The application was so easy to fill out
The application was so easy to fill out. We were approved very quickly. College Avenue has really made this whole process less stressful for our family. Thank you!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
My son submitted his application with his father as a co-signer. His application was denied because his credit report was red-flagged. After some investigation, it turned out that his red flagged student loans was reported in error. My son's student loan company's credit specialist wrote a letter to all three credit bureaus including College Ave. to correct their reporting error. After uploading the letter to his web portal with College Ave., no one knew anything. We made many calls to try to pinpoint where the letter went and who is reviewing Ty's application. All the representatives we spoke with said, "Your son's application is under review." After 2-3 weeks, my husband called for the 101th time and was told that Ty has to reapply because the credit pull was made more than 30 days ago. We were livid! We experienced nothing but shoddy services from College Ave. We will never use them again. Do not use College Ave. for your student loans. I can't imagine what our experience would be like should my son decide to refinance. Shoddy services.
The initial rate range given to us was quite a gap... 3.74-11.79. We understood there'd be a solid chance we would not be offered 3.74. However, we never suspected the offer would be at the top of the gap because we have exceptional credit. I reached out to College Ave, requesting a phone conversation, in an effort to find out why and/or see about what was needed from us to bring the rate down... or to hear from them their requirements for a loan under the 10% they assigned to us. The customer service rep replied to my inquiry that they would cancel our application. I messaged back once more asking for clarification and was told our cancellation letter would arrive in 10 days. I am leaving a poor review as I had done a great deal of research and much of the online coverage (paid reviews on sites) rank College Ave very highly. I feel we were mislead these other reviews and by College Avenue. We gave them our private information based on positive reviews and their own advertisements. I am leaving our own testimony that our experience is College Avenue does not accurately represent the their terms, and those sites that write that College Ave does... I can only assume their testimony is favorable because they are being paid by the company and have income at stake.
Bait and switch. Advertised rates are not even close to what they actually offer. With a credit rating over 800 I sort of anticipated a rate on a $15000 loan with immediate principal and interest payments to have a rate below 9.5%... You will be better served borrowing the money from Big Tony down at the track...
Sent letter 6 months ago to get cosigner released information
Sent letter 6 months ago to get cosigner released information. Willing to pay bulk of loan to get my name removed. No calls, no correspondence. When I call they tell me to go to website which doesn't have information I am seeking. Terrible customer service and communication.
Wanted to refinance an existing student loan to a lower rate. The loan has no pre-payment penalties. The loan payoff statement is over $1,100 more than what is owed. They are non-responsive to emails. Even tried reaching out to the CEO via Linkedin and requested a member of his team get back to me. No response. Calls go to voicemail. They insulate themselves from their cutsomers by using a loan servicing company who simply plays the "higher authority" card i.e. we can't help you because we are not College Ave. If you are reading this - use someone other than College Ave. Wishing I had used a credit union instead even at a slightly higher rate.

would give less than 1 start if I could
would give less than 1 start if I could. filled out and was looking at the options... came to signing and I reached out to customer support validating I wasn't signing a loan agreement yet as I just wanted to see payment options. Now I'm being told I'm stuck with a loan payment we cannot afford. I've asked to have it cancelled but was told I'm possibly too late so not sure that will even happen No clue how I will be able to afford payments that will be coming down the line if it isn't cancelled.
Someone in this company lied to me when I got this school loan
Someone in this company lied to me when I got this school loan. I was sold a loan and was told I would have no interest or payment until 6 months after college graduation. Now its 6 months later and I am paying back the loan but they are charging me for the accrued interest since the first day it was sent. That is almost 2000 more! I was told that interest would only accrue AFTER THE SIX MONTHS WHEN THE LOAN CAME DUE! The customer service reps talk back and interrupt while asking questions. They have no empathy to the error or the fraud the previous rep communicated.

This student loan agency is a nightmare!
This student loan agency is a nightmare! My 5K loan never seemed to go down and I paid and paid over the years without realizing that maybe they are just adding fees on top of fees. I finally decided to make higher payments when I reached a $1,500 balance because i didn't want to deal with their daily collection calls (when I'm in fact current). Thank God I was paying attention because as soon as I only owed 500 my balance all of a sudden went up to almost $1,500 again! WTF? I called and wanted an explanation, well their explanation was simple; I owe them in interests, that to me did not make any sense when my last statement specifically detailed my interest and principal balance totaling $500. I was so enraged and I realized hat I've been paying for years without paying attention or seeing my balance go down and maybe they've been overcharging me. I'm so upset. This is not ethical or right when I've already paid so much just to get my education. I was not satisfied with their answer and asked them to review my statements, and only then, they realized something was in fact odd and wrong with that balance and escalated my claim. I'm still waiting to see if they can resolve it because I'm tired of paying and paying without getting rid of this debt. I hope they are honest and let me pay truly what I owe. Please double check your statements and make sure you pay attention to your balances so you don't end up paying more than you should.

I did refinanced with a other loan place on Dec 5 2019
I did refinanced with a other loan place on Dec 5 2019. They over paid my account so naow I got a balance still with college ave. I been reaching out to them like 5 times already to get them to send it back to my new loan place (SoFi/mohla). Every time I call them they say "call us back next monday" or "we're on it, the boss is doing it". The third time I tryed calling them they didn't even have a record of the second time I called them, and that was like a few weeks before that and I even had proof in a chat of the whole conversation. Even tho I talking to the same person too they still haven't solved it. I'm getting charged interest because of them and I should have less balance cause its their payment they wont give back.
I cosigned for Account # 210***3
I cosigned for Account # 210***3. Account was late and collection agency called us. But then I went to the web page, paid the money and put up auto-pay. Crummy thing is that my credit report said we didn't pay in last 90 days. Seems like it's the collection agency's fault and not College Ave's because College Ave should have told them that the account is good. I'm mad about this negative thing on my credit report and want it gone now. Student is still going to school. This company shouldn't be in business if they act like a crummy business in this awful economy. Using a collection agency to collect money when you already collected money is crummy service.
College Avenue Student Loans be actin' sketchy, yo
College Avenue Student Loans be actin' sketchy, yo. They be violatin' all up in my rights, not just once, but like multiple times. This supposed to be a closed account up in my credit report for 7 whole long years, but they keep messin' wit it and I got proof, ya heard? Like, don't they know 'bout the Fair Credit Reporting Act and stuff? That junk say I gotta have some privacy and they can't just be sharin' my info without my say-so. And they can't be talkin' to me 'bout my debts without me givin' the thumbs up first or gettin' permission from a court. Plus, they can't be all late on reportin' my payments. That's some shady business, yo. College Avenue Student Loans need to fix this mess ASAP.

Kollage Av has beeinn a real pain dealing with my Intrust Heat want
Kollage Av has beeinn a real pain dealing with my Intrust Heat want. I wants them to rit my intrest rare on auto pay thru my Visa end reduce it down sum so I save sum dough. But they just cant fingure it out. I spoke with lady named Ms. who told me that my Visar account can ruduce my rate from 4.49% to 4.24% startin on Septembar 25th, 2021. But since then, I've bean tryna get ahold of them, I even got names and dates from all my phone convos with them. But they always place me on hold or jus hang up on me or say, "I'm not authorized to talk to you." I went up the food chain to a lady named Ms. Ashley Tatta on Decembar 3rd, 2021, and still nothin'. I just wannit all sorted out and I want what was promised to me from the start. I wanna see it on paper, all proppar like, stating my reduced rate from Septembar 25th, 2021. A loan got made using my name by some jerk on 10/17 at 2 College Avenue student loans
A loan got made using my name by some jerk on 10/17 at 2 College Avenue student loans. Got a letter from College Avenue saying "no way" to that loan [protected]) on October 18th. Been trying everything to make College Avenue abide by the law and give me the correspondence connected to that loan application. Gave them an affidavit of identity theft, police report, and copies of photo ID like the law says on November 10th. They are breaking FCRA 609e, 15 USC 1681(e). They said I would get contacted ages ago, and now I've been turned over to their legal section. This is the third time they have said they will contact me. Boss lady Victoria and Andrea Boffa didn't tell the truth. I just want them to do what the law says. Got proof with emails between me and Andrea Boffa with the federal stuff that establishes my legal rights. Looks like this business doesn't follow the law.
I redid my skool loans with College Ave, now I regret it
I redid my skool loans with College Ave, now I regret it. They didn't pay it all off when they said they would. I called dem up to ask why, they couldn't even tell me. Every time I called, I got a diff'rit answer and nobody could give me no clear answers. One time they said they applied the money wrong and it wasn't paying it off, but then another time they acted like they didn't even know what I was talking about. I was asking them for the numbers and stuff to prove what they were sayin', but they didn't have nothin'. I even asked them to find the recording of the call where they told me it was their error, but I ain't heard nothin' from them since. Don't do it, go with someone else.
They keep callin me damn near every day, tryna tell me I'm late on my payment when I already paid ahead
They keep callin me damn near every day, tryna tell me I'm late on my payment when I already paid ahead. After I give em my details, they say sorry it was an auto-dial and that I'm good. But it's been goin on for half a year now. I had trouble with them not applyin my payments to my student loan account even though the money was comin outta my bank. I even had to keep sendin em proof till they finally fixed it. They said to pay through their website to avoid the same issue. When I paid more than the due amount, they were puttin it to next month's payment instead of the principal. I asked and was told to specify for it to go towards the principal. In January I paid for what was due and then an extra $201 for the principal, but they say I only made an interest only payment. Now they're callin me nine times since Feb 1, even tho they say my account is ahead. I asked for a supervisor but they keep switchin me around. I just want them to stop, it's too much. If it keeps up, I'll do a cease and desist.
