 bottles of wine for myself. I could only carry 2 bottles chilled bottles because I was carrying my wallet, purse and bread purchase from Brumbys next door. I asked my daughter to help me carry 1 bottle to the counter, there was no basket available. When we got to the counter my daughter dropped the bottle she was carrying for me and walked off outside and I placed the two, whilst pulling out my credit card, your cashier asked me for my 25yr ID and also for my daughter. I told her the drinks were mine with no basket available she helped me. She insisted I produce a 25yr ID of my daughter, I walked out purchasing my wine...and PISSED OFF. Considering age limit for drinking in Australia is 18 I don't know why Coles insists on a 25yr ID, secondly if she couldn't help me carry a bottle to the counter she shouldn't be allowed in a liquor store, where was security stopping this. So if I bring my 10yr old to Coles to help we as above would there need an ID also. Your policy on this should be advertised clear for customer to see or security at the door. I WILL NOT be purchasing any liquor from your store again. This was so embarrassing for me since the store was busy.
tripping hazard
I was shopping at Coles supermarket at castle plaza SA 29/7/17 and slipped on green beans in the fruit and veg department. Customers came to my aid and alerted staff who were also came to my aid. The store manager was fantastic offering water ice packs and also followed up with a phone call the following day to check I was ok. My wrist is bruised and swollen and my arm and lower back are stiff and sore from being upright one minute then on my bum the next. I understand that customers drop stuff and really don't care what they do but there was quite a few beans on the floor and maybe someone should have done a walk through or floor sweep every so often. I am 61yr old and would hate to think what would have happened to an 81yr old
fruit
Hi there
Each Friday I take a client to help with her shopping she loves Coles Caloundra .
But
for the last 3 weeks I have had to ask for lady finger bananas, first time I sang out to some one behind the plastic doors, next time I got to the very nice girls on the deli counter they rang through to have some come out, I kept doubling back to see if they were out after quite a while I asked a nice guy filling the milk fridge, He went and checked and said they were coming straight out thanks to him, the next week I had to ask him again .For the same, I made a joke I hope we wont meet up next week .
I wear a uniform so yes you guessed it a lady came to me looking for lady finger bananas I sent her to the Deli for help . there was a female filling there but say no more .
customer service.
I shop at Coles Haynes (Armadale) and I have been shopping since the store was opened. I really love customer service there. I was shocked that one of the staff members was told she talks to much to customers. I personally think it's what you call customer service. It would be different if she was still talking to customers while serving other customers but...

Teach your staff how to pick orders, I used to organise staff to pack poster banners for Coles Australia wide with 0 mistakes! about 730 stores approximately delivered on time and one Coles store in Mowbray Tasmania can not implement a system like I did to pack the correct items and have them delivered correctly, must I speak to head management? sort this pathetic mess out it is daily recurrence!
a coles caesar salad
I purchased a salad from Coles on the 20th of July 2017 to eat for dinner and when I opened the salad to eat it the lettuce leafs were very brown and had a funny smell to them. I checked the use by date and the product was ment to go out of date on the 23rd, so the salad had another 3 days of usage. I am very disappointed and disgusted in Coles as this is not okay to serve this to paying customers. I am also disappointed in the customer service as the salads should be checked daily to reduce the risk of selling off food, and the checkout person should have also checked the product to make sure that it is not brown and still able to be eaten.
oil spill from coles delivery truck on private property
Please refer the last 3 emails sent to your 'Fleetclaims' team, as requested, and with no response or action after 3 weeks.
Please can somebody at Coles 'pull finger' and get this fixed immediately. It is disgusting that a supposed 'good corporate citizen, such as Coles can treat both loyal customers and the GCC Council i such a neglectful and disrespectful manner.
Please read on for the 3 emails we have submitted this month.
Dear Kim/Staff at Fleet Claims,
As we have had no further response from you to my last 2 emails we will be taking the following action this week.
1. Referring the matter to a higher management level at Coles.
2. Arranging for the local media to call and view first-hand what a poor corporate citizen Coles is.
3. Moving our supermarket business to your competition.
4. Letting it hit social media.
Over to you.

Dear Kim,
I trust your week is going well.
Thank you for a progress report on the oil spill damage at our home. We are anxious to have this resolved and cleaned up asap. We have a number of friends coming for a weekend retreat at our acreage property in 10 days time and it will be very disappointing if we still have this oil spill to contend with.
We trust Coles can either send cleaners to remedy the problem or to make compensation payment, as requested, in order we can arrange for this to be done ourselves.
Hope to hear from you within 24 hours please.
Thank you, James Irving.

Order number & On-Line Store:
a64740532 – Nerang Coles store, Gold Coast.
Date/Time of Occurrence:
Thu 06 July 2017 at approx 1545 hrs.
Location of Occurrence:
175 m of driveway and car port turning bay area at 8 Hugh Guinea Crt, Worongary, QLD 4213.
Description of Incident & Images:
As reported to us by the Coles driver, his truck started leaking oil as he entered our driveway from the street and this was not noticed until he turned and parked in our turning bay adjacent to our home and car port. There is a significant visual oil spill on our light-coloured pebbles comprising our turning bay and on the blue metal driveway as per images attached.
Value of Damage:
Difficult to assess however we put forward this proposal below. There has already been some inconvenience with our dogs not being able to use this area and also, visitors, clients (this is also our place of business), service tradesmen and ourselves needing to avoid the oil.
We are on an acreage property, and have a regular tradesman who does 1-2 days of work here per month @ AU$400 per day. It will take him at least 2 days to arrange for new decorative pebbles and to rake/dig up and dispose of the soiled pebbles and remove them to the tip plus cover over the oil on the 175 m driveway itself. The cost for new pebbles/delivery and more blue metal gravel to cover the oil damage on the 175m driveway will cost probably somewhere between A$250 – 300.00. So we would appreciate your compensation of A$1200.00 to cover labour, supplies and inconvenience.
We do need to get this clean-up job done asap and will arrange for it to be done this week. Thank you for your urgent assessment of our claim and we appreciate a speedy resolution.
Yours faithfully,
James & Nicola Irving
service from christina
I had an extremely unpleasant experience at Coles Warners Bay. I was walking down one of the aisles with my basket shopping for items on my list. The Warners Bay store isnt my local, so i was unsure of where all the products were. As i put something in my basket i looked up to a lady who worked at the store, she looked me up and down and then went to the loudspeaker to make an announcement that the store needed a security check. As i walked down the next aisle i heard the same lady shout out to another lady working there "(insert name of team member) security check". I kept doing my shopping only to feel a male team member staring me down. I approached him and asked him what was the name of the lady who made the announcement. He replied with Christina. Im assuming Christina has some power in the store.
Well Christina your customer serivce is disgusting. If you judged me for the clothes i was wearing as to looking like a criminal, you are disgusting. Yes i had sports apparel on, it doesnt mean im a criminal nor a thief.
So thank you Christina for opening my eyes to realise some people are truly petty.
I wont be shopping at this store again thanks to Christinas actions.
