questionable work failing ethics and harassment
I was separated from my employer due to a neurological disorder in 2010 and have not been able to work since. I was awarded SSD in 2014 I also signed an Offer In Comprise with the IRS to settle my tax debt. I have faithfully made my $$ monthly payment since and will pay it for 8 more years. For the last two years I have received dozens of letters and hundreds of calls from every kind of "so called" collection agencies claiming I owe the IRS money and issuing all sorts of threats. I contacted the IRS directly several times and I am paid up to date.
Every contact that I receive I give the callers or writers the exact same message: I report to them my case # with The Inspector General of Tax Administration, my IRS OIC # and my CPAs contact info.
Now I have Conserve doing the same thing. Is to hard for these inferior researchers and callers to look up info and act on it correctly or is conserv a bunch of fishermen hoping they can get 1% of their targets to capitulate?
government debt rip off artists
I had a disaster assistance loan from the SBA which I didn't want in the first place but FEMA insisted it was the only help I could get at the time. After paying on the debt through automatic draft for 9 years SBA had trouble correcting my new info and the account went delinquent. I tried paying it several times and because I didn't pay the correct amount they kept sending my payments bake to me.
After some time I received a call from conserve telling me I owed them the balance on the account. Now the balance was more than I originally borrowed over 10 years ago and paid on it for 9 years. I asked how could this be and was given no answer or other way to pay. So after stomaching the fact that they were charging the maximum fees the Government allows them to charge of 28.7% I called them to work out payments. they offered me one option to pay it off in 36 months. Since I could not afford this option I asked about other options and where could I send payments. they refused and said if you cant pay in full or take their 36 month offer I would face wage garnishments. After trying to actually speak with them and appeal the amounts with the US dept of treasury they garnished my wages to the tune of over 900 per month. this is double what they offered on the payment option. the best part is they never know what the balance of the debt is and they are now overdrafting my paychecks telling my employer the debt is still not paid. I have tried everything to get them to listen and stop the garnishments to no end. so I will get paid on Friday again minus their cut of my check and still no one can account for where the payments are going. Be very cautious of this poorly run company. they are crooks getting rich off the government.
student loan
I contacted a debt collector from my credit report and was told that my student loan was with Conserve. I contacted Conserve to see if they could work with me to pay my student loan debt on 10/25/2017. I got Cedric. I dont know his last name but he was very pleasant and told me he could help. He indicated that he needed my pay stubs and asked me a series of questions about my expenses. He indicated that it came that my payments would at 250/month. He asked me about training expenses for my job that I pay or paid and with his direction I gathered in the payment documentation. He told me that he believed my payment could be lowered from the 250 with my training expenses but that would have to be determined by audit. If audit comes back and lower the payment I would be notified and my payment amount would be adjusted. He send me a number of pdfs I need to complete and sign, along with my stubs and training docs. I told him I would get them scanned and email them on 10/25/2017. I did that and called him to let me know it was sent. When he was done, he forwarded me to Amy. Amy got on and said she was verifying the details and saw that my payments were actually higher than that to the amount of over $400. I thought that was absurd and told her I could not pay that. So she said that she would put in some additional information and it came up to 298 and that it could be reduced once audit looks at my training expenses I sent. She told me that the paperwork I signed needed to be changed and that I needed to cross out the 250 and put 298 and then she said well just put in 300 and once audit looks at it and it gets reduced they would make the adjustment. I did this to the document while she was on the phone walking me through it and she told me to sign it and I did and sent it back on 10/25/2017. I am thinking someone will notify me of what the final amount would be - a few days later $300 came out of my checking account. I thought - was I dupped? She got me to change the contract and increase my payment from 250 to 300. After a couple of days I started getting calls from Conserve - I was angry but I felt "she got me" so I didn't answer them (I recognized the different numbers). After a I got tired of getting the calls so I answered on 11/6/2017 - low and behold it was Amy - telling me that the payment amount that she provided me with audit indicated it was too low and my payment increased to close to $400 dollars. She said my pay stub showed that I got had gotten a one time bonus. She told me to do the same thing I did before (alter the document) and send it back to her so she could send it to audit. I asked about my training expenses and she said they gave me a $60 dollar credit and that is why the new payment amount was not higher. I felt she got me already and I was not letting her get me again. She said to send the document right away and provide information on the annual bonus I received - circle the amount and write that I receive a bonus 1 time a year. I was frustrated but I said ok. Something told me not to do it. I thought about it over and over that night as I couldn't sleep. I realized that she was scamming me. I said no more so did not send the altered document as she told me to do. Since then and now I am getting calls throughout the day everyday.
I will be happy to provide my contact information if someone reaches out to me - I dont want my private information on a unsecure website.

impersonating the irs as a collection agency
Was sent several bills from the IRS stating that they had referred my outstanding taxes to Conserve Collection Agency, P.o. Box 307, Fairport, Ny, [protected]. For one thing the IRS garnishes your wages they do not hire collection agencies. Fraud. Impersonating the IRS. Womans' name Yolanda Aschionie. They sent several letters on what appears to be IRS letterhead.
Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, Kansas City, MO, [protected]. All letters are dated October 30, 2017. Notice number CP40. Telephone number for IRS contact [protected].
This poster is incorrect. The IRS does hire collection agencies, one of which is ConServe. You can verify this on the IRS website:

Federal Student Loan - CLT: #58607023420050726CL
I have submitted the "Financial Disclosure for Reasonable and Affordable Rehabilitation Payment" documents and established a checking account as per the payment agreement by my CONSERVE adviser;
It is to my understanding with the Agreement, that once I have completed the initial "Terms and Conditions of the Loan Rehabilitation Agreement" with CONSERVE that further wage garnishment will be suspended with the Guam Department of Education (GDOE); and CONSERVE will notify GDOE about the "Suspension of Wage Garnishment";
According the GDOE Payroll Division staff no such document has sent to their office;

out of bounds
These people call, they claim it's a 'personal business matter' to try to get you to admit who you are/may be. They will call every day, and say the subject of the call is something different each time. They even called, said they were 21st Century and wanted to incur about a house I had for sale. I don't have a house for sale, they just wanted me to admit my name so they could continue to harass me. Luckily I did no such thing, and they supposedly have removed the phone number from their lists. The kicker? I never even used my 'student loan' never benefitted from it financially, or went to school after I applied for it. Thanks Obama!
fraudulent company
I was talked into paying $5.00 A MONTH towards old school loans now they are stacking up the intrest I was also told by someone named Shelly that if I paid on it 9 months they would show proof to the credit bureau's which has not been done they are nothing but liars I am so furious that I don't want to talk to them on the phone so I have sent 3 emails and they haven't had the decency to email me back I am sick of this company I am talking to an attorney and reporting them to BBB& maybe my attorney general
I am in this same scenario-I just haven't sent send on my final paperwork needed to verify last two paystubs. Im nervous.
attempting to collect a debt from dfas that is already paid in full!
They continue to call at all hours of the day and evening, do they even sleep, that is not the point because I enjoy my rest at night. The caller today is Latrida Evans and she states that I have a past due amount that needs to be paid. I can dispute this by sending in the official documents that states that it is paid in full to them. After reading all of these complaints, I will not be sending in any form of document to these guys as my personal information will be on it, no redacting either! I have asked them to stop calling me and harassing me over something they have incorrect. Is there a way to shut down this company for good?
student loan repayment
I was contacted last year end of june 2015 by this company. I was receptive to them because I was looking to take care of my student loan. They asked me for all my personal information pertaining to my finances and everything. I provided them with all that they have asked me for . I have been making payments towards my Federal student loan since then debited directly from my credit card. 2 weeks ago I received a letter from Nelnet so I figured they transferred the account to a different company. Now I am learning that I should only deal with 4 companies that service loans for the department of education: Navient, Nelnet, great lakes. Fedloan. Conserve is not one of them. I would like to know what I should do about this. I made a year worth of Federal student loan payment! I need help please contact me at [protected]@gmail.com for more information. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

questionable customer phone service
For several months in mid 2015, I received phone calls from [protected]. Messages were left, barely intelligible due to caller's rapid delivery and lack of facility with English. In Sept I happened to answer and the caller asked for my son, by first name only. I wanted more information so I kept her on the line. Only at the end of the conversation did she give my son's last name per her records. It was a different person and she could have clarified that at the beginning. Meanwhile she would not give me the company name or reason for her call. I had to ask to send the caller an email inquiry and that's how I learned the company website. Everything was very suspicious because she used my son's legal first name, and his phone number is very similar to mine. He is in his early 20s, living in another city. There are lots of complaints about this company on the Better Business Bureau upper New York area.
liars
I refinanced my student loan from 1993 in January 2015 with this company. I spoke with a guy named Cody. After submitting all the paperwork they needed, He called me to tell me that my payments would be $5 a month. I asked about the credit report & irs lien & he stated that after I made 2 payments, both would be removed within 30 days. So, like an idiot, I waited 60 days to file my taxes. Guess what? I just got notice that my refund was garnished for my student loan. So, I called Direct loans/ conserve & explained my issue. The lady said that until the debt is paid in full, it would not be removed. When I asked about Cody lying to me, she stated, " Were in the collections business and if you have no contract stating such, I dont know what to tell you!" DO NOT believe anything these people tell you!
business practices should be illegal!
I'm surprised that this company hasn't been shut down. I had a 200$ debt that for some reason I thought I had finished paying. I never received a notice until it went to collections and unfortunately it got sent to conserve and now it is a 400$ debt. I can't believe that they can just add a 100% increase just like that. I take full responsibility for not paying the 200$ off originally but I can't believe that they can just add whatever amount they want to your debt. Isn't there some sort of regulations? I'm literally in disbelief and surprised this sort of business practice isn't illegal! And on top of that there is interest accruing for the unpaid amount. I feel bad for anyone having to deal with this company.
conserve
These people are low class & shady. Take the name, phone number & call your local police & report them. They continuously call my home looking for a jose campos. Lol, idiots dont speak english (I think they hired these peope, straight off the streets of romania). I told them no jose here - we have no latinos in our household, & the minimum wage operator insists i must know him because i answered the phone. Clearly when people are unedumacated, they can't even speak english let alone find their target. Complete brainless poor twits. You gotta feel sorry for these [censored]es.

worst customer service ever
My voice server stopped running and the support staff were very quick in posting an automated response that helped in no way.
When resubmitted the ticket i got the exact same unhelpful reply. I go a bit heated and pointed out how extremely useless their support was and they terminated my account and would not refund the 3 months fees owing to me.
Here is their actual response:

Support Staff || Staff 05/28/2012 07:41
Your account has been terminated for using foul language towards our staff. Any time you may have going forward has also been terminated. In the future I would suggest keeping your mouth shut.
Now I did not use foul language - I used clean words words like ###, idiot, ### and intellectually challenged. there you have it - if you have a problem with their support staff then "keep you mouth shut"
Do not use these guys they are ripoff artists.
bad business practice
I filled a bankrupacy in 2004.. When your company called me about the OCC biled I advised that I am in BK. I faxed you over the information and you waited until my 7 years were up and now you are after me again.
You and OCC I mean how long does a debt even last anyway ?

if you haven't had any activity on the debt since the statute of limitations has passed, they can't do anything to you legally.
suspicious $25 college previously attended iou
I looked on Complaint Boards website and found many other complaints related to the collections agency Conserve. I received a letter from a college I previously attended stating I owe $25. The letter looked suspicious to me and I didn't think I had owed any money to the college for the Fall Term. I hadn't even attended the college in the fall so I was puzzled as well. The letter stated that if the payment was not paid that my account will be submitted to the outside collection agency Conserve and that it would affect my credit rating as this would be reported to the National Credit Bureaus. If I keep getting letters for this debt I may have to get the debt collection statement in writing from the debt collection agency and/or the college, which is one action to take if a debt looks suspicious or you don't feel you owe the debt.

fraudulent collection agency
I received several calls from # [protected], but each time I was called the phone didn't ring long enough for me to answer. Finally, I called back, and I was directed to a clerk that stated that the company was a collection agency. They asked for my birth year to "verify" who I said I was. After talking awhile I learned that the agency was looking to...

Call this a**hole up and see if he likes it.
If your income taxes are being taken, then the Departmet of Education is taking it directly not the collection agency. They take what you owe them in full because an alternate payment arrangement was not made prior to tax season. If you have any student loans in federal default you wll be denied any future student loans. If you want to settle a loan for less than what is fully loaned then you need to do so before the Departemnt of Education takes it involuntarily
call at work
Our receptionist at work received call from Glen at Conserve asking for me. Receptionist asked if I was expecting his call, he said no this is a private business matter. Left his number [protected]. I researched this online found to be a collection agency for student loans. I have no loans unpaid. I will not call them back but am concerned about a collection agency calling me at work, especially when I owe no one anything.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
They could be calling because you are a contact or reference person on someone's documents. The best thing is to call them back to determine the best next course of action. If you need to request a do not call in future then do so at that time. They must honor a verbal request to stop calling your work number.
Oh, such blinding brilliance! Such a overflowing abundance of help for the OP!
collection practices
This company, conserve, sent verification information to my employer, trying to verify personal information about me. I have no accounts with this company to my knowledge and have never conducted business with a company by this name. I believe this company has violated my rights under fcra as this company has no reason to try and obtain information about me for any reason.
Thank you,

Call the Department of Education Federal Student Aid # for Student Loans @ [protected]. You can confirm that ConServe is sevicing your defaulted Student Loan. You can also request copies of your original promisory note. Student Loans NEVER go away. They have a right to take involuntary actions against you. Confirm that you in fact have no defaulted loans.
Thanks for the heads up. I am working with my bank now. I have the same complaint.
I recently started getting phone calls at home and at work from this company Conserve so I googled them to see who they are.
They supposedly work for universities on old debts.
I got calls from a guy named Mike first claiming he was from Pace University, then he says he was from Conserve. He told me I owe Pace money from 1991, I told him he's got to be kidding me because I have never gotten anything in writing from Pace stating as such and I want something in writing detailing why I owe Pace money.
In fact I just got my 3 credit reports last week, so I know I don't owe any money. He threatened to call my boss and payroll department to garnish my wages and hung up. I explained the situation to my boss and my bookkeeper to find out "this guy doesn't have a leg to stand on and he's only using bullying tactics". Employers require a Federal Court Order to garnish your wages, not because some collection agency called and says you owe them money.
Ask them for detailed report in writing on why you have been sent to collections, keep a detailed report on your conversations and also make sure you report "possible fraud" to your local credit union.
Good luck to you
