fraudulent service
This is an atrocious "home phone provider" company (shame on you, Tie Domi!). None of the numbers are ever answered to complain about the extremely poor quality of the connections (often non-existent). We went back to Bell and discovered a $226 cancellation fee on our bill from Comwave.
The item on the bill gives a number no one answers. This despite the stated policy that the cancellation fee maximum is $200; and small print that says poor quality and lack of service are no grounds for termination!
There is NO SERVICE! There is no one to contact to give them back their stupid modem.
home phone contracts
I called to cancel a line I wasn't using. Via customer retention policy they offered me a deal if I remained a client, which I honestly didn't even want! I made sure to ask if there was a cancellation fee or contract period, I was told no.
8 months later I go to cancel my service because I'm still not using it. The agent tells me there's a cancellation charge, I ask to speak to the manager. They then confirm that there won't be a charge. 2 days later I find a bill for $226 charged to my mastercard. I call to dispute this, they say its an error and that the fee will be reversed. 2 months later, no refund, and another bill! for $107 this time.. These guys are crooks! IF you decide to do any business with them, do not allow them to access your credit card!
home wireless
In 2011, I closed my account with Comwave. I was not happy with the service. I paid my outstanding balance and returned the equipment via Canada post as instructed. In 2017, I received a call from MetCredit that I had an outstanding balance of $300. I explained the situation and was told to contact Comwave. When I spoke to Comwave I was told that I did not return there modem 7 years prior. I explained that I sent the equipment back as instructed. I was put on hold and them told that they could not see my account information because the account was closed and the information was sent to the collection Agency. I called MetCredit again and explained was told to me by Comwave. I was told that the account details were sent to me via mail over 10 days ago. I informed them that I have not received the information via mail. I asked who was sending the information and was told Comwave. I explained again that Comwave did not have the info since my account was closed. I believe that Comwave is scamming previous clients stating equipment has not been returned. Since you can only return equipment via courier you cannot confirm if each item is received as you would with in-person delivery. For example Rogers scans each item in front of you and provides you with a form stating what was returned. Consumers beware of Comwave. The small saving is not worth the headache and threats to your credit rating.
internet providers
I've been with comwave for 2 years now. I just moved to a new location on june 23 and called comwave for transferring my internet and home phone. I have called them every single day and they told me they would call me at the end of the day to send a technician. Their technician never showed up and I now don't have WiFi for the past 25 days. They are the worst company to have service with.
home phone
I received a faulty and refurbished home phone device with lots of scratches on it. I sent it back with their paid postage and asked for a refund of my shipping. They said "we cant refund the amount".
Firstly I was not told by the agent that I will be charged for the shipping of the device to my home. I placed the complaint to pull out the call conversation, they did not do it even after 4 months I called after placing the complaint and the supervisor was reluctant to pay my money back.
My invoice/account number is C790510 and the case number to stop the services is 32775
Internet and home phone
Comwave Networks Inc. worst Internet and Phone service provide in Canada (North America). Using Bell Internet Lines.
I would like to share life worst experience with any company.
I will say if you ever in your life want to screw your life royally you should try with Comwave Networks Inc. they should file patent in screwing customers life by the way the serve people.
My problem starts here when I had changed address and relocated to new place so i called Comwave Networks Inc. CSR on there customer care number and asked to relocalate my Internet and land line phone on 10-feb-2017. They deducted 106$ as transfer fees on that instance.
So i got confirmation before 2 days of Installation that Comwave Networks Inc. technician visiting my house on 21-feb-2017. So on 21-feb-2017 the technician called my wife but never came home and he Updated Comwave Networks Inc. that my internet and home phone is fixed and customer can start using.
Technician Number [protected].
But unofficially he texted he will come next day, same thing he continuously kept doing and finally on Thursday he said he can’t come because Comwave Networks Inc. have shifted him to different location and technician texted you can ask Comwave Networks Inc. to send another technician. (This text message he was sending on my wife mobile)
Called him so many time left voice message but he never ever received phone or called back from my cell number.
But when we called Comwave Networks Inc. for the issue they said as per there technician your issue is resolved and we can’t do anything. Then i had to call every day to fix this issue but no progress. and every day I had to speak with the CSR with not less than 3-4 hours. That is like my daily routine.
So on 25-feb-2017 finally Bell technician came to resolve the issue he verified everything and he said Internet line is working fine you need to check the Modem setting. Might be modem is not working. That will be fixed by Comwave Networks Inc. .SO again i called technical support team and started discussing the issue at 9:00 am and end time was 12:30. No Resolution.
Again i called them at 13:30 and the call duration was on till 16:45. Till this time i was listening the instruction what was given by the technical Support team.
I continuously asked them to send any technician and resolve the issue, but they say its against there policy they will verify the line at their end and if they find
problem then there supervisors will decide what to do next.
So after 6 hours discussion finally asked there supervisor to take some alternate solution. Solution given was change the modem and they will charge 80$ for that and waiting time will be at least 2 business days.
I asked them to finally disconnect my connection then they said they can’t disconnect the connection because that department is different.
By this time i was charged more 56$ unknown charges more and my monthly bill 100$.
So the total charge that i have to pay to disconnect my Comwave Networks Inc. connection is
1. Home phone Contract Charge: 200$
2. Internet Contract Charge: 200$
3. Installation Fees: 106$
4. Monthly Charge(Home phone and Internet): 107$
5. Unknown charges: 58$
Total charge is 671$ just to disconnect my Connection
Below is the time duration required (TAT) if you call Comwave Networks Inc. customer care
1. time to reach real person 7 mins
2. explain your problem: CSR takes at least 15 mins to understand the issue. (Note the Issue will never be resolved)
3. Escalate you call to Supervisor: Minimum waiting time 30 mins
4. Supervisor to understand your problem : minimum 10-12 mins to understand. (Note the Issue will never be resolved)
5. And most interesting thing if you want to talk to manager you will have to wait for at least 2 weeks’ time to get call
back from Comwave Networks Inc. Manager.
Note:- Still my Internet Connection and Home phone is not yet disconnected, trying to post in blogs so that no other customers get in there trap.
Trying to reach there senior officials but it seems they are having royal life by screwing common man's hard earned money.
Suggestion to their owners of Comwave Network Inc. ever in your life call from local number and talk as a normal customer and check whether how much time your CSR takes to understand the Issue.
Thanks,
Indrasen
Internet
WORST Worst internet service provider. I have complained about my internet it's either. Dry slow or there's no internet at all. I pay for the fastest internet. Every time I call they put us on hold for an hour and then I have to contact tech support who don't do anything. When I asked to terminate the contract they told me I have to wait one more year or pay cancellation fee ?
Home Phone AND Internet
In November 2015 I subscribed to Home Phone, free long distance in Canada and the US plan and was living in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories at the time. Every call I made even within the town of Yellowknife and anywhere for that matter was long distance because Comwave informed me that the Northwest Territories is not included. The first 6 months were supposed to be "absolutely" free as Tie Dummy says but they billed me. I learned of this "restriction" in January but was then locked into a 3 yr arrangement because I didn't terminate within the "grace" period. They would charge $200. to let me out of an agreement I didn't make but is hidden in the fine print. I called them in April to inform them I was moving to Toronto in May and I would subscribe to their "unlimited" internet service and I wanted the modem sent to my new address such that it would arrive shortly after I did. The modem they sent went to my Yellowknife address so I had no modem and because the phone works on the internet, I had no phone either from May 20 to June 14. Rogers came and hooked up a new modem and when the phone was plugged in, it didn't work - at all. Meanwhile Comwave billed me for both the phone and the internet service - in advance for something they did not provide. I told them I needed a phone and they failed to provide one so they told me I was free to find another provider for the phone service, letting me out of the 3 year contract, like they were doing me a favour. Comwave claimed they would credit my account for the period I had no phone service. On my next bill in July there was no credit. When I called their PR person which they call an Umbudsman I asked about the credit which they told me would be applied to August bill. I still subscribed to the internet service which is run on Rogers systems and on July 7, Comwave sent me a return authorization for the home phone device and the modem that went to Yellowknife. Comwave threatened to bill my credit card roughly $75 for the cheap $5 dollar phone device and $105 for the throttled modem if they were not returned within 30 days. They billed me for the modem less than two weeks later. I told them I would be cancelling the internet service September 4 which is the end of the billing cycle and that I wanted an address to send the modem before they billed me for not returning it to end my business with that company. Canada is disgustingly weak about consumer rights as evident in letting this company based in El Salvador to run rough shod over over Canadian consumers who apparently have no recourse. I would love to join a "class action" since I predict Comwave will not refund the money they stole for the return of the 1st modem I have sent back.
Long distance call
I am using their service for almost 10 years. recently i realize being over charged by them. the total minuts i talk doesnt adds up to what i got charged. then i checked my last 6 months bills and i have discrepancy on all of them.
i contact them and the representative told me they charge the costomer base on US dollar rate so that is why my total is diffrent from my bills. i was never told about this when i signed up for their service with call select 10 years ago. and also i dont undrestand that why a canadian base company charge the costomers base on US dollar rate.
so my complains are about
1. minuts fraud! minuts doesnt adds up to the total they claim.
2.total invoice $ is way more that what it should be because they charge base on US rate.

Bad customer service. No written agreements
I have spoken to multiple different people on the phone at Comwave, about canceling my internet service with them, only 1 month after we decided to try Comwave. Each person I spoke with had numerous rebuttals to what I was saying; I was always wrong. Isn't the customer service number one rule is client is always right? (or correct) Not at Comwave! Myself and my husband spent more than 1 HOUR on the phone with the supervisor, trying to : 1. get our deposit money back and 2. cancel the service. With the supervisor! I have worked in call centres as an employee and as a manager for customer service, never have I encountered this kind of rude behavior and practice. Other detail that might determine you signing up with Comwave: their deposit feeS. You have the security deposit, the price of the modem, and because the credit card we were using has a bad credit record, add another fee to it. (who doesn't havea bad credit these days..!) Total amount was...(drum roll...)... a nice golden $375.00. Two days after we had the modem installed; bam our account was charged 1 month of service usage, $66. Too much, this is just too much of accumulation of negative experience. So beware.. Comwave is not a Canadian wide provider for these reasons..!
Dear Stephardson, I am very sorry to hear that you are upset with us. Customer satisfaction is our number one priority and we will go above and beyond to ensure that you are satisfied. Contract Without Agreement
After waiting out my 3-year contract with a below average service (frequent dropped calls, no service periods lasting 5-6 hours on numerous occasions, faulty VoIP machine) I was surprised to find out that without my consent, Comwave has AUTO-ENROLLED me in another 3-year contract. After cancelling my service earlier this year (2015) and being charged $300 for it despite my 3-year contract having being matured, I was forced to stay with them in order to get a refund. Now after waiting 6 months and truly fed up with a very poor service (unable to send or receive calls for more than 10 seconds without a call drop) I called to cancel. And yes I am in a 3-year contract again and am being asked to pay $200 plus tax for early termination.
They have NO record of me every signing up for another 3-year contract. The rep/supervisor has said we just offer promotions via email and don't keep records of contracts. WHAT? So I am basically told I signed up for a 3-year contract, they have no agreement at hand, no emails sent to me about my new contract.
I can't seem to do anything about it. How is this scam even allowed? I don't have any options but to pay them $200 or pay 14.95/month for a service that is unusable.
I am so upset and angry at this fraudulent business.
If they cannot produce a copy of the contract, then they have no legal avenue to charge you a cancellation fee.
comwave not canceling service
I have phone service from comwave. I want to cancel my service but they not canceling it. They put call on hold for realy long time. Makes jokes If answer. Yea that funny but harassment. I call my credit card compney to deal with it. They send me charges which i not used service. They call me every moring to harassing. Now giving warning to sent bill to collection agency. I paid remaining balance. But now asking. More money to cancel the service . Be aware
my service is not working.my account is payed direct by the bank.nova scotia payed for your bills .now up the service i pay for
No help from them and the Internet is horrible
I used high speed Internet of the company ComWave. The worst Internet ever. I called several times to this company, but they only promised to fix everything or send the tech. I was sick of these promises and one day I called them and cancelled the agreement. After that they needed to return my money, which I paid in advance, but I still haven’t received it. They are scammer and thieves, so beware and share this info. It might be very helpful for other people as well.
I am very sorry you have not had a great experience with us. Please email social@comwave.net with your customer ID so we can ensure this is looked into asap.

failure to deliver service
We decided to leave Bell and join Comwave. We signed up with Comwave on the 5th of December, they sent us our invoice of 70.06. They left us without service for a few days - or so we thought... Then they didn't show up for their appointment to install our home phone service on the 23rd of December. My husband called to complain, they said someone would come on the 28th. No one showed up. My husband called (on his cell phone because we have no house phone yet) to complain again. Spent the entire morning morning trying to get our phone up and running. Then they said they'd come today - the 2nd of January...And guess what? No one showed. Almost going on a month with no home phone. Just filed a complaint with the BBB. We tried to cancel before they smooth talked us into the Jan 2nd appointment, but they said we would be charged a cancellation fee and that we would lose our phone number which we've had for 10 years. These guys are unprofessional and they are con artists. BEWARE.
Telephone and Internet scamming
If you like to lose your life and life’s happiness, then you believe Comwave.com’s advertisement, buy their products and services and get screwed for few months.
1. I got fed up with one of the biggest crooks in NA Roger’s Cable and believed Comwave’s land phone advertisement. I bought the service. It took eight months, multiple escalations to get my telephone# transferred from Roger’s Cable to Comwave and a half of the world was laughing at me.
2. In the first month, they charged my credit card twice, I complained, and they returned the amount of 50.00 to my Comwave a/c that I was not told about, not to my credit card a/c.
3. They lied about long distance and ate up 82.00 from me.
4. I hooked up for Comwave Internet, it was never installed, and couldn’t be installed because it was a big scam even though I paid 50.00 for the installation, which was never returned upon cancellation.
Comwaves call centers are in Venezuala, Equador, Panama and all over South America. When you call they say, “I don’t know.” Then they will transfer you to another call center of another country making your life miserable.
They count on your every dollar because they can get a juicy girl for 24 hours at one dollar in those countries. I asked one Comwave.com rep in Venezuela over the phone, he said, “Well, this is the culture of this continent.”
I lost money, I lost happiness in my life. Still they advertise on TV and I know who they are – a bunch of shameless crooks.
Now I understand why they are so much heartless crooks. But my complaint is against the bums of CRTC...how they can allow Comwave do this type of unethical and deceiving business in Canada? These CRTC guys just care for their paychecks, nothing else.
Scam
I set up service with Conwave last Sunday. I received an e-mail with confirmation for a 3 year agreement which was never discussed. I contacted them and they refuse to cancel my account.
I have done some research on the Internet and the fraud is appalling. I do not understand how this company is getting away with fraud.
I have contacted CRTC and Canadian Antifraud Centre and I am planning to file a Small Claim.
I just wanted to share this information in order for the government of Canada to stop Comwave’s fraudulent business practices.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
just ordered the velocity well that was a mistake they show the same thing every few hours and day after day
stay away from comwave they are a fraud
Comwave is rated &F& by BBB
Please check BBB (Better Business Bureau) where Comwave had been given the lowest rating “F” (the range is from A+ to F). They have 342 complaints registered against them with BBB alone over the last 3 years and this is only a drop in the ocean! Their sales agent lies during the “point of sale” by making you believe into thinking that you are getting 6 months free and that you can end the contract anytime during the 3 years by paying up the first 6 months off!
All lies, before you know, you are entrapped by this scammer and your credit card gets charged all kinds of nonsense without your prior approval or knowledge. And the best part, if you try to end the contract, you get slapped with the balance of the 36 months service fees which in my case, amounted to nearly $1200 after using Comwave for 4 months! COMWAVE is a total SCAM!
i agree
Telephone Service
I signed up to Comwave a few months ago.. Despite certain setbacks, unable to get service on all my phones, delay in calling, being charged more for my long distance calls than I was supposed to, voicemail indicator light on telephone will not turn off, even after deleting messages, it did so with my last provider.
The first month it was okay, then after that when ever the internet went off even for a minute, the phone went dead. And I was told that I had to pull out all the cords attached to the telephone line, the router, and the power source, and attach them back again, this sometimes worked the first time, other times, I had to repeat the process several times before I could get back dial tone. This is annoying to me personally because my internet goes down sometimes for a minute or two. I am a senior citizen and would not have taken this service if I had known that I would personally have to try and fix it when ever the internet went.
Some days ago my internet went down for a couple of hours, of course the phone was dead for that time. I expected that, but what I did not expect was that no matter how many times I repeated the process of getting the dial tone back it would not work. I lived without a phone for three days constantly trying during those 3 days to get the phones to work.
Finally I rang Comwave customer service and told them the problem, they had me going from one department to another without success. I then told them that I wanted to discontinue service, because I have a sick husband, and I am in urgent need of a telephone. They told me that if I did that I would have to pay a discontinuation fee of $500.00.
They persuaded me that they could fix it, so I was sent back to their Technical department, but after hours of trying (by them getting me to pull out plugs and place it in different ports etc.). It still would not work. They even came into my computer through Team Viewer, tried accessing my router, when finally after 7 hours with them, I told them that I was hungry because it was now after 2: o’ clock, and I had neither breakfast or lunch. They gave me 13 more things to try after I had my lunch. Nothing worked and I am still without a telephone.
It is now weeks since I cannot get dial tone from them.
i agree
Never had a service and seem to owe $1083.25 Bull S*it.
Here is a company that would not accept my payment of 9.37 and now 3 months later state that I owe $1083.25. That is Hog wash as far as I am concerned. This company inothing more than a scam. They should be shut down.
comwave violate canadian law and are thieves and fraudsters
Hi Robert James,
We would like to assist you with this situation but have been unable to contact you since early April regarding this issue. The problem with your payment not being accepted was not a problem with Comwave as your credit card company did not allow the charge. You should definitely contact them about why this occurred.
Please email us letushelp@comwave.net so that we can solve this concern.
Regards,
The Comwave Team.
