Comwave Networks Don't use this scammers

So I thought about switching and called the 1 866 number, The lady on the phone sounded sincere, I asked all the right questions and was told about there offer of $14.95 home phone service, I agreed to the $12 shipping and there $50 with holding fee, when the unit arrived I took it out of the box, I was surprised to see the tiny cheap little box with a link line to my computer and a phone jack, I looked at my welcome letter for installation instructions and I noticed a $44 dollar charge on my account, it was for $12+tax and $25+tax for non sufficient founds returned from my bank, I contacted them and they told me I didn’t have any money in my account, I have a overdraft protection on my account so this is impossible, I told them this and they started with I have to pay or my account or would be sent to collection agency, NOW remember I haven’t even set up the phone, tried there service and I am getting treated like this, I went to the bank and there was no attempt by comwave to attempt to withdraw that amount, UM FISHY, I tried to get them to drop the charges and still I would try there product under the same agreement, I also noticed it was for a 3YR contract they put me in without telling me also a $2 per month phone warranty- I DIDN’T”T EVEN GET THERE PHONE TO HAVE A WARRANTY ON,

They offered to pay for half the $25 dollars and I go ahead and try it…….NOPE ! I cancelled my account for which he told me I cannot with out paying off my balance, I am basically scammed, robbed mislead all the things that you would think would never happen to you all to save a lousy $10 per month off my phone bill, DO NOT USE COMWAVE they are in to scam you not to ever have you try thier phone service at all..

I have a very bad experience with comwave. They offer unlimited but actually it is not. Their website is misleading. The representatives are not well equipped to guide you. They will charge you more and then they say it will be given as a credit.
My suggestion is Please Please do not use it and convey this message to all the customers

DO NOT USE COMWAVE.

Hello,
I signed up for comwave global phone. On the comwave website you can see unlimited calling to 60 countries. But actually you can call some limited calls. One of my friends start using it and he was charges about 200 Dollars (one month).
I was also charged for the trial month although I did not use their service often.
The comwave is a scam company. The best way if they treat you badly or they send you wrong bill, their habit and they do so intentionally, the best way to drag them to court.
One of my friend has the same issue with the Bell and he got 9000 dollars in the court.
The way these service providers send the unfair bills to collection agencies we being a customer have an option to knock at the door of court.
Amazingly I was promised that they will give me my trial charges and almost 20 days has being passed. I got nothing till now. They also charged me 50 dollars and they did not tell me.
Due to comwave I changed the credit card number. Now they send me email every day that my credit card has been declined. They have the system to send automatic emails but we do not such kind of system.
Long story short do not sign any agreement in writing or on the phone. If they have collection agency then we have the court. Even for minor fault they can be sued because everyone knows about their practices

Comwave Networks Charge on Credit Card without customer authorization

I was a Comwave customer for the last three years and recently renewed another three year period.
However, a few months after my renewal, my Comwave telephone line began not working properly in January 2012.
After 5 - 30 minutes of its use, the telephone always gets cut off in the middle of conversation and there is no dial tone afterward.
To activate the phone again, I had to plug out/in the cables every 5 - 30 minutes. In order to keep the telephone line active, I need to stay home and repeat plug out/in the cables every 5- 30 minutes (it is practically impossible to do so). Otherwise, telephone line stops working.

Since early February 2012, I had called Comwave technical support over ten times and even switched ISP from Telus to Shaw to make sure that the cause of problem is not on the ISP side.
Even in late March 2012, Comwave still could not resolve the technical problem. For the last three months, I was not able to receive incoming coming calls and could not make phone calls no more than 30 minutes.

In the meantime, Comwave kept charging monthly billing on my Credit Card and air time charge on my cell phone increased significantly because of long-distance calls to Comewave technical support in Toronto.
Finally, I decided to cancel a contract with Comewave as I really needed telephone service.

I called Comewave customer service and their supervisor and requested not to charge an early cancellation fee and give credits for the last three months periods I did not receive the telephone services.
However, Comwave's supervisor refused my requests. He said, "You signed a three year contract. So, we have to charge an early cancellation fee". I replied, "I signed a contract based on the promise that Comewave provides the service, but Comewave failed to provide the services described on the terms of the contract.
Nevertheless, not only no credit for these months was given but also the early cancellation fee was charged on my credit card without my authorization.

An early cancellation fee is to be charged when a customer wishes to terminate services without just reason.
In this case, it is apparent that the Comwave made two unethical business practice.
1. Charging an early cancellation fee without a customer's authorization.
2. Without providing telephone services, charging a customer fees for the services.

I believe two months period is more than enough time for Comewave to resolve the technical problem.
I had no choice but switch to other telephone company because no proper telephone line for these months caused significant inconvenience to my daily needs.
I talked with my colleagues, friends and social network sites, they were shocked with my experience with Comwave.

At the management level, customer satisfaction and good reputation are of prime importance, but at the customer service/sale level, they have a different goal, that is sales increase even at the expense of customer satisfaction, Comwave reputation, and even violating the contract law.

Comwave has all the characteristics of a SCAM so it is a scam. First of all it uses a name that would lead anyone to believe that is a communication company when they state very clearly in their web posted Terms and Conditions they are not. They are a Marketing Company! This comes directly from http://www.comwave.net/legals/#

c) Comwave is not liable for:

(i) any disruption or unavailability of the Services;

(ii) any act or omission of any third party (including any other local telephone company, any connecting carrier or underlying carrier or other provider of connections, facilities, or Services);

(d) Comwave is a marketing company and does not provide actual telecom services. Comwave acts as an agent of various third party carriers and subscriber accounts are the property of the respective carrier. The employees or agents of other carriers are not and shall not be deemed to be agents or employees of Comwave. There is no express or implied warranty or condition, whether of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or otherwise, with respect to the Services. In subscribing for the Services, the Subscriber obtains no proprietary right or interest in, any particular facility, service, equipment, telephone number or code associated with the Services.

No wonder they do not offer any kind of warranties. They make money by charging outrageous penalty fees. I was asked to pay $150 to get access to the taping of my conversation where I accepted a 3 years contract when I did not. Just to discourage me to ask for. I never signed anything with them... The Terms and Conditions state very clearly:

3.10 Resolutions
The Comwave customer service department is here to assist you and managers are on duty for escalations if you feel that your concerns have not been handled to your satisfaction. We also endeavor to record and archive phone calls for quality and training and in the event that you request a copy of any verbal agreements. Upon written request, we can provide you archived call recordings for dispute resolution. However in the event the dispute resolution is in Comwave's favor, a $25 fee per recording will apply.

Never subscribe to Comwave service even if it is free. They work by the following rule: Everyone is invited in for free, no one leaves unless they pay the price imposed by us under the threat of screwing your credit rating.

It is your choice to read the small print or not...

I strongly agree that Com-wave is a total pain when someone is trying to escape from their hook.
In my case even they recorded my conversation that I do not want to get into a 3 year contract they still shipped the device to try it for 6 month free. I returned the same day I received the device just after I spoke again with a customer service representative where to send and what else I owe to them (package was not even opened never mind trying the device)
6 month later I receive a letter from collection agency that I have to pay for the shipping the device (from them to me) as I never give any credit card information for them to do any unauthorized payment.
People BE AWARE before you get in any contract with these companies.

Comwave Networks extremely poor service

Have been trying to obtain a pin number to activate my mobile phone. Service as been paid for. Called Comwaves service department and was told that no information could be passed on by them. However I could send an E-Mail stating my problem. This as been done with no response from the people that took my money. In closing I would say that the said operation needs some scrutiny by someone with official status. Thank You.

Comwave Networks Overcharging

HI
I ve been using comwave to make calls to India. In November when i got my invoice i was shocked to see my bill was 99.23 instead of $13.16. After several phone calls to Customer care nothing was done. They said it will be credited to my comwave accounts. I asked them who will pay my Credit Card Company. I called Anat in the Admin office and spoke to her and she said she will make sure the refund is made.
Till today i have not got my refund of 86.07. Surprisingly i have got this months (december) invoice in which i see a refund in bracket but in actual it has not come to my CC. Moreover they have done the same thing of over charging me for December instead of somd $20 they have charged me $43.48.
I called the customer care who are lietrally hopeless people who dont even have the manners to talk. They said as a courtesy we will credit it to my comwave account. Non-sense, my money is taken and they say courtesy.

So for the last two month my total should be around $30 but they have charged me $122 and still not refunded.
My id no is c93765. I wish the president looks into this cheating that is going on in comwave.
I hope the complaint board will look into this. I would be happy if i can speak to the right person to sort out my problem.
Mr. Samuel

Cancel your account with them. I am telling you as someone who worked there for month and a half. Giving your CC # to comwave is like taking all your cash and leaving it on the street. People who work there have no criminal check done on them, and I know at least one person who has a criminal background. The owner Abhas his sister working there also. They are so greedy it's sick! They drive all this fency cars you can see Lamborgini, Ferrari, Bentley, BMW's ouside and they pay their employees $11 an hour and actually at the end they don't pay them all as they steel from their hours at work. Be very carefull about this company. I don't know how the canadian government is alowing this. They are fraud, and plus people are trying to work, just this ### are not paying.

Comwave Networks Stay away

VOIP phone doesn’t work when the power is out. This doesn’t even start to replace a proper home phone service so don’t get distracted by the price. I evaluated the Comwave service during the free 30 day trial period but still had to pay to have the router shipped to me and now I have to pay to have it sent back. I called customer service to cancel and they said that the “loyalty department” would call me. I just called a week later as I still have not heard from them! The girl was really nice but she couldn’t explain why this other department needed to call me. I ended up prying out the return address so I can send back the router – at my expense of course.

They offer a guarantee but don’t actually take on any of the liability that comes with it. I would stay far away from Comwave – you truly get what you pay for!

I took a global calling plan with Comwave on 25th March 2017 as I was new to Canada. Initialy, they misleaded me that it includes all free callings to US, Spain etc. Later on, they are saying that its only LAndline for Spain not Mobile phones. I am facing issues in the bills for every month and I have to call Comwave and get it credited back. Everytime they promise me that it will be credited back but it is never done yet. I do spend hours with them struggling to get the credit.
This month also, they added 15$ extra to my account. When I ask them to connect to Senior representative or manager, I have to be on hold for long time.

Please advise how can I get my money back and a strict action needs to be taken against them. They can not fool people who are new to Canada. They should be transparent enough and do what they promise.
Please let me know how to raise it to take action against all this. Thanks in advance.

Comwave Networks False promise, harassment and fake invoice

Comwave call centre offers a long distance services on November 24, 2011 with free minutes. Their website mentioned a different rate. Hence I did not use their free call. Their call centre continued pestering me to use the free call but I refused saying that I need their offer in writing before using it..
On November 29, 2011 I received an invoice dated November 24, 2011 (incidentally that's the day I received first call centre call from Comwave!) threatening to forward to collection agency as "your account is severely PAST OVERDUE"!
Comwave is a scam. DO NOT TAKE ANY CALL CENTRE CALL FROM COMWAVE. Otherwise you are likely to receive threatening invoice to take your money. BEWARE OF COMWAVE!

Comwave Networks Service did not work, then would not allow to cancel

The service that was sold to work on my cell did not work. Comwave's tech support acknowledged that it would not work and then refused to cancel the service, alleging that the "cancellation department" would have to call me back to cancel the service. The cancellation department never called back, so I sent an email cancelling the service requesting an acknowledgement of cancellation. This email was not acknowledged. As Conwave did not respond I successfully charged back the charge via my credit card. Months later Rosemary from Comwave's accounts receivable department called me to theaten me with collections as they now want to charge me an additional $50 for charging back the original charge that was made on my credit card for a service that did not work. Rosemary did acknoledge that Conwave received my cancellation via email on June 23. However Rosemary still is seeking collections.

I tried to subscribe to Comwave's ephone service too but could not because I do not have audio and had to call the second day to cancel. I was told that customer service will call me to confirm the cancellation. It is over three weeks now and nobody has called. I found in my account statement that the company charged me not only once but twice in the amounts of $30 and $32.40. I expect Comwave to refund my money immediately upon reading this comment/complaint. I am now subscribed with MagicJack Plus and very happy with the service.

Comwave Networks falsying contract

They claim I have a contract with them, but I never agree to one and I never signed a contract with them. I even called them before 3 months trial to cancel the service and they didn't accept to do it. saying they are going to bill me to the next 3 years! I am going to file claim with BBB and probably a law suit.

Comwave Networks falsifying contract

I recently canceled my home phone service with Comwave on Jan. 4, 2011 (because their office was closed, reopened 4/1/2011) and was told that the cancellation department will contact me in a couple of days on "how to return the equipment and about my refund of the deposit. On the Jan. 11, 2011 I was contacted by a Sheldon Samuels [protected] ext.349) who said that he's the vice president of Comwave.

Mr. Sheldon informed me that I couldn't cancel because I'm on a 3 year contract with Comwave and if I canceled, I'll be billed for the rest of the remaining contract. I tried to explain to Mr. Sheldon Samuels that I didn't sign on to contract but he would not have any of it. He insisted that there is a fine print buried in the contract that says it's a 3 year contract. What I don't understand is, why is Comwave advertising their service as a free contract policy to hook the customer into obtaining their service, then burying a 3 year contract in the fine print'. My guess is that's Comwave thanks to the customers for signing onto their no contract policy

Please supply postage for your equipment like the other carriers such as Rogers, Bell, Fido, Telus, etc. do. I understand that you do business differently to other companies. Passing on the expense of having your equipment shipped to your customers and having Mr.
Sheldon Samuels call me trying to intimidate me of having a 3 years contract when in fact I do not and did not is very unethical.

My Comwave nightmare started when I signed up in April 2013. When I gave them my credit card number to enroll they charged it three times for $70.06 and I had to argue to get them to reverse two of the charges. I also had to pay for two installation charges because I wasn't here when they came the first time yet I called them to postpone the installation. WHAT COMPANY DOES THIS?! I was not notified of any 3 year contract at any time.
I was willing to overlook these things understanding my monthly bill was only going to be $56.44 per month. The problem was the service they provided was sub-standard. Phone conversations would cut off, people on the other end would not be able to hear me, and it was like talking through a tin can. But most importantly their phone service was not available 100% of the time. due to the inadequate service they provided, because of this I missed calls from my son's school and, my mother who is 90. I emailed them through their customer contact us page with these concerns but had no reply. I cancelled in November 2014. They have sent MetCredit after me to collect for some reason. Certainly they can't expect more money for service that was sub-par, and mostly not available when I needed it. Now with CRTC regulations in place 30 days notice is all that's required to cancel phone service. STAY AWAY FROM COMWAVE! IT'S A SCAM!

Here is my recent complaint that is applicable to Comwave's fraudulent practice of fabricating false contracts:

After waiting out my 3-year contract with a below average service (frequent dropped calls, no service periods lasting 5-6 hours on numerous occasions, faulty VoIP machine) I was surprised to find out that without my consent, Comwave has AUTO-ENROLLED me in another 3-year contract. After cancelling my service earlier this year (2015) and being charged $300 for it despite my 3-year contract having being matured, I was forced to stay with them in order to get a refund. Now after waiting 6 months and truly fed up with a very poor service (unable to send or receive calls for more than 10 seconds without a call drop) I called to cancel. And yes I am in a 3-year contract again and am being asked to pay $200 plus tax for early termination.
They have NO record of me every signing up for another 3-year contract. The rep/supervisor has said we just offer promotions via email and don't keep records of contracts. WHAT? So I am basically told I signed up for a 3-year contract, they have no agreement at hand, no emails sent to me about my new contract.
I can't seem to do anything about it. How is this scam even allowed? I don't have any options but to pay them $200 or pay 14.95/month for a service that is unusable.
I am so upset and angry at this fraudulent business.

COMWAVE is so disrespectful. I am the executor of an estate. I have sent a copy of the death certificate, a link to the obituary (which they could not open) and a screen shot of the obituary. None of this is enough! I have spent hours on the phone with them to no avail (as most of it is 'on hold' while I get shuffled around. This company is unbelievable! Please do not do business with them -- even in death you cannot escape them!

Comwave's unlimited internet not so unlimited. I just had this email arrive after signing up for one of their unlimited internet plans. I also discovered that I'm in a 3 year contract that I never agreed to and that it will cost a lot of money to cancel out of. Beware Comwave, they are full of the same kind of crooks as every other phone/internet company.

Our records show you have used 340GB in May which far exceeds our Fair Usage Policy. Typical high usage is 200GB per month and typical normal usage is less than 140GB per household. Netflix movies for example are approximately ½ GB. While your Comwave service is Unlimited, it is governed by an industry-wide Fair Usage Policy to ensure that all our customers and your neighbours can enjoy uninterrupted service.

Please check your computers to ensure that they are not infected with any viruses and that your Wi-Fi is secure.

We have not billed you for any excess charges and this is just a friendly reminder.

Should your usage continue in this manner, we will have no choice but to bill you twenty-five cents per GB for usage in excess of 300GB.

Comwave Networks Worst Service Provider

I signed up for service on trial basis in January 18, 2010. When I talked to their sales representative RAY he agreed on all the conditions as well as he assured that he will match the price of my long distance plan with Comwave.

Now and then there was a black out in service, distorted voice, auto disconnecting call while talking. When ever I talked to customer serive there is always 30-45 mins wait time before you hear someone from other side. And almost every customer service agent answers like he / she has started working in the company since last week. Unable to answer questions and few times very rude and just don't want to answer the question.

One day I called the customer service and asked about my long distance plan and at point I realized what I got myself into. Comwave has been charging the orignal rates not the rates promised by the sales agent. When I told them about the conversation with their sales representative, they told me that no person with the name of RAY works in Comwave. I dig deeper and started asking questions I found out that their 3-way calling feature most of the time does not even work (as per their technical department personal).

Then they told me that my VOIP unit is faulty and I have to pay for the shipping cost to send it back to Comwave in order to avoid $250 charge on the replacement unit. At this time I decided to cancel the service. The customer service personal processed my request and sent it to their complaints department - there was a long discussion before I made him do that.

Two days later I recieved a call from complaints department and I explained every thing to the lady on the other side of the phone. She aplogized and cancel my service. I explicity told her not to process the request for diconnecting my current phone service. She assured my that the request is still in the company and is not processed and it will be cancelled before it goes out.

I paid for registered parcel and sent back the VOIPS units to Comwave, and thanked GOD for saving me from having a ever lasting grief.

But life is not that simple, especially when you are dealing with scammers like COMWAVE ... Week later my home phone got disconnected...

tomorrow I will be calling my home phone service provide, paying panalties, re-connections fees etc to get the PEACE OF MIND I had, before singning up with COMWAVE...

If I can save ONE person from getting into this mirage I will be happy...

Comwave Networks Comwave Canada (Solution to your Problems)

I have had comwave for over 5 year had several occassions got worst customer service over 40 min hold time and issue never been resolved.

Actually if you look at customer service and managers they are working 12 to 20 dollar job to pay their bills, do you really think they care about your issue? definetily not.

The only key people who care about customer service is the one who own the company (i.e Owner, President, CEO, CFO etc) because turn over goes to them which is in hundres and thousands of dollars plus comepetion.

If you are Having any problems with your services with Comwave Canada, dont call customer serivce because its nothing but waste of time.

I had a problem with Comwave due to cancellation charges, I contacted the President of Comwave Mr.Abe Benitah,
He heard my concerns with the cancellation fees and wanted to know my situation.
Mr, Benitah was very patient with my concerns and promptly resolved the issue.
I was pleasantly surprised of the positive outcome, and in the future would highly recommend going back to Comwave and the services they provide.
It is very rare that a President of any company could give a customer the time to hear concerns of a customer, and I am very impressed with Mr. Benitah and his professionalism.
I am very Happy with the outcome.

Why didn't I see this site earlier? Extremely sneaky and dishonest. Claim to give 6 months free but start charging from the 4th month. Before I had realized, they had charged my credit card for the cost of the equipment, shipping and extended warranty? All their initial sales promise were retracted and now after using them for 4 months, they want me to pay nearly $1500 to close the account! It is extremely disappointing to know that such scam bags are still allowed to operate. Never again will I use a service that forces me to allow for pre-authorize payment with credit card.

I have spoke to at least six representatives over a month period. I have used Comwave for about 2 years. Every request to cancel my account which I do not need is answered the same. A technical representative will call me. Usually it is said they will call the next day or in a couple days. I have never gotten a call. It is not good business to be involved with a company that does not follow it, s customers requests. And technically Comwave owes me money for continuing to charge me a service I do not utilize.

This is very true. I had a long distance service with them for 4 years. Last time they offered me $25 voucher for a contract of 1 year and then I moved to a different territory where they couldn't provide me local access number and then cancelled my service and sent me bill of $200, and after 2-3 months sent claim to a collection agency. Now I am arguing with them but they insist to pay this amount. I am looking volunteers to join a submit a collective complaint to BBB and consumers Canada, because they don't follow Canada telecom rules. Comwave is already on F on BBB rating. There are hundreds and thousand complaints against them and I am sure consumer Canada will defiinitely look into this matter which is harasing and making wrong money from Canadians. Email me at khussain@gmail.com if needed.

Yes this is all true. They signed my mother up without her consent and are now charging her. We asked for an investigation of the account and after that she got a call stating that if her account wasnt paid in full, it would be sent to a collection agency. Disguising company. We willl also be making a complaint with the Bette Business Bureau and encourage anyone else who has been scammed to do the same

Comwave Networks Comwave refuses to cancel service and charging credit card for service that no longer works!

I have been experiencing poor cutomer service and fraudulent behavior!

I had my service for about 3 years and at the time I had purchased their wireless phone the UT1000. The phone started acting up after 6 months i called the company and they told me it was the battery or the charger. I lived with the issue another 7 months and the phone refused to connect to wireless access points. I called the company and they gave me the same excuse, battery and charger, so I caved and purchased these two items from them. After receiving the devices i tried to get the phone to work and it had the same problem. I asked them to replace the phone but they refused saying that the model was discontinued and that i would have to buy a wired device! i decided to hack my phone to get the network settings in order to use my voip using XLITE. I successfully used the service until a month ago when just stopped. i called the company and they refused to help me saying that I had one or their wire devices ( A lie). i asked them to cancel the service and they asked me for a number to contact me. I could not give them a number because my voip phone was my only number! so they refused to cancel my service and they continued to charge my credit card for two months! I am still trying to get this service cancelled...
COMWAVE ARE FRAUDS do not register for their service!
As long as you have no problems things will be ok, but god forgive if you have a problem, good luck! And they will not allow you to cancel your service easily... maybe never!

Comwave's service is the worst. My phone service stopped working on October 31 and I tried calling them from my cell on a number of occasions but could never get and was in the hold queue for over long periods of times each time I tried to call them over a period of several weeks. I also tried email with no immediate response. Frustrated by the inability to get through I decided to cancel my service and sent an email and received a response that I had to speak to an agent in order to cancel - but of course could not reach an agent by phone. A few weeks later I finally spoke with an agent and I was told I had to speak to his supervisor and he put me in the waiting queue again where I was placed on hold for over 15 minutes and in frustration hung up. I then contacted Comwave again by email several times telling them I am cancelling but they continue to refuse to deny this and keep sending bills. Stay away from Comwave. There is something very underhanded about the way this company operates.

I hate comwave. They agreed that they will give me a refund, and cancel my account. They even sent me an email to confirm that they canceled my account and refund my money back to my card. Boy what a big fat lie i found later. The next month, I found out that they kept on charging my credit card and I had no refund. I tried to call them back and the sales girl hung up on me! I am so fed up with this company. I will pursue legal action for sure this time!

Stay away from comwave!

After terrible customer service I cancelled my internet service with them and they continue to charge me despite the fact I have returned the modem. I have a $300 bill full of "invoice credits". When I call them they put me on hold for over 2 hours. I put my phone on speaker and watched a whole movie. Then finally someone came back and when they realized I was still waiting I was hung up on.

They continue to bill for "invoice credits" and now expect me to pay them $651 or else they will go to creditors. I am still trying to get a straight answer from them.

People need to stop being so stupid. Read the freaking contract and remember the terms! I would think something like "you must pay $20 for every month left in the contract" would be a major thing to remember. Perhaps more major than someone's birthday. Just a thought.

same complaint here:

http://comwave.goodinfocopy.com/comwave.htm

Mary signed a 2 years long contract just for a cheaper price with Comwave for the Comwave iPhone Voice over IP (VOIP) internet phone. For some reason, she was tired of Comwave and decided to switch to another company. Earlier this year, she phoned up Comwave and knew that her contract would be expired in July. So she just waited for the contract to expire, and expected that her August invoice of the Comwave VOIP internet phone would show the regular price since her contract would have already been expired in July.

She was totally wrong. The invoice of her Comwave VOIP internet phone kept showing the contract price. It seemed that her internet phone contract with Comwave would never expire. So she phoned up Comwave again and only to be told that the Comwave had automatically renewed her contract for another year, WITHOUT her permission NOR any notification email or letter to her, because she did not tell Comwave to terminate her contract in last July. The Comwave's reason : that is the Terms and Conditions of the Contract.

She was also being warned that the early cancellation of her one year unauthorized contract would cost her $200 in total for the 10 unexpired months, i.e. $20 for every unfufilled month of the new unauthorized contract.

After arguing for a long time to no avail, Mary finally gave up :
"OK. But please make a note in my account : do NOT make another unauthorized renewal when this unauthorized contract is expired."

The Comwave's answer :
"No. You have to call us again in next July. It is your responsibility not ours according to the Terms and Conditions."

"I have a hard time to even remember the anniversary date of my marriage. Could you please send me an email or letter to remind me when it is going to be expired ?"
"No. We cannot do that."

"OK then, I am notifying you now : just cancel and stop my account when the contract is expired."
"No. We cannot do that."

"I would like to file a complaint, please give me your contact email address or mailing address for my letter."
"No. We do not provide this kind of information."

For now, Mary has to stuck with the Comwave. She would not be able to switch to another internet VOIP phone company for at least another 10 more months. Mary now only hopes that she will remember to call Comwave in the next anniversary month of her new Comwave's unauthorized contract.

Think again before you sign any contract with Comwave for the Voice over IP (VOIP) internet phone.

Comwave Networks Ignorance and poor quality!

I had been a customer of Comwave Telecom (Comwave.net) for more than 4 years now. I have multiple phones with them and have been spending well over 100$ for long distance alone every month. I have personally connected over than 50 other customers to their VOIP service and had also advised many more.

About half a year ago their voice quality degraded dramatically furthermore long distance was not working half of attempts. But this was just the beginning of the story. I had to spent well over 13 hours on the phone with their tech support and customer service to try to fix the problem. Finally new devices has been shipped to me but never arrived. Another month and another two been shipped and finally arrived. Now I was charged for 2 unactivated devices. Every month this charge comes up and I have to call back. I have requested the credit for those months that I was not able to use the phone but had received refusal. Nobody was calling to me back for many weeks in a row. My account got suspended a few times as those lost devices been coming up every month. I have spoke to Customer Service Manager Kim and Synova but they were not returning my calls.

Finally I've got fed up with this pure disrespect and nonexistence of customer service and started disconnecting my phones. I am also proceeding with moving my customers to another provider.

My current advisory: KEEP AWAY from COMWAVE.

Thanks,
Andrew.

This is, unfortunately, the current trend with voip.
Lot's of players dumped money in it and provided decent service initially, but through downward price pressure, the servie has suffered.
I had the same issue with Vonage.

Comwave Networks Fed up with the dropped and missed calls and overall lousy service!

I had this company's VOIP service for three months, and got fed up with the dropped and missed calls and overall lousy service, so I canceled the service.

They wouldn't give me any instructions on where and how to return their telephony modem, then they charged over $250 to my credit card for the modem without my permission. I called their customer service again and they finally gave me a shipping address. I was told if I returned their modem right away they'd reimburse the $250 to my card and also reimburse me for the cost of the shipping - but only if I used "Standard Ground" shipping method, which is not traceable. I was also asked to fax them the Canada Post receipt as proof I shipped the modem, which I did. I shipped the modem to the address Comwave gave me. Now Comwave can't find my modem (they lost it in their warehouse, or maybe gave me the wrong address?) and they are refusing to remove the charge from my card, even though they told me they did get my faxed receipt. I've had to file formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Toronto Star, and my credit card company to try and get the money back that they stole from me. I'm still waiting for my money. By all means, avoid these lying rip-off artists, or you'll be paying for your mistake later, as I'm doing!

My internet has been hacked over and over again and each time I call the tech has no idea how to fix it. Is thus because they are not qualified to be tech support. I have called many times replaced the modem and it is still not fixed. The people I speak with always brushes off the fact that my internet has been compromised

Thank you everybody for helping me dodge this horror. The whole time I was reading these posts there were Comwave commercials playing on this website. Very tasteful. Comwave has an A rating with the Better Business Bureau! Pre-authorized credit card billing and Bank account WITHDRAWALS should be illegal.

Holy c***! And Comwave has an A rating from the Better Business Bureau! WHAT is going on? Pre-authorized credit card billing should be barred by law. Bell and Cogeco don't do that and they're doing fine. Someone should make and post a list of all the telephone companies that DON'T do that. Then people could choose off that list and not waste time with ads for the skeevy pickpocket companies. I read Terms of Service first now. Maybe Consumer Reports should do it as penance for glowingly recommending Ooma without checking the company's business practices.

I did have comwave, cancelled since I had so many problems with them. They are con-artists, always wanting money, money and more money. I've hardly had any service at all with the internet and phone in least then a month, fed up with comwave and cancelled. I've paid them $229.64 in full and they still send me bills for $37.91 plus $100.00, I'm not paying any more money to them scam artists. I needed a phone because of emergency and when my family called it said I was not available or not in service after all I paid to them. I don't recommend comwave to anyone, they scam money out of people. People don't need to be treated like that and their are millions of complaints about their company. I have a much better service now and happy since I got rid of comwave.
