checkout attendant "lisa" @ coles mt isa
10:00am 08/03/2017
Checkout #6
Absolutely disappointed in the goods care and behaviour of the checkout lady "Lisa".
Myself and the customer Before me, separately went through the check out with young children under the age of 2, I will admit that customers (including myself at this particular visit) that are trying to settle their young children during checkout time can certainly hold things up. the inpatient attendant demonstrated disappointing customer service and horrible Behaviour towards the struggling mother and myself - with a sour and disgusting look on her face she AGGRESSIVELY stacked the bagged goods on top of each other potentially damaging the products (that we pay good money for!). when It was time to pay for my shopping I confronted "Lisa" about her service and asked what her problem was, she persisted with her ugly personality and ignored my question.. after paying $306 for goods that Lisa had potentially damaged I suggested to her that if she isn't happy in her line of work - she may want to consider another career path..
I then noticed that Lisa was all of a sudden happy and extremely friendly to the next customer behind me as she handed me my receipt.
I went to the service desk to enquire about lodging a complaint with the manager regarding MY experience with Lisa at checkout 6 - but lo and behold there was no service manager on duty at the time, so I had to leave my details with a lovely lady who apologized on behalf of Coles for Lisa's behaviour.
***nobody contacted me regarding the complaint all day.
This is only my second disappointing experience with Coles Mt Isa, the staff are usually outstanding, but this visit was not up to their high standards.
customer service
The first complaint would be when I went into Coles on Australia day and bought 2 BBQ chickens that were on special but when I got home I found out on my receipt that I paid full price for them when I went in store I felt like a criminal they made me feel ### they called the deli to check what time the sign went up and made me wait about 15 minute while they checked my story out the second time was when I waited to buy baby cotton buds where they were cheap I found then at a good price at Coles so I bought them when I got home I found out they charged my twice for then the next time I went in the lady went to use my shopping bags for the next lady before me I had to tell her that they were my bags and that their was a divider between our items then I got home to find out I was charged full price for a item that was on sale some poppers
checkout service at coles belconnen westfield
I had opted to patiently wait along a regular assisted check out (rather than do the self-check out) with a full basket, but this lady from the service corner approached me and condescendingly said "in here, we use common sense and with a basket, we use the self check out", TWICE. I had a lot of things on my mind and this was a choice I made, so I don't understand why she had to come over and repeatedly tell me to use "common sense". Was it because I was Asian and I looked "lost"? (Debatable - as I said, I just had a lot on my mind.) I've been living in Australia since I was a kid - and this is the FIRST TIME I encountered such disrespect. I hate to think that there may have been racism involved. Besides, that was my choice and I don't think I was bothering anyone by that (there were no people waiting after me in the queue).
$100 credit on new mastercard
I received a new Coles MasterCard a while ago. Made my first purchase on 2nd February. Didn't get the $100. Rang (overseas) help line. Was assured I am eligible for the $100. It is now 6 weeks later and have still not received it. My email is [protected]@yahoo.com.au. I would appreciate a speedy reply. Thank you.

product selection
Coles I am so pissed off that our favourite products are disappearing and being replaced by Coles brand or a select few...where's the variety and choice? We are being treated like sheep and herded into buying Coles brands... I'll make my own choice of product thanks I don't need Coles dictating to me.
I've been a very loyal shopper at Coles for the past 25 years...these comments should be important to you because I'm off to your competitors who still treat me like an individual, they know variety and choice are important.
jalna yoghurt pot set vanilla
I purchased a couple of Jalna Yoghurts from the Spencer St store on the 5th March. I placed the yoghurt into the fridge. when I come in today for my shift I took out one of the Yoghurts to have after dinner. as I did this and placed it into a bowl and the yoghurt started to curd. I have had this yoghurt before and it has never done this. There was also an off smell to it so I placed it in the bin and opened the other one, but there was the same smell to the second one and it had curdled as well... the best before dates were the 27th March 2017.
This particular yoghurt is one of my favourites and never had a problem with it apart from this time... I'm not sure if they had been recalled but it definately wasn't what I paid for.
I await your reply
Thankyou

marketing concept
Coles marketing department have obviously adopted the concept of profit being their main objective in doing so they have lost sight of the most important factor in the marketing mix that being the CONSUMER. I spend what I believe is a substantial amount of money in Coles supermarkets ( shop of preference being Coles in Dog swamp Perth WA ) I have tolerated the fact that slowly but surely products that I have been using for many years are being erroded from the shelves in preference for cheaper generic brands which at most do not stand up to the quality expected. The stock levels are lower than they have ever been, when one goes into the store on a wednesday morning and you cant get a cooked chicken, hardly any eggs on the shelf, told at the meat counter that they don't stock racks of lamb anymore ( Coles Dianella ) can only get one type of mortadella numerous other products no longer on the shelves etc etc etc there is obviously no longer any consideration for the consumers needs. I am now seriously considering doing my shopping in one of your competitors stores i would like to add that i am most certainly not alone in my thinking. Whoever the marketing genius may be that has instituted this philosophy needs to have a real good look at the policy or you are going lose a substantial amount of consumers, me included who has been a very loyal consumer. "You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all the people all of the time" VERY DISGRUNTLED.
Noel I totally agree just about to write a very similar comment about our favourite products disappearing. We are being treated like sheep and herded into buying Coles brands only. I'll make my own choice of product thanks I don't need Coles dictating to me. I'm off to the competitor which still has variety.
fish
I bought some fish from the deli last night, it was stored in the refrigerator, and my mum cooked it the next day, when she told me something was not right with the smell and texture, she said it tastes off.
So why is Cole's selling fish that has gone off and what can they do to compensate I have the receipt and fish but should I go in with cooked fish ? I have attached a photo but doesn't really show the foods texture nor smell

hair / eyelash
I went to my local coles and brought a few things one of these items was Asian style gravy pork only to get home and find a strand of black hair or an eyelash in the packaging I have seen roches in the store . And I am thinking of speaking to fair trading and taking this to court and speaking with the health department . The staff at this store know me as I go in on a daily basis I do not wish to take employees jobs but it come down to it I will . I am mother of 4 kids this matter MUST be resolved I will be posting and informing my local community via social media about this . To avoid any closing of coles supermarkets I suggest we speak
not enough stock, presentation not impressive and it becomes a total job for the shopper to find things.
I am complaining on behalf of my 91year old mother. Of late she has found, since new packaging...items are in different places; not just once or twice but often. Mum would have bought 6 packets of Coles own Cappuccino this morning...But on finding the aisle and shelf she found only two packets . Simply, , this was one item ... but alas, you are losing custom. Also, she bakes her own fruit cake and each and every time she goes to find a packet of cherries it is like going on a treasure hunt that nearly ends up in tears. I notice along with mum this morning that all aisles are in exactly the same way . Very few aisles are stacked to capacity. I shopped with mum this morning and truly...I had flash backs of the first type of grocery store where everything was not available. I tell you, I myself went to Woolworths two weeks ago and was impressed with the freshness, in particularly their meat. If I have to front up to empty shelves; I will be saying goodbye Coles. A Coles store needs to look alive and colourful and full of complete and different items. Not empty shelves with same old same old and less. For weeks now I have noticed things like beetroot have been near impossible to buy off the shelf. I notice things like Shampoos, oils and sauces ect on 'special' have only a half dozen sitting on an shelf. 'Not empty because of the rush' either. I am writing this today because my old mum is sick of it.
campbellfield coles service
I bought bulla ice cream tubs from campbellfield store yesterday, later on I found out that bulla is not a halal product. I took it to return and campbellfield store worker judy refused to return saying I didn't had a receipt. I used self service machine to pay and offered to show bank transaction and she wouldn't still accept it. I buy around $300-$600 worth of product from coles every week and Am i supposed to keep receipt for everything? Am I supposed to expect this kind of behavior. I chucked both tubs into coles infront of judy. I need my refund for the product or me and all my family and friends would boycott shopping from coles or any coles product. This is simply not acceptable
non service deli department
Hi, today 3rd March 2017 approximately at 12.50pm I went to the coles store at Kilkenny (Adelaide) deli department and noticed a staff member unpacking goods I waited to be served not saying anything at first thinking that she would attend to me a out 3minutes later still waiting I said excuse me and had no response I waited another minute or so and still she didn't attend to me, she was rude not customer friendly or customer focussed seems she didn't like her job by the way she presented herself I end up walking out.
I've been shopping at this store for many years and I'm dedicated to coles even though Woolworths is a few meters away but because I've noticed that the staff at this store especially the deli department is so rude that I don't want to shop there anymore, the staff needs to be re-trained on customer service and customer friendly, I've been in hospitality all my life I'm 53, and the main focus is customer experience and customer repeat business, I know the staff are only workers and don't own the business and maybe that's why they're so disconnected but it does not excuse for rudeness and unfriendly approach towards the people who custom your business and who pay for your wages.
Not meant to be rude just to inform you of what's happening in your store, bad news is good news at least you have the opportunity to make things better for us the customer and in turn you the business.
disposable multi-purpose white gloves
Have been buying this product for years but Coles have recently changed suppliers from Thailand (barcode [protected]) to Sri Lanka (barcode [protected]) and the new product is rubbish. The label states 'lightly powdered' and 'one size fits all' - neither are true. The new product is a much thinner and more easily ripped, smaller in size - won't fit a large man's hand, and because of the lack of powder I usually tear 3-4 gloves trying to get them on. The price is $2 cheaper but obviously far more expensive when you keep ripping them. You had a good product why #### with it to cut your costs.
pork chops
On Tuesday night i purchased a packet of pork loin chops for my husband and myself. Last night, when we were eatting them my husband let out a giant scream and spat his mouthful of food everywhere. He has cut the roof of his mouth on a piece of bone around 5mm big! After this we disposed of the meat immediatly and do not intend buying it again. We are not happy as we are both big coles supporters.

poor service at check out - yet again!
Today I along with many other customers were waiting approximately 20 minutes just to get served. Finally one extra checkout was put on. However, this is an ongoing experience and today will be the last time I go to Coles in Midland. The lady serving in my queue was chatting with a customer (and not double tasking), and when I said "come on please, I'm in a hurry" both the customer and the service person gave me an evil look. (I have a disabled son that I had to meet at a particular time, and he is very stressed and upset if I am not on time.)
The other customers were also annoyed at the long wait, as others had other places to go afterwards and were being compromised.
Note I have previously contacted the store manager and stated the concern of the long wait periods and was assured that this would be rectified.
As a customer who spends approximately $25, 000 per year on groceries, I will be "voting with my feet" and going elsewhere.
coles cola
Your cola has changed I had a bottle from last week tastle normal but this week it taste like sarsaparilla its undrinkable .last week you cost me 24 dollars with a green ham and frozen prawns that gave my fish worms and because I don't have the bar code or docket I loose out.get sick and tied of losing money at Coles .I know your fruit can be 9 months old .looks like I have to goto adlis.I should make a YouTube video to warn everybody.
poor quality produce
You must do something about the poor quality of produce in your NT stores. Namely Palmerston, Casuarina, Leanyer and Darwin CBD.
Without one exception, after taking groceries home, I always find poor quality produce in my shopping bags. A kg bag of grapes has previously unseen rotting grapes at the very bottom, a kg bag of royal gala apples has 5 apples that when cut open or bitten into, reveal rotting flesh. A 300g packet of virginian ham purchased at the deli when opened at home reveals a slimy coating! Not exactly fit for consumption by myself, my husband or our 3.5yr old little boy! I feel strongly that we are being supplied 'left overs", sub-standard quality produce because...that is not known. Perhaps you think we are not worthy up here of quality? We are less than because we live in the NT? We often can't afford the drive back into town with our apples, ham or grapes to get refunded and go without? You need to do something about this part of the country or you will find a mass exodus to our local IGA stores. I was also extremely peeved that after spending $150 at your store, I realised I needed another $30 to reach for my weeky spending goal to receive the bounds pouts after 5 weeks, only to be told that I could not walk back into the store and simply add to my shopping for the day to reach $180. They said they would be unable to allow it. Nonesense. They just couldn't be bothered!
staff complaint.
Today I went to grab some products from Junction, Coles NSW. I considered going to self serve, but decided I would line up in 12 items or less counter. There was a gentleman in front of me who was waiting patiently to be served when the checkout lady "Vanessa" decided that she would serve a customer that had arrived after both the man and I. Obviously this lady thought that serving cigarettes was a higher importance than us, as it was an easy sale. The man and I had a quick conversation of how that's not the correct customer service that should displayed. After the man had finally been served, he turned to me to say "good luck" as another women had lined up to get cigarettes too. Thinking now that Vanessa would go serve that lady on the other side, before me. she caught on with the mistake she had just made by the comment the man said to me. Thinking she would greet me, she nastly said "what's that mans problem".
I replied with "I think he was angry that you served the other lady first as he was waiting to be served before the lady had even come".
She then proceeded to say in an abrupt voice "HE WAS NOT".
I knew she was lying and not in the place to be corrected so I said nothing.
My experience at the junction was very disappointing, it was sad that staff can be so rude and nasty. She was wrong on many levels and I do not feel it's fair for anyone to be treated the same. Action should be taken against this woman. It's disappointing that she is portraying a great store in such a negative way and that smokers are clearly more important.

bakery
Yesterday I purchased a loaf of Coles bakery toast bread at your Eden rise centre. As we were buttering the bread we found a bug in bedded in the loaf. Obviously this bug had crawled into the dough and was baked. I returned back to the Eden rise Coles and showed the young customer service boy who looked at it and had a bit of a laugh and told me just to grab another loaf of bread. I understand this employee was young and I didn't want to make a fuss as the store was busy but I did half expect an apology and that someone of authority would have come over and had a look at it as it has breached the consumer food safety act.
