I got the same form that everyone else appears to have received
I got the same form that everyone else appears to have received. Looks like a government form. Wants $243. I thought it looked fishy, especially when I couldn't find anywhere in my files where I'd sent in this same form in prior years. VERY SHADY!
Scam company and completely sleazy practice
Scam company and completely sleazy practice. I couldn't believe that they would so blatantly copy a state COI form and feel for those who have fell for the scam. don't send this company any money, you can file your SOI online or using the downloaded form.
Our association received the official-looking 501-C form in December 2022 as previous reviews have stated - the only difference I see is that the 'LLC' was dropped from the Corporate Processing Service. Thanks to the ComplaintsBoard.com for providing the information and this review area.
BEWARE! TOTAL SCAM!OMG, I almost fell for it! How can they get away with this?!
I received a mailer imitating an official form from the state or federal government. The form was even titled 501-C and addressed to my nonprofit. It stated in bold letters that if the statement of information was not filed by the due date, the California franchise tax board would assess a $250 penalty. There was a $243 service process fee box and a respond no later than January 15, 2023 deadline in bold letters. Once you read the fine print the form indicates that this is not a bill but a solicitation and that you are under no obligation to pay the amount stated above. At the top of the form there is also a short statement indicating that this product or service has not been approved or endorsed by any governmental agency and that this offer was not being made by an agency of the government. I could see how easily people could be tricked into sending their $243 check for a statement of information that would cost only a fraction if filed directly with the state.
I am so glad that my first impression made me think for a moment and research. Our corporation has been in existence for years and never before have we been asked to do this. THIS IS A DISGUSTING SCAM TO ROB BUSINESS OWNERS WHO ARE TOO NAIVE TO RESEARCH IT. I WONDER HOW MANY 10'S OF THOUSANDS THEY HAVE RECEIVED BY THIS FRAUDULENT SCAM.

We received the same 501-C letter as others have stated. It appears to be an official government form, complete with Corporation Codes, fees, due dates, and late fees. There is fine print that states that they "have not been approved or endorsed by any governmental agency and that this offer is not being made by an agency of the government".Despite this wording, it insinuates that the company will be grossly out of compliance without filing. They are highly predatory and should be out of business in addition to legal action taken against them.

Scam attempt, although they make the form look as "official" as possible.Key wording: "THIS PRODUCT OR SERVICE HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED OR ENDORSED BY ANY GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY, AND THIS OFFER IS NOT BEING MADE BY AN AGENCY OF THE GOVERNMENT."*tosses form and envelopes into the shredder
Deceptive forms sent pretending to be official, preying on business owners - disgusting practice.

I've had a similar experience as others. I received what looked to be an official Form 501-LLC requesting payment of $243 to be paid by August 15th. At first, I didn't realize what it was. Then like others, I did an online search and found out what was going on. What a waste of my time! I am so thankful for the ComplaintsBoard.com information and comments that confirmed this is just a way to scam people out of additional money for filing that the state charges $20 for! Their form states 'A document' which makes it sound as though it's an agency that is affiliated with the government, it should say 'A Ripple document'. Wish I could leave zero stars!
we just received a form 501-llc from Corporate Processing Service. I think this is very deceptive and unfair to new businesses who dont know you can file the *** yourself for a very small fee!
I've received a letter Form 501-C requesting for a process fee of $243 to be paid no later than Sept 15. It didn't look like the Statement of Information from previous filing. My instinct was it might be a SCAM. I looked it up under ComplaintsBoard.com and made the determination that this is bogus. To those that receives similar letter, please review before you send your process fee.
This company uses deceptive practices to trick businesses into sending them money.
Corporate Processing Service" is total scam Sent me a bogus 501-LLC form for my renewing LLC, with request for $243, when state cost for filing
"Corporate Processing Service" is total scam Sent me a bogus 501-LLC form for my renewing LLC, with request for $243, when state cost for filing is $20. They need to be in jail. Suspect they use public CA LLC records and send to every LLC, ripping them off. Please ask Atty *** to shut them down ASAP

Scam organization, sending out forms that 99.9% mimic (copy?) federal IRS forms. The form suggests that recipients need to pay them to declare an organization's directors and officers? Organizations are already required to do this in the annual IRS and CA EDD tax filing returns. Should be barred and shut down for its very deceptive marketing.

I agree with the others
I agree with the others. I received what looked like an official 501-C form from the *** to file a Statement of Information, for a $243 fee! It's only when you carefully read the fine print that you'll see that it is a solicitation from "Corporate Processing Service A *** Agency."The form looks very official with the same font and design that the *** uses, but don't be scammed. It's all fake.
This firm fraudulently attempts to trick you into paying them to file your business statement of information with the Secretary of State
This firm fraudulently attempts to trick you into paying them to file your business statement of information with the Secretary of State. They send you an official looking form to fill out with lots of information on how filing is required (it is) that there a penalties for not filing (there are) but which does not mention that you can pretty much file for free on-line at the secretary of state's website.Just a bunch on con artists.
I am echoing the many of the earlier reviews - I just received what appeared to be an official form from the state for my S-corp
I am echoing the many of the earlier reviews - I just received what appeared to be an official form from the state for my S-corp. In reality is a scam deliberately trying to rob businesses through the mail. They include no other information in the mailing, just a form that appears as an official state tax document with a small disclaimer they hope people will miss before they are cheated out of their money. I gave them one star only because zero stars was not an option.

What a scam!
What a scam! This corporate parasite mails CA corporations and LLCs stating that their Statement of Information is due. It informs the owner that corporations are "required to file or cause to be filed..." and that "Form must be returned by the due date" of the *** It instructs owners to file online for "reduced filing fees" or to mail a check for $278 so these low lifes can file your SOI for you. What they don't tell you is your SOI filing fee is $20, and you can file this with the State on your own at https://www.sos.ca.gov/business-programs/bizfile/file-online.This is NOT illegal, it's just unethical, immoral and pathetic.

My LLC was targeted by Corporate Processing Service, sending a false invoice for a fictitious service.
My LLC was targeted by Corporate Processing Service, sending a false invoice (510-LLC) for a Biennial Order, demanding $243.00. It's a gross falsification of an official document, made to look authentic. I usually comply with government requests, but a warning stood out: 'THIS PRODUCT OR SERVICE HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED OR ENDORSED BY ANY GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY, AND THIS OFFER IS NOT BEING MADE BY AN AGENCY OF THE GOVERNMENT.' Despite this, the form mimics official documents, and I fear many may unwittingly send money to these fraudsters. Do NOT send your money to these scammers.
